Bright and sunny, went for breakfast. Breakfast menu was a good size. Average!

Excellent service and food. Friendly servers, with good suggestions for what to order. We are from out of state and their fish and chips and onion rings are the best we've had. Loved the crisp batter. Thank you!

Wicked good food, kind of like a Newport Creamery. Cheap and you get a lot of food. The fries are really good, the burgers are great. Obviously not a five star restaurant or anything but it's never failed and has ice cream and beer. I love it, it's also in walking distance from my house.

Great breakfast. Fresh ingredients, fast, friendly service and a good price. Tons of fresh strawberries on their waffles. Can't be beat.

Nice place inside. Staff was friendly. Prices reasonable. Potatoes need to be cooked longer for home fries.

food exemplary. waiter rude. gets set off easily by complaints. needs counseling. ruined it for us.

A great place that I just recently tried. I always drive by but never gave it a chance because the curb appeal is not catchy and can be easily missed. The breakfast was delicious. I had the traditional eggs benedict. It gets really busy during breakfast but I'll come back.

We went here for the first time on 4th of July. Cant rave about this place enough. Ed is an excellent server and we noticed how friendly he was with other guests that we could tell were regulars! Food was just as good as the service! We will be back for sure!!

Great deck and walkup window (for summer takeout). The place holds 49 people. The two people waiting on tables Sunday were extremely friendly and always cleaning or filling something. Noone had to ask for more coffee b/c they were always watching out and talking with the customers. Some were obviously regulars the way the waitstaff interacted with them....very caring and accommodating. The food on people's plates looked outstanding as was our breakfasts. We can't wait to eat there again!

Diner food in an unexpected place - right up the hill from the beautiful people and their fancy yachts. It's decent greasy spoon chow but there's nothing amazing going on here. No one really says hello or welcome or anything like that. Tough to make eye contact with anyone here - if you need a fork, or whatever else didn't show up with the meal. I usually get an omelette and bottomless coffee and it's never disappointed, and my dad loves their 3" thick pancakes. So here it is. Reasonably priced breakfast near the marinas, just keep the hi-how-are-ya's to yourself if you want to look like you've been here before.

Great little place. The food was perfect. Our server was very nice, and the prices were reasonable.

Great breakfast place. Have not had any lunch...yet. highly recommend. The place gets passed over because it doesn't look like a restaurant from the front, but inside is very nice. Food comes out fast, attentive and friendly staff, hidden hem.

Serving dinners now over the weekend. Great choices for 2 for $25, includes wine/beer, great selection of entries and sides, along with huge desserts. Terrific value. Huge regular menu with good RI seafood. We are so lucky to be near the sea.

Really enjoyed our first breakfast at Masthead Grill. The place is very clean and updated yet maintains a nice diner feel. Our booth even had views of the bay! The server was friendly and attentive, our coffee mugs ever never empty. Service was fast and prices were reasonable.

Super friendly and helpful staff but I have had a better breakfast at Denny's . The eggs taste like they are the liquid carton eggs and the prices where on the high side , 12 bucks for an omelet . Way to many breakfast places to have overpriced bad quality food .

Friendly service and GREAT food. Clam chowder and lobster roll were fantastic. Nice, clean little place in a scenic area, close to the coast. They even offer malt vinegar with the fries! Rhode Island has been batting 1000 when it comes to dining!

While we had an okay time at Masthead Grill, it just didn't compare to other RI breakfast places that we've been to in the past. We arrived and were immediately greeted by a very nice and friendly male server, who ended up being the highlight of our visit. Although we were given some dirty places that needed to be replaced, and a glass of our water was knocked onto the floor by a waiter. For our breakfast, we ordered the Pumpkin Bread French Toast, which I thought was dry (although tasty), but which my boyfriend loved. We also both got the Eggs Benedict plate, which comes with home fries on the side. The home fries were...disgusting. Somehow they were overcooked and undercooked at the same time, way too salty, and tasted like they'd been sitting out on the counter for days. While I loved the Eggs Benedict itself, my boyfriend found the english muffin tough and burnt and didn't like the ham. We also were required to purchase real maple syrup for $2 after we were originally given the Log Cabin replacement. I understand that maple syrup is expensive, but that just seems like overkill to me. We also were shocked to find out that the pumpkin bread french toast (which was listed on the specials board, not the menu) was a whopping $13 dollars for only 3 pieces. Ultimately, we ended up spending $30 for something that was just not really that good. To clear up the seemingly on-going debate...they do take credit cards, but there is a $10 minimum.

This place was fantastic! The food is delicious, the service was great, very cozy place. Shout out to Karen-our waitress, and the young lady that looks like Kristen Johnston. I highly recommend this place, just get there early, it gets packed quick.

I had passed this place often and never realized it. it is a good breakfast spot. menu has variety, food is quality and it is such an unknown little spot you can show up here on a sat or a sunday at 10am and get a table without a wait.shhhhhhhh.

I go here for breakfast at least once a week. It's a very friendly atmosphere. Waitstaff are very efficient and accommodating. The coffee is good quality and great. The food is fine. Like any restaurant, some days it's superb and other days it might be average, but always okay.
