Go here now. Good, nay, great food. Traditional Mexican street food. 100% affordable. Better than Poco Loco (sorry guys). Best taquitos I've ever had. Tacos; hard or soft...yum. Those folks who gave this place only one or two stars, perhaps the don't understand what Real Mexican food should be? I'd recommend they check out a place called "Taco Bell", there's one in nearly every town. As for Papi's- i can't wait to go back and have a few beers with my taquitos...

First time visitor today. We loved it. The food was very good and was very fresh tasting. Big Papi burrito was great. We left with take out menus and look forward to next time.

We visited Papi's Tacos because we were hungry and tired, so our moods were warped to begin with. We started the trip by visiting Rocky Point, but discovered we needed to eat before we did the park, so we took the short trip to here. Wow. I was raised in Texas, so I am a critic of Tex Mex food, but his place took that snobby attitude, my crankiness, and turned it into one of the best Tex Mex experiences I have ever had. Go there. We reviewed this location for our travel blog, #ThisIsNewEngland at thisisnewengland.com/201…

I have been driving by for quite some time now, I am very glad we decided to check Papi's out. The decor is quaint, the service is very good, and the taco's are super yummy. Love the hot sauce & fresh guacamole too! My daughter decided that this is the #1 taco place around!

I have been going to Papi's Tacos a while now since it is in my neighborhood. It is my go to when i need an affordable and healthy meal. They use fresh ingredients and the service is friendly. They have homemade salsas and hot sauces that are really delicious. My favorites are the beef tacos and bean quisadillas. A must try is the flan dessert for $1.50!!!

Great tacos and burritos. Great portions for great prices. The owner is very friendly. The restaurant it's clean. I love eating here and I never leave hungry.

I loved it here! Went for the first time a few weeks ago and ordered a beef burrito with no beans (only cuz I really don't like beans) and I must say it was one of the best burritos I have had in a very long time. It didn't make me so full that I felt sick but it sure did fill me right up. So many different things you can get and I wanna try it all :) can't wait to go back.

A small hole in the wall in Warwick, this place serves up some of the best Mexican food I've had. There's nothing about it, just fresh ingredients and done right. The burritos are $5 a few bucks more to make it "gigante" and are overstuffed with ingredients. Tacos, tostadas and nachos accompany a wine, beer and margarita selection and can be enjoyed in the colorful, spacious dining area. They are happy to make vegan options available by axing the cheese and sour cream on request and they use corn oil vegans are safe. Ozzie is a friendly and funny guy and the prices can't be beat. It's a definite safe bet in the area for great Mexican.

This place is a gem in the rough. My husband n I ate there yesterday. I had a fajita burrito with shrimp and their HOMEMADE hot sauce. Yup homemade, so hot it brings tears to your eyes. Delish! Homemade taco shells, fresh ingredients! So reasonable. You must try it! This place is no Taco Bell folks, it a real Mexican restaurant and a decor to back it up. Oh and the flan is to die for. Soooo good!!!

  • Andrea R.

First of all.. I'm not understanding all the 4 and 5 star reviews. Did I go on the wrong day?? I really wanted to love this place! It's a good location, the decor is cool, and the guy working was super friendly. Sorry to say Papi, but I will not be back anytime soon. I ordered two tacos... the presentation was great, but that's all folks. The taco shells tasted like the kind you buy in the taco kits at the grocery store and there was something weird about the sour cream... was it sour cream? who knows? But these are not the questions I want to be asking myself while I'm eating!

  • Jeff S.

I'll preface this by saying the place was clean, and service was good. The food however, was nothing short of disappointing. This was about a step up from old el paso taco-kit-in-a-box. Salsa and guacamole were without a doubt pre-packaged foods that were not made on site. My quesadilla was okay, but nothing I couldn't have made better at home (and with fresher ingredients.) Included bagged shredded lettuce, tomato and sour cream. We also ordered chicken fajitas. It included some black beans from a can, some Mexican seasoned instant rice from a box, shredded lettuce from a bag, some diced tomatoes, likely also from a can. The chicken was cooked fine and seasoned with salt and pepper, and cooked with onion and pepper. Nothing to write home about. Two tortillas were included with it, which was enough for about half of the chicken and toppings. Chips were tortillas cut and fried on site, but unseasoned, and had been sitting for a while as a couple were stale. Salsa from a jar on the side. All in all, this is your typical American family's taco night, just served in a restaurant. Nothing fresh or authentic about it. Even the burrito chains around here have better, fresher ingredients. I'd go elsewhere.

  • Amanda M.

This place is amazing. My friends and I came here for lunch today and it did not disappoint. The man at the counter not only took our order but made it as well. The food was delicious and hot. As we were finishing our food the server brought us a piece of flan on the house! The only thing better than the food was the service. Must try!

  • Edward M.

Came to this place randomly. Have never had better Mexican food anywhere in RI. If you have the chance to swing by do yourself a favor and do it.

  • Jared E.

Think Taco Bell, but bigger portions and Mexican reality tv. Family of four for under $20 is great, but we won't be back.

  • Steve F.

Are you kidding? The food is simply reheated Sysco stuff. It's really obvious, unless you have never experienced anything other than industrial food (which, given the location of this place, is a strong possibility). Chips and salsa w/ guacamole was not good. Chips cold, greasy and unseasoned. Guac and salsa premade crap. The guac had the telltale green glow that indicates powerful preservatives and and a food scientist somewhere tinkering with shelf-stable ingredients. The salsa was bland ketchupy crap, just jar stuff from the chips aisle at the supermarket. Carnitas quesadillas were definitely a disappointment. Very bland. Very light on cheese. Served with three 1/4 inch shreds of lettuce, a few tiny cubes of diced tomato, and small preportioned containers of sour cream and "hot sauce." Some of these reviews indicate this place is making it's own hot sauce - if so, they should just knock that off. It's not right. Two stars because the place is clean and the service is friendly. T&A on Univision blasting in the dining room may enhance or degrade your dining experience depending on your stage in life.

Hubby & I went today for 1st time for lunch. What a nice surprise. Cozy restaurant with great food. We ordered hard shell beef tacos, beef tostadas and Jamaican pie. Best we have ever had. Food was cooked to order and served hot. Bonus they serve liquor. Can't wait to go back. Papi's Tacos is a definite home run!!!!!

Great food, Fajita burrito was the best I've had since Colorado. Our order was accurate and served with a smile. Papi's is now on Warwick Neck Garage's lunch rotation for sure!

Excellent Mexican. Family owned, can tell they genuinely care about the quality of food being served. It's not a fancy place and it's not trying to be one. If you are looking for delicious Mexican then this is it.

Food came out saugy and was mediocre. I got a beef taco and a chicken quesadilla and couldn't tell the difference between the meats.

mediocre food and worst service ever. try the taquitos if you're going though. waitress told us to sit wherever then literally forgot about us. we had to go to the counter to remind her. also forgot they served margaritas and fish tacos on Friday which aren't on the menu. we ordered a round of ice water to go with our beers and sodas and papi came out to apologize and ask if we wanted some chips and dip. we didn't know we'd be charged for the stale chips with canned salsa and the bottles of water that we didn't ask for. food took forever and came out cold. hot sauce was ok but not really a great flavor...just hot mostly. I had the fajitas which were some of the worst I've ever had. they were pretty bland and came out cold in a plastic basket instead of sizzling hot on a cast iron skillet like every other place in the world serves fajitas. my friends ordered the fajita burrito, taqiitos, and soft tacos. the tacos were ok and my friend refused to eat half his burrito because it sucked. only thing on the table that got a thumbs up were the taquitos. when we asked the waitress for separate checks she looked like she might have an aneurysm. she managed to get it almost right except the chips and salsa that she decided to just stick on the person with the lowest bill. papi came out again to apologize for everything at the end of our meal. super nice guy and gave us a piece of tres leches which was actually free and delicious. I'm thinking this place would be alot better if papi had some good help working for him.

Great neighborhood Mexican restaurant. The food is flavorful and fresh. The salsa is good as well. I always ask for the hot. The only problem is they are a bit stingy with the salsa.

In the line from Major League, "Just a bit outside." They are close to being really good. It is in all of the details though. So the things the hit, they knock it out of the park. For the things they miss, they miss big time. For starters, there were three groups in the place, including my party. They managed to mess up the orders for two of the parties, including mine. Second, we ordered their Tiquetos because they looked fantastic, burnt to a crisp on the inside. I ordered three tacos, two soft and one crispy. The crispy came in a store bought Shell that was old and stale. Here is a hint for the owners, you can dip it in the grease and get it back to crispy. Also, their guacamole was store bought. That is almost a sin as far as I am concerned. Now that the bad is over. The soft tacos were really good as was the beef burrito (which was supposed to be a bean and cheese). The wife has a chicken quesadilla that was fantastic. They also make their own salsa. The hot salsa, superb. Finally, a place that has a salsa with some kick. So moral of the story, stick with soft tacos, enjoy the salsa.

Tacos burritos and Quezadillas This part of Rhode Island is inundated with pizza joints, ice cream shops, donuts places and some great seafood. Not much of anything else however. About the only thing remotely Spanish or Mexican is Taco Bell and I'm not sure exactly what that is. So when I noticed that a taco place opened in Conimicut Village my interest was piqued. I believe this small store use to be a coffee shop that suddenly disappeared like so many other businesses are wont to do. Different stores and restaurants seem to blow in and out with the wind off the bay lately. Since I know virtually nothing about Mexican food I took some time perusing the menu. That didn't take very long since they only offer six different items. Burritos, tacos, taquitos, nachos, quezadillas and tostadas. They do offer a choice of chicken, beef, veggie, or chorico on most and there are a few other variables but it certainly didn't take long to figured things out. On Fridays only they offer fresh fish tacos. I never had one of those but I have heard they are quite popular in other parts of the country. The service was very pleasant with the guy behind the counter asking me exactly how I wanted each item I ordered and whenever I asked a question he patiently answered it. Since I didn't call ahead it took a few minutes to get my order so I had a chance to check the place out. Just a few tables and chairs and some decorations that reflect it's former coffee house origins. They even have one small table and a couple of chairs outside. Nice to be able to eat outside in the cool weather and watch the world go by. The food itself was surprisingly good. I have no idea if this was "authentic" but it sure was a lot different than Taco Bell. Everything was very fresh tasting and smelled great. One nice touch is that they put the "special" hot sauce in a separate container. A good idea because to my delicate and unsophisticated palette this stuff tastes like a cross between napalm and lighter fluid. Since I've been here several times I've pretty much covered the entire menu but this is the type of stuff that would be hard to get sick of and I still have to try one of those fish tacos. I hope this place stays around, it's a nice change from pizza and ice cream.

This is an amazing local small business. I made this yelp account mostly to help this business get some reviews and maybe some popularity. My children and I Love Papi's Tacos especially their nachos we generally get a thing of nachos every Friday after school (as long as my children have earned it through good behavior lol). I just can't say enough good things about Papi's Tacos the owner is an amazing guy friendly and just awesome the food is delirious and fairly priced. I highly recommend the nachos and flan. Not to mention they recently started serving "adult" beverages including Margaritas and various beers, lol a must try for any local in Warwick. 5 stars for quality, environment (very clean ans cozy), and pricing. My only complaint and it is NOT even with Papi's Taco, is that parking in Conimicut Village is horrendous lol

This hole in-the-wall Mexican restaurant has delicious food with a lot of options. They have burritos, enchiladas, tostadas, nachos, etc, including vegetarian and fish options, and alcoholic drinks are available. The portions are big and have the perfect amount of spiciness. With only one person working there, waiting an extra few minutes was so worth it. The refried beans and the hot sauce were amazing.

  • Camille M.

Food is really good and very fresh. The service is excellent and and prices are really low, especially considering the portions! The guacamole is delicious, and the salsa is good. A few times recently, the tacos have been greasy, which is rare. I saw that another reviewer said the same thing...it has been when a woman was working that the tacos were greasy.

Hole in the wall place...I expected a lot better for the amount of 4 star reviews listed here. I asked for cheese enchiladas, he put beans in them?? And they were bland. I am from California and used to amazing Mexican food everywhere so take my review with a grain of salt, but everything was very bland, not a lot of flavor. The rice reminded me of Spanish Rice a Roni. I wouldn't go back.

  • Rachel N.

Friendly but very inexperienced service. I asked for a glass of water and was told they only sell it by the bottle. (I had also ordered a soda...) The waitress must have seen the look of shock on my face and asked the owner if she could get me a glass.... Weird. The food was just ok. Everything had a strange flavor that tasted vaguely like fabuloso cleaner. (I think it was the hot sauce.) We wont be going back. Next time we want tacos we'll head to Providence.

Why doesn't every place serve fresh chips? guac was (storebought) gross. Everything else was fresh.

Can't go wrong here. Everything is amazing. The portions are big. Everything is fresh and delicious. The nacho chips are even home made. I love the verde hot sauce. Just got their liqueur license so that's a huge plus. They have a small selection of alcohol not really a mixed drink place yet.

Very friendly owner, good food and hot sauce, cute place, very clean. It was open when we wanted some Mexican food and were in the area, they take credit cards, and it definitely did the trick.

Finally! Good Mexican food in Warwick! I am so thrilled I stumbled upon this little gem in Conimicut village. A classic-style Mexican taco shop. The food is inexpensive and delicious. The homemade salsas were fantastic. I had the veggie tacos, which, while not traditional, were delicious. They were made with a roasted veggie hummus. Is there really such a thing as a "traditional" vegetarian taco anyway? No, not really. The only thing this place is really missing is ice-cold beer to complement their delicious tacos. Maybe a BYOB license in the near future??? Must go!

If your looking for a alternative to pizza and Chinese, and your in the Connimicut area, you should give this place a try. It's a nice alternative to Taco Bell or On the Border. The food was delicious and plentiful. The prices are very good and everything was fresh. You can dine in or take out. I highly recommend.

This place is a refreshing alternative to bar food and pizza joints - pretty much all you can find in this area of Warwick. This cute little restaurant is in the heart of Conimicut in Warwick, right on the main street. The restaurant is tiny, but quaint and clean. I had the vegetarian burrito, extra spicy, and made it clear I wanted to feel the burn. The friendly staff gave me that 'knowing' look and made sure I got what I ordered :). Absolutely delicious and the ingredients are as fresh as they come. Try the guacamole if you get the chance : not sure where he gets his avocados from, but they're the best in town!

Great food, cute as a quesadilla, and affordable. This little treasure seems alive and well I hope it's always there!! YUM! Burrito with rice was amazing. FOLLOW UP: Last time this place was good but GREASY! I dont want the bottom of my crunchy taco falling off because of grease, if the guy is there the food is good for some reason ive gone 2 times when the lady is working and she must not strain the beef? gross.

Oh my, this seriosuly was the best burrito I've ever ate. I was traveling and wanted to try all the best food of Warwick. I'm from southern Texas, so I know good Mexican food. The coronarita was delicious. The food was made fresh. I got the big papi grilled chicken and steak burrito and it was only 6.50$ and that was with Guac and sour creme. The hot sauce is truly hot but it's so yummy. So glad I stopped in here. The staff was exceptional and friendly.

  • Mary D.

I gave Papi's another shot. I got the soft tacos with beef. They were pretty bland but the hot sauce was good and helped boost the flavor. Also got the taquitos. They were like little rolls of heaven! Delicious. I will be back for more taquitos and soon!!!

About Papa Murphy

Papa Murphy is one of the top pizza chains in the United States. Papa Murphy was formed after the merger of two popular local pizzerias namely Papa Aldo's and Murphy's respectively. The trend of "take and bake" pizzerias gained popularity in the United States during the early 90s. The growing popularity these two take and bake pizzerias located in Hillsboro, Oregon and Petaluma, California respectively gave the idea of a possible merger to Terry Collins.

In 1995, Terry Collins consolidated the merger and founded Papa Murphy and expanded the pizza chain across 1300 outlets in the United States and Canada. Customers can relish Papa Murphy pizzas by simply walking into the nearby Papa Murphy outlet or simply order online or call-in to pick up the order later. Some Papa Murphy outlets also feature a drive-thru window where you can pick up your call-in order. Today, Papa Murphy is owned by MTY Food Group. Papa Murphy is the 5th largest Pizza Chain in the United States.
