I have given this place three chances. I really want to like the food. But after the meal I just ate, I give up for good. The steak tips consisted of four pieces of flavorless, foul tasting mess with a big puddle of liquid for my fingerling potatoes to absorb. Cheap , soggy zucchini for a vegetable. The fries and beer are really tasty though, so there's that at least....

Very nice place, the atmosphere is perfect, has a comfortable feel and the waiters do a good job. Food is always great and appropriately priced. Regularly sells tickets for themed banquets they hold upstairs.

Great dinner on Saturday night. They had a great stout on tap from a local brewer and the Fish & Chips were great. The server was extremely nice and the prices were very reasonable.

Woonsocket is a northern Rhode Island town with an industrial history that I have probably been to no more than five or ten times in my life, always in passing. My friends also were unfamiliar with the essence of Woonsocket, so we planned a night around dining at Ciro's, a well-known and unique tavern in Woonsocket, followed by an evening of jazz at Chan's, another Woonsocket institution. We kicked off our night nice and early, meeting at Ciro's at 6. You may notice a sort of castle-like exterior at Ciro's. Little did I know this medieval style of the building was actually foreshadowing the interior theme of the restaurant! We were seated on the first floor, which has a pretty standard tavern sort of feel. However, our friends told us to check out the second floor, which was reserved that night for a 40th birthday party. Apparently, it's the second floor that the restaurant is known for, and after our visit up there, it was clear why! The second floor was all out decorated as if it was a medieval castle, complete with armor and coats of arms! It was sort of amazing, and now I totally see why Ciro's is the place to go in Woonsocket. I would love to have a party in that room one day! Anyway, back on the first floor, which was really nice in and of itself, we got to the business of ordering dinner. By the way, if you ever go to Ciro's, read the back of the menu, which details the restaurant's history. True fact- at one time long ago, it was quite the popular brothel! The menu plain and simple, is quite awesome. The appetizer list was amazing, full of vegetarian options, and overall, the restaurant offered a Rhode Island, unique and sophisticated twist on standard pub or tavern food. As for vegetarian apps, we shared some sea-salted edamame. I loved the visible flecks of sea salt! The best app, in my opinion, was one I had never tried before in my life- fried pickles! Served with a honey mustard dipping sauce, these pickles were divine. The coating was nice and crispy, while the pickles inside were so tender. It was such a fun food to try, and those pickles alone were reason enough to return to Ciro's soon. For dinner, I started with their simple mixed greens salad with balsamic. For a "simple" salad, it was quite the beast, in a fantastic way of course. The veggies were fresh and their was a good variety of them, including mixed greens, carrots, red onions, and tomatoes. The homemade croutons on top didn't disappoint either. The salad was huge too- I had to hand over half to my husband to finish. Also, I had some of their perfect steak fries. Actually, my husband ordered a sandwich and ordered the fries on the side so I could have some. I can't confirm this, but these had homemade all over them too- the fries were thick and well seasoned. And finally, I ordered their cheese grilled pizza. I expected the pizza to be personal-sized, but I was wrong- it was definitely full-sized! I thoroughly enjoyed it- the thin crust was tasty and the cheese and sauce were too! Ciro's was a total win and Woonsocket is so lucky to have it!

The honey bbq wings be deeelish as well as the mushroom burger. Seems like lots of locals like to convene at this spot and relish the fact that they live in the Woon. I was just passing through but I'm glad I came here to get mah food on.

Ciros is awesome especially when they just opened up the back patio. They have live music now so it makes it that much better. The whole staff is awesome and very friendly as well. The food here is great.

By far the best bar in the Woony area. Food is good, atmosphere is great and staff is awesome! New outside patio is a great place to relax and have a drink.

Like this place a lot but it seems like they are never open before dinner time. Decent beer selection and really good thin crust pizza!

Woonsocket's version of Cheers where everyone knows your name. The owners of this restaurant have turned this into the go to location downtown for cocktails, appetizers, dinners, special functions and meeting up with friends. The staff is friendly, the food is great and the interior is comfortable. Stop in if you have not been there. I guarantee, you will return.

Great place for a night out. Went here one night with a group of friends and we sat outside on the patio. Great atmosphere with the lights, fire pit, and live music. Food and sangria were great, plus not that pricey. Will be returning!

Could not get a beer after standing there at bar for 15 minutes, Hey , there are other places that would like my hard earned money, Walked out, will never be back.

If it weren't for the half-priced pizzas, I would give this place no stars. My husband and I go often for the half-priced pizza between 4 and 6. He has to get a water because they charge for soda refills. One of the bartenders can't pour a beer to save her life ending up with an inch and some head with half the beer going down the drain to compensate for her incompetence. The kicker was the other night when I went with a girlfriend. We ordered the chicken tenders. I got the Thai and she got buffalo and had to ask for ranch and I got no dipping sauce. The plate came without celery or carrots. The Thai tenders were bland with no spice to them at all. Unimpressive for $8.99. The piece de resistance was watching a bartender pour 1800 tequila from a rocks glass back into the bottle because he had over-poured. Are you kidding me?!?!?!? Remind me never to get a mixed drink in this place. Overall, I am not impressed and would not go back but will appease my husband with his half-priced pizza and will stick with water.

It's a good place that is unique in it's own way. As others have stated the downstairs is kind dark and upstairs is a castle feeling. But after all the original builder of the place was making it to be like that.It almost has a feeling of the Belcourt castle hall in Newport. The food is good though and tasty for what our group had. No one complained and the choices in beer is nice also. It can get a little loud and busy there. Especially on Thur night and the weekend. It is family owned and they have many years of restaurant experience as they also own another place in the city. Overall I think it's good and worth checking it out.

As some people have stated truly, "a hidden gem". They have a great online presence cirostavern.com , and their menu convinced me this was the place for my second visit with friends. I have been here twice. Once in 2007 (and I liked it) and the second time and most recent visit December 2013 (and I loved it!) Making reservations - I called for a reservation about two weeks in advance for 16 people and was greeted in a very warm way. She was extremely nice and helpful. She asked great questions about the type of table preferred and if we wanted to have a limited menu option. A very easy and pleasant process. Judging by the outside, I wasn't sure if they could accommodate a group of 16 (no problem - with room to spare for many others!) Table Service - a polite, professional young man served our group. He was patient and able to answer/accommodate food and drink choices. It was a busy Friday night, but he moved swiftly always looking for a dirty dish to take away or a drink to refill. He was very easy going and proactive about whether we were splitting the bill (he was relieved when we told him one bill was fine :) Food - So many delicious and creative options. I am a burger hound, so I opted for the Eggs Benedict Burger (see pic I shared). It was delicious and sizable. Nice quality thick bacon which goes a LONG way with me. The Vermont cheddar they used was killer good! Hand cut fries - Amazing as delicious as they look. The burger was on a pretzel roll and it was buttery/grilled and DELICIOUS! It was cooked as requested - Medium and very juicy. Some friends had the pulled pork nachos and they were enough for two to share. A nice variety of wings. I liked the fact they were the smaller crispy version. (Note to other restaurants: When it looks like a drum stick - they are not wings!) RAVENOUS BREWING COMPANY!!! They have their Coffee Milk on Stout and it is worth the trip here, just for that very special stout. Smooth and nice tones of coffee. Top 5 of my favorite stouts - it is going to give Goose Island Bourbon County Coffee Stout a run for their money if Ravenous ever starts to mass distribute. Parking - not great especially on a rainy Friday when the Stadium has a show going on. As you face the building there is a lot to the right and there is parking behind. Chan's seems to have another revenue stream - you can park in their lot for $5. Restrooms are upstairs - two stalls in the women's room and there are two comfy chairs in the waiting area. Across the way from the restrooms upstairs is a room for Paint and Drink. I look forward to returning to this great relaxed atmosphere with great food and drink.

The bartenders are great. The beers are well selected. The food is amazing. Decor is unlike any other. The crowd is always a blast. It can get real busy on the weekend, so know your bar etiquette before you step up. Tip: 1 bathroom downstairs, 2 upstairs. Make yourself at home, enjoy the company.

The Cheers of northern RI. Excellent selection of craft beers (coffee milk stout!), inventive pub food and a beautiful building. Service is always excellent.

Ciros is a great place in the city. Great beers on tap and the food is awesome. They have 2 dollar burgers and .35 wings on Sundays. The bar tenders are very nice and quick even with a packed house. they usually have different specials every week, so you can always try something different. I have to say their wings are great. usually when i get wings a lot of places cook them to long and they re dried out and tiny. Not theirs I got their honey hot wings and they were cooked perfectly still juicy and a good size wing. their hand cut potato chip fries are absolutely amazing. plus they have the NFL Sunday ticket.. what more do you need?

We come here every Thursday for trivia. It has a cool old English pub feel to it. The food is always good and the drinks flow nicely (try the Thai calamari.) They also opened a new outdoor seating area which will be nice when things warm up again. At times it can get congested, but hey, it's a bar. They do regular seating area which is usually not as loud. My favorites are the Marsala burger, pulled pork nachos, and Thai calamari. Only reason I cant give 5 stars is the location. Woonsocket.

We stumbled upon this gem before a show at chans - service was top top notch. Salad and my chix sandwich were great. A fifth star would have been granted if the food came out a tad faster. All in all great spot

Came with my wife for belated birthday dinner. Early on Thursday night, uncrowded, staff was very friendly and spent a lot of time with us. Got to go and tour the castle like second floor. We had split the barbecue burger and an order of the Stout steak tips. Both were very good. I can see where parking might be an issue especially when we've had so much snow, but we came early enough with this wasn't a problem.

My grandparents, both over 80 years old, love living in "downtown" Woonsocket because their bank, pharmacy, and several restaurants are within walking distance. The other day Memere was telling me about the last time they walked to Ciro's. It's about a half mile walk and on the way there it started to rain. As they were leaving their waitress insisted on driving them home because it was too long of a walk in the rain. If my grandparents could Yelp (their most recent step forward into technology came when they got a cordless phone...not a cell phone, just a cordless house phone. So I don't think Yelp is coming any time soon), then they'd give this place a gushing 5 review. Memere had a huge smile on her face the entire time she talked about their meal and their waitress. My brother is a regular here and when our dad died he asked to rent out their upstairs room for a post-funeral gathering. Their function room really took me by surprise. The downstairs has a dark, tavern like feel to it, but their upstairs looks like the inside of a medieval castle. They opened the place for us hours before they actually opened, served the gathering everything from cheese and crackers to wings and pizza, and when the bill came it was about half of what we expected to pay. They serve some interesting and good beers, they have good food, and I just plain like the look of the place. But the way my family has been treated their elevates this place from a really good place for dinner and drinks to an easy 5-star tavern.

Went here for the first time last night. Great atmosphere, service & food. I had the Old Fashion burger. Cooked perfectly & great fries too. I am a burger guy and I would recommend the burger to anyone 1/2 lb. It is hard to find a great burger AND they cook it Med Rare! Lightly toasted bun. The person with me had the Te Salmon and she said it was great as well. We will be back - Josh the server was great as well.

Cool Spot too Busy This review would get another star but the our visit was when the place was packed. I guess it's good for business but not necessarily for my experience. Pros: Great Food, the wings and pizza are great Cool Old Building Parking Good Beer Selection Friendly Service Cons: Congested Woonsocket We had great apps and a massive pizza. All great and the bartender was very helpful with draft beer selection. The place has a cool medieval vibe to it. If your in the area give this place a try. Thanks

I have always been a fan of Ciro's charm. Even before the remodel and new ownership I used to visit with my great grandfather who was a good friend of the previous owner, Curly. The upper level was what my sister and I used to refer to as Beauty and the Beast's castle when we were younger, as it has an awesome medieval theme, which you really have to see to believe. Basically, the history of this place is just awesome and I'm glad to see it fully revived and thriving again. My boyfriend and I decided to stop in last Friday, as his colleague was performing in the live band that night. We arrived around 8pm and the place was packed. We would've been there a bit sooner had we not drove around a bit looking for parking. It appears the lot that used to be reserved for Ciro's before the remodel has now been bought by Chan's. I pulled into the lot and was chased down by who I'm assuming was a Chan's employee, who then told me if I wasn't parking there for Chan's I needed to pay $5 (no thank you). Once we found a FREE spot, we walked in to a super crowded dining area, it turns out a high school reunion was going on upstairs. We then found an empty table near the bar but were soon told it was reserved and we had to move (no sign on the table or anything). Within the first half hour we were pretty annoyed, but eventually snagged two seats at the bar and it was a nice time from there on. Our bartender, Nicole, was fantastic and knows how to make a good drink. We also ran into quite a few old friends during our time here which was nice as well. The food was also much better than what I was expecting and my burger was actually cooked a perfect medium rare, which doesn't happen often at restaurants these days. Upon leaving I noticed a sign inside Ciro's telling guests where they can park, which I can appreciate for next time. Ciro's certainly has potential for a perfect rating from me, but unfortunately not just yet.

Went here based on yelp reviews and they were def not wrong - this is a great place. Excellent wings and professional friendly staff. My wife had oysters that she reckoned were outstanding - the only reason I gave them 4 stars is that last time she went they ran out of oysters!!!! Their $16 bud and wings is a great deal. Go here and you will not be disappointed!

The service is pretty terrible, I sat at the bar for over 10 mins and was not asked if I wanted a menu. I had to borrow a menu from another customer at the bar. They had half price menu going on, but when I got the menu I still was not waited on. So I finished my beer and left. The owners are great, but the staff is terrible.

Ciro's is a bad section of town, but once you walk inside it's nice, the ambience is nice, very rustic taverny type of place. The food was very good, but the wait, it took a long time for the food to come, but at least when it came it was hot. The waitress was new, but she kept taking away plates and napkins too soon, the free soup was a nice touch. The peach sangria was really good, but at 8 dollars a glass, a glass filled with ice, it was overpriced. Do not get the fried twinkies for dessert, it was really kind of soggy and gross, very disappointing.

My husbands' company had their Christmas party/dinner here this year. It's right in downtown Woonsocket, across from Chans and right down the street from the Stadium Theater. There was plenty of free parking, in both small lots on either side of Cherry Street and also on the street behind Ciro's. There were about 12 of us, and it seemed like we had the whole place to ourselves, which was great since it was a Saturday night. We started with a bunch of shared appetizers, sweet potato fries, calamari and onion rings. We all shared the flat-bread pizzas in Buffalo and Barbecue chicken, and they were delicious! They also had three different kinds of sangria that night, by the glass or the pitcher. There were two waitresses that helped us, and they were both super nice and attentive, making sure our pitchers were full and we were happy. It seemed to get a lot busier once karaoke started, people were hanging out both in the bar area, and also playing pool on the other side. This is a tiny little "hole in the wall" place, but it's surprisingly fancy in a way. I will definitely go back!

When I want to drink in Woonsocket, this is my place. Maybe its because I never had crazy high expectations, but every time I visit has been good to fantastic. For a glorified bar, the menu has everything from typical pub food to lamb. I have a couple favorites, the federal hill "grilled" pizza. It says grilled, but really its greek pizza. It comes with sausage, meatball, and ricotta. The winner for me is their outstanding wings! Get the thai flavored (be open minded) ones and you won't be disappointed. I haven't tried the sliders yet, but I've that they are the best 'bang for your buck' item. The inside decor is get and they have plenty of TVs to watch the game. The beer, wine, and alcohol is typical of what you would expect. My one complant is the staff is inconsistant. One night its "hi, patron we love you guys!" but the next it could be "Its 11pm and we want to leave early! (closing at 1am) I know lets make this really uncomfortable in here to get you to leave." My favorite staff personality is when the staff is intellectually on the same level as a bunch of beavers. Either way its easy to forget how stupid or lazy the staff can be when I'm sinking my chops into some tasty wings with a cold beer.

The first thing to keep in mind about Ciro's is that it is, first and foremost, a tavern. It's dark and cozy and has all the trappings of an entirely un-sleezy neighborhood pub with a real tavern feel. It is one of my favorite places in Woonsocket to grab a drink and a bite to eat with friends. It's family friendly but the evening hours tend to bring the crowd in. $.35 wing night (Thursday) is a special treat that is only made better by the trivia game going on. I love the free soup (for flavor and price!) and have never been unsatisfied with a meal or the service there. Bottom line: This is a tavern first, a family restaurant second.

The manager contacted me, apologized profusely for our terrible experience, assured us it was a fluke and would be dealt with, and offered to show us the best of her restaurant for free if only we would come back. I truly admire the efforts of this manager - it is good business and honest kindness. So even though I will not be returning, I will bump up the stars for good management. Also my sister came here recently and said it was a really beautiful bar and she had a great time.

Tonight we returned to Ciro's for the first time since the early 70's. Back in those early days we ate a magnificent meal of chateaubriand in Curly's VIP room. What memories tonight brought back. Although we had a casual bar meal, the clam cakes were almost inedible, and the salad with my wife's salmon did not have any avocado as described in the menu, we were haunted by thoughts of days gone by. The bar person and current owner were very gracious and gave us a tour, but the food needs a lot of improvement.

This is a great place! It's been recently redone and a fun place. The steak sandwich is the BEST I've had in a long time. Definitely will go back!

By far the best bar in the Woony area. Food is good, atmosphere is great and staff is awesome! New outside patio is a great place to relax and have a drink.

Thanks

There's no other place in Woonsocket that does it like Ciros! A local gem, and a great place for a good time. Try the wings!

Great place for a night out. Went here one night with a group of friends and we sat outside on the patio. Great atmosphere with the lights, fire pit, and live music. Food and sangria were great, plus not that pricey. Will be returning!

Woonsocket.

We stumbled upon this gem before a show at chans - service was top top notch. Salad and my chix sandwich were great. A fifth star would have been granted if the food came out a tad faster. All in all great spot
