Went there for the 9.95 lobster special with my elderly parents. Sat down and realized there was only 1 waitress working and she was waiting on a party of 30. The owner - bartender came over to take our order, and she was wearing a food stained top. Well anyway the service was good, but the food was disappointing. My mom enjoyed her stuffed lobster, but my calamari and my dad's eggplan t was mediocre. With 2 glasses of wine, bill was over $70. Will not be returning ....

I've eaten here once. The entrees were so big that two people could easily split one. Also, the salad that came with the entree was large and good. The waitress, Jessica, was very good; indeed, she had the perfect balance of friendliness, attentiveness, responsiveness, and honesty, but without being solicitous. On the down side, the free bread wasn't good, and the flatwear they use is flimsy (my fork bent when I used it to hold down my chicken while I cut it). The decor is old and not very inventive, but I don't care about that. The chairs could be more comfortable. Entrees (with soup or salad and side dish) start at around $16, except for the pasta and sandwiches, which are cheaper. I'd like it if they took a dollar or two off and reduced the size of the entrees, but it's not a big complaint. The food, by the way, was quite tasty. The chicken with spinach that I got (I've forgotten the Italian name for that dish) didn't have quite enough spinach, and it was swimming in cream sauce. There was probably too much cream sauce, but it tasted good, so I used it on my rice and vegetable side dish. This is a family-type place, not an upscale gourmet place. If you are super-picky, you'll probably find something to criticize, but I was satisfied. Apparently, the restaurant is past its glory days, and the founding owner recently died, but the food is still good.

Decent food the portions will not disappoint but the quality might not be on par all the time. Bartenders are the same as they always have been and good service is something they take pride in. Come here for local gossip and a good RI accent, they do well for a place putting little effort in their appearance they keep it old style and done right.

OMG! The owner/bartender is the worst around!! The martini I ordered was watered down, all juice! She is extremely unfriendly and miserable. The food was ok but it took forever!!! Will not go back! Over the 35 + years we have been going, we have never seen it so bad! it has gotten progressively worse! It is too bad that they are losing good customers!! Jacks restaurant desperately needs to bring back Victor before they sink!

Jack's is a great place to get comfort food: pasta by the pound and wonderful Portuguese food. The Shrimp Mozambique is the best!!!

Pleasantly surprised by the service (super friendly) and the buffalo wings. The house-made Italian was also good and the yummy bread with herbed oil, parmesan and red pepper flakes was a much appreciated extra touch. Pasta was a little too old-world for me but everything else was great!

A NIGHTMARE..!! The food is horrendous along with the owner bartender.. Frozen food, steal rolls, dirty tables and silverware need I say more? Eat at your own risk.!

I went there once with my parents. My father had Portuguese soup and found a piece of metal such as one from the sos pads. My chicken tenders were like warm and seemed undercooked or even frozen and my Mothers codfish was swimming in grease. Completely bad food quality even though the waitress Jessica was the best. Not sure if she is still there! Maria doesn't value her workers nor her job. When Jessica leaves this job the whole place will go down

I love Jacks I have been coming here for years! We always start out with the antipasto then smelts and a pound of the red special! Sometimes we will get the little necks and/or steamers both are fabulous! I can't say if I care how expensive it maybe be or who is friendly the food is great! I now live in Texas and twice a year when I come home I always go to Jacks!

I stopped in on July 8, 2015 with my 4 kids. We are not from the area so I stumbled up Jacks by chance...I am glad we did. The service was super friendly and the place had a down home feel. Nothing fancy, just good food and excellent staff. I had the Little Neck clams as an appetizer, while the kids had NE Clam Chowder. The clams were fresh and the kids loved the soup. House salad was very fresh. The kids had burgers, I won't comment on them because I was here for seafood and could care less whether or not the burgers were good, frozen, or fresh. For my entree I asked for the baked cod, but wanted it cooked with minimal additives (eating light so did not want any oil/butter added). the chef used chicken stock and lemon juice (thanks!) and it was excellent. Steamed broccoli on the side...also well done. If I am ever back in the area I will certainly go back...and next time I will try some of the fried foods!!!

The dining room of these restaurant offers a cozy home away from home feeling, despite service being slow at the beginning the experience turned out to be quite a positive one. They offer a very plentiful menu to choose. Their soup of the day which happened to be chicken, was hot and clearly made fresh. The rolls were a bit on the cold side I attribute this to perhaps the lack of a bread warmer. Their entree which for me was the Tilapia Piccata was cooked to perfection and with just the right amount garnish however the lemon butter was a bit overpowering be prepared to pucker up. They were unfortunately out of desserts due to Sysco not delivering until the next day. However, overall all I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I have lived in warren my entire life and only frequented Jacks once about 20 years ago. My husband and I decided to take some extended family on Saturday because I have always heard the seafood was awesome. Not caring for seafood myself i was unsure about the menu. I couldn't be more wrong. I had chicken francaise which was delicious, tender and a double serving in my mind. The entire family was pleased. If you are Italian like me, you will love The gravy on the pasta. Muah!!!

Absolutely amazing seafood pasta! Fried calamari is soooooo good. I drove 750 miles today just to eat here. Mmmmm I mean seriously folks the absolute best calamari on the planet Earth and I've had calamari on several continents, and all across these great United States, plus they have an amazing seafood pasta that is not to be duplicated, believe me I've tried. Absolutely a must anytime you're anywhere near Rhode Island you have to go to Warren and stop at Jack's. The fried clams and all apps alone are worth the trip, and any of the Portuguese dishes will stand up to Portuguese fair anywhere, So, Italian, Portuguese, fresh fish, it's all there and more.

Sorry Jack's...three different dishes. Burger, pasta, shrimp -- three strikes. Can't remember a worse meal.

There's something that I love about Jack's. I find it hard to be impartial, as I feel like I practically grew up there. My favorites include: Portuguese soup, it's like my grandma used to make. Clam cakes, very underrated. Smelts, well done with the marinade sauce on the side. Fish n' chips, ask for the fish the old way (lightly floured, no thick batter). Sirloin with garlic and wine sauce, I can smell that sauce just thinking about it. Its simple but delicious. Baked fish b&b, classic New England style! And of course, the baked stuffed lobster with langostinos, when they are in stock I'll be in two days in a row for them during my visits. Living in Texas makes me nostalgic for Jack's and I can't wait to get back for more. See you in a year (hopefully sooner). Make sure to ask for Jess as a server or sit at the bar and shoot the breeze with Maria! Tell them George sent you in. You won't regret it.

Ordered food to-go (appetizers) and was told 30-45 minutes. Kids were behind bar playing around when we went to pick it up. When someone finally paid us attention, we were told a couple more minutes. It's 1 hour and 40 minutes later, just got our food, and they didn't apologize or even take a soup off the bill.

In a single word, Jack's is awesome. Food excellent, beer cold, good service. Period.
