Just fabulous. A staggering quantity (normal eater here) of food, that was delicious. I got two full meals out of one plate. Really good yellow barbecue sauce. Highly recommended. Don't let the exterior or spartan interior fool you.

This place is outstanding! I get the gumbo and rice almost every time, but they had me try a rib today. Ermgerd! Tender, meaty, and so smokey. Just make sure you get plenty of napkins.

I never knew this place existed except for one of my co-workers was mentioning this place a couple of weeks ago and the place is sort of near where I am working. Since I grew up not knowing what good BBQ is like, this place was good. I got the Pulled Pork Sandwhich and it tasted just like it was cooked on a BBQ Pit (this is coming from a northerner). I do admit, restaurant is really nothing too spectacular, but just average. Staff is friendly, and there were joking with me since I had admitted I did not know what good BBQ tasted like. My only complaint with the sandwhich was the meat was not placed on the bun, so not sure if they do that knowing the meat might eventually fall out from plate too mouth and they are trying to avoid messes, or if it was for the fact my side was plain rice, since I was not big on the other sides (corn, mac and cheese, etc, etc). There are other BBX Options as in ribs, chicken, brisket, hash and rice, ox tails, and all for a reasonable price. The most expensive dinner on their menu comes to $13, but that also comes with two sides. I would have not known this place existed (as it sits in a strip mall and sits somewhat back from the road (this is right past the Waffle House at the corner at Parklane and Farrow Roads as if you were heading towards I-77). The place is closed Mondays and Tuesdays, only open 11-6 Wednesdays - Saturdays, and 1-6 on Sundays. I had gotten lunch here on a Wednesday and it was busy for lunch (but fast) and was not sure if it was due to the restaurant being closed for the past two days. When I got lunch this past Thursday, it was not as busy as I was able to walk right up to the counter and had much lunch under five minutes. A good place for BBQ if you live or work in the NE area!

Firstly, I have to say this is by far, the best Southern Barbecue I've found since I've lived in Columbia! I found this place by accident on a lunch foray from work. Everything I've tried here has been fantastic. This an almost weekly stop for myself and a few co-workers and all the co-workers I've taken here have been impressed hands down. Barbecue options are: Pulled Pork, Brisket, Chicken, or Ribs. Sides are: Potatoes Salad, Slaw, Baked Beans, Fried Okra, Green Beans, Mac&Cheese, Gumbo & Rice or Hash & Rice. You can choose red sauce (tomato based) or yellow sauce (mustard based) sauce on any order. All of the sides are great, but my personal favorite is the BBQ baked beans and the Gumbo. The Gumbo is very authentic and as close to Louisiana Cajun I've had since leaving home. I've tried almost all of these items and they are all fantastic. I'm from Alabama originally, so the typical midlands style mustard based barbecue sauce has taken a while to grow on me. I've tried it from many place like Little Pigs, Maurice's, etc, but I still crave a tomato based, sweet style BBQ sauce that is typical in Alabama, Georgia and North Carolina. This isn't quite that, but it's definitely better than other tomato based sauce options I've found in Columbia. Not quite as good or sweet as Sonny's for example or Sticky Fingers, but close enough. And the mustard sauce is as good as anywhere else I've had here. What the sauces lack, the flavor of the meat and quality of the meat options make up for. It's still pulled pork, not chopped like you find in Alabama or Georgia, but is juicy and well smoked. Great flavor! The portions are perfect for the normal meals, the larger meals need a big appetite. The environment is clean and friendly, and is family run. Service is fast and typical for what you'd expect from a family run business. IMO, this one of the best little known BBQ places in Columbia. This is now a typical stop for me and the standard on which I gauge other BBQ places in Columbia from now on.

Past it the first time and did a U-turn. Glad I did because the meal was pretty good. Prices range from $6-14. Service was decent and staff friendly. Mac and cheese and collards were yummy. Be warned baked beans have ground beef/ sausage? Would not order those again. Definitely will come again.

We were on our road trip from Charleston to Charlotte and was looking for a good southern BBQ place off route 77. This one is right next to exit 19 and we saw good reviews from yelp and decided to give it a try. We ordered pulled pork sandwich, ribs meal including pig feet with rice, potato salad and green bean. They were all very tasty and good portion. I particularly enjoyed the pig feet with rice. As a Chinese, I ate pig feet often in all different ways (soup, broiled and etc) But this pig feet was so well done and it felt off the bone and just melted in my mouth. It was seasoned just right. The pig feet went perfect with rice. My toddler enjoyed the rice as well. The service was friendly. The guy took our order later came to check with us to see if we like everything. Overall, a great experience with food and service. Btw. It is defiantly a local place as we see they seem to know most customers here.

It was ok. I was not impressed because you can find the same at Lil Pigs. Service was really slow, but they were friendly. We live 5 mins away and have had no desire to go back.
