They have a dinner for 2 for something like 40$, and it comes with a bottle of wine. It comes with a very disappointing salad with no more than maybe five leaves of lettuce. But they give you more than enough dressing! Then on to the dinner, I got the gnocchi, again disappointing. I am not even sure the food gets made fresh there. My companion got a chicken dish and the quality of chicken skeeved me out, I was almost happy I had the gnocchi over what he had. I was pretty bummed out. But, I had an amazing dessert, a lemoncella creme brulee (which our waiter excitedly said they make there which is what lead me to question what they didn't make there) and Elizabeth gave us a free sample of her delicious home made limoncella. Elizabeth is very nice for sure. But unfortunately the food didn't make me want to come back. The ambiance in the restaurant is nice, felt sort of like being home. I liked that part.

Opening the menu reveals a message that states something to the effect of, "still a fine Italian restaurant." Interesting... I'm not in my seat 5 minutes before the restaurant is defending what I assume to be negative perceptions. Upon finishing our meal and leaving, I take issue with the statement in the menu--maybe once it was a fine Italian restaurant, but those days are long gone. Service was abysmally slow. Maybe we were hypersensitive to it because we were all starving (Portofino wasn't our first choice, and we were very hungry by the time we arrived), but 10-15 minutes before the waiter shows up isn't a good sign. After multiple requests for bread (it was stale), our hunger was somewhat satiated. We ordered a good bottle of barolo (@ $70) and the antipasto plate while we decided on our entrees. It took another 15-20 minutes for the wine and appetizer to arrive. It wasn't a busy night. The antipasto plate and wine finally arrive. The waiter pours the wine, and my wife notices her wine glass is sticky and visibly dirty. We kindly ask for a clean wine glass, and the server takes my wife's dirty glass (filled with wine). A few minutes later a clean glass is returned - empty. I'm not sure what the protocol is here, but we paid nearly $70 for that bottle of wine; do the math. I mentioned it to the waiter; we got a free dessert out of it. Moving on (everyone makes mistakes)... The antipasto plate was poor. The salami & prosciutto were barely edible. Lots of mushy, overcooked peppers & mushrooms. Salads came eventually - I think we were all about ready to pull the plug on the place at this point. The Caesar salads were small and swimming in dressing. Once the entrees finally arrived we were pretty eager to finish up and leave. We asked for the check. Instead of the check, the waiter brought over the dessert tray. I had the gnocchi - it was mushy and fairly flavorless. My wife had the lobster risotto - again, bland and unimpressive. Our guest had a chicken special. I think she was too polite to tell us she didn't like it. I asked for the check AGAIN - took another 10 minutes or so for it to finally arrive. Bottom line: service was friendly but incompetent. Food is bland and overpriced. Atmosphere (I didn't even mention the totally cheesy lounge act with the old guy on the keyboard and the drunk woman singing standards) is low rent & divy circa 1982. Sorry Portofino, we will not be back.

I heard this place was good, so I decided to come the day before Valentine's day, knowing from experience any restaurant would be extremely busy. Anyway the atmosphere here is charming and elegant. We ordered traditional Italian dinner, pasta and seafood, it was fresh and flavorful some of the best food I've had outside of federal hill. For the price there was plenty to eat. Service was good, but it did take awhile to get our dinner even on a not so busy Wednesday, so I can imagine it would be may be worse if busy. Try the sangria well worth it, and plenty of wine choices. I will definitely will be back to try some more great Italian food. I was pleasantly surprised by this place I drove by hundreds of times... and never knew something so good was so close to home.

Love love love this place!!! My youngest daughter is four months old and had already been here 6 times! On holidays it gets crazy busy so make a reservation. Food has always been excellent and we have taken six other people here besides our family of four. No one has ever complained or not enjoyed their food. Service can sometimes be a bit slow but it is worth it. Such a nice family resturant with a friendly staff. We have had steaks shrimp dishes chicken dishes and a few others. My boyfriend always waits for the specials because they are delicious. My favorites are the chicken marsala, shrimp scampi, and the stuffed shrimp.

Although my reason for going to this restaurant was that we were invited to a private party being held here, I had to yelp because we really enjoyed ourselves. This is a cute place and I would like to return to see what it would be like to actually come for dinner and pick from the menu. As it was, we got to try a few pre-selected menu items: pizza, fried calamari, gnocchi and then chicken marsala. The pizza had a tasty tomato sauce but the crust should have been crisper. The fried calamari was really very good. Hubby and other attendees raved about the chicken marsala. My gnocchi was a bit heavier than it should have been but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The staff was quiteaccomodating and good-natured even though there were many guests who were roaming and underfoot throughout this small-ish restaurant...none of the staff seemed perturbed or fazed. They did an excellent job. The bartender was great and he helped me pick a nice pinot grigio to drink, providing me with tastes of his recommendations. The parking situation is dicey...We took the last spot in the front of this place and I am not sure where else there is to go. But we had a fun time, enjoyed the restaurant and would certainly go back for a meal when in the area again. If you are planning a party and want to have it in an Italian restaurant in Warwick, Rhode Island, it would be worth checking this out.

Decent while unimaginative classic style Italian dishes. Semi-upscale decor with nice but somewhat odd wait staff and clientele.

About 10 years ago my wife and I went to Portifino and vowed never to return, which is a shame since it's close to the house. The food and service were both very disappointing. We recently received a gift certificate and decided to give it another try. It was a 180 degree different experience. We sat outside on the nice patio overlooking the lake. The service was fantastic. Our waiter, David, was exceptional - very personable. I had the veal chop and my wife had the Veal Portifino. Both were delicious and came out hot. They end the night for us with. A wafer and shots of lemon cello. We will definitely be retuning

Mozzarella rounds are a must have! They are very lightly breaded and the sauce on top was so fresh. They give you roasted garlic, olive oil, and bread. We got the veal Marsala and the chicken portofino, both were absolutely delicious! Both served with green beans and mashed potatoes. Only issue is that the service was very very slow, we sat there for a long while before the waitress came over. We had to ask for bread bc we hadn't gotten it by the time our app and drinks had come. Otherwise, the overall experience was good and had a restaurant.com gift card which makes the bill much more affordable

Gnocchi with Gorgonzola sauce? Superb! Highly recommend. Roasted garlic on table for bread is also a nice touch, as well as complimentary pizelle after dinner. Great place!

I have eaten here twice and both times was a great experience. It's a hidden gem stuck in a plaza that looks like nothing to brag about. However when you go inside your blown away by how damn cute the place Ian it's so cozy and warm and inviting. It makes it very easy to linger over a glass of wine for two hours which we did. I'm terrible with names but our waitress was great. She had a nice personality and was able to answer our questions. To start off they bring you warm bread with roasted garlic served in a heated ramekin. We each had a half salad. Mine was the standard fruit and nut salad every place does. You know the one with the cranberries and cheese and nuts. It was Fresh though and the dressing had a nice flavor to it. They have many dishes you can do a half portion of which is great so you. An eat dessert too. I had gnocchi with artichokes red pepper and chicken. It had w gorgonzola cream sauce that was perfect. The gorgonzola was not too over powering and it was the right amount of sauce. I wish I had gotten the whole one. I had chocolate lava cake with ice cream and it was Ooey gooey goodness. After dessert the waitress brought over some lemoncello and pizellas on the house which i think is a nice touch. I found the price reasonable too. Eighty dollars is not bad at all for two dinners. Salads. Desserts and a bottle of wine. It's a great place for a romantic date or to catch up with a friend.

Food is great here! It's usually a while for it to come out but I think that's part of the ambiance, just don't go when in a rush. Everything I've had has been good but I've probably had the veal saltimbocca more than anything else. The fresh heated garlic for the bread on the table is another nice touch.

Went last for my first time. We had a party of 8 the entire bar entire area was nearly empty. The owner said oh I don't think we can fit you after looking us up and down. Oh OK. Then quickly changed her mind and seated us. The food is mediocre at best. The fried mozzarella is soggy, my husband and friend ordered the $ 30 steak it was all fat! The bolognese is pink sauce with cut up steak!!! What?! Regardless of all that the one star is mostly for the owner who sits on her perch and watches you eat your dinner like a general!! So uncomfortable. It appears they only welcome regulars and local customers only. I'll stay in Cranston and enjoy GREAT Italian food ... Reality is Sgt Elizabeth General your restaurant is not on federal hill and your demeanor ruined our dinner!!

The grand opening of Indulgence was motivation enough to go back and eat at Elizabeth's Portofino. The eggplant rolltini appetizer was excellent, not to mention Elizabeth visiting our table when we were deciding our choice of wine for the evening. Her suggestion worked perfectly with both the veal portifino and my choice of Tuscano chicken. To cap off the dinner we were presented with a fabulous limoncello and waffle cake. Excellent! We decided to be super indulgent and try strawberry champagne at the newly opened Indulgence dessert bar and we were not disappointed with the bread pudding and the flavorful milk chocolate rimmed strawberry champagne drinks, which were fabulous. A wonderful night- great ambience and great service.

We went for dinner here recently on a Friday Night... largely because we could use a mobile app "Open Table" to reserve a table and because the restaurant had a good reputation. The meals were great, but beware of the Chef's Special's! The cheese stuffed ravioli plate can run you $22+ so double check those unmarked items!

This was the 3rd visit for my wife and I and it was terrific all 3 times. The last 2 times we had Kelly as our waitress. She was friendly, attentive without being overbearing. Our food was delicious. I had the Chicken Parmesan and my wife had the Ravioli Special (Cheese ravioli with pepperoni and a tomato cream sauce). We cannot wait for better weather so we can dine on the rear deck. Definitely would recommend to anyone!

It was definitely good.... nothing amazing/spectacular/over-the-top but good. Parking is rough but we managed to get a spot. They were very much aware of our reservation which I always love. We were seated promptly. Our waitress seemed nervous, and didn't really know much about specials/drinks but she was sweet and nice and made up for it. Our meals (pescatore fish-red and veal saltimboica) were good/even very good but nothing amazing. The prices seem high, especially for Warwick. I say that because we are quite used to the pricing scheme in the italian world for providence/federal hill etc and this just seemed expensive for what it was. Our app (2.5 big scallops) was $13. I really wanted a sangria but the only option was a 20 ounce for $12. If there had been a 10 ounce for $6/$7 I would have happily ordered. All in all...a good choice if you're in Warwick and looking for good italian but nothing amazing :)
I've been twice about 8 years ago and had a gift certificate to use from Restaurant.com , so I took my best friend for his birthday. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly. Can't wait to go back!

Where do I start? I ate at Portofino this evening after a long hiatus and I don't know why I stayed away so long. One plus for me is a quiet place to sit and enjoy the company I am with and Portofino filled this bill tonight. Our server Amy was a true delight from the start of the meal until we left. The Caesar salad was wonderful with nice shavings of cheese, not smothered in dressing. I am a veal lover and I was not disappointed with my dish, the veal Portofino was scrumptious. We split a Nutella mousse for a light dessert which was a perfect way to end a meal. Everything about this restaurant tonight was perfection, i highly recommend this terrific restaurant .

This was the first time I have been to this restaurant. I was very disappointed. It was very overpriced! I had baked stuffed shrimp (4) which came with saffron rice and spinach, the shrimp was okay at best, there was a tiny bit of very dry white rice with no flavor and a teaspoon of spinach. My boyfriend had veal parmesan, a huge piece BUT it was very overcooked and all breading, he cut into it and there was a very, very thin piece of veal in between all the breading, it was very dry with just a small drizzle of sauce. Would not go back again.

This is my absolute FAVORITE date night place! The food, the service, the drinks, the intimate setting, the lovely modern music, *sigh* Warwick needs more places like the Portofino. PSSST: They have awesome coupons on Restaurant.com !

Monday night party of 4. (Her bd and their anniversary ) Love the roasted garlic/olive oil/bread at the table. Ordered fried calamari special and a marguerite pizza. Good but not a fan of the marinara sauce, little sweet for my taste, but served hot. Loaded potato soup, he liked it. Chicken gnocchi was good, I had roasted cod, good size serving, with rice and arugula. The couple both had veal parm with sauce on side, good portions but both said was over cooked. Too bad. They did bring a complimentary dessert and 2 glasses of champagne and 2 Lemoncellos and pizzalles to table, to celebrate . Very nice touch. That's why it is 4 stars. Service was excellent and I appreciate the little things that a restaurant does to hold your business. I will be back because of that !! Thank you again ..

First visit. Probably would only go back if someone else I was with wanted to go. Average . Clams casino ok. I had a pasta special which was good. Hubby had veal parm . Portion size ok. Nice atmosphere, not crazy about tables so close together . Just know you cannot use restaurant.com certificate and gift on the same visit . Nice touch is the complimentary limoncello and pizzelles

Do not be fooled by the outside because inside holds a gem. The foodie extremely good and prepared to perfection. The service is more than you expect and the knowledge of the staff is nothing short of excellence. The four of us all got something different and we were so delighted with our choices. One person in our party is extremely picky and is always the last to finish but not this evening. Before everyone was even halfway through their meals he was finished. The limoncello was an excellent finish. We will be retuning to experience this location again and soon!

Stopped in on a Saturday night with a restaurant.com coupon! And to be honest by the end of dinner I was feeling pretty tipsy so dinner kept getting better and better :)! We started off with the clams they were good and I loved dipping the bread into the goodness. I think the broth could have used a little more acidity and make a zip. But hey they were garlicky and good nonetheless! For my main I got the scallops and they were great! I think they could have been a little more seared on the outside but they were still tasty and I ate every morsel! Overall it was a very nice memorable evening and I would not hesitate to go back!

Outstanding!! From our server to the complimentary Limón cello and pizzelles Portofino's is wonderful. We started with the Italian Nachos- tortilla chips, mozzarella and ricotta cheeses, diced tomatoes and a side of Bolognese sauce was excellent! Our server Cassie was very helpful when it came to my indecisiveness of dinner choice. She easily talked me into the Haddock topped with roasted red tomatoes and artichoke hearts, my wife had the Lasagna. The portion size was perfect and did not leave anything on our plates and left us comfortably full. Our check was presented with complimentary homemade Limón cello and pizzelles. We had a fantastic dining experience thanks to Cassie and the wonderful chef's!!

The shrimp scampi was made with onions in It ?? It left a terrible aftertaste in your mouth. My roasted cod was nothing more than a bland piece of fish thrown on a plate with a tiny scoop of white rice and no flavor. Our waiter was a joke who was more concerned about another waitress than our horrible meal. The drinks were pricy and weak, oh well live and learn we will never be back

My family stopped in Warwick for the night on our way to Cape Cod. We decided to head here for dinner since it was very close to our hotel and it had pretty good reviews. I'm so glad we did! The food was excellent and the service was great. Our server Brandon was very attentive. A bonus was that we had our two kids, seven and two years old, with us and KIDS EAT FREE! Their portions were huge and even came with ice cream for dessert. I had the lobster ravioli which was amazing. The hubby had gnocchi with vodka sauce which was also great. The desserts we had, chocolate lava cake and Nutella chocolate mousse ( I know right!!!) were so yummy. They didn't seem to mind our noisy kids even though it is a really nice place with a great atmosphere. If I lived here I could definitely see this being one of my go-to places!

Had Valentines Day dinner with my wife here last night. The food was fantastic but the service and management was a mixed bag. First off, there is no parking to speak of. Thankfully they had a complimentary Valet parking- not sure if this is an everyday thing or just for weekends or Valentines, but it came in very handy. We arrived at 6:50 for a 7:00 reservation. The managers or host and hostess, not sure who was what, didn't even acknowledge us for several minutes, and even greeted the couple behind us without noticing us. I finally got their attention and checked in. They told us it would be a few minutes, but then took the couple behind us and sat them, and their reservation was for 7:15. The staff at the front seemed very disorganized. I realize it was Valentines but they were not that busy. At 7:05 they asked me again what our name was and then realized that our reservation was for 7:00, not 7:15 as they thought. They then sat us immediately with apologies. They started us off with a roasted bulb of garlic, delicious crusty bread and olive oil. I had a Sam Adams which was very reasonably priced at $4.00, and my wife had an enormous glass of red sangria for $12. The carpaccio ($12) was tasty, thinly sliced with shaved Parmesan, salty capers, arugula, lemon, and red onion. The onions were a little large and stronger than I liked and the dish would have been fine without them. I ordered the Lobster Risotto (a Friday special) and my wife got the Chicken and Gnocchi. The Gnocchi was served with tomato, spinach, and Gorgonzola. Unfortunately when my entree arrived it was the wrong one, the server mistakenly brought me Lobster Ravioli with Scallops instead. I didn't say anything because it looked and smelled amazing and I didn't want my wife to eat alone. This was a happy mistake on the servers part because i doubt the risotto would have been as tasty as the ravioli. The scallops were seared perfectly, large and seasoned well. And the ravioli were absolutely enormous and filled with huge pieces of claw meat. The only thing missing was another price of bread to soak up the creamy tomato sauce. For dessert we had the chocolate lava cake which was warm and gooey. This was supplemented by some pizzelles and a very juicy chocolate covered strawberry. The night was finished with two complimentary shots of limoncello and a rose for my wife. We will be back, mainly because we were not allowed to use our Restaurant.com gift certificate on Valentines. I was not surprised about this policy but I wish it had been stated on the certificate or website and not just on a chalk board at the front door. I saw several other couples trying to use them as well and being declined. Overall we had a good meal but the management seems like they could be a little more organized and courteous. I teach hospitality management and culinary arts in a high school and my students would never let guests sit at the host stand for that long without being acknowledged. However, the great food outweighed the disorganized staff.

Incredible atmosphere, friendly service, top notch food and great pours from the bar. In the colder months, live music in the cafe side. You have the choice to be laid back on the cafe side, or spruce it up a bit on the other side. They take restaurant.com gift certificates and in month of June, let you use it 2x. I have had most items on the menu and highly recommend the lobster mac&cheese, pizza, and the stuffed meatball from their appetizer menu. On the dinner menu, chicken marsala, sole picatta, and their chicken parm are our favorites. All incredibly priced. Try Amy's frozen mudslide as she makes a great drink. Get their early (4-6:30) and try half priced apps at the bar.

Went there on a wed. night because it was close to home. Was hoping to find that diamond in the rough. Mind you I cook for a living and my boyfriend is a professional carpenter. Entering the door my boyfriend looks around and say wow cheaply done. We decide to sit in the dinning room by the window. I started to wonder when about the place when we noticed the fake flower at the center of the table that looks like it died. The same guy that seated us then showed up to be our waiter and got our drinks. immediately a young girl came over with some stale and burnt tasting bread with roasted garlic that was dry and bland, olive oil with fresh pepper and fresh grated cheese. Nervously we ordered the lobster ragoons. My boyfriend liked them but I was unimpressed, tasted like lobster but barley a meat in it and kinda hallow. The sauce that it came with it over powered the lobster with wilted greens. Ordered a garden salad, it comes. OH GIVE ME A BREAK !!!! Now we have to pay for OLD GREENS, maybe a half cup full, 1 grape tomato, two big slices of red onion, and one slice of cucumber. I sent it back and tried my best to be polite to say no i don't want another one. He order the chicken marsala when it came there was maybe a half cup of cold mash potatoes, fresh greens beans that the old ends didn't get cut off and two thinly fresh frozen gummy chicken slices the bottom one looked like legs. WHY you ask BECAUSE THE COOK IN THE KITCHEN CUT THE THIN BREAST IN HALF TO MAKE SURE IT"S COOKED. I ordered the gnocchi . BLAAAAAA the gnocchi was suppose to come with a gorgonzola cream artichoke, roasted red, spinach, and tomato. the pasta was gummy and bland, cream sauce wait were's the flavor?????? Canned roasted red peppers and artichokes, fresh spinach though! tomatoes were red things. topped with a lovely basil top. wanting to run out we waited to get our check. Got lemon limoncello shots and two boxed italian waffle cookies. Not worth the $45.00 Service was slow and by the way went to the bathroom there and the toilet needed cleaning. All set with this place.

Great meal. Started out with the bread, olive oil and warm garlic bulb. The Caprese Salad was delicious. The veal saltombuca was tender and melt in your mouth. Finished with complimentary pizellas and lemonchello. Took home some Bailey's cheesecake to try later.

Before my recent visit, the last time I had been to Portofino's was back in the late 90's for a large dinner party with an ex-boyfriend's family. Reminiscing about that ex isn't entirely fond, but the memories of that meal were vaguely pleasant. I can't tell you what I ate over ten years ago, but I remember the feel of the restaurant was intimate, classy and overwhelming warm. I was happy to see a restaurant*dot*com gift certificate for Portofino and figured it was time to give it a whirl with the "new" boyfriend -my husband of nearly a decade (=. The restaurant was still in the spirit of the holidays with plentiful greenery and twinkling soft lighting. The tasteful decor with tables simply dressed with linen tablecloths and napkins set the tone for a night of fine dining. I have to say that the interior is a sharp contrast to the restaurant's strip mall location on a somewhat gritty stretch of Post Road. The menu has a varied selection of Italian items that will appeal to the basic pasta lover and the diner looking for a little bit more. I knew that I HAD to try the carpaccio (thinly slice raw beef atop greens). My husband played it safe with Chicken Parm and I ordered a half order of Pescatore (seafood in a white wine sauce). We also split a caesar salad and a bowl of loaded baked potato soup (I know -not Italian, but who doesn't love baked potato?) Dessert was a Bailey's creme brulee. Here's the run-down: Carpaccio - Divine! Tender raw beef slice paper thin and tossed with crisp green arugala, capers and parmesan slivers and olive oil. Freshly ground pepper sent it over the top. Soup - Cozy, creamy baked potato lovin' with chunks of tater, bacon and cheddar cheese. A detour off the fine-dining path, but still tasty. Caesar - Overdressed romaine with a few too many wilted leaves. Lacked crispness and the dressing overwhelmed all the greens. Chicken Parm - Huz was actually served VEAL parm, but couldn't get the waiter's attention so settled in with the alternate. Large portion of cheese laden breaded veal with appropriate ratio of crisp edges to sauce. But not what he ordered. Pescatore - Loved the option of getting a half order. It was still generous with two little necks, sea scallops and shrimp with some scattered calamari rings. I thought the broth could have had more depth than the buttery clam juice that pooled beneath the pasta. Creme brulee - Wow. Smooth custard with a gentle Bailey's flavor with a scorched sugar top. So, so good. For me it's about the details. Unfortunately, many of the details with our experience were off this night. We had two utensils, one plate and a glass of water replaced because there were food particles remaining from the dishwasher. The meal mix up and the lagging service didn't help much either. If I ordered just the carpaccio and the creme brulee it would have been maybe a three star night. Alas - that didn't happen and I can't say I will find my way back here any time soon with so many spots a short drive away on Federal Hill.

Terrible food. I got the chicken masala, it was slimy and mushrooms were from a can. they were whole and rubbery. I complained and asked for pasta and sauce instead. 20 minutes later my girlfriend was done eating and still no pasta. I told them I wanted to cancel the food and go home. they insisted it would be right out. when the pasta finally came out. It was literally about a cup of pasta and a table spoon of sauce. terrible!!! I am a foodie and I love going out to eat, this place this a never again.

We were a party of 5 entering the restaurant about 8:30pm on a Friday night. The restaurant does not look like much from the outside -- located in a strip mall near the airport in Warwick. But inside, the bar is nice and there's a cozy Italian-style vibe. There were only about 5 tables of people. The cocktails were well made, according to my friends -- I am more of a wine girl. We each were treated to individualized olive oil plates with freshly grated cheese and crakced pepper -- they were made to our own tasting. A whole head of garlic, with a tea light to keep it warm was also placed on the table for us to share with warm bread. (It was obviously not homemade bread.) For apps, we had the RI calamari, beef carpacio and mozzarella rounds. The mozzerella rounds were very lightly breaded -- which I really liked. The calamari also had a light coating and was fried to a prefect crisp and served with banana peppers. The carpaccio....eh. Not much flavor. Dinner for me was 1/2 order of caprese salad and 1/2 order of lobster ravioli. The caprese was good with a nice touch of balsamic. The lobster ravioli was perfectly cooked and served with a large scallop. This was a rich meal that I would not normally order. I was happy. It was not the best that I have ever had...but a solid meal. The men in our party had veal chops, which offer a choice of sauces and an option to add a surf 'n turf. One added scallops and one shrimp. Plates were clean. The other ladies had sole and salmon. Both seemed to be cooked well. Overall, it was a solid meal. The largest plus was the ability to order dishes by half orders. For the richer dishes, that is a HUGE bonus for me. I won't overeat. I would go back. Note: parking is TIGHT.

I have dined her a few times and the food was always excellent. They have a nice selection of Italian dishes. Pasta, Fish, Chicken , Veal. Sunday evenings they have specials that include a bottle of wine. During nice weather you can dine outside in the back. The menu has lighter choices as well which is something that is not always avaiable in other Italian restaurants i've been to. The service is exellent and the staff is very nice.

I've overheard good things about this restaurant for years and I've always wanted to try it. Since we had a gift certificate, we went on a Friday night at 6pm with 2 small kids. We ordered Spinach and artichoke appetizer - it was fine. The kids enjoyed munching on the chips and bread while we waited for our meals. The kids got pizza and chicken tenders; both were very good. One great thing about this restaurant is that the children's meals are free and the portions are large and come with a drink and 'scoop of ice cream' (it's actually a large ice cream sundae with chocolate sauce and whipped cream). I don't know if this is standard for nicer restaurants since we don't usually go with children but I thought it was really nice. My husband got the scallops and they were very good. I ordered the Penne Alforno. When it came out it was very bland and I knew it wasn't right. The server realized the error and corrected it but I didn't get my meal until the rest of the table had finished eating. I did notice that the service at times seemed really rushed, almost overwhelmed. The dining room was busy but not full and it didn't seem like they were understaffed so I'm not sure what the issue was. When the food finally came out it was delicious so I didn't really mind the wait . I really liked that they have a half and full option for the pasta items - the half portion was perfect with the salad and appetizer. The food was great and the staff was friendly and I really enjoyed the experience with 2 small children - we will definitely go back.

Had a second trip here recently, and I have to say it's really worth it to go. If you are in the mood for upscale Italian with some homegrown RI flavor, then you'll really enjoy this spot. Don't be put off by the front of the restaurant (it's in a building with multiple businesses), and the parking is a pain..Once you go in though, it's all good. Very nice interior, and both times we went the owner Elizabeth greeted us a the podium. Pretty deck out back with a view of the pond. The food is outstanding. Your first unofficial course will be a fresh bread basket, plate of E.V. olive oil, and a fresh roasted garlic bulb. This time I had lobster ravioli, which comes with 2 giant sea scallops. My man had veal saltimbocca, cooked perfectly. Portions sizes were perfect, as was presentation. Along with your check you get a shot of house made Limoncello, and a fresh pizelle.

Portofino was decent. I liked the atmosphere it was sort of quiet and dim lit which is nice. The food was average, kind of what I expected from what the outside looked like. Overall not bad.

Excellent restaurant. I live across the street and have lived here for 4 years. I wish I went to this restaurant sooner because I would be a regular by now, but now from this point forward I will be a regular. My wife got the chicken parmesan, she figured she would be traditional, and it was exceptionally good. I got the chicken saltimbocca and it was awesome. I also loved the atmosphere. I will absolutely be back.

Simply Awesome! Great Menu well executed by the chef and staff. We ordered beef carpacio, Lasagna Soup, and Arancani (fried rice balls) for apps...dinner Veal salsibuca, rosemary skewered scallops, my daughter had a chicken dish cant remember what one. Oh and the Citrus riostto was to die for! All perfectly cooked and seasoned and perfect portion sizes. We will be back!

Place is charming. Our server, Dorrae, was very professional and a joy to deal with. . But I found the food sub par and bland. Veal marsala was poorly executed...little or not marsala in the gloppy saucew. Veal was tough. The Veal Saltimbocca ws also tough tasted like it was made with dried sage instead of fresh...covered with a leathery blanket of cheese and drowned in a Gloppy sauce that tasted mostly of bullion cube-esque beef, (To their credit Our server offered to replace the veal dishes with something else, but I didn't think that would be fair to the restaurant ) The RI calamari was good. The creme chocolate raspberry creme brulee was delicious. The complimentary glasses of limoncello added a gracious touch..... Maybe we caught them on an off night , or maybe we just ordered the wrong dishes...the other patrons seemed to be enjoying their meals well enough. I remember the food here being much better , of course that was 20 something years ago..... left rather unimpressed and disapointed, wishing we had gone somewhere else.

I love this place. So many restaurants could take a few cues from this place, and learn how NOT to suck. I think I'll just list all the things that are great about it, and then, to be fair, I'll list off the few draw-backs. Okay, here we go: It's clean and comfortable and you don't have to deal with "Down City" crowds or traffic. The staff are all genuinely nice people. The owner is on hand -as far as I can tell, ALL the time, and she goes out of her way to make sure your experience is all it should be. The food is very decent, and consistent. No unpleasant surprises. Nothing on the menu is over $30. (in this economy, I really like that) The Italian cuisine is neither the current wave of "authentic regional Italia" that can isolate some diners, nor is it that watered down "Americana" sort of crap you get at Uncle Tony's or Olive Garden -no, its REAL old school "traditional" Rhode Island type Italian, the likes of which remind you of your grandmother's house or the family dinner table growing up [ only probably better]. You know, the kind of food you just can't find anywhere else from NYC to California. Look, I look forward to traveling to Italy some day and eating every delicious thing they throw at me - but its certainly not going to be like "going home"....Elizabeth's kinda is. They have great (although non Italian) deserts. Did I mention they're great? Every meals ends with complementary glasses of house-made Lemoncello and Pizzelles! You can choose to sit either in the dining room, at the bar, or even out back on a tiny deck that {sort of} overlooks a nice pond. Now here's why I couldn't give this place 5 stars: It is located in a strip plaza on Post Road in Warwick across the street from a walmart, so it's never going to be a "destination" type place, or overly romantic. It's more of a neighborhood hidden jewel. The food is great, like I said. But its not super-perfect, innovative, or mind blowingly fantastic. (Honestly, when was the last time you eat something that was?) - -That's it, that's all the negative things I can think of. Do yourself a favor and just try it. And when you do, order the Eggplant Rollatini and get their Molten Chocolate Cake for desert. You will not be disappointed.

If you like Italian food and happen to be in the area, you may want to give this place a try. I thought the food was great. There were 4 of us and we walked away very satisfied. They are a little slow. Since they kept the drinks, bread and appetizers coming, it doesn't feel as bad. Personally, I thought they were still a little slow. That would not stop me from revisiting this place again if I happen to be in the area. Depending on what you order, it can be some what pricey. There are reasonably priced entrees on their menu though. Service was very attentive, courteous and professional.

Nice, relaxed, atmosphere, attractive interior, decent food, service friendly but could be a little more attentive (a bit understaffed it seemed). Would return.

Visted on Saturday, 2/1/14. Sat at the bar where appetizers are half-price between 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM. Beware, half-price does not include the Seared Scallops, Shrimp Cocktail, and Lobster Ravioli. Also, you cannot use Restaurant.com gift certificates for half-price appetizers. We decided to use our gift certificate and ordered the Seared Scallops (3 sea scallops), Shrimp Cocktail (4 jumbo size shrimp), Calamari (small portion, and the Portofinos Pizza. All were very tasteful. Atmosphere is nice, acoustics are good too. If you want to eat in the bar area, I suggest seating at the high top tables. From past experience, they're more comfortable because you don't have to bend over as much to eat your meal. Bread, olive oil and warm garlic bulb is a nice touch, as are the complimentary limoncello and pizzelles. Amy, behind the bar, is very personable, attentive, and busy - mixes all restaurant drinks, serves the bar as well as the bar tables. On this visit I will give a three star rating, only because of the appetizer and gift certificate exclusions.

went here because it's nearby and we had a restaurant.com certificate. when we entered, there was no one seating people (probably because there weren't any people there...) and we weren't sure what to do. took several minutes, including us walking into the dining room and back for the person behind the bar to come out and seat us. I tried the italian nachos...odd. some of the chips appeared to have been left too long in the fryer and were un-edible. I was also bummed that they came out with scallions all over them, as this was not listed on the menu. (I really, really hate onions....). We were given bread and some olive oil to dip...some of the bread appeared stale. a few other patrons came in while we were there, but it was pretty slow. I think they microwave the bread to make it warm before they bring it to the table--there's a microwave right in the back of the dining room, outside the kitchen door, and we heard the beeping go off several times while we were there. look, I get that kitchens/restaurants use microwaves...but having it IN the dining room, disrupting diners? not very cool. My gnocchi was pretty bland. bummer. the lemonchello was a nice touch. service was sloooooooooow. given how not packed the restaurant was, it's sad that we were there so long. even with a coupon, doubtful that i would be back.

The food was very good. I ordered the Linguine Pescatore and it came with 2 huge scallops, 3 large shrimp, and a lot of calamari. A bit pricey at 23.99 but it was worth it. My wife ordered the Chicken Marsala and it was also very nice and tender. We do not go out for fine dining very much (since my wife is a cheapskate) , but being our birthdays and we had a gift certificate, it was well worth it!

food tasted amazing...great decor..I got the veal portifino which was $22 and it was 4 golf ball sized veal rollups....my family got the chicken Parm which was huge...I felt jipped..also saw the $25 steak...it's very small also and it's not fillet.

Loved it! I would go back every time I'm in town. The food is not disappointing and the wait staff is very friendly which seems to be a difficult thing to find out here.

Attended a private party here with 30 people and ordered from a pre-determined menu. Veal parm was very good. The breading could have been a little lighter but portions were huge, and yet not heavy. Hubby had sausage penne with grilled red peppers and onion, which was delicious though the pasta wasn't homemade. Other people who had the lemon caper sole and and chicken marsala said they were delicious. They offer both hearty Italian as well as lighter items. Calamari and very lightly fried parmigiana cheese appetizers and dessert were also excellent. Best thing though was the fantastic service. We had one waiter with 2 runners and a busser for *30* people and couldn't have been better. Fast, friendly, efficient, social and didn't miss a step....for *30* people. Water glasses, drinks and wine were never empty. Orders were never missed. And they even re-corked a full bottle of Chianti for us and let us take it home. How good is that?

The food itself was decent, the service was friendly, but they were understaffed and painfully slow. The desserts were clearly made elsewhere and tasted like it.

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Good food, very good service, nice decor, and close to my home.

(5)Kendra N.
(4)Rebecca B.
Gnocchi with Gorgonzola sauce? Superb! Highly recommend. Roasted garlic on table for bread is also a nice touch, as well as complimentary pizelle after dinner. Great place!
(5)Liz M.
(5)John L.
Food is great here! It's usually a while for it to come out but I think that's part of the ambiance, just don't go when in a rush. Everything I've had has been good but I've probably had the veal saltimbocca more than anything else. The fresh heated garlic for the bread on the table is another nice touch.
(5)Mary P.
Awesome food and service! The shrimp scampi was hands down the best I have ever had. Great wine selection and service. This place is a gem!
(5)Melissa R.
(1)Rebecca M.
(5)Paul J.
(4)Roy L.
(5)Amelia S.
(3)Jess M.
Thanks to restaurant.com we discovered this gem only a few miles from home! The owner Elizabeth seated us and welcomed us after we told her it was our first visit... She asked which section we would prefer... They have a fancier dining room or another room adjacent to the bar. We chose the dining room for our first visit. Our server was Dore and she was awesome! Very attentive and pleasant with a sense of humor!!!! We ordered the chopped salad to start, it was accompanied by roasted garlic and nice Italian bread. I ordered the chicken Marsala served with red skin mashed potatoes and green beans. My fiancé got the shrimp scampi with orzo and spinach. Both dishes were great! Our meal was concluded with homemade limoncello and pizelles.... All in all a great experience and a fun date night! Excited to find such a nice restaurant so close to home!

I've been twice about 8 years ago and had a gift certificate to use from Restaurant.com , so I took my best friend for his birthday. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly. Can't wait to go back!

Server was interesting..nice ambiance..great roasted garlic..shrimp scampi was excellent...tiramisu was also very good..definitely a return visit next time I'm RI!!

(5)Cin B.
(1)Macy T.

(4)Janice C.
(3)Amanda B.
Good food, relaxed atmosphere, loved the bread and garlic!! Prices were moderate. I'd return :)
(4)John M.
(5)Cristin S.
(4)Michael C.
Really good food and excellent service. We had the eggplant rollatini app which was delicious. Pescatore Red was fresh and a good portion. Chicken Parm and shrimp Orzo also very good.
(5)Bill P.
(5)Kevin K.
The drinks were pricy and weak, oh well live and learn we will never be back
(1)Jennie S.

Great service and great food along with good prices. I use to go there in the early 70'S on date night and I took my son there for his Birthday and it was great.

We had a great meal in a lovely setting with a great waitress, Tammy. We live in Massachusetts, but we will be back. Thanks for a lovely, much needed evening

went here because it's nearby and we had a restaurant.com certificate. when we entered, there was no one seating people (probably because there weren't any people there...) and we weren't sure what to do. took several minutes, including us walking into the dining room and back for the person behind the bar to come out and seat us.
(2)Ron A.
(5)Bryan T.
food tasted amazing...great decor..I got the veal portifino which was $22 and it was 4 golf ball sized veal rollups....my family got the chicken Parm which was huge...I felt jipped..also saw the $25 steak...it's very small also and it's not fillet.
(2)Nicole E.
Loved it! I would go back every time I'm in town. The food is not disappointing and the wait staff is very friendly which seems to be a difficult thing to find out here.
(5)K M.
(4)Kim S.
The food itself was decent, the service was friendly, but they were understaffed and painfully slow. The desserts were clearly made elsewhere and tasted like it.
