Disappointing. First of all, if you are upscale Italian why not serve a decent house wine? Doesn't have to be top notch but should be better than a below avg supermarket wine. Next, cold bread isn't cutting it. Olive Garden has warm bread. Eggplant app was good but lukewarm temperature. Entrees were all below avg. Veal was chewy, orange sauce on crabcakes was overwhelming (good crabcakes do not need to be covered in sauce) and pan seared tuna special lacked taste and was a little tough. Service was ok but waiter appeared to be bored and going through the motions. For prices charged, they need to do a lot better.

Had the displeasure of trying their new pizzeria in Bluffton. The service was terrible, how could a server not know what "on tap" means? The when we told her she still brings us two bottles. She got the order wrong also. As for the pizza, horrible. The sausage wasn't even Italian sausage. There was nothing good to say about this experience. Stay away!!

The atmosphere here is very charming. From the moment I walked in it felt warm and inviting. I was not very keen on the paper covers on the white tablecloth, it seemed to make the arrangement look cheap. My waitress was very friendly and accommodating to my requests for wine pairings. She let me sample two wines and picked a perfect match for what I wanted. The menu had a couple spelling errors on it as well as a few misplaced letters in the dish descriptions which worried me a little. Attention to detail is something I look for in someone who is preparing my food, so this immediately put me on guard to look for other things. The floors were very clean. Which is a lot to say for an establishment that serves crumbly cheeses and crispy breads. The wall art was very minimal but there were a few pieces that were cheap and kitschy looking. After I placed my order, I was brought bread, oil, tapenade and some grated cheese. The bread was room temperature, cold even, so I was disappointed with that. I'm used to being served warm bread for an appetizer when I eat out, so this was a huge negative for me. However, the roasted red pepper tapenade and grated cheese was delicious. Had the bread been warm, this would have been the perfect way to start the meal. My food arrived promptly and was plated very nicely. It didn't sit under the hot plate for a long time like most places, but was served almost immediately as it hit the serving area. As I was waiting for my entree, I did notice a microwave that was getting very heavy use in the kitchen. This was another red flag for me. I hate the taste of microwaved food and if I go out to eat, I expect it not to be microwaved, otherwise, why go out?? My entree was, like I said, plated perfectly. It was a pleasure to look at and smelled wonderful. I ordered the Homemade Meatball Spaghetti and was hoping that my dish had avoided the microwave in the kitchen. I started to cut my meatballs and found out that it, unfortunately, hadn't. The meatballs had almost a rubbery texture and the inside, instead of being warm and juicy, was room temperature and dry. They would crumble apart and fall off my fork as I was trying to eat them. Very disappointing because the noodles and sauce had an amazing fresh taste. I ate half my plate and the waitress boxed up the rest for me to take home. I got my check and for an entree and a glass of Malbec, the price came to $31.27. I added a $10 tip totaling the bill to $41.27. After I was finished paying, I asked the waitress if any part of my dish had been microwaved, to which she answered, "Uhmm, yes... We bake the meatballs but we use the microwave to reheat them." I thanked her for her wonderful service and collected my things. The food here has the potential to be amazing, but as long as the microwave is used in the preparation of it, it will never reach above a three star for me. I don't expect to pay $41.27 for a meal that has anything on it that has been anywhere near a microwave. Other than that, I had a wonderful first time experience.

Had chicken Marsala...it was in a very watery bland sauce..like it was just splashed with Marsala wine. My wife had sausage and peppers.. Thinly sliced peppers..in what looked like the same clear broth style sauce the Marsala was in. The chicken itself was in a mushy breaded covering... All in all ...not very good sad to say.

My wife and I both know great Italian food growing up in Italian households, and that we are both originally from Long Island New York. Mulberry Street Trattoria located off of hwy 278 close to Bed Bath and Beyond is as close to Little Italy in the South as you will get. It is a family owned restaurant . They have an extensive menu from soups to salads pasta chicken seafood and real Italian deserts. Coffee and Cuppocinno. Full bar. If you are in the Bluffton area make sure that you stop by for the best Italian food in the South.

This is a beautiful restaurant. However there is always a bad night & last night was definitely not their best. We went for my birthday & made an 8:30 reservation. There was only 3 tables when we got there so I was hopeful that it word be a great experience. The server brought bread & tapenade which was delicious. We ordered the antipasto for our appetizer. My husband ordered chicken piccata. I ordered veal Marsala & my son got spinach ravioli with bolognese sauce. Our entrees came out & when I asked about our appetizer she said she had forgotten. My veal was a bit chewy & the Marsala sauce was a bit bland. The piccata & ravioli were delicious. I was a bit taken back by the fact that the pasta on the side came with a red sauce. Not something I am used to & not very pleasant when mixed with the piccata & Marsala. My son's sauce was a bit burnt. When we finally got our appetizer the fresh mozzarella was bland & the meats were very gamey. The only thing that saved the appetizer was the mushrooms & peppers & it was missing elements. However when the waitress asked how our meal was I was honest. We ordered dessert & as we were waiting the chef came out talk to us. She explained she took the veal & our desserts off our bill because of our experience & hoped we would give them another shot. Because of that I will be going back & I will review again & that's why they got 3 stars. Try them. You never know!

Was down in SC visiting relatives and they took me to Mulberry Street. This is a nice italian restaurant and the service was good, very pleasant people. The food was good and they had a nice wine selection. I would go back but I did think it was a little over priced for what you got. That said, I would not hesitate to go back and have a nice dinner.

Nice locale and decor and the service was welcoming and friendly. You will find a complete offering on the menu to suite different tastes... From seafood, pasta, to osso bucco. All tables are offered bread with a garlic/cheese/olive oil blend that is delicious. Try not to fill up on that! We ordered salmon in a mustard cream sauce and veal osso bucco. The salmon was a little too seared on one side but tasty. The side of risotto was delicious but too small. The osso bucco was a large dish in a light gravy sauce. It was very tasty but a tad dry. All in all, we had a pleasant experience.

Don't see many places around that offer flights of wine where one can try 3 nice Italian reds for $15. Dim lites. Cloth tablecloths. Candlelight. Gracious hostess. Few, if any, children. Great for romantic dinner but it is always crowded and tables are a little too close. Only neg is smaller sized portions. I had Special Menu Redfish w lite cheese sauce but fish filet was bite size. Pasta (Rigatoni) w/ Italian sausage very tasty-smallish portion. Anitpasto has very nice variety and is almost a meal in itself.

Great atmosphere with three different rooms to choose from, each with a different ambience. Great service, not rushed, not too long. Owner is a lovely woman who took an interest in her patrons. We didnt have reservations, but kindly accommodated us. Excellent food, just enough portion for dinner without being over the top. Great menu selection.

Our lunch was a bit disappointing. We had been several times before this most recent visit and found everything okay. Today our soup was luke warm and the marinara sauce watery. Bread was delicious. Service was good. 18 percent gratuity was added to the bill as we were with several other couples.

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
