On vacation in Tiverton, and this place was listed as right nearby for sandwiches. Wasn't sure how it would be for dinner. It was great. Charming little place with a beautiful view. The gals who took our order were friendly and accommodating. We could not believe how big the menu was, so it was hard to choose. We salivated over the wonderful baked goods at the counter where you order, but did not try them. The sliders - we had one burger and 2 caprese were out of this world, especially being served on soft potato rolls. My summer salad was yummy, the tuna tacos were great, having been made with chunks of seared fish, and the Sonoma sandwich was healthy and perfectly made. The multiple coffee variations, especially the peanut butter version were delicious. Whenever I'm in Tiverton, I will absolutely come here daily.

Cool little spot with great food and a nice little patio. Always friendly, and a pretty good selection of beer for a little sandwich spot! Definitely reccomend, andt he Buffalo pasta salad is great!

Amazing french dip panini!

I would love to give the Black Goose 4 stars, because the food is really really good. Desserts are delicious, awesome breakfast (French toast soufflé! OMG), good coffee... BUT the service is consistently horrendous. The counter help borders on unpleasant, with zero customer service skills. The last time I was there they forgot to make my coffee and had a disagreement with the customers both in front of me and behind me. That seems par for the course every time I go. They're generally only high school/college kids, but I don't think the excuses them from being able to conduct moderately cheerful and efficient business. Food- 4. Service- 1.

So good. Great place to sit outside. Ordered caprese sandwich then salad on a second visit with homemade pesto. Yum. But it's all about the key lime. Excellent dessert to share. Just divine. Will go back for it!

One word. DELISH! After driving by this place literally hundreds of times for the past few years, I finally stopped in last week. Intended to order healthy but when I saw the moussaka, I couldn't resist. It was absolutely delicious! They have a variety of Greek foods, interesting sandwich combinations and a large variety of desserts. Great location, fresh food, reasonable prices and friendly service. I can not wait to return.

Very good food. Everything I have had there from panini's to breakfast sandwiches and deserts have been better than expected. Never has it been busy although they only have a small parking area. It is a little on the pricey side but the food makes up for it, especially the yogurt concoctions they create with Greek yogurt, fruit, oats,...find out the rest for yourself. For your kayakers and divers that drop in off Sakonnet point its a good start to that drive down main rd.

Pretty great sandwich place with views of the water and the bonus of outdoor seating. They also have wifi, so you can find people working from here during the day. My favorite part? Their bomb ass pasta salad that comes with the sandwiches. It's a little spicy and a lot awesome. The sandwiches are good, and can easily compared to the flavor of Panera Bread with just a touch of homemade goodness. Salads also taste similar. The Lighthouse tuna panini is fantastic. Recently got a turkey sandwich and it was overwhelmed by mayo, so "light on the mayo" would be a good phrase to include in your order. They have all kinds of tasty looking desserts. The French toast soufflé is something special. Great place for lunch and I'm sure the breakfast is just as good.

Great sandwiches and salads. We love the pasta salad especially. The atmosphere is homey and the service is personable. We loved everything we tasted, from the chicken salad to the Parisian panini!
(4)Lawrie M.
I really like it here for multiple reasons. It's got a beautiful view, outdoor seating, a creative menu, staff is friendly and a nice atmosphere. I got a Greek salad and tuna. The salad was not as crisp as it should be, not as much on it as there should be. The tuna was light and fresh. That is super considering most places use far too much mayo. I am definitely going back to try some of there other items. Have an average experience isn't going to stop me.
(3)Colin M.
This place is great. They have really got their act together.. It's consistent, the food is great, what else? The pizza is outrageous.
(5)Rebecca T.
The food was fair, but I didn't see what all the yelp fuss was about. Sorry... just a basic sandwich shop.
(2)Alexandria P.
Smoked salmon wrap is a must. So refreshing with the perfect amount of cream cheese and capers. I also ordered a peanut butter cup iced latte, I love to try out new flavors, but there was actual globs of peanut butter at the bottom of my cup. I found it a little disconcerting. Seating isn't very big, so you may need to be prepared to wait during busy times!
(4)Bev B.
Everything homemade and delicious! Had the Roast Beef wrap, potato salad, and Key Lime Pie! Unbelievable. So many homemade items. Must try for yourself!
(5)Emily W.
Delicious crab cake sliders on the specials menu. Next time, will definitely try the crab cake salad. Cute little place by the water. Everything was made to order so it is very fresh. I'd come back for sure.

I love this place SO much. I come here constantly with my boyfriend and friends over the past four years. I've tried just about everything here- soups, salads, the greek tapas plate, desserts, daiquiris, mixed drinks, lattes, cold sandwiches, paninis, etc. If I'm being honest... I've never had anything I didn't like a lot. The Bat Outta Hell, The Parisian, The Sonoma, and anything with roast beef is flipping perfect. Check the specials board for sure. Also, the buffalo pasta salad is crazy. I don't even like pasta salad per se but every time I come in here it's truly difficult to resist buying a quart of it. Seriously cannot recommend enough. Also- dog friendly, gorgeous water views, nice outdoor dining patio, super nice staff. Such a great place.
(5)Jeff M.
I have to say, that I was expecting a much different place. This here is a sandwich shop, and a just OK one at that. The counter staff brusque and distracted. Seating is limited, cramped, and uncomfortable. The whole thing feels dashed together in a haphazard fashion. All of this, easily overlooked at a casual eatery if the food is really good, but it wasn't. My fresh seared Tuna Tacos, a few mid-grade slices of lightly seared tuna with lettuce, corn, and a mild buttermilk dressing, served in a dry, supermarket flour tortilla. Not impressed.

Black Goose is the "goto" baker of all things apple pie. That alone is 5 stars. But they also have many other delicious baked goods that I can't eat now cuz I'm dieting. What I can eat is from their uncanny healthy menu options including Greek and Italian. Wraps. Soups. It's awesome with an atmosphere reminiscent of small town New England. Sitting on the lanai has great views of the water with shade and a nice breeze.
(5)Brandon G.
Et tu brute.. Don't try to pronounce it perfectly if it's your first time, just order it. Good luck stepping passed all the pizza, the cakes, and pies on the way to your table. Everything is delicious. Tiverton's best lunch spot
(5)Sarah R.
Although this place has a nice view and decent food, the customer service is abysmal. We came for a leisurely morning coffee. When it got close to lunch time were asked to leave since it was close to the "lunch rush". We had been planning to stay for lunch, but since we now felt like second class citizens, we left. I will find somewhere else to spend my money thank you.
(1)Kathy C.
Met a friend for lunch here yesterday. I've always enjoyed The Black Goose, and we enjoyed our food yesterday too. I have to comment though: EVERYTHING we touched was greasy or sticky. The table, the menus, the condiments- come on guys, I know you can do better than this.
(3)Lucy R.
The sandwiches are great. The tacos AMAZING. The desserts yummy. The coffees are fun and interesting. The soups are wonderful. The staff is very nice. Try it. It's a good little place to eat. A good "rule of thumb" here-if the parking lot is full then it's likely the restaurant is full as well. The place isn't that huge, it's cozy, and clean, and anywhere you sit you will have a great view. Sadly, I have not had their breakfast YET. Also, if you go to this little Tiverton gem, think "Smores Bar" ---- really good dessert.
(5)Carol W.
Driving through Tiverton today, and stopped at the Black Goose for lunch. We ordered the lighthouse panini (tuna), the salmon tacos, and the sonoma sandwich (turkey, avo, bacon). And they made a grilled cheese for my niece even though it wasn't on the menu. We all really enjoyed our lunch... The tuna panini was my favorite. so delicious, not too much mayo, and the bread was amazing. We also ordered a bunch of desserts to go. The lemon blueberry bar was delicious -- it was fresh and the blueberries were juicy. The place is pretty small, with a small parking lot, too. Not a great place for a big group, but you can order to go. A great place to stop for a quick lunch. Also a pretty view of the water!
(4)Shannon S.
I wanted to stay here all day.. Free wifi! It was so cozy and warm inside, decorated with fall and autumn colors and smelled like cinnamon and spices. They have an outdoor and indoor seating area with lovely views of water and bridge. They have so many coffee and tea options along with sandwiches and salads. I just ordered a pumpkin latte with soy milk and it was so yummy.. I can't wait to go back and try the food.
(5)Joe E.
One of the nicest venues to visit, relax and take in the scenery as you eat. Excellent sandwiches, service and an overall very-enjoyable experience.
(5)Katie G.
Always a great place to get a sandwich and non alcohol café kind of drinks! Very small and has a pretty view especially on their outside deck. Usually quit and so easy to get to
(5)Nikki I.
I have been back a few times since my first review and it just keeps getting better and better! They have an extensive fall menu with LOTS of pumpkin and apple items to taste. The pumpkin soup, thanksgiving sandwich and Parisian panini are our favorites! The apple pear pie is a must try too!
(5)Andrew N.
I ordered the gobbler, an amazing sandwich that is thanksgiving dinner between two pieces of bread. The menu had so many great options it was hard to pick just one thing to get. I will definitely be returning. Prices were reasonable. We sat out on the deck and had a great view of the water. I would recommend this cafe to anyone looking for a tasty lunch or dinner option!
(5)Dennis W.
The four of us popped in while doing a vineyard tour of the area. The fresh sandwiches and hot Todds were not disappointing on this cold day. Plus the view is fantastic for those of us that spend most of our time in the city. The Smoked Salmon and Chicken Cranberry wraps are highly recommended. The fact that it was an old gas station from the 30s just adds to it's charm. Very good for what it is. A non pretentious place to get a fast and fresh sandwich pair with a hot drink or cold beer.
(5)Corey T.
As solid as a mom & pop lunch place gets. Great food, location and service.
(5)Jordan T.
Roast beef wrap with horse radish was awesome!!!! Great setting overlooking the water and prices are reasonable!
(4)Mike P.
A great sandwich place! Have been here several times for lunch in dinner, and have not had a bad meal yet. Most sandwiches come with a side of spicy pasta salad which is really good. They have seasonal and daily specialties, which are festive and delicious. They serve alcohol as well as have a mini bakery going on, so many muffins and baked goods. They have many specialty Greek plates and breakfast specials, but I have not tried any of those. They are very good, but a little pricy, you can quickly spend $20 here on one person if you get a meal, drink, chips, and a baked item.
(4)Barbara D.
It's great to have The Black Goose in the neighborhood. The food is awesome!!!! I'm so glad they are here :)
(5)Eric P.
Ah the goose, where an ugly duckling such as myself can flitter across Nannaquaket pond and glide into this fine establishment with a stretch of my wings. Majestic views of the water. With an old time secluded RI feel. Liquor license now which includes beer and wine, and as such, I tried the homemade sangria. It came with an umbrella. I felt a bit emasculated. Staff was great, just paying their way through prom from what I picked up in snippets of convo. Ordered my food (They said they can make anything you want too if you ask, not sure if this is a staple of this place, or because the look I gave her with my puppy dog brown eyes that hold a hint of mystery.) and then the food was literally at my table as I sat down. Quickest service I've seen. Almost as if they sized me up and predicted my order. Dessert cakes that were phenomenal were only 1.99, and they gave me an extra side of potato salad when I said how good it was, fo free! Made some convo with the other patrons and waitress. This place is a friendly gem on the water.
(5)Chris M.
Sill one of my favorite lunch spots! Great sandwiches that never disappoint.
(5)Nicole F.
My favorite place for sandwiches! I first went here several years ago at the recommendation of my hairstylist, who said that I absolutely had to try the Gobbler as a panini. She was right! So yummy. My mom and I end up here for lunch about once or twice a month. It's a great location with outdoor seating and views of the pond. The inside is bright and spacious, decorated with local art which can be purchased. There's a bulletin board with lots of flyers and business cards for local events, places, and people tacked up. The large bathroom is always clean. The menu has a lot of variety for a little cafe, with regular sandwiches, panini sandwiches, wrap sandwiches, pizza, salads, soups, hot dogs, and Greek fare. There's always several specials listed on the chalkboard as well. I've tried nearly everything and never had any complaints other than that the sandwiches are overstuffed and thus messy! You can get any sandwich as a panini, wrap, or regular sandwich even if it's not listed as such. Sometimes I get the Gobbler as a panini or a wrap. The sandwiches come with a pickle and the homemade pasta or potato salad which I don't eat but my mom raves over. I've tried almost everything, but my top picks are the Gobbler (turkey, stuffing, and cranberry), the Caprese (tomato, mozzarella, pesto), the spanakopita (spinach, ricotta, and phyllo dough...Greek spinach pie), and the chicken salad wrap (homemade chicken salad, green apple slices, and cranberries). It's all homemade and always fresh. The desserts at Black Goose are another favorite. They always have at least five different offerings, all homemade and all delicious. My favorite is the baklava, but the 7 layer coconut bar is also great. You'll definitely be full after a sandwich (or even half a sandwich) here, but you can't skip dessert here so take it home with you! Dessert portions are huge, whether it's cake, pie, cookie bars, baklava, or the giant cupcakes that could feed four hungry people. The drink menu here is just as expansive as the food menu. There's a cooler filled with sodas, sports drinks, bottled waters, juices, iced teas, and lemonades. Then there's the huge list of different flavored coffee drinks, both hot and iced. Plus, they have a liquor license and sell beer, wine, and homemade sangria. My standby is the the blueberry pomegranate tea smoothie with homemade whipped cream. The staff here is friendly and helpful. Prices are average for a cafe and they have a rewards card where you earn $5 off when you spend a certain amount ($100 maybe?). You can eat in or get your food to go, and you can call ahead to order. The only downside is the small parking lot...you might have to drive around the pond a few times before a spot opens up. However, the food is so good that you don't want to pass up on the Black Goose just because there isn't a parking spot your first time driving by! Pros: really good fresh homemade food, variety in menu, friendly staff, rewards card, free wifi, pretty setting (decor and views), local, clean, eat in or takeout, call ahead ordering, open for all 3 meals, pretty much everything about it Cons: not a lot of parking

Thanks to the cool lady at the Sakonnet Vineyard tasting room who suggested this place to me last year - now I require a Black Goose sandwich fix on the picturesque drive to Little Compton. For a Perfect Rhode Island Daytrip Trifecta - add a couple glorious hours on Goosewing Beach (or a walk through Weetamoo Woods) to food and wine and consider me recharged! Across the road from the cafe is a great view of Nannaquaket Pond, and Evelyn's Drive-In, "a RI must" ... well scratch that, I'm telling you that you MUST run from the overly greasetastic, overly priced, and overly long wait at Evelyn's and get your sandwich-lovin' keister to this spot instead. The list of yummy possibilities goes on-and-on - creative combos, homemade ingredients, and paired with a delish potato salad. Baked goods, pastries, pizza wink at you from the case - c'mon... you can make room. So close to 5 stars! I still haven't hit a great day for service... even when short staffed and overwhelmed, ya gotta take the first sec you can to glance up and say "I'll be with you in a minute". Even with a crowd, the food's been on point. Sandwich Heaven!

Black Goose Cafe is a small restaurant offering a variety of sandwiches, paninis, wraps, and a constantly changing baked goods case. They serve breakfast all day and have some specialty coffees and drinks too, plus the standard juices and sodas in a fridge that also has prepared food than you can purchase to eat at home. Prices are reasonable and the view of Nanaquaket Pond across the street is picturesque. I recommend this place for lunch above other area sandwich shops such as the Provender and Randy's Deli because of the value you get as well as the quality of the food. When I visited, I had one sandwich on special that was similar to a Monte Cristo and my boyfriend sampled the Bat Out of Hell panini. The sandwiches were served with a pickle slice that tasted home made plus a cup of potato salad, and we both got drinks out of the fridge to go with them. My sandwich was very delicious and had a nice balance between meat, cheese and sauces. My boyfriend's panini was a little heavy on the caramelized onions but he got a nice thick slice of meatloaf - they definitely don't skimp here! Afterwards, we took home a slice of chocolate chip cheesecake plus a 'smores bar. The cheesecake was good but nothing extremely special, but the 'smores bar was great. There were plenty of graham cracker crumbles and mini marshmallows on top of a thick layer of hardened chocolate. I recommend it if you're in the mood for something sweet. I would return here for a panini if I were in the mood, but out of the four times we've tried to eat here, three times the tiny parking lot was so crammed full of cars that we just passed it up. There parking lot can really only hold five or six cars and the cafe inside has limited seating as well. If you feel bold then you can park on the street but Main Road can be quite busy but I don't like the hassle of having to do so.

I happened upon this place when we were coming back from Newport. We didn't want the fried glop at Evelyn's but wanted the view of the water. We were pleasantly surprised to find a clean restaurant with a nice variety of options including beer, wine, mixed drinks and homemade sangria. My stuffed grape leaves were served warm and delicious with a side salad and taziki dressing and the girl at the counter made an off-menu pb&j for my kids. My husband's salad with chicken walnuts and strawberries was fresh and tasted good. They also had a delicious looking desert selection (key lime pie, chocolate mousse, cookies etc) but we were too full to eat any of it. And they have an espresso machine and from the looks of it a good breakfast menu. I wouldnt say its the best food ive ever eaten in my life but we'd definitely come back because was good and had a great low key atmosphere.
(4)John S.
Four of us went for lunch. We all had different sandwiches and some of us had soup and dessert. The prices were reasonable and the food was very good. An added plus is a great view of the pond across the street. Recommend.

We recently discovered this spot quaintly nestled on the main drag across from an idyllic New England cove in Tiverton, RI. We've been back a few times and each time we try something different...so far everything has been a winner. This cafe is perfect for any time of year; despite its small and cozy interior it's never super busy and it feels like a spot that would be good to linger for an hour or two over a coffee and a game of scrabble. Once you taste the food, you'll be as surprised as I was that it's never crowded. If it's your first trip there and you are ready for a MEAL. Try the Mama's Boy...they combine way too many delicious tastes into this dish. You might as well just look at the deserts, because there is no way that you;ll have room for them after the large meal portions. Definitely a great spot and highly recommended.

I've lived in Tiverton my entire life, I remember when this lot had an auto repair shop on it but yet have only been here twice before today and just for coffee. This was before they got their liquor license. Today the wife and I had the day off and decided to head over for a little lunch and drinks by the water. I can't believe we've just been driving by... the sandwiches here are delicious. I had the Sonoma which consists of turkey, avocado, bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayo on multi grain bread, this thing was GOOD! The side of macaroni salad and fresh pickle were the perfect compliment. My wife had an amazing looking and tasting Greek salad. For drinks we went with their Homemade Sangria and a Firefly Sweet Tea with Lemonade both were really good. They have a limited drink menu, beer and wine only. All in all this was an excellent afternoon, the service, food, drink and scenery here are definitely worth the stop especially on a nice sunny day. We will be going back here again that's for sure... I only hope I can bring myself to try one of their other sandwiches.
(4)Rachel H.
Nice location, tiny parking lot, expectedly white but surprisingly diverse crowds inside on a Sunday at 1pm. Terrible, careless seeming girl working at the counter. The menu is creative and delicious, with Greek influences and lots of choices. Wireless Internet code printed on the bottom of your receipt.

I would really like to see this business do well. The owners have worked very hard against unfair obstacles to get to where they are. I would make one recommendation to their food preparation style: tone it down a bit. You use lots of excellent and expensive ingredients in what you prepare But the result can be a bit overwhelming to some people. Try being a little more subtle. I understand that there is a Greek style to the preparation. But I've had Greek cuisine - in Greece - and I normally like it. I suspect you will get a lot more business if you can remember that most people are not used to the heavy taste of your food. My wife and I tried your food when you first opened and decided it wasn't for us and we hadn't been back since. So we tried you again the other day. I had the meatloaf sandwich. It was great for about 3 bites and then it overwhlelmed my pallet and I couldn't eat any more. Please either tone is down or offer more of a variety, with some dishes prepared as they currently are and others prepared a little more delicately. I wish you luck, I really do. P.S. We have not tried your breakfast meals yet or any of your desserts which look delicious.
