Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Ridiculous. That's what I thought after my first bite of of the Lemmy Pizza. Pizza nirvana in South County RI? Who knew? Charred, blistered but tender crust, wood-fired and local ingredients. Amazing. Ordered at the counter, got a draft beer (great selection), including $2 PBRs. The woman at the counter suggested the Lemmy. Great choice. Michael who made the pizza came over to make sure I was happy. After I told him how great the pizza was he told me the owner was from Brooklyn and was re-opening the Park Luncheonette which would have La Strada pizza soon. Now it makes sense, PBR and amazing pizza in RI? Nary a hipster beard in sight, but so, so worthy of Brooklyn. Oh and by the way, I've had Di Fara, Patsy's (Harlem), John's. Lombardi's et al. When La Strada opens in New York, Pete Wells will be there. I just wish they were open year round in RI.

Place is closed. The pics of the pizzas look nice. Don't venture out here because the place is closed. No signs of life at this business anymore.

We came here based on the 5-star Yelp Reviews... the pizza was absolutely delicious, preferred the wood fired margharita pizza,, I do think the size of the pizza is pretty small, I would say it was more of a personal-size pizza, so the price for the pizza might have been more than it should've been. Also, I know they are focused on pizza, but I would recommend having something in addition to pizza on the menu, to go along with the pizza... When advertising as a cafe and pizzeria, it might be expected... However, regardless, it still was one of the best thin crust margherita pizzas I've had. Very fresh tasting!!!

My last dining experience here was wonderful. I was here with my three granddaughters and the owner made us feel very special. She put on a record for the girls, danced with them, and was very hospitable to our large party (10 people). Both the wood fired pizza and the gas oven pizza were fabulous. I had a multiple margarita pizzas(wood fired ) , veggie special (wood fired), and they gave us a sausage pizza to eat while we,we're waiting for our large order of pizzas!!! (On the house !) All and all another excellent experience at La Strada! In addition to the delicious pizza it would be nice to round out the menu with a few different salad choices.

I love what they're doing here. The owners are making some of the best pizza in the state, which is no surprise considering that the guy (I read his name in some article and can't remember it) that is co-owner is the son of the original owner of Fellini's in Providence. That right there tells any true pizza lovers a lot. We got take out the first time we tried La Strada, and I was really impressed. This is thin-crust pizza at its finest. The toppings are all locally sourced (nice!), fresh and delicious. But for me, it's all about the crust - it's crispy, flavorful, perfect! The second time, I took my wife and the surly teen pain in the ass that is my son. Surprisingly, he showed signs of life, even enthusiasm about our pizza. Usually going anywhere with him lately is like taking a zombie t to dinner - you get some grunts and moans and weird facial expressions. Not here - happy child mauwin' down slices like there's no tomorrow. And real frigging Coca Cola with real sugar - Viva Mexico! There are only a couple things that stopped me from going a full 5 star on this - they can only do the little pizzas in the wood oven. I'm hoping that with all the love from hungry South County-ers they'll be able to get a grande wood oven soon. The other thing is that they are waaaaaaaay out of the way. Now you'd be smart to plan a pizza fest here first and then follow it with the rest of the night at the Ocean Mist or Tara's Joyce Family pub, both of which are right across the street. La Strada does serve beer and wine, good beers at that! And they have a real old-school record player, you know the kind that plays the real shit; vinyl. There's a bunch of cool records too, and next time I go I'm not leaving till they throw on the Motorhead album.

Love this place but seems not to be open this year. Am I wrong?

I was skeptical, but the pizza was great. We had a pesto pie with spinach and yellow tomatoes. One tip: their pesto pie has tomato sauce, with the pesto dolloped on. That was OK by us, but I know some people would expect a green pie if they ordered pesto. Their crust was thin and crunchy, and there was an appropriate amount of cheese--a thin covering, not a suffocating blanket. It wasn't my favorite pizza ever, but it was very very good, and was much better than other pizza I've had in the area.

Pure joy! Adorable little place with the bet pizza we ever had. Tried 4 different wood fired, but the best was the carmelized onion/ricotta cheese. The owner came around and she is a joy! Hires the best people to work there too!

OMG! After my first bite, okay maybe two, I got up from our outside table and ran in to tell the kitchen staff that they had something very special here! Frame of reference: I grew up in Brooklyn, NY. Di Fara's Pizza (now world famous) was my neighborhood pizza shop. Wood grilled, thin crust pizza, couldn't be any better. One made with Narragansett Ricotta instead of Mozzarella was the best of two that we tried. Worth the ride FROM ANYWHERE! SCREAMING FIVE STARS!

Fabulous pizza-we have been here three times so far this season-just discovered them last month. We have enjoyed the wood fired pizza and the pizza cooked inside when the oven outside was not ready-every time it has been GREAT. Give the Party Bus a try-you will not be disappointed!! The staff is fabulous and the owner is wonderful and welcoming. She told us today that she will be opening a place in Brooklyn -we wish her well and look forward to them re-opening here in RI next Labor Day weekend. They are opened until Sept 15th this year so if you get a chance to get by there before next Sunday so so-it is worth the trip!

My friend and I are New Yorker's, therefore we are super critical of pizza. This pizza is comparable to some of my favorite spots in NYC. Everything is super fresh and many of the ingredients come from the nearby farm. Also, they have parking so makes it super easy to get in and get out if you are in a rush. Try the Jenn Rickey -- Lemonade and Merlot. It's so crazy, it works!

Grilled pizza was fantastic, beer was great (a handful of bottled craft beers and a few Newport storms on tap), and they have indoor and outdoor seating. Awesome! This is going to be a regular stop for me when down at the beach.

Stopped by for a quick bite to eat before a show at Theater by the Sea. I have to say, I was expecting something different from a place named "La Strada Cafe." The place has a very beachy, laid back vibe. Seating available inside or outside, order at the counter and they will bring your food to you. They had a large variety of specialty pizzas. My friend and I decided to split a salad and a pizza. The arugula salad was tasty but sort of small for six dollars. The pizza was tasty as well, I especially liked the sweet crust. We both had specialty cocktails that were quite good too. The best part of our experience was the service. Everyone was so friendly and we were asked by numerous people if we had enjoyed ourselves. It seemed that they actually really cared too. I would definitely stop by for a pizza if I were in the area again.

Cut my teeth on NY pizza. La Strada is the real deal. (Staff and restaurant remind me of Brooklyn.) Thin chewy crust, lightly topped with the freshest (locally farmed) ingredients. Sublime!

They have amazing wood fired pizza, Berkshire steel rail ale, and they spin killer tunes. Frankly, I have a better time going here to pick up a pizza, having a beer and checking out their record collection while waiting than I do when I go to that big club/bar the street.

The wood oven pizza here is great. We have had about all of the specialty pizzas. Take out orders have always been on time and correct.

Arugula pizza with wonderful crust and lovely goat milk Romano. Yum.
(5)Lola G.
La Strada is one of our favorite pizza places! The pizzas use only fresh ingredients and almost everything is local. They offer beer and wine and the service is always friendly. Just wish I could remember the hours, they seem to change often.

Crust is thin and properly cooked, HOWEVER as far as i'm concerned the sauce makes the pizza. the marinara here is not great. does not taste homemade, actually tasted like an aluminum can.... therefore all of the white pizza is fantastic! interesting flavor combinations pretty creative, but you cannot make great pizza with terrible red sauce.

Interesting and excellent pizza. Great beers. The owner is present and it shows. You will not find better pizza near the beaches.

love it. totally casual and GREAT pizza.

Update: Had dinner at La Strada last night and as always, it was exceptional. We had the special: pizza topped with local potatoes, local leeks and local cheese with Rosemary. Perfection with a Berkshire to wash it down. Nick, Jenny, Saya and the whole friendly staff are "Pizza Geniuses."
(5)Barry R.
Found this place when the Ocean Mist across the street was too full, what a lucky break. The tattooed owner-girl gave us an entertaining overview of how to order, we sat outside next to the mobile wood-fired oven enjoying a nice blueberry shandy from the craft beer and wine list while our pizzas were made before us. Awesome pizzas and salads, all local ingredients, veggie friendly, good music (vinyl!) on the DJ turntable. For fresh food this place rules.

This is some of the best pizza I've ever had. I am visiting New England from OR and this is the one place I wanted to make sure I had the chance to eat at while here. I have friends that rave about the place and everything I've heard is true. The pizza is delicious. The beer and wine options are fantastic. The service is also amazing! I didn't catch the owners' names but they are super kind and fun. You won't be dissappointed if you eat here. Do it!
(5)Sara S.
Awesome pizza! awesome service! We tried La Strada last summer and loved it and revisited just this weekend. The Carpenter pizza is delicious, as well as the arugala salad. The beer and wine selection is great too! I can't say enough nice things about La Strada!

If you like thin crust wood fired grilled pizza on your day at the beach, this is the place for you. A friend and I had a wood fired pizza called Moonshine, covered in caramelized onions feta cheese sun dried tomatoes & garlic, we made short work of this. Did I mention that this wonderfully crispy thin crust was cooked right in front of us as we sat on the outdoor porch? In a beautiful copper clad round woodfired oven and that it arrived in about 5 minutes as we sipped our new to us drinks, I had a wonderful bottled ice tea, forget the name, something like Grandmas or Nana's. My friend had a coffee espresso soda, really different and we liked it so much we each got one for later on. This place a great addition to the food choices at Matunuck, plus if you are staying nearby they do deliver and they also offer a large pizza that is baked indoors in a regular gas fired pizza oven. The wait staff were really pleasant and chatty, as you can tell, we both really liked it here, will be stopping in again.

We stumbled upon this place last summer while we were out driving around exploring the area. The pizza is by far the best you can get in the area. The crust is amazing and they use as much local product as possible- I love that. The owners have been there every time we've gone and Nick personally thanks every guest as they are leaving- its a nice touch. We love them so much we hired them to cater our company party this spring and our employees are still raving!!! I can't say enough - I just think the place is a true gem and I'm sooo glad we found them!
