I am a big fan of Red Lobster, and hubby and I collect coupons, I get coupons via e-mail, and we managed to eat seafood about twice a month. As we were on vacation (obviously, since we live in New Mexico), and had a gift card from our daughter, as well as coupons, we decided to eat at this location at the end of our day of sightseeing. I had the seafood/linguine bake with lobster, scallops, shrimp, and mussels, and it was really good--although too much for my tummy. Hubby had the lobster and shrimp skewer special and annihilated it. Those cheese/garlic biscuits are to die for and RL does a good job on salads. All was fine (except for rather slow service) until it came time to pay the check. We had three forms of payment: a small balance on one gift card, a $25.00 RL gift card, and my debit card. 35 minutes! later, we got our final check for the balance withdrawal from my debit, along with a return of the small gift card. They said that the RL gift card didn't have any funds on it---we got it for Christmas and daughter had the good sense to send her receipt with it. The manager tried and tried to get it to work, and ended up handling things another way, so we finally got out of there and back to our hotel. As was my nightly habit while we were on vacation, I logged onto my checking account to check my balance, only to find that the charge from the RL had been done twice. I called the manager and she said to wait a couple of days, and the charge was only a funds-hold charge, so three days later the duplicate had gone away. But I'm still perplexed that the gift card didn't work, and I hope that RL and the powers-that-be there have fixed the problem. Overall, we spent a lot more time and effort on that meal than was truly necessary, but the food was good.

Don't go here! My husband decided to take me out for dinner one night with a gift certificate for 'Red Lobster'. It had been a very hard day at work and I was so darn tired, I could barely get in the car to go back out. (Being in sales will do that to you) At any rate, when we walked in, there was a very rank odor, I mean RANK. The outside and inside of the restaurant are very outdated and old looking. Well... Since we had the gift certificate, we decided to go ahead and give it a try. The evening started off all right with a friendly server. We ordered a drink and proceeded to relax until I opened my napkin to place it on my lap and a roach ran out of it across my lap and scurried down the booth to the floor. That was enough for me... Although our food was compted, we never went back to that location. Now, being a Red Lobster fan from the early 70's and 80's, I thought I'd give it another try and went to a different location on Mall Drive. I don't know what it is, but this restaurant had the same rank odor as the one on Sam Rittenburg Blvd. Since I was with a group of co-workers, I didn't say anything. The food was allright, but again, the outside and inside of the restaurant needed a facelift... But no roaches, at least I didn't see any! I'll never go back!

I cannot believe how much I really enjoyed going here. I was expecting to be overwhelmed by the seafood smells and have a miserable time but to my surprise it wasn't. I've been promising to take my mother there for lunch or dinner and finally made it happen . The cheese bread was fresh warm and very delicious. I was glad that the atmosphere was pleasant and inviting. I had the clam chowder and the salad which Jared recommended on the lunch menu. Which my salad included about 5 shrimps. The salmon, lobster tail and grilled shrimp that my mother had made her gloriously happy especially the green beans which she announced was cooked to perfection.

Never. Eat. Here. Angela is THE WORST server I have ever had. Upon walking in, no one greeted us. They seemed to be confused we wanted a table and then it took them five minutes to figure out if that was possible. After being seated, our food arrived and was mediocre. Fries needed new oil. Salmon was incredibly fishy and flavorless. In addition to this, I ordered one crab cake and what I got was a measly little one inch burnt crab cake. Here's the real kicker. When I got my bill that same little crab cake was $7!!! I asked the waiter about it and she VERY rudely laughed and said "well you asked for a crab cake, didn't you..." When I said yes she replied with "well yeah. Ha. They're expensive." With the most sarcastic sorry ever. I have never felt so offended by a waiter. As someone who works in the hospitality industry, I am appalled that Angela could behave this way to a guest. Never returning to this franchise again.

Looking back, I have no idea what possessed us to actually eat here. Maybe it was those 20 year old memories of going to one in California as a child. Anyway, it was epically awful. Service was terrible--waiter left and never came back and had to find two other people to help us. Lobster and shrimp were overlooked and clearly frozen. And it's just expensive. Go eat ANYWHERE ELSE IN CHARLESTON.

My wife and I had a great experience at the Red Lobster. Our server Margaret was wonderful, friendly and right on the ball. Our food was delicious and hot. I had the clam strips and stuffed mushrooms. wow! well done. My wife had the tilapia and vegetables, she was pleased as well.

I walked into Red Lobster at 1pm to order Take Out. After I was shown to the take out counter, I was completely ignored. No one helped me, greeted me, or even looked at me. I waited a few moments while people talked, allowing them the courtesy of finishing their conversation, or waiting for someone to come back from the bathroom, or for someone to simply acknowledge that Red Lobster had a customer that they valued. Nothing. Finally, I spoke up loudly, and a non-employee called over to someone working on a machine, and the greeter came over to call him by name. The response, with his back to me and not directed to me, was that he'd get to me in a moment. His attitude to me was that HIS time was more valuable than my time and my money. From this interaction of a few minutes, it seems clear that Red Lobster does not value my business.

Roaches in the bathroom. Calamari stunk big time. Clam strips were advised by my waiter as kind of a one of a kind thing. They were dreadful plastic frozen. Ugh so disappointing overall. Service I would say is good if their suggestions weren't aimless.

Amber K is possibly the best waitress I have ever had at a Red Lobster. She took care of me from the minute I sat down. The food was fresh. My salad was crisp. And Amber made me laugh... What more could one want?

I had the tastiest salmon and shrimp pasta ever. Went down smoothly with a nice Yeung Ling. Friendly and quick service.

I got the Admirals Feast to go and was very disappointed. The crab legs were missing, lobster tall incredibly small and it was VERY skimpy. Biscuits are always good but I didn't get that or salad dressing for my salad either.
