Stopped in here after finding the nearby IHOP with a long wait. What a good move! We got seated immediately (on a weekend morning) and got quick service. Good coffee. Good service. The waitress recommended the crepes to my wife - and they were outstanding. I had a veggie omelet, which wasn't much to look at at first, but was really very very good. Also notable - nice clean place. Very clean bathrooms. We were delighted and we'll be back!

I went here recently to meet some friends for breakfast. They're original Rhode Islanders and made me go and frankly, I'd never even thought of the place. Nevertheless, here's my humble experience: it's in a strip type mall and you'd almost miss it. When you walk in, you're suprised it's like a little diner, breakfast place. The waitresses are on the dime, fast and good, the food is good not creative, somethings greasy, real cheap, even great if you like a guick, no bull***t experience, prompt service, and honestly, I don't drink coffee, but I did that day and it was really good! I had a great time and I really like this little place. It's not fancy but they can make a good egg, a damned good omelatte (sp?), the bacon was perfect and I can't complain. I'd say if you know a "joint" this is a joint! And if you know that much lango, it's definitely worth it. I don't know about my friends but I was hung over and they did me just fine. But I'd go back just anyway. It's clean, it's simple, it's quick and the staff is on their game: go here. I applaud it for your basic diner breakfast; reminds me of downtown Manhattan before rush hour in the morning but less packed. You won't be dissapointed just don't expect anything more than the basics and real good, ample coffee.

I went to the Norwood Grille with my dad and wife for their Fish and Chips special. The special is $8.95 for chowder or salad, fish, fries,3 clamcakes and a dessert. It was about 3/4ths fill on a Saturday night. I ordered the white chowder and it was pretty good. The portion size for the fish was good also, it wasnt all batter like a lot of places. The clamcakes, however, were almost all batter. The fries were good. I ordered the custard pudding for dessert and it was gross. I'd get the jello next time instead. It was a good value for the money and tasted good (except for dessert). The waitress was friendly although they have a habit of leaving and not coming back for a while. I wished they'd spell check the menus to make them look more professional. But all in all, they a re good value for the money, a wide selection of menu items, and pretty good seafood. I just saw an ad that they have hot weiners now. I'll have to try them out next. Give them a shot, you wont blown away but you also wont be dissapointed.

Great food, super friendly staff. The Norwood Grill even gets it right on their takeout orders! They don't have a liquor license, however, you can bring in your own...nice touch!

Pretty quiet morning there at 730 as they just opened at 6am, about 4 people where inside eating in the old country style feeling. Every booth, counter stool even the small juke boxes all around screamed 80's with that dark brown and mustard yellow color. May need a little update. Everything was relatively clean, I ordered at counter right away from a very sweet older waitress and waited maybe 10min for food to come. I ordered takeout to eat at work. Everything was pkged right no escape food from containers in car. Got to work which was 4 blocks away and food was still piping hot. Now the food... Strawberry pancakes where sadly tasteless, thin not fluffy and super greasy. Not what I was excepting. Eggs flat dull. I'm a lover of all things potatoes so my judging is one the high side. They are those little bliss potatoes yum but full of grease and barely any real flavor. They have a few overly cooked ones which I like a little crunch but not at all satisfying. The other ones where mushy full of onions. If it was a late night then this would be the place to eat but not during the day when I can see and taste all. $23.00 in all kinda a bummer as I drive past this place like 4 times a day. I wanted to love it but in the end couldn't get behind it :(

Can I start with O-M-G? Finally drove in to this place after almost 2 years of passing by and wanting to try. I went in at 8PM after a workout and really famished. Did not even have to buy a deal to go! Well, on hindsight, I should've have waited for a deal so I did not have to pay full price. But, I am getting ahead of myself. I ordered one of the "specials" to go. "Specials" mean they come with a soup/salad and slice of bread. Since I was very hungry, I asked to eat the soup and bread while waiting for my order. Well, I waited for sure. I had to try two different orders as I was kept in the dark as to what was available on the menu beforehand. Just kept waiting for a few minutes until the server would come out of the kitchen to say they do not have the item and to try something else. Ahem. Two different items. That's twice. Didn't look like the server had any clue as well. Finally, I asked the server to just ask the cook what they can prepare so we don't have to play food tag. Place was dead. There was another table of grumpy men who looked like they are regulars, trying to chat up the lone server. In all, just 3 customers, including myself. While waiting for my order, server hangs out and chats me up. She confesses that the place has been around a while but she's only been there 2 weeks. Also, that the reason most of my orders are unavailable is because the cook/owner has turned off the grill before I came in and didn't bother to replenish ingredients because it was slow earlier and they were planning to call it a night. She said that is not "typical". Hmm. There's hope, I think to myself. The food should be able to redeem. Sadly. That's a big NO. So underwhelming. Now I know, I was not missing anything at all by not dropping in all this time.

Updated review.... Unfortunately I've been continually disappointed as of late. I'm the kind of guy who has his favorites at places - and when I make the decision to go - I have my mind set. After months without the delicious French Dip on the menu, I changed gears and fell in love with their cavatelli & pink vodka sauce. Once the french dip was brought back - it was inferior to the old style, so I stuck with the pasta. On my last visit - I sat down to order - early afternoon - and was ready. "cavatelli and pink vodka sauce, add some grilled chicken, italian dressing for the salad, and a fountain coke please." a few minutes later I was informed that there was no cavatelli in house. So, penne would have to do. another minute later, I was informed that the fountain machine wasn't working - so I made do with a bottle. Just before the salad came out - 'there is no Italian dressing - will oil and vinegar be ok?' and then halfway though my salad - 'sorry we have no chicken' so there I sat with a salad I didnt order, a drink I didnt order, waiting for food I didn't order. They overfilled and under-sauced the plate and when I asked for crushed red pepper - they were out of that too. It's amazing that a place that I would go to sometimes 2x a week has completely turned me off. I also overheard another couple order a tuna sandwich - which they had no tuna for. Sorry Norwood - but It's time I take a break and look elsewhere.

I think it's always best to start with the positive: There was no wait. Now on for the actual review. Presentation/Cleanliness: The first hint that we should have left was the dirty brown water in the vase sitting on the window sill. Or maybe it was the tacky, once white, vinyl table cloth that still had food crumbs on it. The final straw as the hair my wife found in her food. Service: The service was simply terrible. There were no pleasantries - good morning, hello, welcome, etc.. The waitress was condescending and treated us like children. It's unprofessional to use "baby talk" to two adults, sans children. It took us about 10 minutes or so to actually place our order and another 20 - 25 minutes to actually receive our food. Mind you, this is breakfast, not a cooked to order dinner. It should not take long at all. When our food finally came out the waitress dropped the slop on our table and took off, didn't have a chance to ask for ketchup or hot sauce to add flavor to concoctions which now rested before us, nor have an opportunity to ask for jam to add to the butter soaked white toast (was supposed to be wheat). Food: Like the service, the food was downright awful. I ordered a hash and cheddar omelet with toast and home fries and my wife ordered the greek omelet sans olives. A note to the service her, when my wife asked for no olives the waitress took offense and made it known. After the 20 - 25 minute wait we were expecting something exceptional to be placed before us, yet were surprised to find a pile of flavorless, butter soaked eggs, bread, and potatoes. My hash and cheddar omelet lacked said hash and looked more like a poor attempt at making a scramble, as it did not resemble an omelet at all. Similarly, my wife's greek omelet arrived with what appeared to be American cheese, not the prescribed feta. We took a few bites and threw in the towel, it was awful. At that point I was consumed with anger and simply asked for the check so we could leave. I did not have self-control to speak with the waitress without losing my cool, so we paid the $20.95 and I graciously left her a $.05 tip. The only reason we went here is because the line at our favorite breakfast place in town (Athens on Kilvert St.) had a long line and we were hungry. Needless to say, we were still hungry when we left Norwood Grill and down $21. The next stop from Yelp will likely be a call to the Department of Health. If the water in the vases is brown and the tables are dirty, imagine what the kitchen resembles. This place is an absolute failure and I would recommend that you steer clear of this place.

4 of us went for dinner with a restaurant.com gift certificate. Was pleasantly surprised with how good the food was. Baked schrod, baked stuffed schrod, steak, veal cutlet all were very good. And we all left with doggie bags. They bake their own bread. Service is a bit slow but friendly. Prices were very affordable and it is a BYOB! We will be going back again.

I visited this restaurant on Friday, 1/2/15 to place a "to go" order. I ordered a steak dinner and an italian grinder with no hot peppers. The waitress asked me if I wanted onions and mushrooms on my steak, I replied "sure". I got home and looked at the receipt, I was charged $2.99 for the mushrooms and $1.99 for the onions over and above the price of the steak dinner. Had I known there was an additional charge, I would not have gotten these additional items that were offered to me. The mushrooms were raw, I actually thought they were snails from a snail salad due to the texture. The bigger issue was the italian grinder. This grinder for $6.99 literally had one piece of bologna, one piece of "other" bologna and some shredded lettuce and shredded "pizza" cheese on it....period. No dressing (oil/vinegar), no onion, no tomato, NOTHING but bologna and lettuce. This, is not an italian grinder, it is a bologna sandwich. Although the steak was delish, I would NEVER recommend this eatery.

Ok. I went 3 times. They got 3 chances, 3 strikes and let me tell you..they struck out. The first time: wasnt to bad, (i mean i went back two more times). Service was ok food was ok. The second time: the food was ok survice was just plain terrible. The third time: i figure hey we got bad service, it was probably just the waitress. Wrong. Different waitress even worse service. It took a good 40 minutes to gety omelet and my gfs Belgium waffle. When they came out it was cold. Literally. Not even warm but cold. I got an omelet that wasnt even what i ordered. I felt like i was given someone elses leftover scraps. Couldnt even get a refill on my juice. So dissapointed. Will never be back.

So so breakfast. Pancakes were very good, but eggs not-so-much :( Atmosphere and staff we're nice enough.

When we walked in, we immediately noticed the improvement from the previous owners. The decor was mismatched but diner-style acceptable. Cleanliness was average, not outstanding. Dinner was not memorable. There weren't many vegetarian choices, which is something I accept in life. My Greek salad had one fruit fly on the lettuce, and two more swarming it (to be fair, 'tis the season), and the dressing was not, in fact Greek dressing. It was creamy something or other. The onion rings were fresh-made, not frozen, but they were clearly made with the same batter used for clam cakes, and the seafood taste of same fryer syndrome was prevalent throughout everything fried, which was unfortunate. My husband's burger was not cooked to temperature, and a bit dry. The server was very pleasant, but after she took our order, she did not return, despite the fact that there was only one other table in the house. She also did not ask about the mostly-full plates. The bill came to $25 and change for a burger with fries, a Greek salad, onion rings, and two soft drinks. The menu looked interesting, and if they attend to those quality issues, they could be a good alternative for Gregg's, which is right next door.
