I have lived in Anderson for 15 years and enjoy eating out often with my family. We have tried Tucker's on several occasions and their food is terrible! I don't know how they've stayed in business this long. During one of our visits I got potato soup and it was like eating straight flour. About the only tolerable thing on the menu is their salad and bread. Not enough to return.

When I looked at their rating before deciding to visit, it was only 3.5 stars. We almost didn't go but so glad we did. We sat on the patio. Very comfortable but the traffic was quite loud at times. Would be nicer if the patio was located in the back. Started with an appetizer of pesto flatbreads which were nice with our red wine. Then, we had probably the best She-Crab soup we have ever eaten - loaded with crap and unbelievably tasty. Could have made a meal off of just that. We sampled the Salmon Oscar, the crab dip, and the black-bean nachos. The nachos is a huge serving and quite tasty but the shrimp and crab dip was not nearly as good as the crab soup. The salmon was perfectly cooked and very nice. We were too full for any dessert. Service was good so overall and our waitress was fantastic. We would definitely go back. We felt they deserved a better rating for our visit than what their average was. May have just hit them on a really good night but all was good.

We love going to Tucker's. The service is great and so is the food. The server's are very professional and knowledgeable. Be sure to consider their specials, particularly the pasta dishes. They are very accommodating about ordering off-menu and willing to adjust dishes for vegetarians, ect. Several times we have been served appetizers compliments of the chef. We also enjoy eating outside on the patio. Be sure to try the warm bacon mustard salad dressing!

A nice step away from the chains located up and down Clemson Blvd. Service is usually A+ and the food is consistent. Club sandwich and She Crab soup with a touch of sherry are my favorites, Only suggestion is if you want a quieter seat avoid the center section that is a step down. That area typically is rather loud and crowded.

There was not one thing on the brunch buffet that I didn't like. I ate from the Sunday brunch and savored every bite of the top notch, all-you-can-eat breakfast and lunch items. The food is a good price, especially since you get far more than what you pay for. The buffet featured an overwhelming variety of unique, but not showy, foods (nothing like "its an American/Italian/Mexican/Chinese Restaurant", but still offers desireble, distinct dishes, such as German roast beef.) The restaurant also has nice long business hours, great service, good ambience, and pepper grinders. I definitely recommend this restaurants as one of the best Anderson has to offer.

The food is equivalent to that of Applebee's which was across the street or Chili's. Their atmosphere was more like Olive Garden mixed with a Friday's-- we liked the nautical theme. The service was great and very friendly and helpful. We had the Tucker's "works" burger with their seasoned fries--definitely suggest that if you're looking for more of grill food. We also had the pizza florentine which was a toasted tortilla with spinach dip, cheese, jalapeño, and some tomatoes--very tasty. We had all of that and two draft beers for $20. The only negative was our fried green beans and fried pickles. I would describe them as sad. They probably would have tasted better if they were fresh or at least hot. It was a slow day it seemed and my guess is that they were made earlier that day.

My husband and I took his mother to lunch for Mother's Day. WHAT A MISTAKE! We all ordered the Bourbon steak. It tasted as if the Bourbon was just poured onto the steak. The steaks were tough and had no flavor. We couldn't cut into them. My husband and I had the garlic potatoes, they were both bland except for the cheese over them. My mother-in-law had the "loaded" baked potato. It wasn't a loaded baked potato. It was a plain baked potato with a few pieces of bacon and cheese over it. The prices in this restaurant are not worth the quality of the food. This restaurant is overrated! NEVER AGAIN!

Last Saturday we celebrated our 50 th Golden Anniversary at Tucker's with a party for 74 people. We were extremely pleased with the decor, wonderful food, bar service. The servers were very accommodating and helpful. Working with KD to arrange the party was a pleasure. She had many helpful suggestions and the room was set up so well.

This place is so overrated. I have been 3 times and the service and food were not good. I don't personally know anyone who likes it. I gave it 3 tries, but I'm done.

Iama Critic Rating - Tucker's Restaurant - 4 Stars 4620 Clemson Boulevard, Anderson, SC Overall: Tucker's strives to be upscale and it's prices reflect that effort. The appetizers are seriously priced which may hinder your joy. The entrees however are top notch and Tucker's is willing to accommodate special orders and promptly correct any shortcomings. Fried Pickles and Green Beans - 4 Stars Unusual combination and served with slivers of multi-color tortillas and a ranch sauce. I don't really like fried pickles, but that is irrelevant, because good critics ignore their own opinions and let the food rate itself. These pickles are better than most and the beans.... well nobody else actually fries green beans, but I enjoyed the combination. $6.90 - Salmon Chips - 3 Stars I love chips. I love salmon. I even love capers and almost everything about this appetizer, except the price. Can a single potato chip with a dollop of salmon on it ever be worth over $1.00 each? If you answer yes then I say ok, but then I add that the flavor of the chips is a little bland. The salmon needs some kick. I would have loved a sweet glaze or blackening on the salmon crumbles. Like the awesome blackened salmon I had on my salad. $9.50 - Blackened Salmon Salad - 5 Stars I ordered this salad "iceberg free". And for now on I will do this at every restaurant, because I am sick of tasteless iceberg lettuce! And the result was a magnificent and gloriously exotic salad filled with wonderful greens that don't sound like a hard cold chunk of glacier. The salmon on this salad was unusual in that it was not a small thick slab like I was expecting but rather a thin, large filet. Shape similarly to a sunfish. But this was no sunfish, but a magnificently flavored salmon. By the way the home-made bacon dressing is fabulous. $19.90 - King Cut Prime Rib - 4 Stars As always I compare the food I am reviewing to the food I have reviewed in the past. I have had plenty of large and awesome prime ribs in my time, so I compared Tucker's 14oz King Cut to Copper Grill's 12oz Voodoo Cut prime rib. And to my surprise Tucker's prime rib is not only bigger, it contains more meat, less fat, is prettier overall, tasted just as good, and is several dollars CHEAPER! Now granted the Voodoo came with a few shrimp and the King Cut came with asparagus (my choice), but the size and quality makes Tucker's King Cut one of Chef Iama Critic's top three prime ribs! Now back to that asparagus. I a word it was horrid! It was grilled to death! I should have had my waitress exchange it, but then that would be cheating. So if you want a five star prime rib experience, avoid the asparagus or demand perfect ones. The choice is yours.

Was there for their Sunday brunch. Arrived at about 1:15, so there was still ample remaining time for their brunch service, but the food was unremarkable, picked over, and wasn't refreshed when we were there. It may be better during the peak time, but that is hard to say.

Went there on a friday night. Only a few people there at 7:30 pm so that should have been a give away sign. Their fried beans and pickles were great. But that is where things went wrong. The creamed spinach was luke warm and not very good. I had salmon and it was way under seasoned. Salads were ok but had to mess up salad. Tuckers is hit or miss. Missed this time.

I went to Tucker's based on reviews while on a business trip. FYI, if you are going there on a Sunday for a drink, you will be disappointed. They referred several parties to the restaurant next door while I was there because, as of this review, they do not serve any alcohol on Sundays. That said, the GOOD: I started with the house salad with house dressing, which was a warm honey mustard bacon, supposedly made on site. The salad seemed fresh (mostly iceberg, egg, bacon, ham, tomatoes and I am sure some other ingredients). I actually liked the salad. It came with a warm croissant with honey butter. My main course was prime rib, accompanied by cheddar mashed potatoes. The prime rib had a good flavor and was good with au jus and horseradish. The mashed potatoes were made from real potatoes. They could have been a little warmer to actually melt the shredded cheese on top, but they were still good. The service was very good and my waiter was friendly and helpful. The BAD: The water and iced tea tasted like dirt. I wish I had something that did not include anything that mixed tap water with it. Even filtering it would not have worked. Overall experience was good. I would probably go back, but I would get a different drink for sure and would probably get a different side or try another dish.

Tucker's used to be one of my favorite Sunday brunch places when in town but the last two visits were very disappointing. It almost feels as though the kitchen staff looks at brunch as a school lunch. Everything looks and tastes the same with no variation. Sorry Tuckers, looks like we'll be heading downtown from now on!

Easter Sunday brunch. The fish was dry, the roast beef was dry, and the seating was apparently a terrible inconvenience if you are handicapped. Despite having called ahead and being assured that seating in the buffet room was not a problem, we were seated as far away from the buffet as possible, had to navigate stairs (which we specifically asked NOT to do) and the hostess was extremely rude about it. We were told that the buffet room tables were only for parties of 8-10 or more, however the party of 4 who arrived after us did get seated in the buffet room, I presume because one person was in a wheelchair. A cane is not handicapped enough, I guess...

Came for dinner with my family. Service was friendly and attentive. Everyone else got the stuffed tilapia special and I had the rainbow trout. You get two sides or a side and salad with the dinners. Salads were good sized and fresh. I had the stuff baked potato which was delicious. My rainbow trout tasted great, but did have a couple bones and a few fins on it. Management said it was hard to get all the bones out of the smaller fish. That was my only complaint, otherwise very delicious. Kind of on the expensive side, $75 for the meals and one diet coke.

Went here today for Sunday brunch with my mom. (In case you're wondering, my mom is Carolann K. who also reviewed separately, but this is a different visit than the one she reviewed.) We weren't planning on brunch, but before 2 on Sunday, that's your only option. First let me say that I am not a buffet person, and I am VERY picky about brunches. But we were there and mom was already a fan and I was having a blood sugar situation that meshed very well with the instant gratification brunch had to offer so we stayed and ordered drinks (water for me, coffee for her). Then to to brunch. Our waiter actually showed us where it was and gave us an abbreviated tour. There were some breakfast items and carving stations and sliced turkey and various fixings and salads and desserts. First the negatives: -Nothing was labeled. This made salads and desserts especially difficult to navigate. I am not a person with allergies and I'm fairly adventurous, but, still I like to know what I'm eating. -No omelet bar. BRUNCH with no omelets? Shame for the scrambled eggs over Sterno! -Some items looked a little, well, meh.. like the turkey and the gravy and the stuffing... the turkey was presliced and not at a carving station. In all fairness to these items, I did not try any of them! And the good: -Caesar salad was fantastic. -Roast beast.... yum! -What's better than crisp and flaky buttermilk biscuits? Try them with honey butter! So why four stars when, clearly, what I had just described was a three star experience at best? The service. Partly though my meal I asked my waiter if they had fresh squeezed orange juice. "No," he says, "but we can make some." "From real oranges?" Dummy that I am asks? and he offers to show them to me first... which I laugh off and say that that is completely unnecessary. A few minutes later, he comes back with another waiter holding four oranges and asking me to choose two for my juice. I laugh and choose my oranges. A few minutes after that... FRESH JUICE. The staff here is charming and funny and delightful. And the food really is pretty good. Oh, I almost forgot... try the mashed potatoes with cheese and chives right in it. P.S. Our check was under $30 for two. That's $11.90 each for brunch and two drinks. Score!

WOW, we had a wonderful Sunday Brunch! Our waiter, Gordon, was attentive but not intrusive. Fresh vegetable salads were abundant and delicious. Roast Beef cooked rare, to perfection, (well done available too). A nice variety of side dishes; sweet potatoes, creamed spinach, caramelized onion rice just to name a few. Jambalaya, Fried Chicken and German Roast Beef were some of the other main dishes. Made from scratch breads and desserts were great. A wide variety of breakfast items, an omelet bar and fresh fruit were also available. We will definitely make the trip from GA to eat here again!

Mother's Day. Anderson, SC. Every and I mean every restaurant was packed. Except this one. Couldn't figure out why this place was empty. Walk in, get seated and the nice server explains that whatever city or county this was in had some backwards, Utah-esque liquor laws that prohibit alcohol sales. The Applebees next door, the steakhouse just up the hill, yeah, they could serve it, but Tucker's was dry for the day. How were we supposed to toast Mom for being a great mother to some alchies? ;-) The service was fine, the food...ehh...menu on par with a Ruby Tuesday or Chili's..nothing to Yelp or write home about. Hated their french fries, just awful. For a restaurant with no wait on a holiday at prime time dinner hour, it was sufficient.

I wish there were a Tucker's where I live! The food was divine and the service was even better! I had the crabcake salad, and instead of the crab sitting on a bed of lettuce, it was on a bed of tortillas. The salad was off to the side of the plate. So after I was finished with the salad, I was able to snack on the chips! My family members enjoyed their food too. Also, a surprising treat was that instead of rolls before your meal (boring), they set out fried pickles and fried green beans drizzled with ranch dressing! It was so good, and such a treat from the standard basket of rolls. Lastly, I want to comment on the service!! Our waitress was absolutely outstanding! Instead of taking our order and saying "do you want everything on it?" she named every single item in the dish and asked if there was anything she named that we didn't want in the dish. How AMAZING is that? She came back at all the right times to check on us and ask for things we might need, and even in the end, she asked if we wanted refill drinks to go. She had no idea our family has had a standing disagreement about whether it's appropriate to ask for a refill to go. At Tucker's their service is so good that they as YOU if you want a refill to go! 5 stars! My only negative comment is to please get a better sign and menus. The bad neon with the "hot lunch specials" marquee underneath doesn't do you justice, neither does the oversized menu in plastic. I was expecting mediocre before walking inside, but got far from mediocre service and food.

I arrived for a light meal at 9pm on a Monday evening. The host station was unattended but after a minute the bartender greeted us pleasantly and offered a table in the dining room or bar. I opted for the bar where she efficiently took our drink orders. I ordered the crab cake salad. It consisted of a generous portion of iceberg lettuce, sliced red opinions an bacon bits accompanied by a disappointing crab cake. The crab cake was visibly scorched, composed disproportionately of seasoned breadcrumbs and undercooked and gummy. This was my first and last visit.

We went there for dinner with a group and had quick and efficient service. I am not a fan of their baked potato soup. It's light brown in color and has the consistency of having come from a blender. Other than that the food was good.

I took my wife to Sunday Brunch for Mother's Day. The staff was pleasant and very attentive. However, we should have turned and ran right after our waiter gave us the tour of the buffet room. Our first impression: chaotic serving stations, no order whatsoever. There was a long line waiting for the waffles to be made, which blocked the access to the breads and meats. That should have been a separate station or least have the breads moved so that those who didn't want waffles wouldn't have to fight through the line just to get a piece of bread or biscuit. Waiting all that time in line, we got back to our table (with cold coffee from the wait) only to find that the waffles were not very good. Actually, they sucked. Strike 1. Strike 2: Powdered eggs. Come on, are you really that cheap, or do you take people for fools that don't know the difference between real scrambled eggs and powdered eggs? That's unacceptable and shows poor taste on the owner's part. Strike 3: The rest of the food was not very good. The mac & cheese was okay, but the tilapia with micro-shrimp was sitting way too long under the Sterno. Gross. I don't even remember what else I got because I didn't eat it. The "homemade" desserts were okay looking, but I finally had it with the low-budget banana pudding. Sorry folks, but banana pudding in my book is usually cooked. Vanilla pudding with chopped up bananas (uncooked) with vanilla wafers on top is a poor excuse. Not good! Overall, this was one of the most disappointing brunches we've ever experienced. We typically steer clear of buffets, but having eaten good dinners and lunches at Tuckers we assumed the brunch would be top notch. It was not. I expect that I would have gotten a better meal eating at Ryan's Steak House. And to the owner's: we saw you there (confirmed by asking our waiter), yet you looked right through us and never smiled nor asked if everything was okay. Sure, it was very busy that day, but that should have made you even more attentive to your paying patrons. There's no excuse for mediocre food! Shame on you for that terrible meal. Will most definitely NOT be going back any time too soon.

In my quest to find good restaurants in the upstate my friend and I were trying to decide which one to try for lunch I suggested Tucker's. She was a little hesitant, but, we went in and was greated by a lovely person with a smile and a warm welcome. The servers were great and the food was wonderful. I had the grilled chicken caesar salad and was surprised to see it came with a red sauce and a slice of pineapple on it. We did not need to ask for dressing on the side ( all are made fresh on premise) that is how it was served. The food was wonderful, the service excellent even the chef came out to help and see how everyone enjoyed the food. The have an extensive wine list, a full service bar and also have a banquet room...... There is no posted dress code so I am sure you can wear either casual or get dressed up depending on you. This is a must try. I am not sure how expensive it is in the evening, but, it is well worth a try

When we visited on Mother's Day, Tucker's was serving an upscale buffet with good quality. That's what it has been on both our visits. The selection is incredible for salads, breads, veggies, main dishes, breakfast items, and desserts. And I'm probably forgetting a category. The food is seasoned and cooked very well. The waitresses, while run ragged, still manage to be attentive in bringing and refilling drinks and removing plates as you finish, and seeing that you get your check and change. All in all, you couldn't ask for more. It has something for everyone, and lots of it (and your beltline will tell you so when you waddle out to your now underpowered mode of transport). Still, it's a buffet, and loads of slobbering masses of people may not be your thing. If they still serve from a menu, I'll go back again. Otherwise, it's good for special occasions only. It's a crowd pleaser, but not a "me" pleaser.

This is one of the best five-star restaurants in Anderson...... Always very good and very classy! Excellent Salads too!!!! They have a large nice bar area also!
(5)Anna S.
First let me premise this with the fact that I used to work for this restaurant. It has been a little over a year since I left and I don't think that much has changed. I do think that this is a fine restaurant to frequent, but not anything like a real "five-star" restaurant. Good meat, good veggies, good rolls... all good but not exceptional in any way. Their is NO chef. The menu is unvarying and a bit boring, and the wine list is far from extensive (having Dom does not make the wine list extensive). The service is some of the best in Anderson! It's not expensive and would be fine for a casual date. The Sunday brunch is also boring usually the same few main dishes cycle through every other week. I may be impartial to the place but this is my honest opinion.
