Best sushi in Westerly. Great service and consistently good food. I recommend getting the avocado salad, the haru roll, the Thai spicy roll or the spicy crab roll.

My son and I are sushi novices and had heard this was a great place to go. Service was awesome, we were seated quickly and not rushed to order. The sushi selection is huge. The waitress did a great job answering our questions . We decided to order the sushi for two. It arrived in a large wooden boat, nicely displayed, and was a great selection for us to try. It also came with miso soup and a salad. Both were okay. The sushi was fresh and delicious. We will definitely come back and try other sushi next time to broaden our taste.

The ambiance is a little bit off here as it feels like this space was converted from a neighborhood dive bar to a Japanese restaurant. Once you get past that, you will thoroughly enjoy your experience here. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Most importantly, the food is excellent. The sushi is fresh, creative, and fairly priced. The hibachi was well presented, fresh, and delicious as well. It was a little too salty for my palate, but most would chalk that up to personal preference. Having said that, I appreciate the low sodium Soy sauce available at each table, which I used for my sushi.

Coco- she's the point woman here. Super sweet and welcoming. All the food is great. I usually order the soft shell crab or the truffle white tuna to start. Specialty rolls I recommend are the mountain top roll, Thai Spicy Girl roll, or the Eel lovers roll, but really all the rolls are well made and original to this sushi spot. I have had friends that have loved the steak hibachi and others that love the chicken katsu. All in all - it's a great place to eat.

Yay! I'm a fan! Ok, only gotten TAKE OUT here so far, but I must say, all the hype is warranted. The sushi was super fresh and very comparable to my usual go-to place. I was pretty impressed with the interior, however I was in there only to cash out. Prices we're ok--slightly steep, but not by much. reason for 4 stars... -No Fortune Cookies -No lower sodium soy sauce -Lack of descriptions on a few things on the menu but it's really just the no fortune cookies...I base life decisions on that stuff..

My wife challenged me to try something different today so I chose Japanese. She has ordered from here several times in the past. I was looking for the rice noodles in broth that I see on TV. I ordered pad Thai which is fettuccine rice noodles. It was supposed to come with vegetables and I asked for shrimp to be included. We also requested a "plain" order with a side order of hibachi chicken. It wasn't what I had expected. The noodles were in a semi-sweet sauce with peanuts. There were several shrimp but no vegetables. The side order of hibachi chicken was very small from what I saw. The food was good, just not what I have been looking for. I won't hold it against the place for me not ordering the right thing. I need to do my homework and be more informed about what I want.

Tonight was our 2nd stop, of what will be many, at Koi. Our first visit was enticed by a Groupon for $60 worth of food for 4 people for $30 - fantastic deal! Tonight, however was a revisit just because we liked it so much the first time (even though we have another Groupon waiting in the wings). My boyfriend and I opted for the spicy crab, thai spicy, volcano and amazing rolls. None of them disappointed! The Amazing roll is paired with a coconut mayo sauce while the Thai Spicy roll is paired with a cilantro sauce, both of which pair perfectly with the other ingredients in the rolls. I highly recommend everything we ordered.

We've been to Koi 4 times and tried different things each time. Everything was fresh and well-prepared. We brought our son, who lives in San Francisco, a town that has lots of good Asian options, and he was very impressed.

Came here with my mom with a Groupon (and make sure you let them know that up front or you could be embarrassed at time for the check that the lunch special counts as a special and thus exempt from the offer. They were very understanding with us but you've been warned). The atmosphere is really comfortable and cozy and the service was prompt, friendly, and attentive. We started with cups of green tea and MAN the cups were HOT we needed to wait a bit to drink them. Mom said hers smelled of seaweed but they tasted like a strong green tea to me. Very good. We each got a cup of soup with our meal, miso for me. Hibachi(?) for her. Mine was pretty classic, miso soup but still one of the best I had ever had. I really enjoyed tasting my mother's too. I had never heard of that soup before but it was salty and delicious...kind of reminded me of ramen broth. My mother had a hibatchi lunch and really enjoyed it. Large size, and very tastey. Her one complaint was that certain parts of her meal (the veggies) weren't as warm as the rest. I had the sushi lunch and an extra order of Yellow fin. The sushi was awesome except for one piece of fish that was on the rubbery side but that could just be me not liking that type of fish. The yellow fin was delicious but bizarrely spicy. There was a piece of pepper on the top but even with it removed it was like the oil of the pepper was on the top of the fish and man it burnnned. I was so stumped...yellow fin wasn't supposed to be spicy. Was I misheard or something? I'm not entirely sure. That said we had a good time and enjoyed the food very much on the whole and would consider it a good value for the price. Super nice staff as well.

Went with a bunch of people for late Saturday lunch. I got the chicken teriyaki and split a scorpion bowl. The dinner was great and came with soup and salad for a reasonable price. Coco waited on us and was fantastic. Will definitely be going back!

Great food and sushi. Our table was not set all the way and we did not have appropriate silverware and I had to steal pepper from another table. Server was very nice. I just bought a Groupon and cant wait to go back.

Nice that they had soy paper to wrap my sushi instead of the nori (seaweed) which I do not care for!

As other's have pointed out, this is a location that has had multiple restaurants in the past years. They have changed the tables to booths, this is a plus in our eyes! Service was very friendly and wonderful. Sushi was excellent, one of our favorites was the Thai Spicy Roll, side dipping sauce was great! Also a nice twist was the sushi that didn't have rice but was wrapped in cucumber, very refreshing. Definitely will be going again!

This is now the third "Asian" restaurant to occupy this building consecutively, if you don't count the "Hot or Not Cafe". Which no one does. It's quainter than the other two. There seems to be more work dedicated to ambiance and professionalism. The servers are friendly, knowledgeable, and the menu is extensive and inventive. I love the warm, salty edamame, and warm saki to start. The sushi chef does a fine job, although you have to be careful. Some things ordered do not look fresh due to lack of clientele, and they are often out of items for this very reason (try getting kumamoto oysters in January.) Get the sushi, but be prepared for some missteps. My Philadelphia Roll, for example was good, but tasted too much of cream cheese and the Nori was too tough. The Truffle White Tuna was almost as good as it sounds; if it weren't drenched in the cold, watery yuzu sauce and served with whatever bland vegetables were underneath it, the sweet, oceanic flavor and meticulously constructed presentation would have been the highlight of my week. It's cozy, comfortable, and they have free WiFi. I hope that they get busier--that the Westerly crowd grows on it, that it manages to escape the hold 65 High Street's reputation has on the town. I will definitely try this place again, but I am not expecting anything.

Good food and prices. Wait staff is a little annoying. Come over too often and linger for a bit, kinda distracting. They need some nice background music. The silence takes away from the atmosphere. And they do accept Amex which is nice. The drink was skimpy on alcohol. Other than that, no complaints as far as food goes.

This location has had a high turnover rate. I've seen it be three different restaurants in the past 3 years, but koi is definitely the best one yet! My favorite is the jalapeño yellowtail appetizer. Their sushi is always fresh, and their cocktails are good. We went there for my birthday in January, and when we told them that they put my sashimi appetizer on a decorative flashing colored plate. The waitress is very friendly, and remembered our faces after being there only once. We've turned into regulars now. I love this place, if you're craving sushi in westerly this is definitely the place to go!

Excellent food and service. They now have their liquor license and have a great variety of sake. The sushi is excellent. Best I've had in this area. The menu has something for everyone, vegetarian to filet. I highly recommend this place. Plus they deliver!

Meh. It's actually pretty average if you compare it to good sushi. I gave 3 stars because I've never had a bad experience there, and the lunch specials are a good value. Last 2 times we went, there was literally no one else in the restaurant besides us. Service is usually quick and pleasant but I find the food fairly unremarkable.

I stopped in for lunch the other day and treated myself to la carte sushi. It is small inside, but they have the option of opening another room. I suspect they will as business grows, which it will. The service was very good and friendly. I struck up a good conversation with Michele (a partner). The sushi menu options was extensive. In addition there are multiple dinner options if sushi is not your thing. I tried several nigiri options. The sweet shrimp with fried head was the freshest and best I have had in some time. All the choices I tasted were "off the dock" fresh. The Sushi chef did a nice job with the presentation. Overall, this place has what it takes to succeed and is a welcome change to the other restuarant options. Also the bathrooms are ADA. As to the person who could not read the menu, maybe one should get or check your glasses.

Was there last week. Had the beef negymaki (sp?) to start, house salad, and spicy crunchy salmon roll. All amazing. Best spicy salmon roll I've had.

Fantastic food at reasonable prices. My wife and I both had the crab cream cheese crunch rolls. Very tasty! I also had a spicy crab roll which was delicious. Not many people around on this Sunday afternoon.

There's not many choices for sushi in Westerly, but this place is nice with pretty good food. It is what you expect from a typical Japanese restaurant. It's usually not crowded, so it would be a good option over waiting at one of the other local establishments.

We went to Koi tonight to celebrate a special occasion with a large group. The appetizers were amazing (edamame, steamed dumplings, seaweed salad) and came out really quickly. The sushi was absolutely fantastic!!! We loved the Amazing Roll and the Spicy Thai Roll... WOW! They were beautifully presented. The pineapple fried rice and shrimp pad thai were great as well! We found the prices to be reasonable. Coco, our waitress was wonderful, the service was very attentive. There was a nice 50% off Groupon online that we took full advantage of and we'll definitely be back! The staff is still getting things up and running so as of tonight 11/19, they were still awaiting their liquor license, but were allowing BYOB. They're working on a private party room off to the side of the restaurant which should be great for large parties or private events. We brought a cake and they did a wonderful job presenting it after our meal. Definitely go check it out!
