What a sweet little place! I ordered coffee and the watermelon goat-cheese cheesecake, which was lovely. The coffee comes out in a wee French press and is served in a teacup along with a biscotti. The biscotti was a little heavy on the baking soda, unfortunately, but- On to the cheesecake! Watermelon and goat cheese are a happy marriage indeed- the sugary lightness of the watermelon was a lovely counterbalance to the thick creaminess of the goat cheese, and the crumb was so good I scraped every bit up. It's a small portion, but the perfect size for a daytime indulgence: a little smaller than a (girlish) palm. If you're with a friend, order two. You might think you'll want to share, but you won't. They also gave me a handmade truffle after I paid my tab ($11 for a bunch of coffee & a tasty little cream-cake, pretty fair for a kinda fancy place, yeah?) but I forgot about the truffle until I was a few blocks away. Whoops. But what a fun, affectionate touch. I like to write in cafes, and the staff was sweet about my hanging around for several hours while I worked on my laptop. This place would be perfect for a cozy lunch with friends. Overall, Twenty-Six Divine is a whimsically executed family affair, and it is divine indeed. I'll be back for more.

Simply excellent. Had lunch with my gf and my cousin and the food and service was exceptional. Duo of soup with an asparagus and potato soup and a turkey chili. The first was light and buttery while the chili had loads of depth that I've never found in any turkey chili I've ever had. Could have eaten the pot full. The entree was 3 chicken and chorizo tacos that were very well balanced. Hot sauce on the side for extra heat and a corn and pineapple salsa. The beans were ok, but the salsa was sweet and just enough tart. Dessert was a rocky road sundae, local strawberry short cake or a coconut creme cake. Everything appeared to be made from scratch. The service was excellent and handled by the two owners. This place is a must visit if you're in the neighborhood.

My sisters and I have a tradition of having an afternoon tea whenever we get together. We were visiting Charleston on a trip and I found this restaurant and their afternoon tea. I made reservations and we had our sister's date. We've done several afternoon teas, this one was by far one of the best I have ever experienced. Last summer we went to The Palm Court in Chicago, and this tea was better. Not only was the food amazing, but they refilled, unheard of. We also had a great conversation with the proprietor. When I get back to Charleston I'll be returning. Amazing!!

If we were just talking about the food, this place might be 5 stars. I went with my friend Tim and we ordered the crab cakes, the tacos, and the beef brisket sandwich. All 3 were really good. Tim and I loved the sandwich, and I thought the crab cakes were some of the best I've ever tasted. Even the mac & cheese side was great. The problem? Each of these dishes were ~$16, so this huge feast would have cost us like $60 after tax & tip. A little bit pricey. Why did we order so much? Well, this place is on restaurant.com , and I had a $25 voucher where you have to spend a minimum of $50. So our meal wasn't THAT expensive, but still $35 for 2 for lunch is more than we usually spend. The place itself was rather plain, and we were one of two groups in the place. Felt like I had to keep my voice down. I think we were like the only non-couples that ever come in this place lol. But again, the food was great.

Go search this place out. Yes, it's a bit further up King St but it's more than worth the trip. They also have some parking spaces in the back so you don't need to be bothered finding a nearby street spot. FYI - the Front door is not for customer use, go around to the back. I hear they used to do grab 'n go bakery items but not anymore. They are now focused as a sit down restaurant as well as catering gigs. You'll find them closed on Sunday & Monday but, open for lunch Tuesday & Wednesday. Then Thursday through Saturday they open for lunch and then again for dinner in the evening. They operate as a Husband and Wife team and with my luck, I met their little one Grayson when I came in for lunch. The attention to detail in the food here is unlike anywhere else in Charleston. You could tell than Jenn was genuinely excited to see that I enjoyed everything on my plate. As others have mentioned, they love to bring out little samples of treats while you dine. While waiting for my pulled pork tacos, they brought out a taste of a honey dew vanilla smoothie with slices of grapes in it. It was so refreshing I wanted to order a full size one. The place is tiny which is kind-of cool. They can probably only seat 20 people inside. Definitely worth checking out this gourmet food at a very affordable price too.

I've waited patiently for a year before writing this review, because tastes change; one always experiences new things, what once new becomes old, etc. After all this time, I can say that Twenty Six Divine is my favorite spot in Charleston to eat. Their hours are odd, the seating space limited but these qualities only serve to make the experience all the more unique. Twenty Six Devine isn't about serving massive quantities of people or cutting corners; it's all about the food. A husband and wife team make the best, focus on the details - your taste buds will never be disappointed. Seating is extremely limited, and they're only open 11 - 3 Tuesday through Saturday. During the winter, the asparagus soup is a must. And keep an eye out for their speciality parties throughout the main holidays (Christmas, NYE, Thanksgiving, etc.). My Saturday recommendation: is to hit-up the nearby rockwall gym or Highwire Distillery and then walk on over to Twenty Six Divine for a nice brunch!

Had a wonderful meal here for restaurant week. The owners were extremely friendly and the food was innovative, but also simple, filling, and delicious! I really loved the space (beware, it's very small!), but cozy, like you're dining in someone's living room. The back patio is adorable and I could totally see myself sipping coffee or champagne under the lights. When we sat down, we were given 2 different kinds of bread, a homemade hawaiian sweet roll, and another roll (can't remember), both were absolutely delicious. Before our meal came out, they brought us a little amuse bouche of a cheesy pastry, and it was soooo good. I could've eaten a whole basket of those. I started with the bacon & avocado salad, which was awesome. It was really light, and bursting with flavor. I would absolutely order this again. My friend tried the white bean zucchini cakes, which looked like crab cakes. They were surprisingly flavorful, and I really enjoyed them. Everything tasted super fresh and excellently prepared. For my entree, I went with the slow cooked BBQ pulled pork, served with collards, mini jalapeno cheddar corn muffins, and smoked gouda mac n cheese (aka my kryptonite). The pulled pork was served wrapped in the collard greens like a paleo ravioli, and it was unique and totally delicious. The smoked gouda mac was on point. My friend ordered the cilantro-lime seared mahi mahi, served with roasted chayote squash, carolina gold rice cake, and mango buerre blanc. It was absolutely awesome. I'm not usually a fish person, but this I would absolutely order again. I don't know what was in that rice cake, but sign me up for more of those, please! For dessert, I went with the chocolate mousse cake, and was not disappointed. It was basically everything you want in a chocolate cake. My friend ordered the mixed berry ricotta tart, which was a great contrast to the richness of the chocolate. It was light and sweet and just perfect all around. When they brought out the check, they gave us these little mini apple tartlets which were so cute and absolutely delicious. If those are on the actual menu, you can bet I'll be back. My friend was really impressed that they went with more nutmeg than cinnamon which made it much more unique tasting.

I met a friend here for lunch with my baby. I was a little nervous at first that we would be disruptive since the space is so small and intimate, but we were so warmly welcomed and treated with such attentiveness throughout the meal. The owner even brought down her own son's booster seat for my daughter to use. I've never received such service at any restaurant in Charleston, so it made the food all the more delicious and an overall memorable experience. The salmon was exactly what I wanted on a chilly winter day--warm, rich and flavorful. Ending the meal with cookies and milk had me smiling the rest of the afternoon. I'd love to come again for a wine and cheese evening, but for lunch it was, as its name states, divine.

Charleston restaurant week always brings out the best in quality restaurant. This is only my second year attending and I definitely didn't want to try the same place. Friends chose this quaint, cozy restaurant on King Street and it did not disappoint. My first course was the baked mushroom - orzo mac n' cheese. I must say I have never had orzo before and I will make sure I have it again because it was so delicious. My next course was the salmon with quinoa and asparagus. The salmon was cooked to perfection with the outside layer crispy and mouthwatering. But they saved the best for last....... dessert. PB&J Le Succes was a melt in your mouth type of dessert. Every bite was sinfully delectable. Thank u Twenty-six Divine.

All the food is to die for! Five of us all had different entrees and desserts. Our comments: Superb, transcendent, phenomenal and works of art. They also have a parking in back. Came back again with 11 in the group. There is only seating for 26 so we called way ahead to reserve. Every person loved their lunch & dessert. I had chicken salad sandwich - the chicken salad had fresh mint in it. Yum! We brought home a strawberry & a lemon cake. Both were exquisite - we all voted for the lemon though - it was more flavorful. This place is such a little gem!

Kind of an unknown gem-- a lunch place that does catering and bakery north of Crosstown? Up the street from the ballyhooed (and good) Butcher and Bee is this little spot next to Holy City Barber ($25 haircuts, holycow). Upper-upper king is getting upscale? The food is definitely upscale, with amuse bouches and the infused ice teas and the like, but it's personable, cute and tasty. I had the chicken salad, which came with a salad, a little dessert taste. They have a carryout area up front, but if you want to eat back (looks like they added a new patio and a bunch of tables) you need to walk through the alley to the back. Bottom line: great, inventive, but straightforward food (check out their menu), pricing is not dirt cheap, personable. I really hope they do well, and get some more buzz!

They did our wedding rehearsal dinner and everyone was raving about the food. Everything tasted amazing and the couple that owns this place are very kind and worth supporting. Food was very reasonably priced although I would recommend ordering a bit more than they suggest, we were wiped clean of everything except a few rolls.

26 Reasons why Twenty Six Divine is Divine (1-3) Fresh, tasty, inventive menu which (4) maintains some favorites but (5) rotates other items on or off the menu. (5) Cozy dining area inside plus (7) seating at an outdoor patio. Menu offers a variety of types of foods to satisfy all the (8) pesky different dietary needs of just about any group. Indoor seating is in a (9) refreshingly uncluttered, bright, airy room, with (10) great tables that were designed by one of the owners and (11) don't' wobble! And the food? Well yes, lets go there. Start off with the nice surprise of an (12) amuse-bouch, which for the two lunches there were flavorful and just the right amount to awaken the palate. The first time it was a beet concoction; most recent trip was a lovely taste of a sweet potato vichyssoise (I did get a before and after picture of that one). We had water or a (13) infused ice tea for beverage, though there also are other alternatives. Our guest was delighted by the(14) mason jars the drinks came in. Lunch itself was nice (combining several experiences here). (15)The smoked gouda pimento cheese panini with roasted corn soup got a thumbs up and looked almost too pretty to eat. I didn't try the (16) homemade basil-lemon & ricotta gnocchi, but it got a thumbs up from the guest who did get it as did the chicken salad sandwich. The (17) cilantro-lime fish tacos used marinated scarlet snapper, not tilapia (which was nice for those of us who prefer to avoid farm raised fish). The beans with it were out of this world, as was the corn taco it came in. It was seasoned in such a way that all the flavors came through, without being searingly spicy hot. I thought the avocado salsa a nice accompaniment to the fish. (18) One of the owners came out to chat with us each time. There was talk of a new event (19) "Taco Tuesday" where they'll be serving specialty foods with a Guatemalan flair. We weren't going to have a dessert, but a birthday was involved, so we decided to split one -- then couldn't narrow our choices, so ended up with 3. (20)Amazing. (21)And the presentation of each was beautiful. I am a creme brulee freak, and was completely satisfied, and then some, with the pistachio brulee . The Cherry Berry pie with homemade rosemary ice cream was a tiny bit of heaven. Food allergies kept me from trying the cheesecake, but the moans from the other side of the table tells me it was delish, too. (22) The staff was great -- they didn't flinch at all our questions, were attentive, helpful, and informative. They also didn't flinch when we made a quick video to send to a missing family member so they could be part of the meal. (23) This is an owner operated restaurant, with owners on premise. He's the chef, she's the angel involved in the sweets. It's sort of like winding down. (24)They also cater and will package up meals for take away. (25) There's a small parking lot behind the house, too, if you can't find anything on the street. But the 26th reason? The meaning behind the name of their company. I'll let Jenn or Enan tell you when you stop in for a nibble at Twenty Six Divine.

My friends and I enjoyed an incredible Saturday lunch, having never eaten at this lovely restaurant off the beaten path of Charleston! I loved my bisque and smoked Gouda sandwich...so much more delicious than I imagined! My friends equally enjoyed wonderful pumpkin French toast and asparagus quiche, with so many tasty sides! Then lunch was topped off with a dessert sampler... Perfect! We loved the setting and the "home" feeling amply served by Jen and Enan. Can't wait to visit again! Have already recommended 26 Divine to several people.....simply DIVINE!
