A bit pricey, but they offer a lot of good deals including 2 entrees with a bottle of wine for $40 (not sure if they do this on weekends as well but definitely on weekdays). Entrees run from $20 up to $30 and hey offer great sandwiches that are in the $15 range. Service was pretty good when we went and parking, which can be a pain in Warren, was pretty good. They also do lots of livingsocial deals.

Food and beverages fantastic! Highly recommend for lunch or dinner. It's a favorite birthday spot and a great spot to bring my relatives from the west coast.

Overall was pretty good. The red sangria was very good. A little steep at 9$ a glass though. I had the lobster naan.. For the price is was disappointing. Not very much lobster, I feel like the tomatoes filled it up more than it should have been.. And the tomatoes in there made a lot of juice inside the sandwiches making it very leaky. Service was good though. But it wouldn't order the lobster naan sandwich again

The place was classy and there was seating outside, however the food was not so great. It was expensive, and the seafood dishes sounded amazing.. however, they were all sort of bland. Also, there wasn't any salt or pepper on the table, which indicates it should be seasoned very well, but is was not. My biggest gripe was that they claimed to offer a gluten free menu, and did have gluten free options, however, the fryer is shared with gluten items. This is not truly gluten free and makes this place have very few options for someone with celiac disease. They should clarify on the menu that it is in a shared fryer.

Homegirl needs her senses catered to; Eyes and ears, and mouth and nose, head shoulders knees and toes. Trafford had their work cut out. Homegirls eyes experienced a classic view of boat yards and sail boats. Classic NE Homegirls ears were in tune to the music playing, a variety of classics soft rock hits. However, not homegirls ear candy. I want to look out at a rock, not hear it. Homegirls mouth munched through a garden salad with balsamic vinaigrette and a side of chicken. Fresh and tasty. A healthier , lighter option for homegirls sizable sections. The chicken was a tad small, I ain't afraid of my lean proteins Trafford- show me the meat. Homegirls nose was neither yay not neigh. But the true nose test is NOT the dining room but the depths of doom-The bathroom. Homegirl is not to be tried with restroom cleanliness. Homegirl has the ability to derail a thriving establishment with just one review , and If the bowl ain't clean, Homegirl bein' mean. Trafford can rejoice as they have passed homegirls bathroom test. They provided not only a clean laboratory, but an ode to all that is posh and up cycled. Homegirls' head shoulders knees and toes will most likely grace this establishment again. If you want to holla at yo Homegirl , you can spot her using the head shoulders knees and toes method. Homegirls shoulders will always be poised, her knees will not be ashy, and her toes are assured to be pedicured next time, around Trafford.

View is awesome (but its the same view at neighboring restaurants) Ambiance is classy Food is overpriced, was just okay -crab cakes were bready -steak was overcooked -swordfish was blah Service was just okay I expected a lot more based on prices and ambiance but it fell terribly short.

This update is specifically for the brunch - it blows. No wonder it's empty on a Saturday morning. Rassled my entire extended family here for waterside dining, given how much I love this pace for an afternoon bottle of prosecco, mussels, and the boats. Breakfast misses the mark! Omelets were over cooked, my crab cakes were mushy; I couldn't look at the former and I couldn't eat the latter. My dad has sever celiac and the waiter was affirming in his accommodation, but those medical needs were not passed on to the kitchen. Things that can't touch the plate were on there. Extra orders of protein were charged to the bill but never delivered. A huge disappointment! And I was one unhappy RI hostess. Stick to lunch and dinner. I did have an amazing piece of salmon and risotto here on the 4th of July , but after breakfast, I don't think I'll be back soon. Very inconsistent.

I have now been back to Trafford a few more times and I feel compelled to update my review. The space is still beautiful--stunning, really, the food is still delicious and the service is still excellent. I seem to have avoided the run of bad service that other reviewers experienced, because I've had consistently good luck. Most of the times I've been here, I've sat in the bar, but recently I went in for a full, sit-down dinner. I had the fish tacos and my dining companion had a steak. No complaints from either of us, and the was no food left on the plate. The potion sizes were absolutely perfect in that I could get an appetizer/salad and entree and eat them without feeling like I had to waddle away. I'm a bit greedy, and tend to eat everything on my plate, so I really appreciate a restaurant that gives you an appropriate amount of food rather than serving you a GIANT plate that you'll mostly take home. The food at Trafford is exactly right so that I felt full and satisfied but not gross. If you do want two days worth of leftovers, try somewhere else. Our cocktails were perfect, though I wish they had given me more olives for my martini. Dirty means I like olives, guys. The beer list was expansive and had something for everyone's taste. Service was excellent. Attentive but not intrusive, and I like that our server re-folded my napkin while I was staring blissfully at the water. That was a fancy touch I would never expect, but I enjoyed it. I have honestly never had a bad plate of food at this place, and everything comes out of the kitchen looking like something from a cooking show. Eat with your eyes first! I can't wait to go back this summer and sit on the deck.
(4)Jeffrey B.
My poor review did bring about a response from a manager and I accept his apology and look forward to giving Trafford's another visit. We do believe the problem we encountered was atypical and things in ,I've don't always go as planned!

So I'm still here and this is one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. The short story; if you can't handle large parties--don't accommodate large parties. I get my masters degree one time and I chose this place to commemorate it. We have a party of fourteen and the entire experience has been disjointed. It took an hour and a half to get our food. We had to ask for salt and pepper multiple times. They forgot two main dishes, screwed up a few other dishes and overall things were painfully slow. Drinks took far too long, the waitress looks miserable and has less than a personality. I won't recommend or come back, despite the beautiful views. Trafford, you were extremely disappointing.

I've been to Trafford many times over the years so when we were back in the Bristol area for a wedding it was high on my list of Friday night dinner options. I was very surprised to see some of the negative reviews on Yelp, as I'd never had anything other than a good experience, but I decided to go with my gut and make the reservation. I'm glad I did. Everything was just as good as I remembered! We all got wine, nice healthy sized pours, and a few appetizers to share. The crab cakes were awesome, calamari light and fresh, and the fried stuffed avocado was delicious. For dinner I got swordfish with a garlic aioli over some delicious couscous. Another member of my party got salmon and said it was some of the best he's ever had, and he's in the restaurant business and a big food critic. Our waitress was super nice and really knew the menu and how things were cooked, so she could give us great advice. She also timed everything perfectly in terms of giving us time to decide what we wanted and then bringing out our appetizers and dinners well-spaced apart from one another. Toward the end of our meal there was a HUGE influx of people, so it did take a really long time to get our check, but I don't think that was anyone's fault in particular. Everything else about our experience was awesome so I still give it 5 stars!
(5)Judith M.
Absolutely horrific! First time at Traffords was a nightmare. We waited for server who finally came to take our drink order BUT half an hour later we had not received them nor had anyone offered an explanation for slow/poor service. When we asked for our waiter he appeared intoxicated or high (slowed speech). He said the bartender had not made the drinks yet but he could take our meal order "NO WAY"! On our way out the hostesses apologize with a grimacing shrug and one rolled her eyes when I said we were leaving due to the horrible service. To top it off the manager/owner was obviously disconnected from the reality that his waiter was incompetent. He made excuses and offered a late and unsympathetic apology -this makes me sad. *Valet service staff were fantastic!! I applaud their professionalism and maturity.

The fish tacos and the crab cake are among my favorite dishes. It you cannot be on the terrace because it is too crowded or too hot go for the air conditioned second floor inside along the windows facing the harbor such as table 206.
(5)Nick F.
Excellent food and service, we love this place! Friendly staff and wonderful views, awesome fish and chips.
(5)Chris B.
Casual restaurant with awesome view, great atmosphere, great food and excellent service. What more can you ask for?

Went to Trafford a couple times this summer and have had great experiences both times. Most recently went for brunch and had the Creme Brulee French Toast...which was both light and filing. It came with fresh strawberries and bacon! Yum...The best part of the visit was being able to say hello to the chef that was walking through the dining room. He popped into our table and asked how everything was and struck up a conversation. It was rather refreshing to see someone so concerned about the customers reaction of the food. He gave a lot of his credit to his staff. Great front of house care with young staff was also a treat as well. Being a restaurant professional and knowing how it is to train young people, it was a treat. Props to Trafford...Keep it going!

You will not be disappointed in Trafford! I loved it so much I even booked it for our wedding reception. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, the space is simple and elegant, the drinks are wonderful, and the food is absolutely delicious. I have now eaten here twice, and tried quite a bit of the menu. I have to say there really isn't anything I didn't like. Their soups are some of the best I have ever had (I tried the clam chowder, lobster bisque, and butternut squash), the fried oysters with apple cider glaze on their fall menu are so unique and delicious I could eat them all day. Their fries are perfectly crispy, and the fish tacos are light and fresh. One of my favorite parts of this place is their seasonal menu. You will always have the freshest ingredients, and their menu is creative and elegant as well. Certainly slightly off the normal path of Bristol/Newport, but well worth the trip!

So here's the thing, I like the idea of this place being my secret brunch locale so if you could possibly ignore this review and instead spend 45 minutes waiting for eggs and home fries in Pvd, while I sit looking over the water and sipping on my mimosa's enjoying the beautiful decor of The Trafford. This place is glorious. Their brunch menu is complete and flavorful - with all the regulars, French Toast, Eggs Benedict & Fish Tacos; and their coffee really hits the spot. The service is unobtrusive yet attentive, the restaurant is warm and cozy even on the coldest days by the water. Even the drive to The Trafford from Providence is beautiful, though I'm not sure how much credit I can give the restaurant for that :o) Done waiting in the cold in Pvd? Head to Warren and pay the folks at The Trafford a visit and tell them Toby sent you .... Not that it will get you any special treatment but with the quality of food and service you will receive, you'll think it did. Eat Well Providence.

We ate lunch here today. The swordfish sandwich special was well worth the drive. Patio dining to boot

Went here for lunch today with a friend and we sat on their deck outback and while it was cute, we were placed at a two top table that I found a little small and awkward. Our waitress who treated us was fairly nice. As an appetizer my friend and I got the Trafford Crab Cakes which came placed on top of a delicious mango salsa and topped with a chipotle aioli sauce. Very good and I'd highly recommend it. Now for a main course I ordered the New England classic: Fish 'n Chips. Before I describe the meal I do just wanna say one thing my waitress did that she really shouldn't have, was place the meal in front of me while I was shoving a bite of my crab cake in my mouth. I really would've preferred to have had finished my crab cake before my entree came out. For my entree, the fish 'n chips, it came with a good size of fish which was cod, hand cut fries which were good, coleslaw which was also good but nothing out of the ordinary, tartar sauce, and a lemon wedge. While it was good, I feel like the cod had very little flavor to it and I kept having soak the cod in the tartar sauce just to get any flavor. Overall, this place isn't that bad but I probably won't be going back.

Wonderful lunch experience, great sandwiches, beautiful scenery with excellent views of the river and fancy yachts. Caveat, I happen to be here on the one day where the waiter was just not excited to be anywhere near us. He was certainly polite, but I couldn't get him to smile at all during the entire meal, and on multiple attempts to ask for his name, he just left the table, as if he didn't hear it. I'm sure we all have bad days, but this was one bad day that seeped outside his own life and affected this review from a 5 star to a 4 star. On to the food, the parmesean haddock was just absolutely wonderful; it was flaky, warm, soft and hugged by two soft brioche buns. It was certainly one of the best fish sandwiches I've ever had. The portobello sandwich was also surprising, although I wished there was more sustenance to the sandwich. The burger was decent, nothing crazy. The crab cakes, were a bit fried and salty for my taste. Overall, beyond the service, this was an excellent lunch experience and I strongly recommend it for all Warren/Barrington folks to visit on a beautiful day. Food: 4 stars Price: 3 stars Service: 2 stars Ambiance: 5 stars

I've come here twice, one good experience one bad. Let's start with the good. I came here with my mother and sister recently for brunch. We sat outside, we had mimosas (which were very good), and the food was delicious. I had the huevos rancheros, and the bean cake that they serve with that is really something. My mom and sister got the crab eggs Benedict, and were very happy with it. And now for the bad experience. My husband and I came here on Valentine's Day this year. I should just say that it's the perfect kind of place to go for Valentine's Day: the atmosphere is wonderful, the restaurant is lovely, the tables are intimate but not too crowded, etc. But some of you may remember that on Valentine's Day this year, there was a massive amount of snow. A lot of people were canceling plans, but my husband and I decided to be intrepid and go for it, despite the weather. We called first, though, to make sure that they were still open and our reservation was still valid. They said that they were. But this brings us to the first problem: the staff was obviously nervous about getting home, and we were feeling like we were being rushed throughout the meal. Not that I blame them, I mean, safety is first, but if that's the case, I wish they would've told us that on the phone. It's not like we were getting a discount to compensate for the hurried meal. The bigger problem is with the meal, though. Not that it wasn't good, it was delicious. But part of that deliciousness included a calamari appetizer that had sausage made from pork. The description on the menu did not say that it had any meat in it, and then when we asked the waitress, she didn't know what kind of meat it was, and we had to really tell her to go and find out. The first time she came back and said something funny and nonsensical like, "don't worry, it's not pork, it's sausage." Finally, she was able to confirm that it was actually pork sausage. My husband is Muslim and does not eat pork, but he had already eaten some of the appetizer without realizing that it had pork in it. That's kind of a big screwup. But, like I said, the food was *pretty* good. Obviously that bad experience wasn't enough to stop me going back.

Classic New England Style restaurant on the water front! Went in for oysters and a few drinks. Friendly service and fresh oyster with a great view. Check it out if your passing through!
(4)Rachel C.
This is the kind of place you've just gotta sit outside at. The picturesque view of the water is something you want to remember long after the summer is gone. I couldn't even tell you what the inside looked like! So, while we sat outside and sipped on our champs, we enjoyed some tasty bites as well. As you all know, I'm pretty obsessed with Caprese Salad so I was happy to see it on the menu. While I thought it was okay, I didn't really think it was the freshest crop of tomatoes I've seen. There's no excuse for not having good maters during mater season! However, the Fish Taco's more than made up for the salad. They were three pretty decent size tacos with TONS of fish loaded in. I mean, it was so much it kept falling out of the taco! I enjoyed the crunchy slaw and sauce they dress it with as well. You could really order the tacos and be fine for a meal since it's such a generous portion. But moral of the story is I'd sit on the deck with some champs any day!

I really want to like this place, as the decor and view are lovely. Be prepared to wait for your meal as the service is slow. I've been here a total of four times now, and every time the experience is the same: nice ambience, totally forgettable food. It's just not... good. I don't know how to describe it other than by saying it's completely mediocre. It all tastes as if it's been sitting out for a while, stale and chewy. Everything I've eaten here has been overcooked and dry, be it bread pudding or fries. There's also not much flavor in their food, they need to use salt. When you eat something that is delicious and well-prepared, you can taste the love. Love is solely lacking in Trafford's output. And it's a lot of money for both quality and quantity. It's funny, I think because of its beauty that's why a lot of people rate this place so highly. It's like, "oh, this place is so beautiful, their food has to be good!" I was surprised to see all of the glowing reviews. Maybe they're just used to eating really bad food. Or maybe I happened to come here on an off day... four times.

Incredible. This restaurant has fantastic views of the water and delicious food and drinks to match. Try the cucumber watermelons martini and the raw seafood platter. The seafood was some of the freshest I have had anywhere and at a decent cost. Boyfriend had a Long Island iced tea and fish tacos which were equally as delicious. Service was exceptional as well. We have been previously for brunch and have never disappointed. If you are in the area this place is above par. Stop in and soak up the views and superb food and drink.

clean, friendly, beautiful atmosphere, accomodating and most of all good food! my party was extremely happy with the food and service and upon leaving we were already discussing coming back again and what we would try on our next visit!!! not too cheap and not overly expensive with the added bonus i think i got more than i paid for experience!!! ordered from the breakfast menu for the record :)
(5)Koren P.
Loved food and atmosphere here. Sat on the back deck had the best martini and food yum would definitely recommend the ahi tuna sliders and grilled chicken panini
(4)Jennifer A.
First and most importantly, the food & ambiance were amazing. We dined on the patio and had the calamari, fish tacos and salmon all equally as good....and demolished our plates. The Prickily Pear martini was sickening sweet- but to be fair I wasn't sure what a prickly pair tasted like and expected the taste of a standard variety pear- which it's not. Unfortunately our first impression of the place was Terrible. Aside from the incredibly hard working waitresses and one dedicated bus boy- the staff consisted of a bunch of lazy kids who seemed bored to be at work with little/no regard for guests. The hostesses were two teenage girls talking to one another who never acknowledged us- we had to interrupt their non-work conversation to ask for a table for 2 outside- they said I don't know I'll go look came back and said 'yeah ok'. Then we waited...a waitress finally took our drink order and told us another waiter would be coming by to take our order- he was a no show. After 10 min the other waitress felt bad for us and took care of us. Throughout the dinner we watched as the bus boys/girls, bartender, bar back all milled around, leaning against the wall or socializing- never filling water or doing anything! , when they brought our food the bus/expo kid asked 'how he should fit the plates on the table, because the tables are too small'- um it's your job to figure this out, not mine. Another one tried to take my plate while still eating. I feel really bad for the owner/chef of Traffords because it's clear he's passionate about the food and it's high quality, innovative and delicious - unfortunately a less passionate staff can really ruin the place. Hopefully it's early enough in the season to address the issues.
(4)Dennis M.
Horrible experience. We waited over 90 minutes for our meals and didn't even receive an acknowledge of the delay. Our waitress continued to "forget" about us - only commenting that "it's really busy" even though only 1/4 of the tables were full and the restaurant was amply staffed. The main courses were subpar to dreadful. They over cooked my burger, undercooked my friend's steak, and somehow burned the sauce in my wife's pasta. To me it was Diner food at a premium price. I am never going back. The location is great - it's a shame the restaurant is so sub-par
(1)Lisa R.
Nice waterfront restaurant. Fried clams are very tender and sweet. I also have had the strawberry chicken, also delicious. Great place to watch the sunset. Salmon was also very good as well.
(4)Sophie R.
I have only been once to Trafford, for Sunday brunch, and I really enjoyed the experience. The Blood Mary's were excellent, and the eggs benedict were perfect. The restaurant is gorgeous inside, clean and bright, with a modern classic seaside feel. The views are spectacular as well. Only drawback was the price. The food was delicious, but I don't know that it was worth exactly what we paid. Definitely will be coming back and I'm hoping to capitalized on their dinner for two at 35$ when the special returns this winter (fingers crossed).
(3)Zared G.
Stopped in here for brunch this morning and had a fantastic experience. It was a rainy day, holiday weekend, and the place wasn't too crowded. perfect, no wait! the staff was all smiles and courtesy. My bloody mary hit the spot. We ordered the eggs and hash and the omelette with shitake mushrooms and arugula. both were delicious! I'm sure when the weather is nice and you can sit outside on the water, this place would be even better.
(4)John L.
Ok, every restaurant has a bad night now and then. And we hit one. After being seated we were told our waitress would be with us in a moment. She wasn't. Finally, we put n a drink order - a French 75 and a Cape Codder. She returned, stating that the bartender didn't know how to make the fancy drink, strange in this age of look up anything and learn how to make it. I went to the bar with a google recipe and the good-natured bar tender made one in 3 minutes. End of the good news. 10 minutes later and I don't have my drink, nor were we approached for an order. I flagged a hostess who said waitress would be right with us. She wasn't. Flagged someone else and was told computer system was down. Still no drink. Still no,waitress. 5 minutes later my drink arrives. When I mentioned that that was quite a wait, she said she was behind because of a down system. When I mentioned that a drink could have taken 2 minutes and we've been left essentially alone, she started to cry and left. Enter waitress 2. By now, my wife and I are upset and would like to leave. We ask simply for a drink bill. Now, at this point a manager should have come over and done something. Apologized. Comped the drinks. Explained the delay. If hadn't called two hostesses over, we would never have known what the problem was. Instead, waitress1 returns and sheepishly leaves a bill. So, for all our inconvenience, we got a $20 bill for the drinks. Not a way to resolve a customer issue.

I wasn't expecting much when i came here..i figured just another seafood spot with mediocre food. i was so surprised by my food, the decor and the service. When you first walk in, you get a really laid back, rustic, romantic feel (They even had fresh flowers). The restaurant is by the ocean and it was just the perfect day, very calm wind, not hot at all, just perfect. There's an abundance of outdoor seating. We started off with a few beers, had apps (Oysters, Scallops with bacon and Fried wontons with duck. It was all fancy and stuff, which was nice because i do appreciate nice presentation but it also tasted GREAT. Our entrees were amazing..We all agreed as a group that everything was AWESOME SAUCE and that we'd come back. Im not a big review writer but i felt i needed to tell people about this place..a hidden gem definitely!

I've been hearing wonderful things about Trafford for a while, so I was super-psyched when an opportunity presented itself for me to go for lunch. Warren? Waterfront? Seafood? What's not to love. Well, I was not disappointed when I arrived at the sun-filled space that is Trafford. I was warmly greeted, promptly seated and given a menu to look over, along with specials. The menu reads like an upscale pub-meets-seafood restaurant - fish tacos, crab cake sandwich, ahi tuna salad... You get my drift. Everything is elegantly presented and prepared from scratch, including their amazing chips. I went for the house salad for my side dish, though - it was a HUGE portion of fresh greens lightly dressed in a balsamic dressing and went very nicely with the lightly battered and beautifully fried fish in the tacos. The slaw and sauces that topped the tacos were very flavorful and didn't overpower the seafood, which I appreciated since it was so fresh. I know they do an awesome brunch on the weekends, and after my fabulous lunch, I can't wait to make another trip to Warren to eat at Trafford.

Trafford is certainly a breath of fresh air in the heart of downtown warren right on the water. I have been there a total of 5 times and finally decided to publish a review. When we walked in we were greeted by a very welcoming and friendly hostess who did all that she could to accommodate our (party of 4) request to sit on the water. Outside on the main level there is a deck that accommodates several parties - almost surprisingly large for the overall size of the restaurant. The hostess granted our request within 5 minutes with a beautiful table right on the water. We were greeted by our waiter in a timely manner and throughout our meal he did everything he could to make sure everything was perfect - and it certainly was. I ordered the fish tacos, they were great - a little on the room temp side when placed in front of me but I was fine with it in the moment. My companion ordered the lobster roll which I have had before - it was spectacular. The only negative about the lobster roll was the price - an astounding $26! I have had several lobster rolls in several states and restaurants and have never spent $26 on one. I would say - comparing it to others - it was a $20 dish at most. Also the cocktails were priced a bit high for "Warren" - martinis that arrived not even filled to near the rim were $12. Overall Trafford gets a 4-star rating mostly due to the prices being just a touch higher than I felt was appropriate. Otherwise - a wonderful and delish place to get any meal of the day, although I have only been for brunch and lunch. I will definitely be back!

I came here recently for lunch with a friend who works nearby. It was a little chilly but we were able to sit out back on the deck. Even with the clear plastic tarp around the deck, the view kicks ass. The service was good and more importantly my burger rocked. It was cooked perfectly and the fries were great. I would recommend ordering it without the caramelized onions. I was burping those damn things up all day/night. I can't wait to come back when it's warm out.

The winter time $35 Dinner for Two with a Bottle of Wine finally brought me and my husband into this lovely restaurant. It's situated right on the water with a gleaming (classicly New England) quahog shell parking lot and beautiful custom woodworked interior. The dinner special menu had a good number of options and I made sure to peek at the regular menu for reference as well. Prices are a bit on the high end for this area but they are not unwarranted. Lots of seafood options and inventive items such as a Lobster Sandwich on a bolo and the fish tacos were mighty tempting. We were good though and stuck to the Dinner for Two menu. We were NOT disappointed at all! The trio of baked stuffed shrimp was amazing! They came served with perfectly cooked green beans and roasted potatoes and a mini crock of clarified butter. The stuffing was a classic cracker/bread crumb stuffing but with herbs and aromatics that brought a real depth to the flavor. Husband ordered the braised pork and exclaimed it was "literally, fall-off-the-bone tender!" We were too full for dessert but we will definitely be coming back here for drinks, live music, great food, brunch and wonderful water views!

This restaurant is what I'd call a 5 star-plus experience. A gorgeous waterside view, elegant interior, top notch service by Ashley and excellent cuisine and drinks. It feels like a hidden secret really. I wouldn't have known about it had I not taken a walk through the neighborhood. The mozzerella arancini balls were an excellent appetizer. It was followed by a panzanella salad molded into the shape of a perfect tower. All this was washed down by a very large pumpkin caramel swirl martini- tis the season. The owner, Russ, was very proactive and explained his philosophy behind this wonderful restaurant. I look forward to returning and further sampling their menu. PS a choice of aioli with certain seafood apps would be great.

I'm clearly in the minority, but I've now had more than 5 visits where every single time someone's meal was disappointing somehow or straight up disgusting. There is no excuse for being served rancid fish 3 meals in a row. With the price premium here, it's just another slap in the face. This place needs to get its act together.
(1)Adam M.
Great food with a great location! One of the best lobster rolls around. Drinks are amazing too. Great place for a Fri/Sat night date night. Definitely worth checking out!
(4)Stephanie W.
Spent another great day in RI. The highlight of the day was lunch at Trafford's. I had the seared scallops for lunch and it was definitely the best dish I have had at any restaurant in a long time! My husband also enjoyed his salad and side of steak. Their beef is always cooked perfectly. We love this restaurant and always eat there when we bike in RI. No reason to go to any other restaurant because we've tried them all and this place is the best.

Trafford had nice waterfront seating with a great view. The cocktail menu is very expansive but the beer selection leaves much to be desired. The fish and chips were some of the best I've ever had including the fries. Prices were above average and the service was just below average.

Inviting little town has a newish cozy spot on the water, as inviting aromas beckon. Clam chowder is a star as well as the reasonably firm cod sandwich. Yay.

Arrived early afternoon - seated right away. Lynn (server) came as soon as we were settled in and told us the specials, took drink order, came back with drinks, warm rolls and EVOO/balsamic dipping sauce. The cod pan roast was a wonderful variant on bouillabaisse, cooked to perfection (order was so large, had to take some home). Wine selection was small but appropriate for the mains served. Open room, great views over the river/harbor (should be even better when the boats are re-launched). Will be back often

I recently found my notes on Traffords, and figured that now was as good a time as any to catch up on an overdue review . If it's nice outside, the patio seating is a beautiful place to dine. With the salt water rolling in, I was craving a beer. It took my server 15 minutes to return with said beverage . The only reason I noticed the time was the impatient friend that I was with kept commenting on it. In all honesty, had I been dining alone , that one might have slipped by me. I decided to try the lobster and corn fritters and a medium rare burger. The fritters were wonderful. Light and crispy with plenty of corn throughout. As for the lobster, I didn't find one piece in the entire batch. It's a shame. Had they been advertised as corn fritters, I would have been ecstatic over them. Jack up the price by four bucks an order and claim that there's lobster inside and instant disappointment is had. I often judge a restaurant on their burger. I won't order steak until I determine if a place can cook a burger. To sum it up, I waited an hour and a half on a not very busy afternoon for a burger that was beyond well done. The meat was flavorful, and would have been great if cooked to order. There was a lot of potential with Traffords. Recent reviews seem to hint that it's finding it's stride. Maybe I'll give them a shot when I return for a visit home this summer.

Pros: Great waterfront view and heated porch w/ outdoor bar. Always very good service. Easy parking w/ menu for everyone. I've had dishes here that tasted wonderful - even simple salads. Cons: Food was a little slow, especially because the order was so simple. I had the fish tacos last time I was here. They weren't bad but they had no taste - I nearly put ketchup on them. Was a little unsatisfied when I left for the price. Overall, it's a fine restaurant and a safe choice if you want a reliable meal in Warren, but there are much better places to eat in the area for the price.
(3)Darcy D.
Fantastic restaurant in the heart of Warren's waterfront. Great cocktails, interesting menu and wonderful views all come together for a wonderful dining experience. Definitely go with their mojito, one of the best I've ever had. On my last visit I had an incredible pork chop and my husband had a fish dish that was outstanding.

Another beautiful view in the East Bay. I can't get enough of the vista from the deck. The staff was attentive -- actually almost too attentive. It was a Tuesday night and the deck was full (way too nice to eat inside), but it was almost too much. I had clam chowder -- beautifully thick, full of clams and potatoes cut just the right size. Quite tasty. My best friend had the blueberry yogurt soup (soup of the day). It was good. She ordered to try a yogurt soup and liked it. Then we split the mussels and the strawberry & spinach salad. Both were good. They were not great, but they were good. The mussels were plentiful -- but the bowl was not shaped to allow you to access the broth until you were at the bottom of the order. I wish there was easier access to the broth. The spinach salad was good-- the spinach leaves were HUGE and it would be better to have it be shredded or cut more. But that may be because we were sharing the same plate. I would go back and try it again.

We come to Trafford on a weekly basis because the food is good enough, it's close to home, and it's in a nice spot. I don't usually write reviews, but I think this is a necessary one. The food at Trafford is very inconsistent. The service is even more inconsistent. We've waited 45 minutes for brunch entrees to come out when the restaurant only has 3 tables. The servers are straight up weird, and often have no qualms visibly ignoring us. The hostess is terrible--it's not rare for us to wait 5,10, 15 minutes before being acknowledged. I see the owner sitting at the bar almost every time, seemingly oblivious to what is going on. I've been told there are seats at the bar during a busy service, only to walk upstairs to find that there are no available seats, but that people are awkwardly standing around the bar, lining up into the upstairs dining room waiting for what? A table? A drink? The hostess doesn't know this? We were left upstairs with no idea what to do or where to go, with servers, bussers, hostesses walking around us with not a word. At this point in our relationship, Trafford--I think it's time to step it up. Mr. Owner- go around to the tables and ask how everything is. If your bar is packed, give up your seat for a straggler. If you recognize a couple, go over and make them (us!) feel like you care about our business. We're in your stupid restaurant every week- literally. Servers- pay attention to your tables. Make sure everyone has water, make sure no one's wine glass is empty, make sure your customers aren't staring longingly at the kitchen wondering when they're food will come out. Communicate with the kitchen. If my father-in-law isn't even half way through his chowder--don't fire his entree and bring it out before he's done. Cooks- don't overcook the mussels and then leave them in the pass under a heat lamp for 10 minutes while you try and finish getting together a salad. Time your tables so they're ready to go at the same time. Use your brains. We DO know the difference.

The food was excellent. We had the striper special with sweet pea risotto and the stuffed cod with lobster. Both were wonderful. We also couldn't have asked for a nicer view of the Warren waterfront. The only reason we didn't give 5 stars is that the service was slower than molasses in January. As long as you aren't in a hurry, we highly recommend it!
(4)Bob B.
Nice place. Good location. We started with the tuna wontons that I thought were really good. I had the fish tacos that were skillfully prepared and my wife had the chicken pesto panini that was very good. A little pricy, but still a nice place.

Went for a night out for a friend's birthday a few weekends ago on a Friday. There was a decent size group of us, about 8-10 people. The atmosphere is beautiful - right on the water, outside bar and dining patio, beautiful indoor dining area with a number of windows looking out on the water. The food was delicious! We ordered chowder, calamari, crab cakes, and raw oysters for appetizers and I ordered scallops atop garlic mashed cauliflower puree with sweet pea risotto. The taste was to die for. Did everything but lick my plate! Prices were high, but to be expected given the location and quality of food. Service was fair. Not the most enthuased waitress, but she wasn't terrible. Wait time was good given the number of people in our party. Overall great night and will certainly be back!

I've been to Trafford 3 times. The scenic waterfront and inventive menu are capitol but the service is terrible. Expect to be ignored. The only time we were waited on was when there was literally only 1 other table. After waiting 20 minutes on my 2nd visit, I had to get up and track down my waitress in the dining room to place our order. The 3rd time we arrived at 2:11 PM. There were 5 other tables and 3 waitstaff. Our orders came at 2:51. All of us had sandwiches and fries. That takes 40 min? I could have walked to Blount's, had a lobster roll and walked back before our orders came. Our server did not apologize or address the passed time. Apparently, 40 min is the norm at Trafficford where you have to wait too long for everything. I will not be back no matter how good the food is or who's paying.
(2)Ronda C.
Amazing food but service is incredibly slow. Also if you have any food allergies BEWARE. Fries cross contaminated with seafood, not taken seriously by server or management.
(3)Karen S.
This was our second meal at Trafford and we really enjoyed it. The location and atmosphere are great. We started out with the wood-grilled Littlenecks with jalapeño butter. They had a nice smokey taste to them. I was sipping a delicious St. Germaine martini while my husband was drinking a Sam Octoberfest. One ding against Trafford is no draft beer, only bottles. The dinner rolls were hot and delicious. I had a nightly special, scallops and sausage with butternut ravioli in a brown butter sage sauce. It was excellent. My husband had a very generous piece of Cajun salmon that he enjoyed. They had a musician playing the night we were there and he was very good. Trafford is not cheap, but we really enjoyed our meal and they do have some items on the menu that are less expensive. All in all, a big thumbs up.
(5)Benjamin S.
Awesome place right on the water. Took my mother in law here and she is a picky eater and she loved the food and all staff including the server. We will make it a point to return.
(5)Helen D.
Maybe it is great place to go in the summer but it was a real problem for us on a Saturday night this weekend. The service was unbelievably bad and slow. There was a total lack of interest in the comfort and satisfaction of the clientele by the staff. The staff was very small and obviously overwhelmed but the atmosphere was just plain bad. The food was excellent once it arrived. But the white wine we ordered wasn't cold and there was nothing offered to chill it for us. All in all we were unhappy when we left and we probably won't go back next summer even though the location is great.
(2)Lori M.
A friend took me there for my birthday dinner last week and the food was amazing!! I had the Pecan Salmon and he had lamb....both were presented like a work of art on our plates, and tasted absolutely delicious! Their specialty drinks are very good as well. The staff was very professional and provided excellent service. Since it was nighttime and below freezing, we didn't get to experience the view from the patio, but I intend to go back there very soon, perhaps trying their brunch menu this time. This is definitely a new favorite of mine!

I liked the look and location of Trafford. While viewing the menu online, I thought the food would be equally as impressive. Tried it out today for lunch. Turns out that's mostly what this place has going for it-looks and location. With an ample and empty lot I was surprised that they offer valet parking. The only hit besides the appearance was the cold berries and coconut soup on special. Nice punch of ginger in that. The misses were; husband got served the wrong beer. The lobster and corn fritters were 9 smallish clam cakes (like Iggy's serves) lacking both corn and lobster. The sauce that came with was bland. Calamari was also completely forgettable. The staff although competent, were all young 20 somethings-chef included, who seemed overwhelmed in the half full restaurant. There was a (bridal?) shower in the event space upstairs, and the noise level sucked. I left feeling overcharged, and underwhelmed. Might try the brunch sometime, I heard it's great. Would recommend coming on a weekday afternoon or evening when you can grab a drink on the deck.

Arrived at 1 pm on Sunday hoping to get some brunch. It's Sunday, Brunch should be served until 3 pm. Not at Traffords. My boyfriend and I ordered Bloody Mary, they weren't bad. Then our order of calamari came. The worst. Extremely dry and salty. I asked for some marinara, or garlic and oil on the side and the waitress told me that they didn't serve their calamari that way. Then I had the mussels and and my boyfriend had the burger. My mussels were supposed to be in a white wine broth. There was barely anything at the bottom of the bowl. The mussels and fries were way too salty to eat. I had to send my meal back because they were inedible. I have never done this before, I am not usually a picky diner. I split the burger with my boyfriend. Again the fries were extremely salty. The burger was mediocre. I could taste that the quality of meat was not so great. Their beer list to me is ridiculous. The two beers that my boyfriend did order they were out of. They also had cans of Narragansett on the menu for $6. The view is beautiful (it is right on the water). Having a good view doesn't give you the right to serve overpriced food and drinks with the food tasting so salty it was inedible. This place was a waste of my money and my Sunday.

We had a party of 60 for a luncheon graduation. Have to say that the kitchen was slammed and our food took over 1.5 hours to get to the tables. The burgers were way under cooked but the fish tacos were tasty. I spoke with the Manager and he was not concerned when I told him I was unimpressed with the service. He informed me it was the fault of our party.for not sitting down sooner. He could have cared less. Nikki, the young lady I arranged this occasion with, was very helpful. All in all, our day was a nice one as the boys graduated and the sun was shining but I won't be going back to this restaurant.

*EDIT* The more I come to this GORGEOUS sunny little restaurant, the more I am blown away by the freshness of ingredients, and spot-on menu selection. They now serve brunch (on the weekends?) until 1PM. I got the house hash and eggs last weekend--totally phenom. Especially now that Sunnyside is closed next door... SO happy that this place has opened their warm and welcoming arms to gettin' their brunch on! For the brunch, I'm up'ing my review to 5 stars!! *EDIT* I adore this restaurant. It's a cute little organic seaside bistro located right next door to my favorite brunch spot, Sunnyside. As soon as you walk in, you'll notice that it's an absolutely beautiful venue. Sunlight everywhere (if it's a sunny day) and a gorgeous little sundeck for outdoor eating. The clam chowder is FABULOUS, especially when served w/ their warm, fresh-baked dinner rolls. I also like that this place offers moderately priced entrees (sandwiches) at $9-$12, alongside the more expensive dinner entrees (steak, chicken, seafood) at $20-$35. The french fries are also hand-cut and fresh-made to order. I'll definitely be coming back frequently. EXTRA TIP: Get the fresh asparagus, mushroom, and goat cheese fritatta!! UH-mazing.

My wife and I went to traffords with a living social coupon. We went for dinner on a Wednesday night, we made reservations but seating would not have been an issue. We got seats on the heated deck which had a beautiful view of the water. I started with a craft beer which they had a good selection albeit no drafts. My wife had a martini which was reported as being good. We started with the calamari which was cornmeal crusted and they topped it with an aioli which was very good. For my meal I had the cod pan roast, good meal on the loose lines of a bouillabaisse. My wife had the seared scallops with sweet rosiotto. I had the left overs the next day and they were good even then. The servers were helpful and my water glass never went dry.

Great view, classy atmosphere, good food, but inappropriately expensive. Prices would be appropriate for great view and great food, unfortunately it's only got one of two. Crowd is suburban professionals and upperclass housewives. If you've got a group who is fun in and of itself, and you want drinks and a view and are willing to pay Newport tourist drink prices; go to Tafford. If you're local and want to have a few reasonable drinks and watch the sunset, go elsewhere.

Wow, great trifecta of waterfront view, great service and great food. Reminds me of the Boat House in Tiverton. We just came in for lunch and I had the most delicious bleu cheese and bacon salad, Trafford Burger and fries (gosh bless the flakey sea salt!). P said the fish tacos were excellent. Our waiter was very friendly, happy and interested. Another good trifecta. Thanks Trafford, we'll be back!
(5)Jane H.
One of my favorite places in the East Bay. Beautiful outdoor deck, and it's covered so you don't have to worry about a few raindrops. And what a view! The menu is interesting and sort of homey at the same time.
(4)Meagan M.
Gorgeous atmosphere!!! The restaurant is truly a beautiful piece of property! I enjoyed my meal! My boyfriend said the mixed drink wasn't the best and for 10 bucks it should probably be delicious, it used apple cider and being a "craft bartender" it sounded yummy but the cider was just store bought not jazzed up with spices just kind of cloudy apple juice, a little bit of a turn off! The mussels were good the broth was really simple and worked well with the grilled bread! They were cooked perfectly. My 3 star rating is mainly because my sole dinner was delicious but it was a glorified fish and chip, a fried sole filet with a pecorino cream sauce with potato and asparagus should not cost 26 dollars ever, no excuse for bad pricing!!! My boyfriend had the duck which was cooked phenomenally and the sauce was great but he felt, as a chef that the sides were neglected completely and although the duck had great flavor the sides were boring and lacking flavor as compared to their description! The server was pleasant and the atmosphere was nice!

After spending a long holiday on the East Bay, Trafford ended up being my last stop before my 3 hour trek back home. Ended up being the perfect experience and meal before my car ride home. We made it there on a chillier day, however they seal off their outside deck and place heaters above each table, which was a nice treat, even on a overcast day. Our server was great and really honest; she even let us know her dislike for raw clams and oysters after we ordered them haha! Each person in our party went with a small appetizer. I had a few bites of the pulled pork sandwich and it was definitely one of the better pulled pork sandwiches I've had in recent memory; perfectly tender and marinated pork, topped with sliced pickles on a brioche bun. I just ended up having a few stuffy's and a half a dozen raw littlenecks, all of which was fresh and tasty. Between the fantastic service, great food and beautiful scenery (even in the winter) it's a definite must try for lunch in Warren.

My wife and I took ourselves to Trafford for a long overdue date. We had not heard anything about it from any of our friends, nor had we read any reviews before going so we didn't know what to expect. We were greeted and seated right away. The menu is classy with a bit of the unexpected. What I mean by that is the range of dishes. Lots of seafood and Americana but things like Steak au Poivre sharing menu space with classic surfer food like fish tacos. We went in the middle of the winter. Still a nice place but wow, I bet it's beautiful on the Warren waterfront during the summer when their outdoor seating is open. All in all, a great experience. I had the Steak au Poivre which was good. The stars of our meal though was the grilled little neck appetizer which I shared with my wife and the scrumptious bread pudding.

I've been dying to try Trafford for a while, but the lines in the summertime were too long for my impatient and uncooperative stomach to handle. So, Alas, I waited until a cold Tuesday night in the middle of winter. The restaurant had a great special: 2 meals and a bottle of wine for $35. The options on the list for the special were limited, but I got the Baked stuffed Shrimp. Very tasty. And just enough food for me to finish my plate without feeling stuffed. Nice ambiance. Great Spot. Will definitely head back there again.

Needed to find a place for lunch or brunch in Warren. Found this place via Yelp. We ordered from the breakfast menu. Two friends had the fish tacos which were great. I had eggs Benedict with crab cakes. Yum! The combo of the Hollandaise sauce with the seasoning in the crab cakes was terrific. Service was very good. I highly recommend this place.

I've been to Trafford twice now, once at the beginning of last summer, and more recently last night with my boyfriend. First of all, I have to agree with other reviewers that the space is beautiful, open, and cozy. I love that they have little white lights hung in the dining room. Last time I was here, we dined out on the deck, so it was nice to enjoy the upstairs this go around. To start, we each had a cocktail: the house margarita for him and a St. Germain Martini (recommended by our waitress) for me. I really loved the martini. It was made with grapefruit vodka, St. Germain, and freshly squeezed grapefruit juice. The tartness of the grapefruit was perfect with the sweet St. Germain. For appetizers, we shared the calamari and the seared ahi tuna. Both were flavorful, but the calamari was top-notch. It was tender with a really light cornmeal breading and there were peppers and slices of chorizo mixed in (bonus!). The tuna was sesame-crusted and kind of standard-no real wow factor. I probably wouldn't order it again next time and actually wish it had some sort of spicy kick or sauce to it. I love that the menu was presented on clipboards and divided into sections based on land, air, and sea. It was tough to decide because so many of the offerings were tempting. My boyfriend decided on a pan roasted cod with lobster crumbs, which he loved. I went with the mussels frites (one of my favorite dishes ever) and it did not disappoint. The broth was a garlicky white wine and the fries were hot and crisp. I liked the garlic aioli, but agree with other reviewers who said it was just kind of dripping all over the dish. I wouldn't mind having it on the side instead. The mussels were plump and tender, and not overcooked in the least (a huge shellfish pet peeve of mine). It was hard not to drink the broth with a spoon! Service was seamless. Lynn was sweet and helpful without interrupting our conversation. Water glasses were always full and she offered other drinks when our cocktails were low. The only hiccup throughout the night was that they were out of the chocolate cake we wanted to share for dessert. Oh well, it's a great reason to go back! *Call ahead to make a reservation. We were glad we did; it was packed for a Saturday in January. *They serve brunch on the weekends. *During warmer months, they have a great deck out back with an outdoor bar that overlooks the bay. Perfect for enjoying a drink and app from the raw bar while watching the sunset. *Great place to entertain out of town guests!

Had a lovely lunch here - enjoyed the menu celebrating Newport Restaurant Week. No beer on tap but bottle choices are favorites. The duck sliders appetizer was scrumptious; I would not hesitate to order these with a side of the fabulous fries for my meal next time. The fish tacos ARE terrific and the porta bello wrap was very tasty. The decor was modern and sleek, the ocean view/setting always cool and staff pleasant and professional. My only complaint is that once we were ready to leave, it felt like forever to get our check. We will be back.

Not good for special diets. I am a vegan so I checked the menu and called ahead before going to dinner here. When I arrived and asked my server about a vegan meal and he described a dish full of vegetables that sounded pretty good. What I got from the kitchen was something very different. My meal was merely some pasta drowning in oil mixed with some raw arugula and a scant amount of zucchini. It didn't taste good at all and wasn't what I ordered so I sent it back to the kitchen. When it came back out I was disappointed to see the exact same dish with some raw green beans and cherry tomatoes added, basically a salad mixed with pasta. I don't get to go out to eat often and I want it to be a special experience (not a salad). This restaurant put no effort into my meal at all and I was not only extremely disappointed but I left without eating. There are plenty of restaurants in Rhode Island with chefs who love to show off their talent and I have been presented with some very creative and delicious meals. Trafford has a nice atmosphere but unfortunately pleasing their guests who need to veer from the menu is not a priority.
(1)Todd L.
I am in Rhode Island regularly as this is our 2nd home. This place has quickly become a favorite of my wifes and I am pretty fond of it myself. The food is always fresh and the service is impeccable. You should really visit this place.
(5)Robert M.
Excellent service, reasonably priced and an atmosphere unparalleled. I definitely recommend everyone to come here and try one of their delicious lobster rolls!

I took my family for a Sunday dinner. We have a nice table but the rest of the dinner was a disaster! We did not have bread we waited a long time to get the dinner order. My wife ordered little neck in white clam sauce that was too creamy. My son in law ordered the most expensive steak on the menu and it was so bad that he only ate half of it. We waited a long time to get our dessert and to add insult to injury the bill came with an automatic 20% tips which is not justified by what we got for service We will never come back to this awful place
(1)Virginia B.
Very disappointing lunch today. The special salmon burger tasted like it was made from canned salmon; i ate less than half of the meal. My friend was not enthusiastic about her fish tacos but she did eat them all. The staff seemed short handed; no one greeted me when I arrived at 12:15 on a Friday. Service seemed slow. The decor is austere with the focus on the water so a better venue in summer, but the empty space made for difficulty in hearing conversations. To their credit when I left most of my food, the waitress took the charge off the bill. Incidently, for this neighborhood, the restaurant is pricey, especially the drinks which I did not sample.

Brought the boat around for a not-ready-to-be-done-with-boating-mid-Sunday-Âafternoon-drink-etc at Trafford, Warren town docks are close by and dingy mooring even closer. Beautiful renovation, extremely nautical without being kitschty. Deck wraps around the side of the first floor, overlooking the harbor and docks, outdoor bar and tables feature clear plastic sides and warming lights to make this an almost year-round outdoor spot. Inside light wood, high ceilings, and the most interesting inlaid wooden high polish tables I've seen in some time, make the dining atmosphere divine. There is an upstairs bar and dining area, typically open, but also available for private parties and rental - only charging for private use Fridays and Weekends (we'll see how that changes) with seating for up to 60. Now the food and beverage - interesting cocktails (my favorite St Germain martini was on the menu), a decent wine list, and well thought out lunch menu. We had the crab melt and hot pressed spinach mozzarella BLT. Both were great - my only complaint was that the bread at the bottom of the BLT was a bit soggy - condensation from the heat or poor drainage of the mozzarella, I don't know. Fries were served with coarse salt and in little folded over brown paper bags - nice touch. Can't comment on the dinner menu, except to say that we hope to be back soon to check it out. The service was excellent, and it didn't hurt that one of my favorite bartenders in the world from ZBar has found her way here (Natalia)! If the location wasn't enough - the rest will hook you into becoming a regular.

Beautiful, beautiful spot with solid food. I came here in July for an early dinner with a few friends, and we sat on the gorgeous waterfront deck. We tried the lobster corn fritters for an appetizer, which tasted like breading with a hint of lobster. I love breading and they were delicious, but usually if I order something with lobster in it I want it to actually taste like lobster. The dipping sauce wasn't great. For our entrees, I had the parmesean-encrusted fish sandwich which was perfect -- almost fried but just light enough to not feel guilty. Fish was tasty and flaky, and the fries tasted great, though could have been a little crispier. My friend (the birthday girl) ordered the strawberry spinach salad and the crab cakes. The salad was sprinkled with fresh mozzarella balls, pecans, and a light sesame and lemon (?) dressing. I'm definitely not a salad person, and I thought it was excellent. Crab cakes were solid and had a nice, almost spicy, bite to them. Another friend had the mussels, which were ok but the sauce wasn't anything special. All in all, a decent meal, but the reasonable prices and a beautiful interior and deck made up for whatever the food lacked. I would return but probably would stray more towards land than sea. I've heard their burgers are excellent, and in Rhode Island you can find truly excellent seafood for just as reasonable a price. Valet parking, which I guess was a nice touch, but seemed a little out of place in Warren, RI.

Amazing, waterfront dining in a quiet, removed wharf in Warren. It would be a shame not come here during day light or at the very least at dusk as the sun sets over the East Bay. Their specialty drink menu is not to be missed and if you need to wait for a table for dinner, it's only an excuse to pull up to the waterfront bar and enjoy some bourbon or infused vodka drinks. The menu changes with the seasons but on thing that doesn't change is their creativity and use of local foods. A friend and I shared the massive strawberry-blueberry salad and then split two fresh seafood entrees and I'm glad we did, it allowed us to try more menu items. The service is always good and the hot bread always come in a rolled down paper bag as it should! Highly recommend this place for a romantic dinner or intimate dinner with friends. I hear they have brunch, just haven't given it a try myself yet.
(5)Carol L.
Waterfront location is beautiful. The luncheon menu selection is extensive. The service is very good and courteous. Had the pumpkin creme brûlée for dessert it was delicious. Great experience. Will definitely go back for dinner Carol
(5)Lisa D.
Exquisite is the only word I can think of, and it applies to my entire experience at Trafford. The clean, modern architecture was completely unexpected. A hint of the water's edge location came through in beautifully executed, subtle style and made the interior vistas nearly as placid and smooth as the views of the water outside. Our server was attentive and prompt. The St Germaine martini was delicious and at $9, I was glad to see it was in a decent-sized glass, instead of the smaller ones often served at the same price. We started with the ample serving of Arancini Balls, which were incredible. I loved the pulled pork sandwich -- nice touch to layer a few fried pickles with the cheese -- and tasty, hand-cut fries in the adorable paper bag holder. My friend enjoyed her wood grilled pizza as well. Both were a great value for the creative, complex mix of flavors they offered. Honestly, I could have stayed here all damn day long. My consolation is that I can come back soon and try a few other items on the menu, and it won't be long before I'm back.

Stopped for a lunch today with my wife. Sat at the porch bar. We had lump crab cakes and two drinks. I had a Hendricks martini and Bev had Kendall Jackson chardonnay. The view was outstanding and our food was excellent. The service provided by the bartender was friendly and excellent. We will return on an evening when we can experience a full dinner. Glad we discovered this place via Rhode Island magazine.
(4)Anne L.
Really friendly staff and great food. Lobster roll had too much bread to lobster ratio. Other than that, Quality place with great views.
(4)Victoria R.
I've been to Trafford four or five times in the past two years. The view from the deck over the water is beautiful and the inside of the restaurant is really cute. Every meal I've had here has been delicious. I've had all vegetarian and fish options which there are several of, including the fish tacos more than once, a veggie burger, calamari, and huevos rancheros for breakfast. There is also a great drink menu. The problem is that every time I've come here, someone in my party has had a bad experience with their food. A few times, someone has gotten bad tasting fried clams, the breading of the fried fish was cooked but the actually fish was undercooked, etc. I guess it just depends what you order on the menu. It would be helpful for the restaurant to improve or change some of the menu options based on complaints. Other than this, I have always enjoyed my visits.
(4)SUSAN M.
This is the second time I've had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful restaurant. This time we snagged a table out on the deck, and proceeded to have an amazing meal. The Asian salad with sesame dressing and strawberries and blueberries was so delicious and huge, it was enough for all 5 of us to try! My stuffed cod had hunks of lobster meat and was cooked perfectly. Everyone remarked on how much they loved their dinner ( crab cakes, lobster roll, panini,) and how the quality cannot be beat. The staff is professional and the location lovely. I highly reccommend it for a great night out. After dinner we sat on the benches near the marina to take in the sunset which was beautiful :)

Went there last weekend with a group of friends. The wait staff was a utter disappointment to begin but we had seen the good reviews and hoped the food will make up for it. Surprisingly the food was worse than the service. We ordered 3 appetizers, one of which was the lobster fritter and it was undercooked. the other two were below average as well... We all also ordered different entrees and they were all very disappointing. The only good thing about the restaurant was the view...

My wife and I went to Trafford's last night and we where very pleasently surprised by the food and design of the room. The upstairs was awash in the setting sun and the very light colored wood gave the place a clean and happy feeling. Our food was very good and the wait staff was attentive. I would highly recommend visiting this new addition to East Bay dinning.

Spent a few days trying stuffed quahogs in various locations in New England. Traffords was the last stop and it blew the competition out of the water. SUGGESTION: Order a few as an appetizer and a few more to take home. You will not be disappointed!!

Great location on the water in Warren, but the food was disappointingly average. Have been twice, once for dinner and once for lunch, and both times the food tasted bland. My husband ordered shrimp, which, while large, were incredibly dry and chewy. I ordered chicken and it came in two massive pieces, with a heaping of rice and a sweet peach sauce. No garnish or greens. It was sweetness overload. I was hoping for something a little more sophisticated. It was just too much. Quantity over quality, which is something that really doesn't appeal. Such a shame, as looking out over the water was so nice.

I was less than pleased with my first experience at the new Traffords in Warren,RI. The building is beautiful, outdoor area picturesque on the water with a nice bar area. Inside is clean and has a wonderful coastal appeal. The dinning area was packed (so great to see!) and there was a 45 minute wait for dinner. My cousin and I sat at the upstairs bar and ordered the house cocktail and a couple of appetizers mussels and a roasted veggie antipasto with a panzanella salad while we waited. The Mojito was more like Lime Aide than the Cuban Mojito I am accustomed to drinking. And now onto the disappointment: Mussels Frites. The mussels were over cooked; the mussel was dried up to the size of a raisin. The bartender did not care when I told him the mussels were mediocre, he heard what I said yet was too busy making drinks for the waitresses. I asked for crusty rolls at the start of the appetizer to soak up the juice from the mussels, and the bread did not arrive until we were ready to leave (the bartender told us it would be a few minuets because they were baking them. Still hungry I broke the small roll in half only to be disappointed that the 'fresh baked" rolls were cold on the inside. The panzanella salad was a huge disappointment as well. It was cherry tomatoes, peepers and a few mixed greens with croutons on top. No self respecting Italian could confuse the chopped garden salad and croutons for what I grew up with: a rustic panzanella salad of fresh tomatoes and chunks of crusty I talian bread in a nice vinaigrette. The manager asked to clear our plates and offered to wrap the uneaten bowl of mussels ( by the way it was advertised served with roasted potatoes and instead had 10 cold French fries on top). I told her that I had told the bartender already that we would not be necessary as they were over cooked and unappetizing and I would not eat them. I could not believe what happened next the manager gave us a 1/2 glass of an after dinner beer, and the check, charging us for the uneaten mussels that appeared to be cooked the night before...for a very long time and the pathetic salad. I would not recommend the food, the mussels were over cooked, broth had no flavor and the vegetable antipasto was tasteless. I hope they work out there kinks soon or it will be a waste of a beautiful new restaurant. They rave and advertise where all the meat is raised and slaughter but could not answer where the "fresh seafood" is purchased. This is a major disappointment to our local fishermen and oyster farm.

Went here for Brunch on a beautiful Saturday morning. They had a great menu and the food was amazing! It is on the water and we sat outside so it was great. I would definitely recommend this place!

My wife & I had dinner at Trafford's a recent Friday evening. Outstanding views from the back deck of Warren & Barrington harbors, facing west so you get a nice sunset. We ate outside but inside is very bright and clean with lots of windows, also a nice area to sit. Interesting cocktail menu and beer selections. Food was not exceptional but certainly very good. I had the pan roast cod which is served liked a paella with mussels, shrimp, calamari, and chorizo in a seafood broth. Entree portion sizes were just right IMO... enough to feel full but not enough to be excessive. If you stay for dessert, the chocolate bread pudding is a winner.

We had a nice experience at Trafford. It's one of the few nice restaurants in and around the warren/bristol area where you can actually get lunch, so that's why we went. The views are spectacular, and they have lots of little tables for couples outside, which we took advantage of. The drinks, also top notch. Everything on the menu looked great, so I had a hard time deciding. I ended up going with the wedge salad. The ingredients were perfect, but the proportion was quite a bit off. My salad had two full heads of lettuce, cut in half, face down, and the right mix of dressing and fixings for about 1/4 of that amount. It was more of a "double globe" salad than a wedge. The heads were small, but I would go with a half of a small head, and chop it into 2 actual wedges, and dress it the same way. Hard to complain about getting too much lettuce, but it just seemed so strange to do a salad this way, and everything was dry as a result, as it was spread out evenly over all the "halves." My wife ordered the strawberry mint "soup" which sounded and tasted delicious, but it was basically a yogurt smoothie in a bowl. Again, hard to complain, just a little odd. We'll be back to try more things and drink in the tasty cocktails and delicious views, but so far, I'm not ready to give it 4 or 5 stars.

After enjoying Margeurite's in Fairhaven a few years back, we eagerly looked forward to trying Trafford. We were not disappointed. The clam chowder was excellent. Rich, creamy, wonderfully seasoned (loved the fresh tarragon), without being heavy. It was a little light on clams though. My wife isn't crazy about bleu cheese, so they happily substituted chevre in the poached pear salad. Flat out delicious. My wife's braised short rib was that perfect, hearty, savory dish for a cold autumn dinner. My deconstructed carpetbagger was a heavenly mix of flavors, aromas, and textures. From the minute they set down the dish, the wood grill radiated from the plate. The bacon was a perfect complement. The fried oyster tasted like the sea, lightly battered, cooked just right, salty and seafood-y without being fishy. And the charred onion, sherry, cream sauce was outrageously good. My kids ordered their usual kid fare, but as a result, we got to try their hand cut, french fries. So many other restaurant attempts at this are soggy and greasy. These were perfect, crispy yet tender, with no appreciable greasiness. Stephanie was our waitress, though we interacted with a number of the wait staff. All were terrific and went out of their way to engage our kids, which was a nice touch.

Perfect spot on the water with great ambiance. The outside deck can't be beat, but the atmosphere inside is great as well. Decor is beautiful. Had the calamari appetizer. Delicious with a couple nice twists. It comes with some chourice mixed in and is topped with a great cilantro aioli. For a main dish I had swordfish, cooked perfectly and topped with a tomato, basil, feta bruschetta. Really good. My husband enjoyed his chowder and steak tips as well. Definitely recommend Trafford for a fun, romantic date night or some drinks and appetizers with friends. Looking forward to going back again soon!

I have eaten at Trafford on a number of occasions over the last 10 months and have had a consistently wonderful experience each time. The daily specials are always tempting -- especially the seafood and barbecue items. Recently I was treated to the crab salad melt -- on an earlier visit I had the pulled pork: both were excellent. The food is always fresh, well-prepared and creatively presented. The decor has a great, nautical feel that's a nice match for the waterfront location.

Location is perfect- beautiful views from almost any table or at the bar. Service was very good and their fries were awesome. Clam chowder was tasty and not too thick, but a little low on clams. The biggest disappointment was the crab melt special. The crab was mixed with mayo and was soggy- we were in a hurry so I didn't complain, but it was not worth the $12 lunch price. Will return when in the area and give it a second try...

Well, there is a lot to say about Trafford. The atmosphere in Trafford is outstanding. It is comfortable and bright. The service is amazing, and it is okay for mature/older children. If your children are younger and they cry or are loud, please don't bring them. Just for the sake of other guests at this marvelous restaurant . Trafford is very fancy so you must dress appropriately. Now its time for the food. There is not a huge selection but everything is delicious. They have everything on the menu labeled air, water, and land (bird, seafood, and meat).Which i thought was very creative.

sooooooo did you know that hotcakes are pancakes? haha their blueberry pancakes were not all that fabulous. but their breakfast hash of the day was quite tasty! teeny squares of potatoes, with three kinds of sausage (including chorizo and two others) was that hash of the day. came with two eggs (i ordered them over medium, was cooked PERFECTLY) and the buttered sourdough toast was a perfect complement!!!! venue is nice and it is definitely a solid place to get breakfast! service was a little shy-slow-sweet but thoughtful when she was actually around. will try again!!!

I'm not sure what all the negative posts are about. This a brand new resturant that I have been to over 5 times now as I work in the area. The views are outstanding, the food is decent and great prices. Sure there are some things that need to be worked out. But this is a great addition to the area. My server Heath is so memorable that he is enough to make me keep coming back.

Five star view and atmosphere with two star food. Beautiful new restaurant on the Warren waterfront. Decor is elegant and understated. Food looks great but lacks flavor. Still working out the kinks of slow service. With a little work, this could be my favorite new restaurant.

I'm giving this place two stars in hopes of getting the owner's attention. This place has such great potential as the location and decor can't be beat. The food and service, however, need some serious work as this place feels like amateur hour. Let me explain. We went on one of the first warm nights of the season. There was a wait so we sat at the bar. We ordered a glass of champagne (it was our anniversary) and the bartender served it in a wine glass. There was a lot of immature gossip going on at the server station that we could overhear - not cool...I've worked in restaurants; save that crap for the kitchen where the customers can't hear you complaining about them. We then ordered a 1/2 order mussels frites. When the mussels arrived they had no frites. We were told the 1/2 order doesn't come with fries (the menu didn't say this). She recommended bread to dunk in the broth. We waited and waited...finished our mussels and had to ask again for the bread, which came a good ten minutes after her recommendation. The bar quickly crowded and she was quickly in the weeds. It was clear she had no experience in managing a busy bar so why was she working the bar alone on a Saturday night? Our table was ready and it took a good 5 minutes for our server to arrive; too long in my opinion, esp. when the restaurant is no longer that crowded. When we asked about their zinfandel selection she mentioned Sutter Home white zin. I don't mean to be a wine snob but if you're going to feature yourself as a restaurant with great wines, please educate your servers that zinfandel is not pink. We did have an excellent wine that she said was the owner's favorite (Liberty Cab - highly recommend) then ordered the grilled vegetable antipasto - delicious. For our entrees i ordered the scallops, which were served with cheese grits served in a little pot on the side. It all tasted good but not memorable and i wished the grits were served under or next to the scallops so they could soak up the rest of the sauce. My husband ordered the lamb chops, medium rare. This is where they earned their two stars. The lamb was raw near the bone; he sent it back (something he never does). She came back and they were cooked more on the outside (charred) but still raw on the inside. They were inedible. He declinded another shot as his appetite was sort of ruined after biting into a hunk of raw meat. The server was mildly apologetic but not very...at no point did a manager come by to apologize, offer us a free dessert or glass of wine. Mistakes happen in restaurants but it's the way those mistakes are handled that matters. I would have left there feeling more positive if we'd been treated a little better...but we weren't. The whole experience just felt young; not at all what it should be when you're paying that kind of money for dinner. I hope the owners read this and make the necessary changes because the place really does have potential. But right now, even that view isn't enough to get me to go back. bummer...

Sat on the deck overlooking the water for lunch. My fish in the haddock sandwich was lovely, flakey and moist and very fresh. My husband had the panko encrusted chicken salad and he cleaned the plate. Good peppery French fries. The Louis Latour "Ardeche" white wine very well matched to the haddock and summery day.

My husband & I had wanted to go to the beach for a walk and a drink, but the clouds rolled in and it was just a little too chilly and breezy for the beach, instead we decided to try this place for a very late lunch/ early dinner. It turned out to be a perfect choice. I can't rate the food really as we had pretty simple fare, though I can say the French fries were among the best we've ever had. My husband had one of their fancier cocktails. It was beautiful and delicious, so he had another. I had a salad which was fresh and delicious, with plenty left to bring home. The only negative was a large television turned to Fox "News". Luckily, the view was so pretty that it was easy to ignore the t.v. All in all, a nice respite from city life.

A great addition to the Warren waterfront. There are still a few kinks to work out, but it's only been open a few weeks, give them a bit of a break! The locale can't be beat and the new building is excellent. It's a major improvement over the old warehouse that I think used to be there. The bar is probably going to be one of the main attractions. We had red and white sangria, very good and not overly sweet, and then a mojito which actually had sugar cane in it, which I've never seen outside of Barbados. Drink prices were NOT totally outrageous, which makes a nice change. The food is excellent, flavorful and plentiful. They even had Bersuppa, Aka blueberry soup, an old Swedish standby that I have NEVER EVER seen in a restaurant in this country, but the perfect appetizer for a hot summer's day. Definitely thinking outside the box and pulling on lots of different culinary traditions. I had the lobster fritters, which were excellent and then a perfectly acceptable steak with mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. My mom had the bersuppa and then veal piccata. All meats are sustainably sourced and free range, etc. Veggies are local. The portions were ENORMOUS! And everything was tasty, done just as we asked and generally perfectly nice. To finish off we had flourless chocolate cake and coffee creme brulee, which was the only real disappointment. It was just too sweet for my tastes. The prices are actually not that bad. A filet mignon was only $27, which is reasonable in my book. And the appetizers where mostly under $10, which is about right for me. The staff was a little shaky but very friendly and I'm sure they'll get all their little kinks ironed out. We had to wait a little while at the bar and the food didn't arrive all that quickly. However when it did get to us it was piping hot and yummy, so I'll forgive them. The only really big issues with Trafford are layout problems. The outside bar and even the inside are very very noisy, simply because it's all hard surfaces and there's nothing to absorb the noise. All they really need are some curtains and it'll be fine. The other big problem is that about half of the bar stools are totally inaccessible!! The way they have one of the tables placed, you pretty much can't squeeze past the backs of the people at the table in order to reach the other half of the bar! Ooops! Overall though, I think this place is great and I'd go there again in a heartbeat. Well done Trafford, I hope you stay in Warren for a long long time.

We were excited by the prospect of a new upscale restaurant in the area, but skeptical because of some of the reviews here. Fortunately we tried it last night anyway. This is actually my first post here (though I read it often) and I was motivated to write because our experience was so good and contradictory to some of the others. Perhaps they will get more consistent as they're in business longer. Let's start with the locale and decor. As others have mentioned, the views are tremendous (we were there at sunset and it was just gorgeous). The style of the restaurant is very crisp and modern. They had some nice touches such as modified sails behind the outdoor bar and adorable succulents on the tables. We ate dinner at the bar and the service was excellent--efficient and friendly. I had the St Germain martini from the cocktail menu and my husband had a beer. My martini became my instant favorite summer drink! Definitely give this a shot, if you like citrus flavor. As to the food--it was as good as the view. We split a crab cake for an app and loved the flavor and sauce. For an entree I went with lobster bolo and it was delish! In fairness, I never met a lobster salad sandwich I DIDN'T like! My husband had the brioche chicken, which was tender and light. We didn't have room for dessert, but maybe next time I can resist pigging out on my lobster and fries. Maybe...

Great location on the water Too noisy & very slow service. Food is OK but can't overcome the negatives.

This place is great! My husband and I tried it last night with a Living Social deal, and we are thrilled to have found our new favorite restaurant! We made a reservation, and arrived early to have a drink at the bar, which is upstairs and offers a view of the spacious upstairs dining area - very open, bright, and windows that look out onto the bay. We sat for dinner at a wonderful corner table right by a window around sunset, what a view! The drinks were wonderful, fresh warm rolls and oil come first, and the food variety is great too, all very unique and fresh. We started with clam chowder and stuffed quahogs, both of which were very delicious and different than any other we've had. For our main dishes, we tried the pecan crusted salmon and cod with lobster crumbs, so good, probably the best fish dish I have had, and I grew up eating New England seafood. Came with green beans and roasted potatoes, big portions, too. The waitstaff was super helpful and friendly, and the food was priced well for the value and taste you get. We will definetely be coming back here, I bought another Living Social as soon as we left!

Great location with super sunsets on the water. Makes sense to make a reservation for best tables. Weather permitting - outside dining here is wonderful although it may be getting a little chilly. Wonderful apps to include stuffed quahogs as well as roasted veggie plate.

Traf Ford is a little hidden gem. My husband and I are fans of the Clam Shack right down the street but noticed it's becoming a little more popular than we had hoped. It was a Sunday afternoon, sun was shining, perfect temperature but the Clam Shack was mobbed. So we decided to pop into Traf Ford and to our surprise, we could get a spectacular little table overlooking the water for 2! The ambience on a nice summer afternoon doesn't get any better, but I do agree, the tables and chairs either need to be a little higher or the deck needs to be lower. I am not tall so I could barely see over the deck which kind of stunk because the views are beautiful. We started with the lobster and corn fritters and they were really good (definitely would try other apps next time, they all sounded so good). I had the fish and chips which were pretty decent, the fries and coleslaw were yummy and the batter on the haddock was perfect. My husband had the haddock sandwich and loved it. He opted for the healthy route and declined the fries and got mixed greens which he thought were delicious due to the freshness. We both had a couple cocktails which I quickly fell in love with a dark and stormy. Our experience was very pleasant despite that wasn't part of our original plan. I will definitely be going back and highly recommend you do as well!

Excellent restaurant. The mussels were the best I have had in a long time. I also enjoyed the goat cheese, mushroom and asparagus tart appetizer. My friend had the ahi tuna and the roasted vegetables and loved them. Service was fine, except that the waitress cleared my friend's plate while I was still eating...a pet peeve of mine. The restaurant is attractive with a waterfront view. We sat on the patio and were surprised at the chair to table ratio. Either the chairs were too low or the table too high. I felt like I was eating almost above my head. The last two comments are nit-picking. This is a wonderful spot and I will go back ASAP.

Food is good, I wouldn't say its the best I've but its good....Fresh oysters, were some of the best I've had.... Service needs to be worked on though...if they told me they were out of one more thing I ask for on the menu...I was going to walk out...how can you be out of so many items on your menu on a Sunday??
(3)Sweetdreams S.
I came here for lunch on my birthday, a Tuesday afternoon. The place was packed, luckily we were able to be seated outside. The view was lovely, our waitress was quite friendly, informative and very hospitable. The food was alright, but definitely overpriced. The chowder was good, could have been hotter. The lobster bolo was tasty, however I felt nauseous a few hours later (not sure about food sickness, read previous reviews and it seems to be a common theme). The mixed green salad had a beautiful presentation and all the vegetables were fresh! The environment was hip and relaxed. The experience was nice, I would return again with caution.

good food nice location. I greatly enjoyed the mussel dish and also the retro style decor. Ill probably come back once im in the area again, and reccomend it to friends!

I met up with a few friends from college who had grown up in Warren. One of the girls recently tried Trafford's and loved this spot & chose it for the group venue. It could not have been a better choice! The decor was lovely- beautiful wooden tables, lovely candle votives, white washed walls, large windows to take advantage of the expansive water views. The overall effect of the decor was an elegant, comfy, hip, beachy feel with an understated nautical theme throughout the restaurant. Bar was gorgeous: panoramic views of the bay! Menu offerings were traditional new england fare/ comfort food (as expected, decent selection of seafood) with a fine-dining twist. While the menu was not large, it had a wide enough range of selections to accommodate most patrons. The food was sooo tasty with generous portions. The ingredients were fresh and time and thought was put into both the menu selections and food preparation. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly but not overbearing and seemed sincere. The only slight drawbacks: service was a little on the slower side but it was a Friday night so somewhat expected. Entrees were a little pricier than expected - $11 for arancini appetizer, $9 merci beaucoup mixed drink and $15 fish & chip entree. Meal -arancini app, fish & chips & 2 drinks -came to $50/ person as we all got similarly priced food. I would have loved to try the dessert but didn't want to put a bigger dent in my wallet. Fab interior, pleasant staff, tasty food & killer views will certainly bring me back but due to the higher prices, perhaps not as often as I would like!
