What have I been missing?! I absolutely love this place. Despite the harrowing parking situation, once you are in you are magically transported to a mexi paradise. The have recently expanded their eating space so there are many places to sit. The service is excellent, even light jokes, happy people cooking in the back. Very clean. Very warm atmosphere. The menu spans the globe of infused flavored. My taste buds travelled to Greece for in the Med taco, and then jumped down to the Caribbean. Spot on with both cultural flavors. Arguably the best Mexican in West Ash, maybe even Charleston, the foodie Capitol of the world!

I went here for a quick bite while running some errands. I had the Caribbean taco and chips and queso. Both were awesome! The jerk sauce on the taco was just the right amount of spice. I tried some of the house-made peach hot sauce which was also delicious. Service was extremely fast and friendly. Will definitely be back.

It was decent. Now I'm not trying to be that guy, but growing up in LA where exotic tacos are everywhere these did not blow me away. The blackened fish tacos were good, being completely honest they were well flavored and satisfying. The biggest drawback for me is I didn't see or have a taco worth the $3 price tag. For that cost I was expecting an out of this world experience. Again, having good to great tacos in LA for half the price this was a put off. Would I go again, maybe for another team function. But to go for average tacos on my own, probably not. I was also put off by the fact that they couldn't make a taco into a burrito. I mean put what's in the taco in a soft wrapped tortilla nix the lettuce and up charge me if need be.

I'll have to update this review when I dine in, but 4 stars for my breakfast burrito last Sunday morning! It is so hard to find any form of Mexican food in Charleston, let alone Mexican food open on a Sunday morning! The burrito was the perfect size, had bacon, eggs, cheese, potatoes and chili (I think, my boyfriend ordered while I waited in the car). Even after a 15 minute drive home, it was still warm, and delicious! I will return!

  • Ryan H.

OK, better experience all other times there. It was just a bad day for my first review. I really think they have very tasty tacos and are a great place to pick up a quick Mexican fix! I will be back.

I needed to run to West Ashley today and since I've had the Taco Spot on the brain, I figured this was the perfect opportunity for me to give it a try. The menu offers A LOT so I quickly read thru the Yelp tips as I stood in line to help make my decision. I picked the original fish taco in a crunchy corn shell and the daily special, the Barnyard Scrabble in a flour tortilla. The fish taco was awesome. That cilantro soy aioli on the fish is delicious. The Barnyard Scrabble was not as successful for me. The chicken, bacon, potatoes, cheese, and fresh flour tortilla were fine, but the egg was way over cooked. I don't know if it's b/c I got it to-go or not, but I just took it off the taco and didn't eat it. A lot of the reviews talk about the small portions, but it was the perfect size for me as I always end up wasting food when the portion sizes are too big. Plus it's $3 a pop, for fresh ingredients! That's a great deal for the portion size in my book so I'll definitely be back.

I just ordered lunch from here yesterday for the first time and I could not have been more pleased. Since I use Quickfoxes, this review is only for the food! I had two soft tacos, one with blackened chicken and one with their pulled pork. HOLY COW - that pork taco was maybe the yummiest taco I've ever consumed. And they are so affordable for lunch! The chicken taco was still good, but the meat was a teensy bit dry. All the fixins' tasted super fresh, which is always a plus! Are the tacos the most beautiful thing to look at? No, but I promise - you won't mind! Definitely adding them to my lunch rotation.

Let me tell you why I love The Taco Spot. 1) THEY ARE OPEN ON SUNDAY. In Charleston, Souf Kerolina, this is a BIG DEAL. 2) They have AWESOME breakfast tacos!!!! 3) They have online ordering and a mobile app. So....as I write this, I am placing an order online for breakfast tacos and yep, you guess it, it's SUNDAY! Thank you thank you thank you Taco Spot for being progressive and opening on Sunday so we can enjoy your delicious food. Even if the breakfast tacos were subpar (they aren't; they're reall good) I would still be a patron simply because you're just about the only place that's open that has good craveable food on a Sunday. The service is always quick & friendly, and I enjoy being able to place an order online or via the app and pop in/pop out conveniently. The migas tacos are amazing and the regular breakfast tacos + black beans are my jam. Add some bacon if you want to take it up a notch. Protip: They are in the Belly network, so you can download the app, scan their code when you order, and get points or something.

Retried this spot after a few years. Great improvements to food and atmosphere!! Wonderful new expanded space in the works making eating with a group much easier. More vegetarian options added to menu and delish fresh ingredients. Staff are friendly and accommodation! On top of it the prices can't be beat! Can't wait to make more trips here soon!

  • Michael T.

It was okay. I would probably not get the soft flour tacos.

  • Anthony E.

Best taco spot in town easily. The blackened fish taco or quesadilla is an excellent choice always. Make sure to get extra chipotle ranch because it's one of the best fish taco sauces I've ever had. Black and Bleu taco is also excellent. Steak meat is good quality stuff not cheap Taco Bell steak. Website is also vey useful for pick up orders.

  • Joy G.

Not good. Fish was mushy, guac was bland. All was bland.....even the chips. Not the most jovial place either. Thank you for the response. I'd be happy to give you another shot.

This is one of my fav taco places in Charleston. Staff is friendly. Food is amazing.

  • Andie C.

AWESOME tacos! I had the original fish taco and chicken taco. WOW....what great flavor!!!! Some of the best tacos I have had in Charleston. My husband had a fish burrito and was raving about it. He finished the rice/beans we ordered as a side...I didn't care for them too much. They were quite bland. We started out with some chips/queso....the queso was ok (not the best I've had) and the chips had a pretty tasty seasoning on them....I don't think it was just salt. We enjoyed this starter. We sat in the bar area so that we could watch the cooks/hang out with others...it was very enjoyable. Can't wait to go back because I am already craving those tacos!

EDIT: This place is good food for what you come in for, which is tacos in Charleston. I didn't have the greatest visit recently, but I will say they do knock it out of the park in customer service and for that I am definitely upping my review. Small business owners and they responded very graciously to criticism I gave them previously. Go for the fish tacos, no doubt, but I would definitely specify corn tortillas over flour ones especially for fish. I think the flour can probably drown the flavor a little in more delicate tacos. Definitely interested in heading back and trying out the breakfast tacos they offer sometime. They are offered the whole day, I think, but I'm not a breakfast for dinner kind of person. The mobile app is also a cool concept and I will be trying that out in the future. Nice job Taco Spot, you keep doing you.

  • Amber S.

The blackened fish taco are absolutely incredible! The salads I've tried (forgot the names) have always been delicious! Always get the trio (queso, salsa. guacamole) though the guacamole is quite bland. The enchiladas are good but tend to have too much meat in them - I'd like for them to eventually come out with a cheese option too.

  • Kirston M.

Love love love this place! It's real good for a quick bite to eat. They do offer gluten free options if you talk to them and can even do dairy free too!! This is big for me with a fam full of allergies. The staff are really friendly and all the food has been served hot and fresh with every visit. However I am sad I can't get my two favorite tacos in their crunchy shells anymore. ;-( please fix this!! I love the meat the potatoes, and the low country chicken & sausage!

  • Renae J.

I really like this place!! I always get the fish tacos; 1 original and 1 blackened. The fish is cooked perfectly, the sauce is amazing and the lettuce is crispy. The tortillas are soft and fluffy and they you give the option of a fried tortilla....ah-mazing! The chips and salsa are great as well but hoping for a little more spice with the hot salsa. Fast friendly service and lots of food options!

    (5)
  • Margaret J.

I tried the blackened chicken taco salad and can I say OH MY GOD!!! Beyond good:) The dressing that comes with it is amazing not to spicy and the chicken!!! They give you a whole bowl of shredded chicken! Along with that you get chips on top of your salad:) Everything that came with that salad was amazing and I'm contemplating if I should order it again for lunch!!

  • Dani C.

This place is great for your quick lunch fix; they have a pretty extensive taco menu. What I had was good, not amazing, but good. A couple friends and I went in and all ordered a variety of tacos. Most were good, but there were a few that were really lacking in any kind of seasoning. The guacamole was literally just mashed avocado in a cup, no salt/lime/etc. And my friend said her fish was mush. That aside, the food was good for the price. Be warned, parking is horrible. Not their fault, just something to know ahead of time. The decor is cool, and there's an extension to the dining area that opens the place up a bit. EDIT: I will still be going back, I never judge a place by one meal. The menu is huge, so I feel compelled to give it another shot! :D

I have a bit of a Taco Spot addiction. I'm boring and almost always get the same thing: the Cilantro Soy Aioli Fish Taco. Yum yum! I don't really think that $3 for a taco is that bad, really. I mean come on people, this isn't McDonald's. It is food made fast however, which I like when I'm in a hurry. I also like their black beans which they serve with a side of sour cream. I've never eaten black beans with sour cream before until eating at the Taco Spot, but it was so good...I'll probably never go back to eating plain beans again! The West Ashley location (their other location is on Coming St. on the peninsula), is super tiny. It has a long counter seating area where you can chat with the cooks, and a small area in the back with about 3 tables, which seats about 10 people total. The service at the register is sometimes hit or miss. I've had really friendly service from them and also annoyed service too. Many items on the menu are vegetarian (can be made vegan, too), and not half-assed vegetarian either! The restaurant is pretty eco friendly, as you are served on reusable plates and silverware. You buss your own table. They are also open late, early for breakfast and serve their breakfast menu all day. Diner beware: The parking situation out front is horrible. Good luck. You are better off trying the back entrance.

The restaurant I miss most from my time in Charleston is taco spot. Their concept isn't ridiculously tough. Just great tacos at affordable prices made with quality ingredients. But they execute it so perfectly. Every time I get a chance to go back to charleston, I will make sure to hit up taco spot. Recommendations: Regular fish taco Sweet chili Thai pork taco. I forget the name, but it's amazing.

Meat the potatoes, black n bleu... best tacos ever. We eat here regularly and love it every time. Great food, plus they always play good music and are super friendly! I'm addicted!

Got lunch from here and it was alright. The blackened fish taco ($3) I got was very good. It had a wonderful flavor and it was an awesome taco all around. It was reasonably priced and I would try this place again because of this taco. On the other hand I also ordered the steak taco salad ($8) and it was not good at all. All it was was lettuce and meat. No tomatoes or any toppings what so ever. Probably the most boring and taste less salad I have even eaten. There where chips that filled half the container instead of more salad, the chips were OK but I would have liked a better salad then just adding them. You would need to order other food when getting this because this did not fill me up at all. It was the size of a side salad.

Great little restaurant - reminds me of a late night college spot. The tacos were great..it's easy to order.

YUM. This is my latest obsession. Their tacos are delicious and I love all the different combinations. My fav so far is the Blackened Fish and Caribbean. They are fast and priced reasonable.

This place has great tacos, burritos, quesadillas and Chocolate custard cups! These are the only things I have tried, so they are they only things I will comment on. Great food, always fresh, and great service. I would highly recommend this place. I go for lunch often, especially on $5 burrito Thursday. The Belly app that I check in with gives me 5 points each time I go and I am able to get free food, so I love going to The Taco Spot.

  • Kylee C.

So good! Taco Spot was recommended to me and I will defiantly pass the recommendation on. I would say they have the best Mexican food in Charleston-hands down! Prices are fair, staff was friendly and accommodating, and the quality of food was excellent!

Please bring back the old chicken! I used to drive down to the Taco Spot on Sundays from Goose Creek for the Blackened chicken. Since they have switched to the new chicken I just cant find interest to go anymore. The texture to me was much better before. It used to be cubed and now boiled, marinated and pulled? Super friendly staff. Nice fresh ingredients, but its just not the same. :(

Enjoyed delicious tacos, burritos and quesadillas. Fresh, colorful ingredients, nice staff, good prices and selection. Will definitely eat here again.

  • Colleen J.

Ok. I have to update and I cannot allow my 5 star rating to continue. The food is still great - BUT - for the price, the portions are too small. Now listen, I'm not some obese maurice needing 2lbs of lard every meal, but you just don't get what you pay for. The tacos are smallish and you have to pay for chips if you want them. In other news, I recently had the migas breakfast taco and it was off the hook. Prices could be better, but I'm still a fan of course.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch one day and we were pleasantly surprised. The interior is really cool, the staff is fun, friendly and quick with service. I ordered the blackened fish taco and it was awesome! I ordered it in the soft tortilla shell and it was really good. The tacos are pretty big and the price is very affordable. I will go back again many times in the future. If you hit the spot in West Ashley at the right time the traffic is not too bad so you can get in, eat and get back out to wherever you need to go and enjoy the whole experience. The Taco Spot is cool, eclectic, funky, fun, and has great tacos.

  • Chris M.

Great tacos at decent price. Was impressed by their originality and the quality of their ingredients. Their homemade peach hot sauce is delicious as well. One of those great "hole in the wall" joints. Will def be coming back here.

Good stuff! Used to eat there weekly, before I moved. Blackened fish (grouper) and Lowcountry chicken and hot sausage are my favorites.

  • A Z.

Yum! Great hole in the wall funky little taco joint. Fresh, reasonably priced and accompanied by a selection of hot sauces. Nice to still find places like this in a land of boring chains and this place isn't trying so hard like Taco Boy.

  • Shannon C.

We were very excited to see that our favorite Folly taco shop has reopened in West Ashley. They are currently only serving take out and delivery orders, but cannot wait until more seating is opened soon. My favorite is the blackened grouper taco!

One word...fish tacos! (fishtacos?) Great little place, very easy to miss, but worth the time to stop by and try it. And did I mention the fish tacos? Make sure to get at least 2, 'cause they're on the smallish side, but mostly because they're so good!

    (4)
  • Marika K.

Yum. Bleu cheese taco is fantastic, twice baked potato things remind me of Knish's in nYC.

    (4)
  • Matthew K.

Its a taco place....what can it do to set itself apart? Freshly cook fresh ingredients and make some fantastic tacos. Using flour tortillas they make soft shell and their own hard shell tacos. We got blackened chicken and seasoned beef that were both very good. Prices weren't bad, four tacos and two drinks for $18. Well worth the visit...especially because we choose not to go too the BBQ joint next door. Will be back again to try some burritos and quesidillas! Not many seats so be prepared to take it to go or wait for a seat!

I had a burrito with spicy steak. Very good and stuffed full of yummies! They have great taco happy hours throughout the week. Yum! Yum!

Food is so fresh and delicious. Great for those that prefer more of a tex-next style of Mexican food. Small space. Not good for a large crowd. Food is awesome and reasonable.

Very quaint place. Limited seating but that's okay. I had the Thursday $5 big burrito special. Should have gone with the taco recommendation. I will try again and let you know.

  • Jason L.

I'm coughing up another star for Taco Spot. The folks who work here are really nice, and that goes a long way. Still not the best tacos in town, but enough pluses to earn four stars: good service, nice taco selection, decent specials ($2 tacos for cash customers during certain times in the afternoon), booze choices, comfortable low-rent homespun atmosphere, and good enough tacos that are, at least, very consistently prepared with care by the staff. Do go ahead and order breakfast tacos (migas!), grouper tacos, special taco, or from the dealer's choice menu. That's where the good stuff is. I get a kick out of listening to the music when I'm here. It is obviously someone's personal music collection, ranging from cool stuff like Springsteen to egregious jam band covers of classic rock songs. On the downside, the parking lot is small, has a steep angle, and is scary-close to a difficult section of 61. Be careful pulling into Taco Spot, and keep in mind that turning left (north) back onto 61 may be impossible at some times.

    (4)
  • Jennifer T.

Great food for takeout. We are there and we're really cramped. The fish and steak tacos are awesome! The queso dip was too expensive for the amount in the bowl.

    (4)
  • Sandy S.

By far BEST tacos I've ever had. Hands down. The ingredients were so fresh and the flavors were unlike any taco I've ever had! Not fancy just plain GOOD! I would recommend the original fish taco, steak taco, ground beef, and quesadilla! Staff was also very helpful and friendly. Don't walk.... RUN to the Taco Spot!!!!!

    (5)
  • Sydney G.

Ok, so I agree with Colleen J.'s review. The tacos are bangin', but for the price, you really don't get a lot. Plus, I feel like recently things have been not so consistent from trip to trip. I like that they're faster than Taco Boy (and closer to my house), but if I have to choose between the two, I'll go the extra distance to Taco Boy. My favorite tacos: blackened chicken on crunchy shell, blackened fish on corn. Quesadillas are just kind of meh. Never had a burrito, but the guy next to me said they're awesome. The queso is good, but also not mexican queso, which kind of threw me off. Plus it's 2.79 for a 2oz cup, which is ridiculous. We went last night and got 4 tacos and a small cheese dip and chips, and it cost like $17 dollars before tip. I just think that's kind of crazy.

    (4)
  • Amy Lauren S.

We went here last night and it was tasty! I had a fish taco and a vegetarian taco, both on corn tortillas. I'm not usually a huge fan of fish tacos, but I really liked this one a lot! I can see why it was named the best Fish Taco in Charleston. It had a light sauce on it, too. The vegetarian taco was also delicious, with beans and rice inside it, and mild taco sauce on the side (I did put a little of the sauce on my fish taco, too. My husband had a steak quesadilla, which wasn't enough food for him, so he went back up and ordered a fish taco to try- he really liked it too. We also shared the three dip sampler- the queso is quite delicious!! However, you do have to pay for the chips and dips here, unlike many Mexican/Taco restaurants. Also, there aren't too many places to park or eat inside, so you might want to get your food to go if possible. If you have a large group like 10-12 people, you'd probably take up the entire restaurant. The portions aren't super big either, so be prepared to order a good bit of food. We really liked it and would return.

After a long day of disheartening attempts at finding a place to live, The Taco Spot did indeed hit the spot and brighten our spirits. They claim to have "the best fish tacos in all of Charleston", and I'm not sure how hefty the competition in Chucktown is for this crown nor have I sampled other fish tacos in the area, but I can attest to the fact that the fish tacos here are darn good. Adopting the "when in Rome" mantra, I ordered one each of the original fish and blackened fish tacos both on soft corn tortillas. They were killer, and the soft corn tortillas were delicious. I especially liked the cilantro soy aioli on the original fish taco. The fish in each taco was well prepared, and the fish to lettuce/tomato/cheese ratio was just about right (as there was definitely a decent amount of fish). To accompany the tacos, we ordered up some guacamole and nacho chips as a starter. The guacamole was fresh, creamy, and delicious. Bottom line: this guac was good. Another selling point of this joint is the wide variety of hot sauces offered up by the taco bar area. I picked a couple that I knew I liked and proceeded to slather them on my tacos, and one of the waitresses was kind enough to bring back a bottle of a peach flavored "slow burn" hot sauce that she said came highly recommended. Boy oh boy, was she right! All in all, this is definitely a spot worth checking out, and I'm sure I'll be back when I move to the Charleston area (clearly I'm planning on checking out their downtown take-out/delivery spot as well). The menu also boasts burritos, quesadillas, and a ton of specialty tacos that are quite intriguing. Though I think it'll be hard to pull myself away from those fish tacos... Minor downsides of the establishment are the lack of parking (it's got one of those pull up front lots with slanted spaces and potential "scrape up the bottom of your car" pull-outs) and the fact that there is not a ton of seating inside. However, the delicious food, friendly staff, and abundant hot sauces more than overshadow these minor drawbacks!

I Highly Recommend this place. The Blackened Fish Tacos are to die for. The House hot suace is one of a kind as well. I eat the fish tacos at least once a week if not more. Have tried some other items on the menu and have never been let down. These guys know how to make a damn good taco!

  • Rebecca D.

My boyfriend and I used to go at least once a week. With our busy schedules, it's now like once a month. But this makes it so special each time we go! The staff are always friendly and the food is so so good! We always split the 4 oz queso and add some sriracha hot sauce that gives it a perfect kick! I usually get a meat the potatoes and a teriyaki steak experience taco. My boyfriend loves the veg burritos. We also share the special of the day frequently which ranges from tacos, burritos or quesadillas. Parking can be tricky, but it's worth it. Taco Spot will forever be my neighborhood taco dealer!!!! ¡Viva Tacos!

    (5)
  • Dan O.

I just found this place recently. The burritos are good but I sometimes feel like they don't put much in them. They do have very flavorful and ingredients, like the blackened grouper or blackened steak, and wide variety of hot sauces which is nice. I probably would have given them 3 stars for the lack of substance in their burritos, but I only eat there on 5 dollar burrito Thursday - so for that price I feel like I get what I'm paying for. Anything more than 5 bucks is over charging.

  • Bill M.

We have a new number one. Juanita Greenburg's shrimp taco will have to move over (or at least share the number one spot). I'm on a quest to discover if West Ashley restaurants are less stuffy and less expensive than the downtown or East Cooper options. Taco Spot has me thinking I'll continue the quest. The outside is easy to miss and might be a little scary. It's not fancy, stuck in a little (I mean little) strip mall, next to a Japanese restaurant. The inside is a bit "rustic", but don't be dissuaded, the food is awesome. It felt like a taco stand in a building. I got into that. There is limited seating in the back, but again, rustic. The menu consists of tacos and burritos. The price is right too. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I had a grouper soft taco that lived up to the hype. I also had a spicy ginger wrap that was spicy and delicious. The wife had two excellent fish tacos. There are plenty of interesting sauces lined up on the bar, leaving little doubt you'll find the sauce that fits your taste. The tab, including a beer for each of us was less than $25. I was full when I left. That's the kind of deal I'm looking for. I can't wait to return to try more.

Very tasty homemade tacos. Both the chef and the owner are culinary graduates and it shows in the quality of food. I've mentioned the restaurant so many times since we've been there. The fish tacos were the best I've ever had. Affordable, tasty...and the array of hot sauces available are mind boggling.

  • J R.

Excellent fish tacos. The best I have had on the East Coast. Cozy and cool place with a uber friendly staff. Price is pretty high for the portion size, but I'm willing to overlook that due to how good the food was.

  • Matthew K.

I absolutely love getting lunch at Taco Spot. I went there just the other day and order the two grouper tacos. They melt in your mouth like butter and are absolutely delicious. I have actually never ordered anything but those two tacos because I don't get there as often as I would like.

This is the best taco joint and Charleston I feel sorry for you. Food was nasty. The Thai taco has absolutely nothing to do with Thai food. I ordered water and was given a very warm glass of water with no ice. Skip it.

  • Ginny L.

Fish tacos were OK. Black beans have zero flavor. The buff chicken taco was good. I'd try it again because I've heard such great reviews but it was in the middle for me.

  • tom j.

First of all, the place is small, but pretty cool; especially for the area. Secondly, the service was excellent, a very pleasant local girl took our order, and was quite friendly. Third, the food really wasn't that great, and not a stellar value. Nice hot sauce selection, this was the redeeming factor of the food portion of our visit. Don't waste your money on side dishes, they suck. (sides very small, and very bland) This place may be best when visited during the very limited, 2 hour happy hour. I hope they keep their happy, helpful helper at the counter, because this place kind of sucks otherwise.

    (3)
  • Brian L.

I was excited, then disappointed but full. The most remarkable thing about Taco Spot is the lineup of 40+ hot sauces along the counter. The prices and taste of the food are average - obviously you're getting something better than Taco Hell, but I found they just about "got the job done." The fish tacos are the best item and they know it. But I think they can improve. There was a lot of cheese and cilantro-aioli in the standard taco which overwhelmed the otherwise fresh taste. Design of the items was definitely more Americanized than Mexican, with the aforementioned cheese playing too large a role. It was a good thing we went for power hour (4-5pm) - $2 tacos, $4 burritos, $1 drinks, because otherwise I'd be bitching about paying $20 for a fast food meal. Oh, and the seating area in the back is a bit of an appetite killer - unfortunately the restroom is pretty much in the middle of the dining room and there was not much effort put into making the booths welcoming.

Best tacos in town! They're fresh and tasty and built and served by friendly people who appreciate their customers. The fish taco is superb with the crispy taco and lots of fish and really fresh veggies. Pots of chocolate custard are so rich and chocolatety that two could share- but you won't want to.

Definitely not the "best" fish tacos in Charleston, but not bad. Good quality fish and prepared well, but lacking in flavor, which I found surprising considering the descriptions of the seasonings and sauces. The chicken tacos were just as 'ok'. I was hoping for a little more, based on these reviews, especially after spending $10 on 3 tacos and a water... There is a parking lot out front but, a) it's difficult to get in/out of due to the angle of the parking spaces and the proximity to Ashley River Rd, and b) spaces are limited.

Seeing as I've only been here once, I only have a single experience to go off of. But to be honest, I don't really anticipate returning. If I happen to return, it probably wont be for awhile but I'd be okay with giving them a second chance. There was just nothing to the meals. They weren't "bad"by any means, but I would definitely say my burrito was bland. I got the special they had on the board which was with spicy sausage and eggs. The sausage was phenomenal, but the eggs weren't seasoned at all and with tortillas being bland there was just no flavor there. I had to bathe it in hot sauce to add a little something. But... both the gal at the register and the gentleman cooking seemed nice :)

Ok I from California where fish tacos originated..... This place hands down has better!

Not good. Fish was mushy, guac was bland. All was bland.....even the chips. Not the most jovial place either. Thank you for the response. I'd be happy to give you another shot.

YUM. This is my latest obsession. Their tacos are delicious and I love all the different combinations. My fav so far is the Blackened Fish and Caribbean. They are fast and priced reasonable.

    (5)
  • Lisa S.

I Highly Recommend this place. The Blackened Fish Tacos are to die for. The House hot suace is one of a kind as well. I eat the fish tacos at least once a week if not more. Have tried some other items on the menu and have never been let down. These guys know how to make a damn good taco!

This is the best taco joint and Charleston I feel sorry for you. Food was nasty. The Thai taco has absolutely nothing to do with Thai food. I ordered water and was given a very warm glass of water with no ice. Skip it.

Fish tacos were OK. Black beans have zero flavor. The buff chicken taco was good. I'd try it again because I've heard such great reviews but it was in the middle for me.

Excellent fish tacos. The best I have had on the East Coast. Cozy and cool place with a uber friendly staff. Price is pretty high for the portion size, but I'm willing to overlook that due to how good the food was.

I absolutely love getting lunch at Taco Spot. I went there just the other day and order the two grouper tacos. They melt in your mouth like butter and are absolutely delicious. I have actually never ordered anything but those two tacos because I don't get there as often as I would like.

The Salsa had too much tomato paste. So I def wouldn't order that again. But the steak tacos were excellent.

This place is awesome. I had the veg taco which was delicious. Also the special was a cajun chicken burrito, nice and spicey. But the best part was the hot sauce selection..

One word...fish tacos! (fishtacos?) Great little place, very easy to miss, but worth the time to stop by and try it. And did I mention the fish tacos? Make sure to get at least 2, 'cause they're on the smallish side, but mostly because they're so good!

Yum. Bleu cheese taco is fantastic, twice baked potato things remind me of Knish's in nYC.

Yum! Great hole in the wall funky little taco joint. Fresh, reasonably priced and accompanied by a selection of hot sauces. Nice to still find places like this in a land of boring chains and this place isn't trying so hard like Taco Boy.

We were very excited to see that our favorite Folly taco shop has reopened in West Ashley. They are currently only serving take out and delivery orders, but cannot wait until more seating is opened soon. My favorite is the blackened grouper taco!
