Not bad, Is about what i have to say, the Tenders were good, albeit a bit greasy. The wing's were good, the sauce i ordered was pretty warm and a bit odd for what is considered "buffalo". The Cornbread is very good. Pricing seems high for a fast food style place.

Well...I don't know what I think about this place. For one any place that gives you free boiled peanuts is alright in my book. Any place that specializes in chicken wings and tenders is one that calls Matthews name. Now, let me get into the food. The chicken tenders were not the highlight of my meal, they were rather greasy but tasted good. The fries and coleslaw were very good; some of the best I have had in Charleston. Numerous types if sauces to try as well, also, if you have read my other reviews you know I love sauces. Hubee D's loses a a star because of greasy chicken and overall lackluster performance. In would rather go down the road to Zaxby's for a chicken sandwich.

After church on Sunday we drove by this place, went in and after placing our order we were sooo happy we stopped! Chris ordered the chicken sandwich and I had the blue chicken wrap. We got our drinks and the complementary boiled peanuts. The lady brought our food and it was enormous! Fresh hand cut fries an the sauce bar was awsome with all kinds of sauces and vinegar for the fries, which I love. It was a great experience especially when you have kids!

Definitely some of the best chicken tenders I've ever had and their sauces are amazing. Also, how can you not love a place that has boiled peanuts?? The staff was very friendly, and the service was quick.

Besides Page's Okra Grill, this is the other MUST GO place in Charleston. I don't make a trip to the low country without stopping here. There are chicken places and then there is Hubee D's. The sauces are awesome and the skin on fries are too. You can't go wrong here for a cheap and great tasting lunch.

Delicious boneless wings and shoe string fries! I have been to this location a couple of times and I believe it is much better than they Mount Pleasant location. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable as to the menu. The seriously hot wings are actually seriously hot at this location and the corn bread was very moist. My only gripe is that they don't give enough ranch with the wings, that is a gripe for me everywhere though as I dip every bite into ranch. I recommend the Boneless Wing Meal with seriously hot wing sauce. The meal comes with shoe string fries, celery, and cornbread. Drinks are separate and their sweet tea is pretty good as well.

With so many places around to get Chicken Tenders (Zaxby's, Raising Cane's, Hardees) and Buffalo Wings (Buffalo Wild Wing, Wild Wing Cafe, etc.), one would think that it would be tantamount to commercial suicide to dive into that market...or at least that one would be somewhat insane. Well, maybe insanity is what it takes to succeed. Admittedly, I have not (yet) tried their Buffalo Wings, but Hubee D's has the absolute best chicken tenders anywhere in the Lowcountry. Their salads are out of this world, too! And their desserts (frozen banana pudding and fried banana pudding) are absolutely sinful! I have been a fan since the very first time I tried them back in September, shortly after they opened their doors. I was across town (I live in Mount Pleasant) taking my daughter to pick up her violin. Hubee D's is right in the same shopping center, so we stopped in for a bite to eat. At first, I thought they were a national chain that I had never heard of. The decor and logo just had that feel to it. I was very surprised to learn after researching a bit more when I got home that they are a local establishment and this is their first location. Well, I couldn't wait to take my wife and son back across town to try them out. They're both now hooked, too! The kids love the desserts and the little poker chip they get to hold on to until they're ready to claim their dessert. My daughter loves popping quarters into the jukebox. My wife and I just love the food. So far, I've been to Hubee D's probably two dozen times since they've opened. Considering that I live in Mt. P., and considering the cost of gas - that says a lot. It's well worth the drive!

So every once in a while I crave chicken tenders. Like, they are all I will talk about for at least a week. I dream about chicken tenders. Last time it happened, I broke down and went to Chili's. BAM. FAIL. I had a ridic stomach ache for the rest of the evening. So when this place opened I was really excited to try it, I mean, an entire food joint dedicated to the worship of chicken tenders??? Yes please. I've been here twice now and I will be back many more. The chicken is fresh and not incredibly greasy. Fries were delish. Cole slaw and salads were really fresh as well. Their big item appears to be the banana pudding, which I have only had the frozen version of but I can assure you that alone is amazing. This place is great for the fried chicken fix without having to settle for frozen or super greasy substitutes. 5 stars hands down!

Overall -- great place to stop in for lunch or dinner. Chicken nuggets were VERY hot when they were brought to our table, I am not used to having to let my food cool down in settings like this. The fries were decent but a little salty. Something was a little spicy but I could never pinpoint exactly what it was. Free boiled peanuts were a great touch. Overall, not a bad place.

Small biz, eat inside or out, small menu is to perfection. 'Gotta love chicken/wings/flavors and peanuts! 'Love this place and it's flavor options. Trying to take advantage of their catering menu; looks great. Keep up the great work and friendly staff.

Good food. Great wings. Awesome sauce bar. And you get free boiled peanuts!!! Friendly service and fries that are amazing. The owner is really nice

Delicious and wonderful service. Will often comp your drinks or a side just because. I recommend this place to everyone

Wondrous chicken. The chicken here is significantly better than the other chicken joints down here. While Raising Cane's might be a rival in terms of juiciness, it doesn't come close in terms of flavor. The flavor is just out of this world. I especially like their hot sauces, although hot is a relative term because they were not very hot. On a scale of 1 to crying, the heat is about 2 or so. When I go out and eat, I feel that I should be crying while eating it. No tear production is just not going to cut it. That said, it is very good buffalo style hot sauce. The fries are also extremely good. They put on this special seasoning that while I am not sure what it is called, if it were called something, I would call it "Awesome Spice." Lastly the sweet tea is some of the best you can get in the Charleston area. It is succulently sweet and I am always lingering for more. This place is a must go. Apparently their banana pudding is to die for, but I have yet to try it.

This place is the best fast food tenders and wings around. It puts kickin chicken to shame. Try the fried banana pudding.

Not bad but didn't live up to the hype of previous yelp reviews. I'll start out with the pros. Pros: love the look and ambiance, great job on branding the concept with stickers, t-shirts, etc. Fried banana pudding was great but was overpowered by chocolate syrup and for the price should have been served ala mode, very clean, hourly employees very attentive. Cons: wouldn't make a simple custom request, tenders tasted over marinated, wings over powered by smokey flavor, wing sauces were not good at all but there was a wide variety of choices,"house sauce" was overpowered by black pepper. The look and feel was awesome but since it's all about the food that's why I have to give it a lower rating.

Great Lightly breaded chicken tenders. Like a zaxbys but so much better! Smoked wings are great. Great flavor and awesome sauces to choose from. The absolute best hand cut fries.

Fun place to eat. When you can have free boiled peanuts life is good! Plus they have this large tray of sauces to choose from. I had the 3 piece chicken tenders with slaw (their making my list!), corn bread (amazing!) and fries. Delicious! Wife had a chicken salad wrap, super big. the restroom was really clean but they had no paper towels, went to the front and told them. Goodness two folks jumped right on it! Sweet! Staff was really freindly and made our late supper adventure good.

Four things you must get when you go to Hubee D's: 1) Boiled Peanuts (free!) 2) Wings 3) Goat Island Deelight Salad (or wrap) 4) Fried Banana Pudding Hubee D's is always clean, and the food is always great. There isn't that much seating inside, but they do have a nice outside area for overflow. The staff is always friendly and will often come around to deliver your food or take away your plates if you've finished up before leaving. Free boiled peanuts while you wait. Salads can be made into wraps. Unlimited sauces right there for you to dish yourself. The wings are said to be some of the best in the city. The fried banana pudding is...well...it speaks for itself. They also cater and are a great option for tailgates during football season!

This is the best chicken strip joint that I have ever been a patron of. We have gone here many many times since they first opened a few years ago, and it has found a special place in our hearts for when we feel like gorging on delicious fried foods that we wouldn't normally partake in. I generally get the chicken strip basket, which comes with fries (amazing), corn bread, and slaw. The Hubee D's sauce is very tasty and I use it for both my fries as well as my chicken. They have plenty of other sauces but I always come back to the Hubees. While the chicken is always awesome, I am going to dedicate this paragraph to how good the fries are. I will literally just come here to order fries. They are that good. They always come out hot and fresh and I don't think I like anyone else's fries as much as I like Hubee D's. If you haven't gotten the hint yet, you should definitely try this place. I deduct one star because occasionally over the years the tables are sticky when we sit down, which is gross, but overall the restaurant is clean and the staff is hard working for Charleston. Protip: They have hot boiled peanuts for you to munch on while you wait for your food. Awesome!

This place does one thing and does it very very well! Try some boiled peanuts before your food arrive, they're delish. Great customer service and quality food that never disappoints! If you like fried chicken, drop by this place!
(5)Tiffany P.
All the reviews I read were spot on. Great chicken tenders, they are not heavy like you find at some places, they are lightly battered. Good fries, the best corn bread and the fried banana pudding was sinful. Next time I want to try the banana pudding pops.

Food is so good. Freshness can be tasted. Adequate quantities, awesome flavor and so many dipping sauces. Only problem is country music. Came here because agent 89 Steve Smith eats here.

The Best Service and Food since I've been home for the Christmas Holidays! The Food came out quickly and was Delicious. I will come here every time I'm in Charleston. I Shared a Great meal with my Family. The Chicken Wrap was Fabulous and Fresh! Eat as many Boiled Peanut as you can!!

So good! I was a bit skeptical for no reason and so impressed! LARGE meaty chicken wings. The jerk was my fav! Also the chicken salad wrap was one of the best I have ever had. Will def go back!

For the record, I didn't know this was a fast food joint when I placed my order for pickup so I shouldn't bash them, but the food was pretty terrible. I wouldn't go back here. They have a bunch of sauces, and who doesn't like sauces? Well I like sauces, but mostly when they are put on good food. The food at Hubbee Ds isn't good. Time to reevaluate my life and stop drinking so I'm not too hungover to go to decent restaurants.
