Greek Cuisine
Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary. The people from Greek were great scholars who aimed to excel in everything they do. The results are quite visible in their food as they are the inventors of olive oil which is beneficial to health. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.
Today, you can find hundreds of restaurants offering authentic Greek food or popularly termed as Mediterranean cuisine in New York city alone. People wait in line to taste the exotic Greek dishes like saganaki, taramasalata, souvlaki, loukoumades, spanakopita, moussaka, and many more. One thing which most people like about these authentic Greek dishes is abundant use of lemon juice, olive oil, fresh rosemary and sea salt. A smart mix of few ingredients can virtually take you on the pebble streets of beautiful city of Greece.
For those who don't have time to enjoy fine dining should try tasting the famous souvlaki with pita which is type of meat dish, also a trademark Greek fast food. For those who are vegetarian, or vegan can try different versions of Greek Salad. So, if you wish to enjoy a hearty yet healthy meal that tastes divine then try dining at the best Greek restaurant in your city. Greek cuisine not only tastes good but also help maintain your body in a natural way through healthy diet.

Lamb shawarma is my favorite! (Plus, it's fun to say...shawarma!) Comes with a side for a whopping total of 8 bucks. Great deal for the portion. I prefer the Greek green beans instead of the potatoes. Not your typical green bean. These have lots of flavor! The lamb is served on a big fluffy pita. No extra points for atmosphere but that doesn't faze me b/c I like to call ahead for take-out. The guy who runs the place is calm and very polite.

Tucked away in a small shopping center, this place needs more attention, because it's wonderful. I've been here twice so far, and both times the service was wonderfully attentive, and everything I ate was delicious. It's just a little place, nothing fancy, so for those who are looking for "atmosphere," you're not going to find that here, but if you want good food, check it out.

Good food and very reasonably priced! If your looking for a great little classic Mediterranean style diner with a nice variety of options on James Island, try this place. When I need a break from bar food,Mexican or barbeque( which we have in abundance) I usually head for Odyssey. Definitely a much healthier option than many of the island's choices! The only thing I'd change would be the addition of some backround music. A little hard to find but worth it!

I totally agree that this is a hidden gem. The food is amazing. My favorites are the lemon chicken soup and both of the Mezes plates. I strongly recommend the Odyssey over any other local spot if you're looking for delicious, fresh food.

This place is a JI hidden gem. It is hard to see from Folly Rd but is tucked into the Shoppes of Folly, by Walgreens. The menu for this restaurant is extensive and it is all delicious. From the specialty sodas to the homemade desserts, this place is on point. They have everything from authentic Greek and Mediterranean pastas, kabob, seafood, all made with fresh ingredients and most to order. There are some GF options for both entree and dessert (almond cookies). Nadine, the server that's there the most, is an absolute pleasure. She is so attentive and informative. It has a cozy feel on the inside and is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. Go and enjoy right away!

Ended up here tonight on a whim and really enjoyed the meal as well as the service. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious - the kebabs in particular were great! I highly recommend you try it.

This place is amazing! It's hidden from the road but right next to Walgreens and the shopping center with cricket and ecig. The food is great and the menu has many items to choose from. All items are fresh and the desserts are amazing. You cannot go wrong at this place and one of the best gyros in town!

I'm not sure who's been giving this place 5 stars but here's a review from our actual eat-in experience. 1. Interior is plain white industrial. No music, no atmosphere, just a small ugly cafeteria feel to it. Think Dreary. 2. The food is mostly canned. We know Greek food--all the names are there and sound lovely (Spanakopita , Tzatziki, Baba Ganoush, etc), but the actual food tasted so plain: it's been either saved and reheated for several days per recipe or it's canned. Even the so-called Greek Salad was just plain lettuce, tomatoes, about 2 kalamata olives thrown on top and some feta. Small, boring, nothing like the greek salads we've experienced in other cities where the flavors burst in your mouth and leave pleasant, lingering tastes afterwards. 3. This must be some kind of take out place for busy families who need food they don't really intend to eat or something. We'll never go there again.

Surprisingly good. Given the location and lack of decor you don't expect much. However, the Dosa's are unique and very tasty. Like an indian Dosa, but Mediterranean flavor and light. Pick your own ingredients. The chicken and lamb are ok, could be more tender. Grape leaves, baba ganouch are great, as are many of the home made desserts. The owner and waitress are very kind. Give it a try.

This humble little place with lack of street exposure and little decor in a strip mall is one of our James Island favorites. Staffed and appears to be owned by a lovely family. The food has been very good each time, even for kids and in-laws (in-laws are more picky). We don't go back too often because the variety for us (partly vegetarian family) is more limited than for meat eaters, but we always look forward to the next time.

The meal is awesome, don't get me wrong is still love eat-a-pita. But the odyssey has it right we traditional Greek food. No complaints. The Greek salad was awesome and the metze plate 1 was great and the lamb and beef gyro was spot on. They tzajiki sauce is home made you can taste the yogurt and the cucumbers, I recommend asking for extra sauce just to make it that much better. Also the staff is great and friendly no bad things to say about this place!
