Watch out, Chili's. Your big mouth burgers are no match for the burgers at Rocco's! They're big, they're beefy, they're juicy, they're mean delicious machines! You can customize them any way you want and the fries are too good to pass up (wicked good Rocco style!). The service was awesome too! If you're in the area and want a good meal, definitely check this bad boy out. You won't be disappointed!

Rocco's ( roccospubandgrub.com ) is one of our all time favorite wing places, especially on Thursdays for 35 cent wings!! They have 50 flavors of wings and after trying ALL 50 flavors I have few favorites ! The Cowboy up - is a wonderful combination of BBQ sauce and Roccos Juice The Pacific Rim- is a Chinese style of flavoring with a light chili flavor Never have I received a wing that was too spicy, even the ones labeled with chilies are mild but bursting with flavors. If you need a Thursday place ... this is it! While this is our "WING" place, everything I have seen ordered looks phenomenal! The pizzas are piled high with topping and they have very unique specials that change weekly and sometimes daily. This is a small restaurant with BIG taste!! This is also a wonderful summer spot with out door seating. Be warned, when they say Garlic.... they mean GARLIC! They are not shy about their garlic usage, you will smell it and if you eat it you will smell of garlic for a day or so! Don't say you were not warned! hisandhersreviewspot.tum…

I have been here a couple times. I love trying different restaurants calamari and honestly the first time I had it there it was good and tender with great ingredients but the second time it was dry and chewy. I feel like any meal someone gets should be consistent. Other than that the service was friendly and rather quick.

Just moved into the neighborhood and am so glad that this little spot is so close. Lots of menu items to choose from. My fave is the BBQ burger. Quality ingredients and good portion sizes. The staff is friendly and they make suggestions if you're unsure of what to get. They make a really good Moscow Mule (my official drink for Summer 2014 lol) Its a small space in a small plaza on Douglas Pike. I hear it gets pretty packed later in the day but I have only gone before 5pm. I plan on returning many times.

This place is in a bit of a more remote area in Smithfield and is in a little (newer) strip mall type of area but I really liked the interior.. Cozy and perfect for a chilly winter beer. They have a vast beer selection and service is great! The food? Subpar. The great 35 cent wing deal was good with the BBQ wings which were tasty but the garlic Parmesan wings were not worth trying. Also - my gf and daughter both had pasta dishes and they oddly both tasted very fruity. The pasta literally tasted like strawberry pasta-- not to say it tasted bad but I've never tasted anything like it-- on the fence about it. The chipotle chicken wrap was also a mediocre and was missing some serious taste. Overall the experience was a good one though and the price point is reasonable so I'll be back sometime soon to give it another shot.

Very friendly neighborhood pub. Excellent burgers, they grind their own meat. Pizza surprisingly good also! They happily replace fries with salad or veggies if you ask.

Rocco's is a really cool place. Very cool decor, nice drink selection, and a quality array of beers. The food (that I didn't have) looked great, and the food that I did have was very tasty. My only improvements would be adding better beers, and removing some of the more standard, low ends. I'll definitely come back again when in the area.

If you go hear you must order the riblets, any sauce you want on them they are awesome. Truffle fries... Omg...incredible. Great food, cool hip atmosphere, service good and a nice pour on the mixed drinks. We got to meet the owner at our last visit, he greeted us and said hello, It's nice to see the ownership on site because you know everyone is working hard.

This place seems to have a bit of a personality disorder. The interior is very tacky. It looks like how a 12 yr old boy would chose to decorate his basement bedroom. Fake brick with graffiti.....very strange. It's very small inside and the music was blaring. I don't really mind loud music when it's good. But it was awful. One Direction (don't ask me how I know them), Miley Cirus, etc. I went on a Wednesday or Thursday night around 7 and the crowd was older adults. I could not figure out why they were blaring tween music. Very confusing and distracting when you're trying to eat and have a conversation. Now on to the positives: $4 martinis. Giddy up! Awesome and friendly service. Yummy food - try the Little Big Mac sliders. Holy shit. If they could figure out what they're trying to be I think I'd love the place. Currently it seems they're trying to be a bit of everything - neighborhood bar, dance club with no dance floor, gastro pub, hip trendy club. It's a mash of competing identities....

Waiter wasn't the nices. My wife had the byob, she said it was good. Fries were a tad cold though. Niece has chicken tenders which were absolutely disgusting. H

Been wanting to try for a while. Finally did this weekend. The restaurant was very small and very busy. We had to wait for a bit to get a table. It's nice that they have extra tables on the patio on front, where we ended up sitting which I was happy with cause it was a nice night. We ordered beers at the bar while we waited, no shipyard on tap :/ the waitress ended up recommending another pumpkin beer that they had on tap and she was not wrong it was delicious! The food was very good. It's nice that they have a large variety of dipping sauces for the chicken tenders. Which are also the wing sauce flavors. The fries were so good! Would definitely go back.

Once upon I time I really really loved Rocco's. Like, I went in right after they opened and was immediately hooked. A 1-2x per week customer. It saddens me to say that they have REALLY gone downhill over the last year and I'm at the end of my rope here. They are consistently out of menu items, changing recipes that were once spectacular, burning/overcooking food, have frozen beer taps, and horrible staff turnover. I went for trivia two weeks ago with my usual group and it will be our last visit there for a very long time. We went from having a waitress that knew all of our names and orders to someone that was extremely rude and making up new rules about running checks that we had never heard of before. My atomic chips were burnt, and the Rocco's Juice sauce for my chicken fingers... my BELOVED Rocco's Juice... was DISGUSTING for the 3rd week in a row!!! They also ran out of the cider that we all really liked, and they had no summer beers on tap in the middle of summer. To top it off, there was some big party going on outside, and although the definitely had adequate staffing, we were ignored and forgotten about for most of the night. Also, I've seen Rocco there plenty of times when it was crazy busy (including this last night) or there were food/drink mistakes... never once has he ever approached a table or pitched in to help the waitstaff. Never. Stop getting comfy and step up your game, Rocco. The regular's are noticing a BIG difference in the food and service. Stock your kitchen, stock your bar, and change back your sauce ingredients and we can be friends again. (Oh and less waitstaff will quit on you if you make their job easy by having the things in stock that people order.....) I might be back one day, but not anytime soon. I miss the old Rocco's sorely.

Classic case of low expectations and them being completely hit out of the park. I wasn't expecting gourmet greatness at a strip mall on route 7 - but between the pizza and calamari that i sampled during my visit here, i had only positive things to report. The outdoor seating is a nice touch - we dined on fathers day 2014 and seating was wide open (again, likely due to the location). They also appeared to have some pretty solid drink specials during the week. Would absolutely dine there again.

awesome little spot. When i saw little i mean it. the place isn't that biggest. we got lucky and there happen to be enough seats for me and my friends at the bar, but all the tables were taken up already. we came specially for the wings, on Thursday they do 35 cent wings and with 50 flavors to choose from it was a must try. we order 8 different flavors anything that had bacon or bourbon in the name was ordered and they were all amazing. seriously not one of the flavors i had i didn't enjoy. only thing i would have to say is the wings were cooked a little too long. majority of them were pretty dried out. BUT ill say it could of been because of the amount of wings we ordered maybe they just let em cook a little long to make sure. but hopefully next time they will be a bit more juice to em. nothing worst than biting into a dried out wing. other than that they have a pretty good micro brew selection and the other dishes i seen fly out the kitchen all looked great as well.

I've come here a few times. The staff is always kind. There are many beers on tap/bottle, they also offer a few liquor concoctions. Wednesday night is $4 martini night and Thursday is .35 cent wing night with over 50 flavors, Dragon's fire and sticky-icky are my two favs! I've had a couple different burgers and none were disappointing. The Rocco's fries are wicked good so much garlic yum yum. The only catch is this place is tiny. Late Spring through early fall they offer 4 tables outside. I had to take a star away because I witnessed two men being over served at the bar(they seemed to be regulars, the bar tender knew them by name). One literally fell off the bar stool and layed on the floor. His also pretty incoherent friend struggled to get the large man on his feet. The kicker... The bar tender LET them drive home. You are responsible for those and others people's lives that were endangered by YOU over serving. I must say I haven't seen this particular bartender since my repeat visits.

Not a pleasant experience. We came here after a night at Twin River and wanted to try this place since I had heard rave reviews from some friends. My friend had asked for her burger rare and it came out well done. The wings we ordered were chinese wings which you think would be in a sticky sauce like the kind you find in a chinese restaurant They were clear and tasted like mustard. I had asked if these were "chinese wings" since they had a large variety on the menu and at first she agreed they weren't then retracted her statement. To top it off, I approached the waitress (that's right I had to look for her to complain about both items since she did not check on our table) and it seemed to be an inconvenience to her. She was busy talking to the other waitresses in the corner on their cell phones. Also worth noting that I found the location of the bathroom to be a bit strange. Although the restaurant is located in a plaza the bathroom is located outside the restaurant down a long hallway. Kind of creepy at night since the rest of the plaza is empty so if you're a girl I suggest you bring a friend with you. All in all... no thanks! We won't be back.

The food is incredible!! More than just pub food, I live around the corner & I would walk to Rocco's during a Blizzard for their food!! Wings are SICK! Bartenders keep smilin, your drinks are fantastic! The personalization throughout the entire restaurant makes you feel so comfortable & they just have it ALL!!! Thanks for always being consistent!!!!!

It's not that I don't want to give it five stars, but a return to here will occur in the near future. Service was great, enough for everyone on the menu. Smallish restaurant but the tables are enough distance apart from the bar not to feel like everybody is squashed inside. Tried the pizza, got the white/garlic with bacon. Delicious. And the Smithfield Cowboy. Wanted a chicken sandwich more than a burger and after delaying ordering a few times, looking down at the menu one last time this was the first name that got my attention. It was no mistake ordering it. Did so without the ranch, seemed like there was already enough going on in that sandwich as is. Excellent service, friendly waitress, good food, clean place, not a long wait for food and it was almost full at the time. And the prices are great, the fish & chips ordered was ridiculous! The good reviews on here worked to gain a new fan. If you haven't yet been maybe you should listen too.

Been to Rocco's twice this summer and sat outside each time. Service excellent by two different waitresses. The menu is diverse and the food well prepared. Had the fajitas, burgers, and salads and would definitely recommend Rocco's for a nice casual meal.

Went there with my family today after the AAA travel show at Twin River. This place is amazing!! My brother and I got the buffalo sandwich- it was fried buffalo chicken, arugula and blue cheese on a bulkie roll. It was huge and honestly the best buffalo chicken sandwich I've had. Taking the other half home for later. My mom had a greek salad with chicken- she loved it. Dad had a Cajun chicken wrap- it had chicken, avocado, lettuce, tomato and a special sauce. We shared the special pretzel appetizer with honey mustard and Dijon mustard dipping sauces. Also, our waitress was great too! I want to come back to try the huge selection of drinks...Fresh sangrias and pumpkin ales. I was blown away by this spot. I would give it 10 stars if I could.

I've gone to Rocco's multiple times, when I first started going the food was great! The service was mediocre but upon my last visit I don't think I will be back for a while. The waitress was more concerned with talking to the owner then waiting on her tables. She was so distracted with talking to him that she forgot our tables appetizer. When she brought our meals out, I told her she forgot our appetizer, she asked if we wanted it then, no we were hungry and wanted it before our food. Meanwhile the owner is sitting at the bar and clearly has an idea that the server made a mistake, since he was glancing over as she was saying sorry. He did not come over to our table to ask how everything was or to even apologize for the mistake. He didn't go to any of the tables to see how any of the costumers food was. My next complaint is the 2.50 up charge for a side salad instead of French fries. The salad consisted of spring mix lettuce, cherry tomatoes, and two cucumbers. The only reason why I gave this review three stars instead of two is because the food is usually good.

Good stuff, Rocco's, and I think I will return to you soon. After a disastrous start at the Fire (don't even drive past that place; find a side street and bypass it), the girl posse and I were beyond hungry and needing to carb up before a rousing game of duckpin bowling (don't judge). Little bit of a wait, but the hostess/waitress was spot on with regards to the estimated wait time and the table was cleared and ready as soon as the previous people left. I am one of those horrid people that don't ever remember names, but the waitress was super nice and I thoroughly enjoyed her pinup-esq style...slightly Bettie Page tough girl vibe. And speaking of vibe, Rocco's is rather enjoyable in that small dark pubby way that you see in movies but never really find in your hometown. Loved the walls, with the chalkboard menu and the tagging, and while it is close quarters, I didn't feel squished or squashed. Seems like a really good selection of beer, but alas, I am super girly with regards to liquor and have never been able to get past the first sip of anything containing hops. But what I do enjoy is a good burger, and Bettie made sure mine was mooing, as requested. A bit of cheese, an ample amount of avocado, and some crispy bacon, paired nicely with superior fries...you know, a nice amount of burnt and non burnt and none of that weird seasoning that can ruin a perfectly good potato. The girl posse both ordered grilled cheeses...not on the menu, but accommodated anyway...and really, there is plenty of the menu to choose from, but my companions have the same food tastes as 5 year olds so...you can find lots of good options, without resorting to just cheese and bread. So, thanks for a good dinner, Rocco's, and I am looking forward to seeing you soon, preferably with the husband, who will definitely order from the menu and let me try some of "his" while thoroughly enjoying "mine".

The name is very deceiving it seems like it would have bar food and pizza but the menu is actually quite upscale we had onion rings with a dipping sauce that was delish and I had a pizza with prosciutto and arugula. The meal was excellent I would go there again.

Went to Rocco's for dinner on a Sunday. Overall - great experience! We sat at the bar and the bartender was friendly and attentive, while handling a full bar of customers. Ordered the bacon avocado burger, it was delicious. Sweet potato fries were good as well. Tried one of the Angry Orchard mixed drinks they offer (the crabby apple), it was yummy! I definitely plan on going back and trying something else on the menu - there were so many menu items I thought looked good. Don't let the address thro you, it's just outside of North Providence and right off of Rt. 295. Easy to find, nice décor, clean and great food.

Saturday late afternoon lunch was delicious. We had to try the wings (Thai chili and sweet sticky). Not hot enough.. Will try another flavor next time. 2 beers 1 salad 2 order of wings and 1 large fry was $47. Very comfortable atmosphere with great food. We will be back.

I like coming to Rocco's, but it is very small inside so I tend to only think about going there on off-hours (mostly Sundays during the day, and not during football). They have a great selection of beers on tap and their food is really good. I usually end up getting some sliders or their riblets. They also offer specials on certain nights, like 25 cent wings or $4 martinis.

My friend and I came here last night after our usual Monday night spot was far too busy to even get a drink. We walked in and to our surprise, it was quite dead. (3 people at the bar and two women at a table.) We didn't get greeted so just sat down. The bartender came over to take out drink orders. I ordered a Sangria and my friend ordered a beer. The Sangria was decent. The garnishes were a little interesting. Lol In one glass of Sangria I received a lemon, orange, lime and two cherries just floating around. The second Sangria came out a little better when I requested a splash of ginger ale. As for the food, we started with the calamari. It was pretty good. A bit of a leftover greasy aftertaste but for bar calamari I honestly can't complain. We decided on the calamari because this place adds a little twist on it. They add green and purple olives as well as chorizo. The bartender came over again to ask us how the calamari was and took our main orders. My friend ordered a burger and i ordered the chicken roccos tacos. Unfortunately i was not notified that they do come with French fries. As a server/bartender, thats the one thing i always make sure to confirm with my customers along with the temperature of the meats of course. Throughout our entire meal we were not asked how anything was or if either of us would like a refill on our drink. The bartender was seemingly far too busy talking to the two guys in the corner of the bar. The tacos were pretty decent for bar food. The chicken was a little different than expected but they definitely weren't the worst. My friend said that the burger was awesome. After we ate we moved to the bar figuring wed get acknowledged a little quicker. That wasn't exactly the case but we tried. We did manage to get her attention for one shot around 11. At about 1120 our glasses were empty but the bartender was far too busy closing down to acknowledge us until we asked to cash out. I'm unsure if the time on Yelp is wrong but it says this bad closes at 1am. Anyways, as for the food, its definitely worth a visit. As for the service? Not too much but if you can get past that, I'd give it a shot. Seems more like a spot to have one beer and maybe a quick snack before heading out to twin river. As for a hangout spot, service definitely put a damper on that for my friend and I.

This is the perfect date night or girl/boy's night out spot! It's a small pub with a great atmosphere! The hubs and I sat at the bar and immediately fell in love with Rocco's with their beer selection! We love our craft beers so it was really great to see a wide selection on tap! I had a Palm Belgian Ale on tap! We started off ordering a chicken quesadilla for an app and it was huge! I liked the jalapenos in the quesadilla for that extra kick! For dinner, we just couldn't decide what to order since everything looked soo good! We decided on a 1lb of wings (sticky icky wings? A spicy-ish Thai sauce!), a Flatbread pizza with prosciutto and arugula, and finally, we had to try Rocco's fries. Holy YUM! Everything was flavorful, portions huge, and loved our adorable bartender! Perfect date night!

You can customize them any way you want and the fries are too good to pass up (wicked good Rocco style!). The service was awesome too! If you're in the area and want a good meal, definitely check this bad boy out. You won't be disappointed!

What a happy little find this place was! My friend/neighbor goes here often and always talked about it. After 6 months of living in the area I never made the venture out to it. Last night a friend of mine came down and we decided to check it out. Its a hole in the wall. Literally. Small, Narrow, Limited seating but you dont feel crowsded in. The kitchen is open and visible which is always nice to make sure there isnt any mucking around. Not the largest meny I've ever seen but defintely has something for everyone. We started with some buffalo wings which were better than average. I always hesitate ordering wings at a new place in fear of being served those goddamn WingDing things. Those things are BULLS#!T. I got the mushroom burger which came with mushrooms, grilled onions and a honey truffle aoli. My friend got a burger with avacado, bacon, cheese and i believe a jalapeno aoli on it. Thank god we split the burgers because we both couldnt decided which we wanted...and they were both pretty damn good. The sauces were right on...not overpowering. The burgers were cooked correctly...which is always a plus. The bar has a small beer selection on tap but its got enough to keep it interesting. Prices? Meh. Not high...but not low. 2 burgers w/ fries, order of wings and two beers (one craft and one tall) came to $44. Oh...i forgot to mention...it was also a Ladies' Night...so a DJ started playing music around 9:30 and the whole place filled with a lazer light show. haha. Not gonna lie...wasnt even mad. Will ABSOLUTELY be going back again!

Decided to check this place out after seeing it in Providence monthly. We came here on a Friday night around 9pm. The place was pretty busy because of the celtics game. We got seated quickly by our waitress who was nice and attentive the whole time. I ordered the ham and cheese panini which was pretty good, nothing special. The side salad it came with was kind of gross. It had some weird dressing on it I just wasnt fond of. It's a nice little place I think for drinks so that's what I would come back for but only if I was in the area.

Visited Rocco's last night w/ wife and brother in-law. Small place, urban graffiti/wall decay motif w/ dance club music; not my style but eh. Big chalk board listing all the beer choices, now we're talking! Promptly seated at the last table available (other than the bar). Friendly waitress. Other than the vinyl upholstery that was all cracked on our seat the place appeared clean. When you go to a place that has the name Pub and Grub you don't expect much in the way of culinary delights; basically snacks and drinks. So we order some brews. My brother in-law and I are beer enthusiast and we were fairly impressed with the beer selection and ordered 2 Dogfish 60 min IPA's (bottles). Wife orders a martini and requests top shelf. Waitress comes back in a few minutes," sorry we're out of 60 min but we have 90 min." Ok that's fine. Comes back in a few minutes to tell wife, " Sorry we're out of that vodka". Ok that's fine. Waitress comes back with my brother in-laws beer and wife's drink. A minute later the bus boy comes over with my beer foaming out of the bottle spilling onto the floor while he holds my glass under it to catch the over flow and promptly places this wet mess on the table with no napkins or a word of apology. Note to Rocco; train the kid or leave him to bus duties. The food; surprisingly very good. Aside from the way overly salted and a tad greasy onion rings, the fish tacos were great, my brother in-laws burrito thing was ok and the wife really enjoyed her plate. Waitstaff was very attentive to wife's shellfish allergies. I order a 2nd beer, Lagunitas Sumpin Sumpin and you guessed it, "we just ran out" Folks, take inventory and adjust the beer menu board! You're not a brew pub so stop pretending with a huge chalkboard menu displaying your non-existent selection of micro brews. The real shocker came with the bill; $200 for 3 ok small plates, a small basket of greasy overly salted onion rings, 2 martinis @$12.95 each! and 5 beers. Yowww! Overly expensive for "Grub" and a mediocre bar; this isn't downtown Boston (or Providence) folks!

Rocco's is a small pub along Rt.7. It is a very comfortable place to sit and grab a drink and some food. They have a decent beer and drink selection at fair prices. The best part is the food. The best way to describe it is bar food with a twist. I would highly recommend the truffle fries with whatever sandwich you are getting. Every day they also have a variety of food specials that always look delicious and interesting. I have been here twice and have enjoyed it both times. It is a very small place so during peak times it is pretty hard to get a table.

My wife and I consider ourselves chicken wing connoisseurs. This place has taken the top spot for our go to chicken wing location. That's no easy feat. We have literally visited every possible chicken wing place in RI....Gators coming in at a close second (due to wing size) but as far as flavors...Rocco's is unbeatable! Also if you're into burgers I don't know exactly what they put in their beef to make it taste so delicious but do yourself a favor and go there... purchase a burger with mushroom and bacon and a side of Buffalo bacon chicken wings.... you will be disgusted with yourself afterwards but your taste buds will thank you.

Not much to complain about with this place. Stopped by on my way home to Massachusetts late afternoon. The bartender mixed a really stiff cocktail for me and I ordered wings and soup to start. The chicken and rice soup was flavorful and thick. It was just outstanding. Roccos boasts 50 flavors of wings. I ordered the greek style. The flavor was excellent, but the wings were small and the bones fragmented. I did not like this, but it is my only complaint. I ordered the salad with steak on it, and it was also outstanding. The quality of food and the value at this place is amazing.

Best burgers, steak and cheese subs and riblets I've ever had! Owner was welcoming and came by the table twice and also sent over the riblets on the house for us to try! Def a new spot to send family and friends if they are in northern ri.

Great little joint that needs to bust a wall down and expand! As a guy with egg allergies....I was beyond pumped when riblets were on the menu with 50 different sauces! (btw.....staff went out of the way to check all ingredients on my meal AND my gf's meal for my allergy) My girlfriend had a burger.....well half a burger, as I asked for a bite and ate more than one bite....whoopsie! Been here many times since....and Rocco, Alessandra, and Phil mush have a great training manual, because the service each and every time with each and every staff member was a Rock star!! Kudos to all.....front, back, and top of the house. Do not pass go.....get to Rocco's tonight

Stopped here after a soccer match. Nice surprise in the middle of the burbs. Five stars for the food and value .. it's not a high end place, but the quality is excellent for the price and convenience. Ambience as Kay R. says is a bit lacking. Peter G's experience in Dec 2012 indicates that things may have taken a downturn however.

At first I thought Rocco's consulted the makers of Grand Theft Auto to create the vibe for the restaurant, from their interior design (its faux exposed brick/graffiti, animal print furniture) to its, er, bouncy staff. Seriously though, it's low key good neighborhood bar food, the service was attentive, and bonus point, currently there is an active yelp check in discount special.

Fun atmosphere and awesome food! 50 flavors for wings & riblets, great dinner salads, amazing burgers, and more. This place takes bar food to another level with specials like a BLT pizza and lobster Mac n Chz, and the service is fantastic with an owner who is 100% passionate & involved in all aspects and a friendly attentive staff.

Really like the buffalo blue burger I had. Cooked perfect. Nice selection of drinks and new ones that I hadn't heard of with angry orchid. Will be going back for their Thursday night wing night.

Love this place. Food A+. Service great. Best little gem in Smithfield. Rocco and Alessandra did a great job. 4$ martins on Wednesday and 25c wings on Tuesdays make for some great deals. I love this place.

Seriously though, it's low key good neighborhood bar food, the service was attentive, and bonus point, currently there is an active yelp check in discount special.

i love the food here...it's very small & sometimes you realllly have to wait a while BUT the staff is amazing & i do love the atmosphere...i love the spicy chicken tacos...would love to see you guys expand someday :) fingers crossed....

Not sure what the one of these post is talking about. Fire code violations, that is a new one for yelp I think? Went in for drinks, Staff was super friendly. I met the owner nice guy sat and talked with us for a while. They even all thanked us for coming in when we left, on a busy Friday night. Large drink selection for a small place. Atmosphere is hip but not over the top. A place you could bring your parents for dinner, and grab a drink with you friends. Good balance. I plan on going in and trying the food, it all looked good.

For the food and service (from Dan, the bartender) we've received on our two visits, 4-stars. Great variety of well-priced food: burgers, pastas, salads, sliders (including shrimp sliders served with guac and in tortillas, AMAZING), lobster mac 'n cheese, and different daily specials (which our friend described as "not what I expected, but exactly what I wanted"). The visual ambiance is trendy - but not too much. "Exposed" brick (ie: fake brick that is designed to look as though the plaster has fallen away in part), chalkboard paint up on the walls, and animal print seats. Another win? Outdoor seating. Some tables with umbrellas and a few picnic tables. Although the view is of Douglas Pike, you're far enough out that it seems more country road than highway. So why the three stars? The bathrooms are not inside the restaurant, but common to the 'office complex'. They were pretty dingy and difficult to find. Also, if it were late, I am not sure how safe I would feel walking out the back door of Rocco's, down the hall, and down the other hall (which I missed the first time and almost ended up in the basement) despite the signs that state "video surveillance in use". Also - the music. A little too loud, and a little too club-y. I came out for good food and a drink, not to dance (or notice my shoulders involuntarily moving to the beat). I could understand if it was 9pm on Friday - not at 5/6pm on a Sunday. Honestly, I think the overwhelming music may keep us from going back - if that were a little less obtrusive, this could be the reason to head the outside Providence!

UPDATE 9/29 Went here twice recently after a long hiatus. Service was good but the food is still nothing to go out of your way for - its not bad just the same old. Had fish and chips. The fish batter was encrusted in potato chips which in my opinion didnt really work due to being too similar to the batter as in another layer of batter. Had it been nuts or something else it might have worked. Tasted like another layer of batter to me and took away the taste from the fish. Good to see that it wasnt $15 like on a previous visit either. Malt vinegar was not the usual malt vinegar but a lighter kind of vinegar. Didnt work either for this guy who likes to drench fish n chips in salt n vinegar - and I know i'm not alone in this. Functionally adequate in a pinch and not bad, just nothing to rave about either.

This is the neighborhood spot you wish you had in your neighborhood. The food is fresh and tasty. Everything I've tried has been good - burgers, BBQ pork sandwich, fries, fish tacos, and riblets. LOVE it here. Great atmosphere, great staff, good food and yummy drinks. On Wednesday's they have $4 martinis, so we made it a weekly tradition after work..."Midweek Martinis". Thank you Rocco's!! We stopped in on our way home to VT from RI, after reading the reviews. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere fun and interesting for our three kids..all under 8 years old. The bartender/waiter was super friendly, personable and attentive. The burgers were delicious and fish tacos amazing! We'll take another detour again, just to come back to Rocco's. Well done!!

Don't let the word "pub" fool you - we're talking 5 star food in a non-frilly atmosphere. This is the perfect place to go when you want the Italian taste of upscale Federal Hill, but don't want to get dressed to the nines to enjoy it. Their anitpastp platter is authentic and delicious - you'll feel like you're in Old World Italy in no time! Their cheeseburger sliders were delicious. Mmm. I can't wait to go back and try their Risotto of the Day. Drinks are reasonably priced. Martini list looks yummy!

Had a Great dinner Thursday night with some friends! What a great surprise for a strip mall - you walk in and the place is cozy yet comfortable. This is the type of pub great for watching games with awesome food that we have always hoped for in Providence, but have never found. Our waitress greeted us and took our drink order (dirty martinis - very good pour) and told us about the specials and the best items on the menu. For appetizers we had the calamari lightly fried with a great dipping sauce and the pommes souffle - decadent with Gorgonzola and white truffle dip! After some drinks and the great appetizers - we decided to try a bunch of food family style - WOW! We ordered the meatball sliders and the Bolognese that the waitress recommended. The owner Rocco was cooking so we told the waitress to have him pick the third item for us - he picked the Arabiatta flatbread. Meatball Sliders - 3 big meatball sliders with french fires! Flavorful homemade meatballs with oozing ricotta cheese! Bolognese - Bucatini Pasta? Really in a pub - This dish alone is worth the trip to Rocco's! This would be twice the price for a smaller portion in Providence or Boston. Arabiatta Flatbread - if you like a spicy pizza - this is it. Have Rocco kick it up if you like spicy. Great pick by the Chef! Next time we will save room for dessert - if the first 2 courses were any indication - I'm sure dessert will be just as good! If you are looking for a treat - skip the city and go to Rocco's! Get in before everyone else finds out about this special place - there will be a line out the door on weekends when the secret gets out!

Mmm Rocco Fries, burgers, and flatbreads. Rocco's is definitely a place where you can find a crowd, good food, expansive drink menu, and friendly service without heading to Providence. The decor is a bit cheesy, but the food makes up for it. Anything involving their burgers, fries, flatbreads, or salads is a home run; fish and chips leave something to be desired. Be sure to get there early because this place is packed!

I stopped into Rocco's one late afternoon. It's a cute little spot. It is primarily a bar with an open kitchen and lots of TVs. There are a few tables including a nice big table in the window. I was greeted by a friendly, though very young staff. The riblets were highly recommended and I have to agree. Nice to see some different things on a menu. I had a less than stellar Linguini with white clam sauce. I think I will stick with the pub food. Everything that people were eating around me looked delicious. The staff made up for anything lacking in the food. They were a lot of fun and made stopping in a nice way to end my day. I had a second experience at Rocco's that didn't go as well as the first with the staff. I walked in a bit later in the day than previously. The bar was starting to fill up but there was still plenty of room. I was greeted by the bartender and the server I had at my last visit. There were 4 or 5 staff members and the owner standing around talking. I sat and sat and sat and finally got tired of waiting for someone to offer me a menu or a drink. After about 10 minutes I walked out. It was a real disappoint. I will go back again, but probably not alone. I think they are on the right track with their menu, food and even service, it just needs a little tweaking.

Kudos to Rocco! After reading several five star reviews on Yelp my husband and I wanted to see if all the hype was truly accurate. Was it ever! We arrived around 5pm for an early Saturday night dinner and the bar was half full and there were 2 tables of diners. The inside is warm an inviting with high tables and banquette seating. There are flat screen tv's over the bar and in one corner. Not a large space but cozy and it didn't get too loud. We were quickly greeted by our waitress, Shantei, who brought menus and took our drink order. There were 6 or so beers on tap; nothing fancy but a Sam Seasonal will typically suffice. The drink menu looked appealing as did the wines. There were several dinner specials but we stuck to the menu; meatball sliders and pasta with vodka sauce and grilled chicken. My husband said the meatballs were fantastic and the homemade fries that came with were to die for. The vodka sauce was exceptional. The dish was cooked to order and the sauce and chicken hot. While enjoying our meal the bar filled up as did all of the tables and by 6pm two parties were waiting for seats. Shantei had come over several times to get us additional drinks and check on us, all while waiting on each of the other 6 tables! She was superb! For dessert we tried the Caramel Apple Gelato which was delicious. As we were getting ready to leave the Host who was starting the evening shift came over to ask how everything was, which was impressive while the place was packed. All in all a great evening and we will definitely be back!

Worst experience ever I wpuldnt even waste your time my friend raved about the barbecue chicken pizza with onion rings on it saying it was amazing and it was horrible all burnt and I couldn't even take a bite without having a hard time and the red head waitress was a see you next Tuesday DONT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON THIS SHIT HOLE

But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
