This was a hard one to rate. The entrees and the service were really, really good, but everything else was sub standard. I gave it a 2 because I've certainly had much better. Very American Chinese which can be great, but Han's doesn't bring it to that level. The very eager-to-please waitress brought me a really bad Cosmopolitan in the tiniest martini glass I've ever personally experienced. There was a side car (an extra glass with the rest of the pour in it), but I mean this glass was SMALL. Who wants to continually pour your drink from glass to glass to experience it? I sent it back to be reworked and it was. I didn't order another! We started with boneless ribs and house special chicken wings. Aside from the sauce on the wings, the appetizers were really bad. The boneless ribs were the oddest pink color, sliced in pieces a bit too large and very dry. The chicken had that gamey taste chicken gets when it's not quality. My husband selected Tung Ting Shrimp. Excellent. Great flavor and bountiful shrimp. One of his other standards that he uses to judge a new restaurant is Shrimp Fried Rice. This restaurant offered Lobster Fried Rice and he decided to switch off just to give it a try. He was very disappointed. There was not much lobster like there might have been if it was shrimp and what lobster there was was very dry and overcooked. I chose Shrimp Mi Fun, a rice noodle and vegetable concoction that was really great. Wonderful balance of flavors with lots of shrimp. However, to say they were not gluten free savvy is an understatement. The waitress was kind enough to guide me to a rice noodle dish, but it was prepared with soy sauce - the American type which is primarily wheat. We will not return.

Consistent, solid American-style Chinese cuisine. I've been eating here for over 20 years and little, if anything has changed. I can honestly say that I've never had a bad meal here. The dining room is nothing special. Clean, but boring. Don't expect much in the way of ambiance. The bar is small. Only a handful of seats and a few booths. The service is fine, sometimes even great. Still, I usually get take-out. The meals are good but I think the best dishes are the appetizers. Chicken Teriyaki, crab rangoon, beef teriyaki and chicken fingers are all excellent choices. I usually select one or two appetizers to go with a combination plate or a meal. The egg roll and pork fried rice that comes with most combination plates are pretty good. My favorite meal is the Ho Yu Gai Po...weird name, awesome dish.

I just have to quickly talk about the steamed wontons- my husband ordered them and was severely disappointed. they were mostly wonton-very little pork inside- and they were soaking in two sauces. Brace yourself because this is where it gets weird! The sauces were described as a a peanut sauce and an oyster sesame sauce. The reality was, they had taken a few teaspoons of skippy peanut butter and melted them and in addition to that added some soy sauce and sprinkled some sesame seeds all over the top....ugh! It was flavorless with the exception of the skippy. I stand by my positive review of this place but the disclaimer includes this is a standard chinese restaurant. DO not stray too far from the standard dishes- sweet and sour, general chix (all white meat but get it extra spicy or else it lacks flavor, moo goo gai pan, vegetable-chix -shrimp fried rice, spare ribs, egg rolls, terriyaki etc. Keep it simple and you will be happy. My husband also asked me to note the green mood lighting. It hurt his eyes. It is dim but it really had an effect on him.

Han's Palace is one of my Favorite Resturants. The Food is Great The Service is Great The Drinks are Great You always get your food quickly and the price is pretty cheap compared to most Chinese resturants. AND they run a lunch special till 3.

I just got take out here. General's Chicken combination plate and boneless spare ribs. They really weren't good. The services was great. Food, not so much. The General's was more like a sweet n sour. The rice was dry too. Egg roll was so so.

Just moved to Warwick, and was looking for a good Chinese food location. We ordered a variety of items, to get a taste of what was available. Steamed dumplings - ok, nothing exceptional Egg Rolls - highly food colored and overly sweetened - not a recommend Sesame Cold Noodle - ok, here was the main issue - I specifically asked about ingredients prior to ordering any item. The gal there asked "you know there is peanut butter in these , and I responded that yes, this was normal. What was not expected was - a pile of cold noodles, with a huge GLOB of peanut butter on top with sesame seeds sprinkledover the top. I have NEVER had cold noodle where the sesame sauce was not tossed with the noodles, as the whole point of cold noodles is that the sauce would not be able to be incorporated unless it had been done ahead of time! These were completely INEDIBLE!! The shrimp fried rice I had ordered was bland, and nothing special. Overall, from the reviews that were previously posted, this was not the experience I expected. Very disappointing, would not recommend.

I'll start by saying that the bad reviews are from people who don't seem to be able to write a proper review. One bad experience is no reason to hate it. Saying the food was good but the something else was a bit off is also no reason to hate it. I've lived in Warwick over 20 years and have been coming here all along. It is one of a handful of Chinese restaurants I will go to in Warwick. I've never done dine in but friends have with no issues. The take out is always fresh, delicious, abundant and well priced. A long history says something is being done right. One of my favorites!

Let me start by saying I have never had a bad experience at hans. The food always come out fast and hot, and the scorpion bowls are tasty and strong. Today the boyfriend and I got a pu pu for two (seemed like a pupu for 10, ended up taking half of it home.) it was good and came with all my favorite Chinese, with the exception of fried rice which we ordered also. It was very good. The crab ragoons there honestly my fave. With the popular Islander right down the street I still pick Hans any day.

Always fast and friendly service. Ton of food for a low price and very good.usually we get take out and no matter what we order they say okay ten minutes. By the time we get there it's done and wicked hot. Never had a bad experience here and the owner is extremely friendly.

$10 volcano bowls can't beat it. The decor sucks just like all Chinese places but the food is delicious especially the house wings and crab ragoons

This review is just for their scorpion bowl. I go here from time to time with my friends. Personally I am not a fan of Chinese food but they always enjoy what they get. But you can't go wrong with a scorpion bowl for like $12. Share it with a friend, or keep it all your yourself!

Pretty good it's your typical Chinese everything is hot and cooked to order with heaping portions. Staff is always very friendly. Atmosphere is a little strange as there are not any windows. We prefer takeout from here.

Headed over here with a couple of my besties from the 'burbs on a Sunday night. After a crazy, hectic weekend, we needed some girl time with a long drink and Han's served it up right. Han's is a Chinese-American restaurant on the endless stretch of West Shore Road located between Apponaug and Oakland Beach in Warwick. It just celebrated its big number anniversary (20 or 30?) and I doubt that much has changed about this place since it opened back in the day. Decor is family restaurant-esque with many vinyl booths lining the walls of the restaurant. We bellied up to one of the booths in the bar area to order take-out and order a beverage while we waited. Long story short - two of the three of us shared one Volcano (aka Scorpion Bowl) and almost made it through a second. I admit it! I threw in the towel and switched to water. (My friend continued and even took one last draw out of the long hot pink straw as we walked away from the table at the end of the night - clearly I'm the cheaper date). The drinks are tasty but high-test. Not that it's a bad thing. The take-out never made it home since the bevvies gave us the immediate eating urge. We changed our order to a "for-here". We shared an order of Shrimp with Lobster Sauce with a side of chicken fried rice right at the table. Han's Shrimp with Lobster Sauce (as with other Chinese - American joints) has no lobster but actually is pork sauteed in a rich brown sauce with huge, crunchy jumbo shrimp. There are different versions of this dish - it's sometimes made with a white egg strand sauce with veggies. I like both versions, but Han Palace did an excellent job with the former version. Chicken fried rice was a nice balance of white chicken, sprouts and peas. Not too salty and just the right amount of moisture. Plenty of food to share one entree between three hungry gals. I'm taking off a star because - well - I really think that they could do a little more with the decor. Just freshen it up a bit. I love the local flavor at the bar and the people were all super friendly. It clearly is a crowd of regulars and floaters doing their take-outs. Walked out paying less than 40 bucks for the two volcanoes and the shared meal. If you're not looking for super fancy and you can bring someone along to be your designated driver, I think this West Bay spot is a winner.

Best place to get liquored up on a snowy night (chill out people, I walk home from this place). Owner and waitstaff are super nice people and the food is decent, but it's the mai-tai's and zombies with poopoo platter type apps that make me feel like I've stepped into a time machine back to the swinging 70's. Hang out by the bar and be an open-minded anthropologist... this place cracks me up.

Good food with Klingon lighting The first thing you notice when you walk into Han Palace is the strange glow. The eerie luminescence that I imagine you would see in an amusement park's haunted house or perhaps on a Klingon battle cruiser. Very dark with a green tint. I enjoyed it but my friend thought it was creepy. Adding to the rather bizarre ambiance are a bunch of those huge electric pictures that grace the walls. Definitely not the usually decor of a Chinese restaurant. The food at Han Palace is pretty typical of an Americanize Chinese place, with lots of the standard things that you would expect. There are only so many ways you can make chicken and broccoli or veggie fried rice but at least all the veggies were crisp and not cooked into oblivion or smothered in goopy sauces. They have a nice lunch special that offers pretty large portions at a surprisingly low price. I didn't see anything really unusual or exceptional on it but the food is good, filling and cheap and the service was friendly, polite and quick. Han Palace has been around for over twenty years and I can see why. Offering good, cheap food with quick and polite service is a pretty successful way of doing business. The Klingon decor is just an added bonus.

Good friendly service meets sub standard food...meh. Wont go back -Owners are personable - Food is well um weird ive had lots of chinese from different states and none quite like this? egg rolls are nasty, general tsao's sauce ok but fatty chicken and the rice had no flavor. ..its just outdated, beat up, and in need of dusting.

OMG i cant say enough about this place. i have been coming here for years. the only place i will eat Chinese food. the general chicken is the best. its not all thick and gross like alot of other places. the chow mein is delish. the vegetables are still alittle crunchy thats how you can tell it is fresh and made to order, not sitting around.the drinks are great and the waitstaff is friendly.in all the years ive been coming here( about once every two weeks).the owner is always there to greet you at the door and still comes over to ask how the meal is. i would defiantly recommend this ace

I have been coming here for almost ten years and after tonight I will probably never come back. Besides the food being unusually subpar, the service was horrendous. The older chinese woman that was our server was so rude it completely ruined our meal. I asked if there was a children's menu and before I could even finish asking she snapped at me and told me to order a combo before I could even get my whole question out. Then she never brought our appetizer and when I told her, she said it was my fault for not telling her before our entrees came out, which would have been impossible since the only time I saw her was when she dropped off our drinks after ordering. Being given the option to take home our app or not pay for it because she admitted to never putting it in was the last nail in the coffin. No manager came to speak to us and she didn't bother to come back. A decade long tradition has come to an end and I'll make sure to tell everyone of my experience to spare them the same. And the volcano bowl was terrible.

Han's is a bit dark and not overly fancy, but it's a great local place to get great food and drinks without breaking the bank. In my opinion it's much better then their more popular and expensive competitor The Islander just down the road. I wouldn't chose it for a romantic dinner or special occasion but it's a great place to meet friends for a casual dinner or drinks after work. It can get loud in there but that's also part of the beauty as you don't have to worry about disturbing anyone if you're in a big group. It is especially good if you have small children as no one seems to mind if a child desires to be a little loud during dinner. The waitresses and bartenders are always friendly and the drinks are strong! It has become my go to over The Islander if I don't want to stray far from home.

Parking can be tricky on a Friday or Saturday night. Or just about any busy time during the week for that matter. Regardless, the food is great. They use all white meat with their chicken dishes, the portions are large enough and priced reasonably. Eating at the location can be odd as there are no windows. I usually get take out from here on nights when I don't want to cook. While the service is good, they really need to have a phone outside of the kitchen for take-out orders. I shouldn't have to shout my order in because the noise in the kitchen is so loud. All in all, very good. I have only had a few minor hiccups with incorrect orders but it has always been rectified in a timely and professional manner.

Best americanized chinese! They do use MSG...but you can get any dish without it....it might just take a few extra minutes. Which is really not a long wait at all. I have been going since there was a pool table where the dining area is! It is always very clean and well taken care of. Only strange thing is there are no windows. Many regulars and fantastic service. Owner, Keith, is an amazing person and a hard worker. No matter what takeout is only a 10 minute wait. Even on holidays and such.

Awesome! Yeah there's no windows and erie lighting, but Americanized (spelling???..lol) Chinese food at its best! Service was courteous, fast and friendly. Had a very strong Volcano with the bf and holy smokes it was strong (and we know how to drink!)

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
