We decided to try this new place and unfortunately were very disappointed. I will say however that our server was very nice. I ordered the Veal Piccata and it was over-cooked and the pasta hardly had any sauce so it tasted like pure noodles; not sure where the lemon and white wine was but it wasn't in my dish. My husband had the pasta with sausage and marinara sauce and it was horrible. There were burnt pieces all over the place and he flipped several over so the server could see, but she never said anything when she took his 1/2 eaten plate. The only reason he ate 1/2 was because he was starving, otherwise would not have eaten any of it. We hate complaining so hopefully the owner will read this and consider some changes. Speaking of the owner, he was there walking around with a windex bottle in his running attire then hanging at the bar with his chefs. The chefs were in and out the entire time as well and we are guessing for a smoke break? I think this owner should focus on checking the food and monitoring the kitchen rather than sitting at the bar. Our favorite Italian restaurant is still the Wild Olive and have never had a meal anything less than outstanding. Their chef is there every night sampling each plate before it leaves the kitchen and you can see him in action! He does reject things on occasion!! I hope someone at Little Italy is reading this and taking notes! You need to fix your food or you will not survive!! I know there is a market for people that don't care that much and will think your food is ok, but is that what you aspire to be?

Once again, some of the best resturants are located in strip malls. This is one of them. Good Italian food, with variations that you can make. This place needs time to make it all perfect. The service is a little slow, but not a real problem. Everything seems fresh. I like it and will return. Frank G

We had a very nice experience at dinner - this place has the feel of a friendly small neighborhood place. Very attentive staff, good food, extremely reasonable prices. From the crusty bread and olive oil starter, to the salads and main courses, we were very pleased with the experience. Wife had the eggplant parmesan, and I had the special braised beef ravioli with mushroom sauce. The menu mostly sticks with the traditional italian favorites, but everything was well executed. We will definitely be back.

First time here and have been waiting for it to open. We need good Italian in west ashley ( la Fontana is not good). We got pasta and cavatelli app and antipasta salad. Food was excellent but service needs some work. I'm sure they will dial it In and we will be back soon.

This newly opened restaurant was well received by my family and me recently. Everyone was very polite and attentive. The food was really delicious (especially the lasagna). The calamari was fantastic too as was the bread with a dish of herbed olive oil. The Sicilian Banana Bread Pudding was similarly very good. All of the dishes seemed prepared with an extra bit of care. The prices all seemed reasonable. We definitely plan to visit there again and hope that they do well.

We were looking for our new Italian restaurant in town since we just moved here. We randomly drove by Little Italy's and decided to try it. And I have to say the food is amazing! My fiancé and I both loved our meals. The place is like your old school Italian restaurant and is very comfy. I highly let recommend eating here!

Three of us came for supper. Two were happy. One was totally dissatisfied. She ordered Veal Marsala over Angel Hair pasta. The pasta was so overcooked it was like paste. We mentioned to server who said she bring more pasta -- it didn't happen. Finally asked to talk to Sara, the owner, who gave credit on bill. But at the point, my wife had already walked out. On the positive side, the fried meatball, calamari, and Antipasto appetizers were great as was the cannoli. But sorry Sara, we won't be back when my boss is that mad about the service.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
