Always love the innovative and delicious pizzas, salads and sandwiches here, friendly and fast, great for takeout...trying a sandwich tonight...

My aunt gave us a Groupon for The Pizza Gourmet. We were a bit frustrated because we had to eat in inside, even though there is barely any place to sit inside. This is definitely a take-out place only. We sat eating our pizza and had to listen to the barking of the owner as orders were placed. That said, the pizza quality was great. We both enjoyed our pizzas. Lots of delicious options and very flavorful. The issue is, had we gotten take-out, the super-thin pizza would have been soggy by the time we got home. I really wish this place had a better place to sit. Until then, I'm not sure we will get food from The Pizza Gourmet again.

Since moving to Providence, my partner and I have tried about four or five pizza places, and so far, this has been the best one, bar none. Delicious, feeling, very affordable, and excellently proportioned, this has been some of the most exceptional pizza we've had in a long time, in Providence or otherwise!

This is just excellent pizza. I order pickup from here a fair amount, never have had issues. The wraps on that FLAT BREAD though UGH. Personally, I eat one wrap for dinner and save the other one for lunch the next day since they're so big and reheat well in the toaster oven.

The best grilled pizza in Providence. Whether picking it up in store or ordering delivery, the pizza is always hot and fresh. The wood grilled crust has the perfect amount of chewiness. The toppings are diverse and always well done. I'd be lying if I told you I only ate this pizza on occasion, it's become a weekly occurrence. Our two favorites are Momma's Meatball and the Steak and Cheese. Momma's meatball comes with meatballs, roasted red peppers, fresh mozzarella, and pomodoro sauce. We always add roasted garlic for good measure. This is so good that I have to stick to ordering a small size. I will eat the entire pizza in one sitting no matter what size I get. The Steak and cheese has shaved top round, mozzarella cheese, button mushrooms, roasted peppers, grilled yellow onions, cracked black pepper, and a "secret sauce." Another amazing offering that departs from more traditional pizza toppings.

What are the words for a gourmet dream gone awry? I expected light crisp thin crust cheesy delight and instead got a raggedy absolute waste: -hard to chew doughy taste at the end of the slices (1/4 the pie) - the cheese was not melted and tasted like rubber. Literally squares of it slide right off with the previous bite. - asked for "light" amt of sauce, which to them translates to 3 glops of sauce on the whole pie. Seriously? Odd that i'd have to say "please spread the light amount of sauce instead of glops". - stingy stingy stingy with toppings. I ordered 4 toppings. I expect every bite to have at least a corner of one of those toppings- not the case whatsoever. - I actually think they mistakenly baked the pizza without all the toppings and then put them on cold before delivering. Never ordering from here again because its PIZZA. It's not that difficult to make, you really gotta try to screw it up this bad. We tossed the leftovers because honestly couldn't even imagine enjoying it cold (and we love cold pizza the next day). I do appreciate the business owner contacting me and I responded. It seems they are a great spot based on other reviews, but my pie just happened to be a very bad.

Stopped in with my bf for lunch here. It is right next to Tortilla flats. The girl at the counter was super nice, funny, and friendly! Choice of white or wheat dough on your pizza. We ordered the large 18" margherita pizza (though it's spelled "margarita" on their menu). It came with basil pesto sauce and balsamic. About $26 with two sodas. We took half of it home. This pizza was absolutely delicious, on crispy thin crust, and I am not a thin or crispy fan! Definitely one of the best pizzas I have had in the area, and we will most certainly be returning time and time again. The place is small, so it was a bit tight with our large pizza and drinks on the table. There wasn't room to move my chair back at all. My bf is tall so he was a little uncomfortable, but that wasn't much of a problem, especially when all we could focus on was how good our pizza was. They have smallerr pre-made "take and bake" pizzas you can purchase from the fridge, and cookies/brownies at the counter. I really really really want to give this place 5 stars because we had such a great experience, except it was obvious in taste and just by looking that they refrigerate their tomatoes. Don't do this people! It gives your tomatoes an off flavor and texture. So minus one star, because it seems that they are a place cooking up real food, and they should have known better.

Delicious pizza. Delicious salad. Lots of options. Yum.yum yum. You can get funky here. You can stay classic here. You can go a little crazy and still maintain composure. Pizza Gourmet has a little bit of everything for everybody. My favorites right now include the pear gorgonzola salad. Sweet with a tang. I like the Greek Pizza, which a thin crust pizza with a greek salad dumped on top. How fun! Their Buffalo Chicken Salad is just what it should be. You don't feel too terrible after eating it. We tried, I think it was the Thai Chicken Pizza, the other day. That was pretty good too. Different and delicious! We used a Groupon and totally worth experimenting with their many many options. Customer services has always been fantastic. They've been friendly and fast.

Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and 5-star this one. Amazing pear and gorgonzola salad, and the wheat crust pizza is awesome. You can get a pizza with a salad on top! Most importantly, there's a Groupon. 'Nuff said.

Pizza Gourmet has some pretty bombtastic pizza... if you do it right. So I was super torn between giving it a 3 or 4 star rating. I stress: ordering a pie is definitely better than ordering by the slice. They keep their pizzas in the fridge and simply heat them up by the slice for you. When you order a fresh pie, you'll taste the difference. I will say that I am not normally one to order a cheese pizza, but I really enjoyed theirs. They're known for their crust with good reason. There's a great chew and good flavor. Definitely not spectacular when cold, though. I also kind of get annoyed when I order more than one slice and they're piled up on each other. Why would one ever do that? The cheese from the bottom piece was fused to the top piece and they both became quite soggy just on the short car ride home. So yeah, basically, stick to ordering pies and not by the slice. Oh -- their cookies are usually pretty tasty and the pizza shells are available for purchase.

Amazing little pizza spot with ample street parking. The Gluten-Free crust was very good and surprisingly crisp even with all of the toppings of Misty's Meatlovers. There is no Parmesan shakers to add cheese if you are doing in, but they do have Red Pepper flakes. Upbeat staff and good selection of items.

I'm uncertain how people keep giving Pizza Gourment 5 stars. I really had high hopes after reading the great reviews, I even skipped my favorite pizza place to try this spot. That being said, I ordered a large Misty's Meatlovers and a large salad. The salad was totally fine, but it was missing the olives (bummer). The Misty's Meatlovers pizza I expected to be loaded with sausage, bacon, pepperoni (such as any other Meatlovers from a pizza joint). When I opened the box I went into a bit of a shock from the lack of meat. So much for the name I guess. According to the description it was supposed to have slab bacon, which I did not see on the pizza. There were a few crumbles on a corner that I'm assuming was the slab bacon. Overall it was tasty pizza but seriously needs more meat for a Meatlovers. I want to see more meat than cheese! Crust was good, but was soggy from the olive oil trapped in by the cheese.

This last week, I went to get a slice of pizza. They usually have Cheese, Pepperoni and a Special Pizza of the day...since I got there at opening time, the guy that was making the pizza asked me what I wanted on the Special Pizza....in other words, he was going to make my Choice, the special of the day... Sweet. The pizza was Delicious...Margarita with grilled chicken....The crust had a nice crisp and bite, the toppings were of good quality and tasty. The cheese was gooey and fresh tasting...the chicken had some taste !!! Not like some other places ...where the chicken is bland... They also offer a great selection of salads....sandwiches....soups....pasta...., etc....They make their own Potato Chips...have not had them yet...but...I LOVE CHIPS...so this will be on my next Pizza Gourmet Order.... :-) The staff is friendly and very nice. The lady at the counter and the guy in the back are just smiley and positive. This place knows how to treat customers ! Kudos to them !!

First time here. Got the cheesy bread (good but didn't care for the sauce), margarita pizza (excellent), meat lovers pizza (good). Also got the jumbo crispy spicy wings. There was nothing jumbo, crispy, or spicy about them, and they were undercooked. Just regular buffalo wings you can get anywhere. Don't be misled by the description.

Love pizza gourmet! Essentially my go-to spot for take-out pizza in PVD. I dig: - the thin, grilled crust - the deliciously unhealthy amounts of cheese on each pizza - that the toppings go almost to the edge of the pizza (naked crust is over-rated) - the unusual flavor combos (especially the pear & gorgonzola...SO GOOD) - the homemade cheesy bread (with four, count-em FOUR, cheeses!)

When the pizza craving strikes, it strikes damn fierce. Unfortunately, my pie from the Gourmet left the hungry beast within slightly dissatisfied. The venue itself is pretty sweet - dark decor with chalkboard menus and a few ottomans that added a more café-esque vibe. As a coffee shop slummer, this was a welcome change from your standard greasy-seat, 1960's floor-patterned pizza kitchen. The staff was also very friendly and helpful with navigating the initially overwhelming plethora of customization options. Price-wise, this place defeated the purpose I intended for it - which was dodging the mandatory $14 cheese-only pie at Nice Slice. A medium (12") pepperoni pizza ran up a hefty 12 and a half bucks that burned an unneeded hole in my wallet and overall optimistic expectations for my upcoming gorge. The pie itself was a 3-star oval of meh. I ended up at this joint looking for some good thin-crust pizza, which seems to be a surprising rarity on the East Side. I'm no fan of overly aggressive saucing, but this pie was essentially a cheese board. Additionally, the pizza was cut into flabread-style squares, which drove my usual pizza-folding OCD into a bit of an existential crisis. Fumbled as a might, there was no folding these awkward little triangles of artisanal cheesiness. If you dig upscale options, this place may be your jam. As purely a matter of personal preference, my thin-crust quest will likely continue elsewhere.

I gave this place a second chance and I was pleasantly surprised. This time around I got Ragin' Cajun pizza after it was recommend by the owner and the manager of this place. I usually do not like chicken on my pizza as it is for the most part tends to be dry; however, chicken on this pizza was still moist. However, my favorite was the sausage on this pizza, which was very tasty!! This pizza was very flavorful with right amount of spice. This time around the crust was a lot better...not as much chewy!! This is not your neighborhood New York Style pizza place, this is a very good gourmet pizza joint. I very much like the service at this place and very much appreciated the friendliness shown by the owner and the manager.

So, 50% of the time, this place is awesome, and their sesame chicken pizza is delicious. But the other 50% of the time, I open the pizza box and find a sloppy, greasy mess that looks completely different from the same thing I ordered last time. Come on pizza gourmet, you guys need to maintain the quality no matter how busy it is or who's working! I love the crust and the menu, but if I wanted a crappy greasy pizza that falls apart when I pick up a slice, i'd go to dominos.

A few weeks ago, this review would have all 5 stars. However this week we had an incident that changed our opinions a little bit. I have had a few different kinds of pizza there and it really is Gourmet. My favorite is the buffalo chicken pizza, it has the great taste of gorganzola cheese and a nice crunch from the red onion, with a hint of heat. However, my last experience with them was mostly they way the staff treated our order. The delivery person must have tilted the pizza and it was stuck to the top of the box. We called the store to ask for another one and were told it would take an hour, we were not offered a refund, this is not how I wanted our east coast division rep to remember her visit.

I just went to Pizza Gourmet tonight to try their gluten free pizza. I was excited because I am a pizza snob from NJ (where all awesome pizza lives)...and I heard good things about this place. I called at 9:15pm to order pick-up and nobody answered. Hungry, and really wanting pizza, I got in the car and went there to order. I was met at the door by the owner who said they were closed. I told him that it said online they were open until ten. He said that when they are slow they close early because he doesn't want to pay the staff and extra hour to work if they have slow business. Uhhhhh really??? If you have ever worked in the restaurant industry (as I have for many years), and you have had to wait for two old ladies (who are the last two people in the restaurant) sip luke-warm tea for three hours while you wait for closing time to arrive...then you would be pissed by this too. Tip to owner: Perhaps business is slow because you close your PIZZA PLACE at 9pm. I mean seriously...who the hell eats pizza before 9pm??? Not this Jersey girl. I have never had their food...but I won't be back anytime soon. Good luck with your "7pm pizza rush"...you'll need it.

Pizza Gourmet has become a staple in our house. They use high quality ingredients and everything we've tried has been amazing. I'm particularly fond of the gorgonzola sauce. It's well worth paying a little extra compared to cheaper pizza places to get food from here.

I frequent Pizza Gourmet weekly but I have yet to have their pizza. In my opinion they have the best sandwiches in town. Wether it be their breads, home made focaccia, grilled flat bread, or roll, or creative ingredients I love this place. I highly recommend the Italian, chicken salad and pear Gorgonzola salad.

The apps here are just okay but the pizza is amazing. I love the margarita pizza. It's drizzled with just enough balsamic. I ordered a bacon and pineapple pizza. It was a fat girls heaven. FYI it is cut into squares but you can request it to be cut like a regular pie. It' makes you feel less piggish eating 2 slices rather than 4 or 5 squares. The sandwiches are decent just make sure you check them to make sure they're right before leaving. They've messed up on a few occasions but are always apologetic and fix it or give you a free one next time.

Very good pizza and fast delivery. The pizza is always good. I've never been disappointed. It's grilled! They use good quality ingredients. They will do a split pizza without a hassle. They're nice enough. Salads are large and did I mention the delivery is fast? No? The delivery is fast.

This place rocks. The owner is super nice. And they are quick so whenever i order somethin on break from work they get it out with time to spare! The cookies are always fresh and delish and the wood grilled pizas are amazing! Yum yum yum!! Try the margerita pizza!!

Great spot to pick up a pizza to go. We thought the dining area of the shop was a bit too small, about 3-4 small tables. It wasn't busy while we were there eating, but on a weekend I could imagine there isn't too much space to move. The buffalo chicken pizza that we ordered was very large and delicious. I was impressed by how all of the toppings and ingredients were evenly and perfectly dispersed throughout the pizza. They also serve one of my favorite sodas, yacht club soda! We ate 3/4 of the pizza, got the rest wrapped to go and bought a bag of the homemade chips...very good! Definitely plan to return for a take-out order in the future.

Actually, the last few orders have been on point, so upping to five stars. Perfectly cooked and just the right amount of balsamic! Recommend getting a medium so that you get to eat the leftovers too.

Since the kid arrived we have been the delivery people. Granted we were before too, but we went out. Yeah, not so much these days, so delivery is pretty much a must. And I've said before, PVD lacks sorely in the delivery business, as in most of the places I want delivery from doesn't have it (even from one of the services. Boo!!). Anyway... Pizza Gourmet wasn't one we tried for a while, pretty much pizza pier kind of people (which I still love) This place- fast, I like that a lot. Bonus points for fast. Good topping options, yummy. Last couple pizzas (not the same night) Margarita with hot capricola (delicious but super greasy- skip the meat next time) BBQ pizza - which I don't always love, really liked this one and Mediterranean/Greek pizza for hubby (honestly didn't try it, but he was a super fan). Have also gotten some sandwiches - chicken and Brie - yummy. And choc chip brownie- extra double points. They do cut the pizza in the weird squares, but whatever. I can live. Fast, yummy, delivers AND they do take home and bake (have to try it- love the option)

Best grilled pizza in Providence. Love their Old School and Quattro Mushroom. I have had almost everything on their menu and have never been disappointed. The Chips and Gorg dip are amazing. My work often gets catering from there and it is so good. Their veggies are fresh and everything is full of flavor.

We had an awesome experience! Ordered takeout on Valentine's Day-- fantasy chicken salad was to.die.for and I could have made a meal on just that alone! We tried the spinach and red pepper pizza (whole wheat crust was awesome!) with pomodoro sauce. Highly recommend. The service was quick and they were super friendly both on the phone and in the store. We will be back!

Always yummy! I can only speak for the pizza as I have never tried anything else. The pear, gorgonzola pizza is the most delicious pizza to ever grace my taste buds. I typically get in on wheat crust, which is delicious. Last night I got a slice of margarita to-go, thanks to the Lord of the Pies via RI Food Fights. It was certainly up to par. Will continue to return.

I had a Groupon I wanted to go out for the night! Upon arrival we were a little thrown off because we thought it might be more of a sit-down place, however we took the pizzas home. I like the Decour and the tiny pizza shop feel it almost reminds me of the best pizza places in New York City and Chicago! However their pizza is gourmet worthy! We had four pizzas personal sized one the Ragin' Cajun, the Margarita, pear and Gorgonzola, and the Mediterranean. All four pizzas were awesome! You really need to check this out because it's a step above the crust. Take your time look over the menu I'm sure you can find what you'd like from pizzas to appetizing do even desserts.

Saw that The Pizza Gourmet was highly rated on grubhub so thought I'd give it a try... For ONCE the online reviews actually lived up to the ratings. Quick delivery for a weekend night, very reasonably priced pizza, high quality ingredients, and they don't skimp on toppings. Delicious pizza as well! I'm so glad I decided to try somewhere new. The Pizza Gourmet definitely has a repeat customer!

Great food ! I've been looking for a pizza place that delivers wood grilled thin crust! Not only is their pizza amazing but their sandwiches are just as good! I'm always satisfied with their service! My friend is GF so I was able to pick up some take and bake for him- and he was so excited to try it! They were major fans! Everyone there is so nice and I've never been disappointed! Keep up the good work!

I LOVE this place. I often get "take and bake" pizza, which I think is the best in Rhode Island. The fresh basil and balsamic glaze is a really nice touch. I wish more pizza places would do that. Tonight, I decided to get a take-out Buffalo Chicken wrap! WOW!!! It was great, and spicy! I like it HOT!!! Though I know not everyone does, so be forewarned. But i loved it! The homemade chips are the best!! I'd order this again!

  • Brandy G.

Let me start by saying almost everything I've ever eaten here has been delicious. I love the buffalo chicken pizza on wheat crust and the gorgonzola dipping sauce with fresh baked pita chips. However, the owner of this place deserves to be on kitchen nightmares. He is rude, loud and arrogant. Order for the food and not the experience. And don't even think about having an issue with anything you're served. At pizza gourmet the customer is ALWAYS WRONG!

  • James M.

I finally tried Pizza Gourmet for the first time and let me say what a great experience it was. At pizza place you usually don't find customer service and that is the real reason I am giving P.G. A five star! I called in my order and with such a huge menu it was easy to find things I wanted. It was almost hard because my eyes were bigger then my stomach and I wanted like ten things. So I ordered online and went in to pick it up and when I got to my car a BBQ pizza I ordered had chicken on it and wanting the vegetarian BBQ pizza I went back in and explained my mistake I made over the phone. The girl behind the counter said no problem and fixed it with a quickness and told the chef it was her fault when he asked. So I tried a variety of things including the BBQ chicken Pizza which was great but had Gouda and Mozzarella and only a little bit of BBQ sauce so more sauce would totally pump it up. I also had the Ragun Cajun which was so amazing with sausage and pepperoni and banana peppers and blue cheese with a spicy sauce oh my god so good.

I'm not a fan of most PVD pizza but The Pizza Gourmet rises above the mediocre pizza that exists in RI. I did not do take out but rather sat in the window and enjoyed a crisp crust with a plethora of mushrooms and cheeses. The mushroom were a mix of wild mushrooms instead of white button. We ordered 2 pizzas one with the white crust and one with the wheat and I do like the wheat crust better. It has more flavor and had a better texture. One feature that I think that sets this place apart is you can do take out bit with a "raw" pizza. The crust is partially cooked and the toppings are uncooked. All you have to do is throw it in your oven when you get home and you can enjoy fresh pizza in the comfort of your own home.

  • Debjani M.

Definitely the best pizza I've had in Providence. You can taste the freshness in the ingredients. We initially ordered the Make Your Own pizza with a whole bunch of things on it. Someone from the kitchen came out to warn us that unless we wanted a burnt pizza, we should consider cutting back on the toppings! He stuck around to help us decide on what we should keep on, which was really helpful. Ultimately, we got the whole-wheat crust with 3 toppings (asparagus, wild mushroom and chicken for me) & a sauce (I got the no-sauce sauce which was a blend of olive oil, asiago and some herbs). The pizza was delicious. The crust was just the right degree of thin. The toppings tasted great. Ate the whole 8" myself and didn't feel like carbo-overload! They serve other items too. We ordered the vegetable antipasto, which came with roasted vegetables, bread, hummus and brie cheese. The vegetables were excellent but the hummus & cheese tasted unusual (which isn't a necessarily bad thing, just not up my alley). They also have a fresh fruit cup, which was a disappointment. Their 2 for $1.50 cookies were good. Definitely coming back here. Next time, I'll stick to the pizza.

I was very excited to see "extra crispy chicken wings" on the menu and decided to get this and a pizza delivered. What a disappointment this place is. First of all, chicken wings are extremely soggy, there is nothing crispy about it, and for 9.95?? Really? Pizza was nothing special. I was better off with boxed pizza and chicken wings from Dominos. Thirty dollars for bad food. What a waste of money. Never coming back to this place again. Save your money and don't bother wasting your time folks. There are other places to frequent.

This is my new favorite pizza place in the area. I have only tried the chicken-roni pizza, but I see no reason to deviate. The vodka sauce is delicious and I love the pepperoni and chicken combo of flavors. I have also had the mac & cheese which was delicious, but more expensive than I want to pay for a pasta dish.

We decided to go here after we saw the hour plus wait at Tortilla Flats next door. The staff was extremely friendly and the pizza was some of the best I've had in RI. next to "Federal Hill Pizza" (located in Warren RI if it's not confusing enough), Pizza Gourmet is the best. We had the "Ragin' Cajun" pizza and it was outstanding. The prices are a little expensive for a large ($20+), but you certainly are getting a quality pizza. Strongly recommended. The only drawback was the size, which is extremely tight if you are deciding to dine in; an almost impossible task if you are with a family. Also, not sure if they have a liquor license either. Other than that, the food is delicious!

Recently got takeout: buffalo wings, margarita pizza, and potato skins (if you can call them that). The pizza was small for the cost, greasy due to bad quality cheese, and quite flavorless. The potato skins were just thin slices of potato sparsely covered with cheese, overly greasy bacon, and brown chives; plus the bonus of all of the burnt cheese (hooray!). Alas, the chicken wings. They looked like they were steamed (no crisp, just fat), with a sauce that must was mostly oil and didn't stick to the wings, leaving with fatty wings and a pile of separated oil/sauce. All of these are easy things to get right, but they were all wrong in varying ways. Won't return.

I like this place. I don't think it would ever be my top choice, but they have a ton of variety and you get a lot of pizza for your money (I am all about value). So far, I've ordered from here twice. I bought a couple Groupons for $30, which meant that BF and I each got our own pizza (score!). I opted for the Mediterranean, and he got the Momma's Meatball. The pizza was gigantic and loaded with toppings. I think bf was a little sick after eating his (greed, not food poisoning), but I managed to pace myself and felt fine. He did say that there was a LOT of meat on the pizza--perhaps too much. One thing I did notice, the crust is a bit chewy and my jaw started to hurt after a while. We had two days worth of leftovers, and I actually opted to freeze mine and enjoyed it a few weeks later. Second time around, BF got Pasta Bolognese and I got the Quatro Mushroom. No complaints from me. The pizza was perfect, lots of mushrooms, roasted garlic and gorgonzola for that extra kick. BF said his pasta was good, but perhaps not worth $12. I haven't tried to do any specialty ordering because a lot of other reviewers said that Pizza Gourmet can't handle that, but there are a few specialty pizzas that if I could just get them without meat, I'd be super into (mashed potatoes--yes please), but I live in fear and haven't made the attempt. Overall, solid pizza at a good price. The space is quite tiny, so I would stick with takeout, but I'll certainly go back.

I tried this place using Groupon and I've been back 2X since. I usually don't indulge in pizzas for dietary reasons, even though I truly enjoy the gourmet kind. However, I make an exception for this place. Unpretentious in its appearance yet the food speaks for itself. More importantly, the star of the joint: Pizza! One of the best I have ever had (Quattro Mushroom is the bomb). The wheat crust is divine. Unique pizza toppings (Monster Mash!). Rich soups. Now, whenever I want to eat pizza, apart from the quick to-go slices from Dave's Market, I know where to really get it -- The Pizza Gourmet, where else?

I noticed Groupon had a deal for The Pizza Gourmet. So, i figured i'd give it a whirl. The Mister and i created a pizza of our own: Whole Wheat crust, "pomodoro" sauce, artichoke hearts, spinach, banana peppers, and grilled purple onions. We also got a garden salad. The Pizza: *Huge *the "pomodoro" sauce was just canned tomato, no seasoning... just a canny taste. *the artichokes were pretty canny as well and not very special *the center of this enormous pie was soggy Not even hot sauce or some meddling with salt, pepper, hot pepper, or any variety of spices helped this pizza for me. The Salad: *Huge (big enough for two) *Fresh *Tasty croutons All of this for a whopping $36. Luckily i had the Groupon deal or i wouldn't have been a happy camper... I'm not sure exactly what makes the pizza of gourmet status, aside from the prices they charge. If soggy pizza and flavorless sauce is gourmet i'm sure glad i'm not a fancy lady...

Definitely my go-to pizza place for delivery. Everything I have gotten from here has been amazing. I try to get something new each time and have yet to be disappointed.

Our first time here because of a Groupon... And thrilled we've discovered this place! Had the sesame chicken on wheat and the ragin' Cajun on white. Me and the boyfriend couldn't decide which one we loved more! Oh and had a big bag of their homemade chips......AWESOME! Can't wait to try other pizzas here!!!

Pizza Gourmet gets exactly 3 stars - it's A-OK in my book. Not spectacular, but better than good. I would order a pizza from here again, no doubt. We went for the large Margarita and a Greek Salad. The pizza was yummy, and I loved the balsamic drizzle added to the already super-fresh mozzarella, tomatoes and basil. The Greek Salad was totally satisfying and more than enough for the two of us - and it was LOADED with the 'chinis I so love and adore. But I gotta be honest - I didn't love the way the pie was cut it into squares rather than the traditional slices you'd expect to find. It made me feel like I was a little kid or something... I'm not into it, yo'. The crust was great - a perfect balance between doughy and crisp, salty and sweet. One thing worth noting - it does NOT do cold well, which is somewhat of a slip-up for me. I love cold pizza, but the crust has got to stay intact. This dough went right to soggs-ville :( So, my go-to will still be Sammy's, but I'm comfortable calling Pizza Gourmet my back up.

Best pizza in New England (which means anywhere in the US). If you don't agree I will buy you a pizza from where ever you think is better (go ahead, contact me!). Also fast delivery. We have eaten there and the place is small and nice with a great staff who were very kind to our children. They also have wheat crust which makes splurging on pizza not SO unhealthy. They also carry the best locally made Yachet Club ginger ale.

Solid pizza and good for the east side. The grilled crust is a providence standard and the Pizza Gourmet does it very well. Their specialty combinations are creative and tasty. The bolognese sauce base is delicious as is the meat lovers pizza and sausage topping in general. This place only suffers from having too much choice and the basics are not so well done. The plain tomato sauce could be more flavorful and the cheese is good, not great.

Best pizza in town! Healthy! They use real chicken breast here so skip the pizza guilt.

I ordered a medium pizza tonight- gorgonzola with mozzarella and prosciutto- and they said about a half an hour for delivery. It came in 20 minutes and was hot. I'm pretty picky about my pizza, and I really enjoyed this pizza! There was a lot of cheese, and the sauce was really good. Affordable with no delivery charge. This will probably be my new go to for delivery!

Used the catering service. The Stromboli were delicious, the salads tasty and fresh. Their thin crust pizzas are yummy. We had the steak one (good), and the white one with ricotta (very good). Would definitely come back here. The place itself is not big. Not a place for a nice sit-down dinner, but it's ok for a quick lunch to have a delicious piece of pizza. As far as the food and catering is concerned, Pizza Gourmet deserves five stars. It's just the size and appearance of the interior which makes it lose one. The catering chef was very friendly and helpful when returning my call to confirm the order.

Dear Pizza Gourmet, I love you. I love you for your whole wheat crust, your weird concoctions, your takeout specials, and for your general quirkiness. I love that instead of actually cooking for guests, I order from you and look badass. I love that you put mashed potatoes on pizza. I love that you have a pizza called "Peasant." I love that you allow me to "take" and then "bake." I love that you deliver so very quickly. Granted, you're up the street. But... I love that you're up the street. I love your little saran-wrapped chocolate cookies. I love that you give me a free soda when I order two slices to go. I love that your house sauce is called "BOMB." You're the bomb, kid. Love, Betsy

I found this place almost two years back when I was living in Providence for a while. It has quickly become one of my favorites. They offer delicious food for low prices. It's one of the best pizza places in Providence!

I have a problem with this place. It is utterly addictive. Their grilled crust pizza is amazing but this place offers so much more. From the simple peasant take and bake pizza that I can pick up and heat in my oven later, to the baked mac and cheese that is ooey, gooey and topped with cracker crust to the homemade chips with gorgonzola dip and the fresh sandwiches, there are too many good choices. Pizza Gourmet also does a fabulous job with catering anything from pastas to fritatas and sushi platters too. And every now and then you can pick up a restaurant.com certificate and get and even better deal on great food.

I have been here several times, always for take out. While there are tables for a few people, I have never seen anyone eating in. It is a very small area, with a relatively small menu, pizza, sandwiches, salads, and a few sides and desserts. The food is, quite simply, perfect. It is the best pizza I've had in the city, and I've had a lot. The sandwiches are heaven, salads fresh and delicious. The prices are slightly higher than some other sub/pizza joints, and well worth it. If you are able to get the groupon, bonus, if not, still well worth it. Five stars all day long.

Pizza Gourmet makes the best pizza I have EVER had. YUM. It is a delicious thin crust pizza with the most deliious sauce and cheese that taste unlike anything I have ever had on my pizza before. The Old School Pizza with sausage is my absolute favorite. And their pizzas are GIANT. Get a large pizza and you can have lunch for a week! The Take and Bake pizza (where they make it so you can cook it at home) is also a great option to have as well. They also deliver unlike many places in Providence which is WONDERFUL.

  • Tommy C.

Very good pizza. I mean seriously, VERY good. The whole wheat crust is especially tasty, and they treat the thin crust right. The pizza pairings are creative and the execution is top notch. The only problem I have with this place is that every time I'm in there (which is often these days) the owner/manager is yelling at his staff. It sucks that he's being a dick to them, and it is not conducive to pleasurable dining. So go, enjoy the pizza which is delicious, and make sure to give the beleaguered staff an easy time.

Only been here once, but I plan to make it my new take out place once moving to hope st! First experience ...great! Chicken fantasy sald with extra grilled veggies was perfect! Dressing on side as requested. Service was great, so nice! It was very crowded with workers, wonder why so many? Perhaps the delivery, catering was busy that evening. But I can't wait to try pizza! And everything else

I've been here a few times and used a Groupon. The pizza is thin crust and you have the choice of wheat or wheat. We've always gotten the wheat. They have a lot of inventive pizzas you can choose from, or you can make your own. It's very tasty and I wouldn't hesitate to get takeout when in the area. The crust isn't as good once it gets cold. They also have the option of ordering your pizza take and bake. Word to the wise when ordering a large take and bake, don't assume it will fit in your oven! Lol. We got a large take and bake and had to cut it and cook half at a time. There is not a lot of seating if you choose to eat your pizza there.

  • Steph L.

I have to say, I have been turned into a regular. I have never had the pizza, but the sandwiches and wraps are amazing. I always have a caprese sandwich on the grilled wheat flatbread. I think out of about 50 (at least) times getting food I have had one experience where the sandwich wasn't to my liking. I am an extremely satisfied customer that will continue ordering as long as they are there. The only downfall is that they don't deliver to downtown, I know all the guests staying at the hotel I work for would order it!

Wow Pizza Gourmet wow. Great pizza. The first time I went I had a pizza with vodka sauce, tons of gooey cheese, and pepperoni which was delicious. We also ordered the Sesame chicken pizza that was so different, sesame sauce, chicken, broccoli, carrots, and other great veggies. We started with a pear and gorgonzola salad that was amazing the pineapple dressing seemed odd but was incredible. The place is nothing special, super small pizza place just a few small tables but enough to sit down and enjoy your amazing food. I also ran a 5k this weekend for Ronald McDonald house and Pizza Gourmet donated Margarita pizza which was perfect after a run even though it was cold, I ate far too much.

This place used to be a favorite but has really gone downhill of late. Incredibly greasy-- cheap cheese maybe?-- so salty and crust like cardboard. A bummer. Stick to Nice Slice.

Excellent, delicious, truly gourmet pizza - this place really lives up to its name. However, it loses a star for sub-par customer service. Our group ordered from here last night, and was: - put on hold for 20 minutes (we hung up) trying to find out how much the total was (b/c they had not told us when we ordered - forced to have a 5 minute conversation on how to navigate to the correct door of a large apartment complex. - saddened by the fact that the pizza really wasn't cut all the way through - forcing a short delay in getting to the deliciousness as we had to break out a knife and do the job ourselves. Could have just been a bad night, and maybe they'd earn that 4th star for dine-in. Still, these minor complaints are not enough to take away from what was very quality pizza - unlike your normal delivery.

Pizza was just okay. Gluten free crust was good, but barely any cheese or sauce. Veggies were super fresh though! Bf had the BBQ chicken pizza- sauce was very sweet, and crust was terrible. Not super impressed.

Have been here on multiple times since moving to Providence recently and living on the east side. To celebrate our new home and neighborhood we had a party and ordered 10-12 large pizzas of various kinds. The pizzas were all under done, chewy and soggy, which was a disappointment to us (and probably our large gathering of house guests!) A couple times we've been in for just a slice or two. And, other times we've ordered a pizza or two to pickup and take home (when I've been too tired to cook.) I wish the pizza was better, but we have tried them and haven't been satisfied more times than not. We would rather drive to Pizza Pie-er on Wickenden! My mouth is watering just thinking about their pizza!

Awesome surprise! Driving through Providence en route to Connecticut, we searched for local pizza joints and came across this place. We ordered the BBQ Chicken Pizza and Pear and Gorgonzola Pizza, each with wheat crust. Totally craving beers and we were bummed that The Pizza Gourmet doesn't serve alcohol. However, the owner directed us next door and told us to come back in about 15 minutes. 15 minutes turned into a half hour, as we ended up having 2 rounds. Oops. Luckily, the owner kept the pizzas warm for us! Simple gestures like this will ensure we come back. Oh, and the amazing pizza.

Ugh! I ordered delivery (I live about 3 minutes away from the place) and it took almost exactly an HOUR to get to me, by which time the pizza was FREEZING COLD. That's just sad. What a waste of $20. ETA: And after all that, it was barely edible cardboard. Yuck yuck yuck.

Hit or miss depending on what you pick. Pear/Gorg, Cajun, and BBQ Hawaiian pizzas are the best ones I've tried. Don't bother with the apps and pasta, this is a true pizza place.

Despite that I am actually closer to them now on Smith Hill then I was on the Eastside I was told the Pizza Gourmet only delivers on the Eastside. This just buys into the whole snobby Providence Eastside exclusivity thing. They just lost a good customer.

I was first introduced to this company through their pizzas at whole foods - sadly they don't sell them there anymore. Still, you can eat from this place one of a few ways: take home a cold pizza and cook at home, order and eat there, or get delivery. This is not the greasy pizza place around the corner - it is a much more refined pizza, and while the price does reflect this, I think it is totally worth it. I love the margarita pizza because of the addition of the balsamic drizzle at the end. They have a large selection of other combinations, many which look delicious, though I am always drawn back to the margarita. I have also built my own with the choice of white or wheat crust, 10 sauces, and many many toppings. The pink vodka sauce was yummy, and I'm ready to try out some of the others in the future. So take a break from the greasy pizza and take a yummy bite of some gourmet pizza for once.

What do I say about the Pizza Gourmet? They have all the right ingredients for a fantastic gourmet pizza. The crust is absolutely wonderful, the sauce tasty, the toppings good quality. I even kind of like the square slices, since they're smaller and it allows me to regulate how much I take in :) It's the assembly that bothers me. the pie looks like a piece of modern art, and not in a good way. It's like they were upset with me and decided to half ass make a pizza - everything on it - the sauce, the cheese, and the other toppings were thrown on in big splotches. When I want pizza I want to taste crust, sauce, and cheese in my mouth and all at the same time. I do NOT want a mouthful of sauce and nothing else, even if that sauce is good. A pizza is a delicate balance between all its components; you can have too much of a good thing. From what I now understand this is normal for their pies, so they weren't just upset with me for using a restaurant.com coupon. Anyway, if that sounds up your alley then you might enjoy the Pizza Gourmet. If you want balance in your pizza, then you're better off elsewhere. Also, the gorgonzola dipping sauce is rubbish (cheap, but rubbish). perhaps it was stored in a room together with gorgonzola, but it mostly tastes and feels like cream cheese and white flour. Their homemade dipping wedges are basically extra salted slices of the pizza crust... so it's good, just really salty.

I'm a regular to this place and I have to say that they have some pretty good deals for what you pay. I guarantee you will be full. The servings at this place are ridiculous and the food is really good too. Their signature pizza "the Margarita" is probably my favorite and I would recommend it. Great taste, nice crust and good proportions. Other than their great pizzas, they have a nice selection of pastas and sandwiches. Sandwiches come in wraps, flat bread, or my favorite, the focaccia bread. My top sandwiches would be the Chicken Pesto and the Turkey Breast, which are the only ones I think are decent in size. My only comment for not giving it a 5 star rating would the quality of service. For me has been great because I come often, but on occasions before they have messed up my order and I've seen people get a little bit frustrated with them, so that's that. In any case, Definitely give it a shot to this place. You would either like it, or really love it

If you want to try THE most unbelievable wood grilled pizza, you need to try this place!!! Margarita and old school are my faves! They just came out with a gluten free crust, I've heard it's good-I haven't had it yet. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed!!

Pizza Gourmet is alright pizza........they put more cheese on the pizza than Pizza- Pier.....the Pizza Margarita is ok -- nothing special....... I like the fact you can get a small pizza for $9.99....its actually a medium pizza.......Also, they deliver when its snowing alot...... I wish PG had Portuguese Linguica/churico sausage toppings....... I guess i will not keep on ordering from them......not to many good choices around my house......I wish Caserta's delivered......

I really like the pizza gourmet. They have a fantastic catering menu if you need to order for a large group, and their pastas and salads are really good. I also really like the pizza - it is a grilled style crust, with thick chunks of tomato and lots of fresh cheese. The "old school" has tons of meat on it and the sausage is thick. It is not your typical new york style crust like nice slice or antonios, but I prefer it over pizza pie-er and I think the prices are more reasonable. Plus you can almost always get a restaurant.com coupon!

I went in for a slice because I was starving, it's close to my home and I do not care for Tortilla Flats which is next door. I was not expecting: THE BEST PIZZA I HAVE EVER HAD (since I visited Naples). I'm serious- I had a plain Margherita (cheese) pizza, on my first bite, my mouth melted. It was unbelievable. The guys working were great, small little pizza-shop vibe. Oh, they only charge credit cards for over $10 (which could be hard if you're on your own, considering how reasonable their prices are, I had 2 slices for $5.50 and a free coke). Let me say it again- BEST pizza I have had outside Italy.

  • Chad P.

My wife and I moved to Providence in August and we eat pizza about once a week. I will echo Justin B.'s sentiment and agree that there are plenty of "mediocre" pizza joints in this area. The Pizza Gourmet is not one of them. Creative concoctions, a great thin crust, friendly staff. If I could take half of a star away I might, just because it can be kind of pricey. Then again, three of the times we ordered from PG we had a Groupon or something from restaurant.com . If you can find a deal like that this place is a must-try.

  • Mark S.

Don't let the prices turn you off. The pizzas are freaking huge and delicious with fresh ingredients. The sandwiches are enormous as well. You could easily split one between 2 people and they are served with a side and huge pickle. The salads are good too. For sandwiches try the buffalo chicken, tuna melt and italian grinder. Sometimes delivery take a long time so you might be better off getting take out or dine in.

Not your average pizza as the name says and while many other Yelpers gave them high marks my one experience wasn't particularly great. I would take it with a grain of salt considering the majority of reviews. However, when I arrived it wasn't particularly busy (mid-afternoon) but they seemed more interested in talking to one another than helping me. Not a big deal but certainly can be annoying. The pizza was good but being from the NYC area I feel my opinion is a bit skewed. I've definitely had better gourmet pizza in NYC so I wasn't all that impressed. It's still very good but don't think they're as good as maybe some others (especially the locals) think. I really do like the addition of being able to bring a cold pizza home. If I lived here I'd definitely like that.

I have been getting takeout from here almost weekly for the last 3 years. They have always had a little bit of a problem putting orders together correctly. Salads without olives would have olives on them, salad with grilled chicken added would not come with chicken, pizza toppings missing, For a while I gave them the benefit of the doubt because I live close and enjoyed the food. However, literally the last 5 times I've ordered food from them the order has been messed up. Tonight was the final straw...the Pear and Gorgonzola salad was missing the Gorgonzola- the salad's namesake. I called to let them know and waited for 4 minutes for the manager to come on the line and at that point I hung up and decided we would find another weekly pizza place. On average we order a large specialty pizza at $20, a specialty salad with grilled chicken added at $11, and a Garden salad at $6. We eat there about 3 times per month equalling approximately $1300/year...see ya later Pizza Gourmet.

I have ordered from this place multiple times before and I thought the food was really good. However, the other night I ordered from there and I was scolded by what I presume to be the owner for not picking up my pizza in time. I am not kidding! This rude man shamed me right in front of other customers because it took me 40 min to get there and my order was ready in 20 min. This was after they accidentally charged my credit card too much and then took forever to correct the issue. Not impressed with the customer service. The food is way over priced! I will never order from them again, and I will be sure to tell everyone I know not to eat there too.

Went here because of a Groupon. The service was friendly but the pizza was not very good. I used to think pizza couldn't be bad, but this was a pretty bad pizza. The toppings were generous but bland and the crust was just awful. Tough, doughy, chewy, blech. I gave it a second shot on the leftover test and it was even worse then. Not going back.

I was not hungry after a long walk, but my cousin said I had to try a slice. I said no thanks. He insisted with a look that said this pizza was a deeply meaningful part of his life and something I could not miss on my first visit to Providence. Wow! Wow! Wow! That's a triple wow. Got the Simple Peasant. First, I didn't know I could love whole wheat crust. Second, Asiago and Parmesan on pizza is a divine discovery. And last and most mouth-wateringly exciting, was the sauce. In the Italian tradition, this stuff should be called gravy! It's their Pomodoro, which they describe as "super fresh marinara sauce, fresh herbs." For my taste, absolutely perfect! They must choose their garlic lovingly, as it was subtle with no bitterness. The pizza was served burn-your-mouth hot and crispy with fresh parsley - a wonderful touch. And here's a real stroke of genius I'd never encountered before. The sauce is spread in decorative circles on top of the cheese, not mixed together, so it begs to be savored and appreciated! One generous slice - plenty for a meal! Best pizza I ever had in NY, NJ or anywhere!

service is lacking, orders are often messed up/wrong. They say they deliver but sometimes they say they don't, they are rude and don't seem to care about customer service. If it weren't for my rest. com gc I would not order from them. The pizza is ok, nothing great especially in this state where we have so many options and deliveries. The sandwiches sound promising but often disappoint and the bread to ingredient ratio is off, much more bread than ingredients. They aren't bad (per say), just disappointing... you'll be fine.. quite a few bucks later!

This place has some of the best pizza on Hope St. Don't rate on "service," it's a small pizza place not Morton's. I've tasted about 4-5 of their specialties. They are all good.

This place was outstanding. I ordered the loaded potato skins, pesto chicken salad and 2 take and bake pizzas (which I will update this review after I put one in the oven). Those loaded potato skins were sinfully good!!!! I'm glad I worked out before I got there and then later walked around Providence Place to work off the rest. I loved those things. There were potato slices with cheese, Gorgonzola, bacon, I think someone else was on it. I can't remember. You can see the oil piled on these things. They were fantastic. Potatoes, cheese, bacon, whatever I think that qualifies under Paleo,I just had to work out a bit harder the next day. I brought the sandwich home and split it with my sister. She kept asking me where this place was,she loved it. That sandwich was awesome!!! I have nothing bad to say about this place. I wish they did give more macaroni salad with the sandwich, because that was awesome too. I was impressed. I will definitely be back.

The only thing this place has going for it is that I live across the street. For starters, you have to play 20 questions when you order. What kind of sauce? What kind of crust? For here or to go? Is that take and bake? etc, etc, etc.... Take and bake: They seem so proud of this concept, and I just don't get it. The whole purpose of ordering a pizza is because you don't want to cook. I fail to see how my apartment's oven is better than a professional pizza oven. I've had their sandwiches a couple times, and the bread to meat ratio is way off. It was a few slices of meat on a gigantic, chewy, untoasted roll.

    (2)
  • Jason S.

Their meatball sandwiches are great! The bread is also excellent. And to top it off, they throw in free stuff sometimes - cookies on Friday, great soup when I visited today (a Thursday). They also have really great homemade potato chips. The price is a little high for the sandwich, but it's enough for two meals, which makes it cheap, especially for the quality. Highly recommended.

  • Earl G.

If I could give this place a 3.5 I would. First, their white pizza on wheat dough was VERY tasty. They had some cool mix and match options and even packages where you take the pizza home and bake it yourself. My only beef with them that they were expensive $9.99 for a small, and the small was pretty small.

I was surprised to see so many average or bad reviews. I ate there last night with my fiance. I had a groupon so we were able to try a few things with out spending to much. We split a caprese salad, Asian wings, and the Quattro mushroom pizza. I'd get the quattro pizza again for sure,. The salad was large enough to split, excellent quality ingredients, and the balsamic vinagrette/reduction was perfect. Wings were middle of the road. Tasty but not mind blowing, admittedly I'm a wing snob so my expectations are usually far above and beyond most others. In the end everything was very good. The service was excellent as well, both guys behind the counter were extremely attentive and checked in on us two or three times, but most importantly at appropriate times, which is a lost art in the service industry these days. We just moved to the summit neighborhood and we definitely plan on coming back often. Only negative was no bathroom or wet naps. Sticky Asian wing sauce as expected got everywhere, comes with the territory of eating wings but it eventually turns to glue with your napkin. Take that out of the equation and I'd probably give it 5 stars. Give it a try, dint let a 1 star rating about delivery issues from someone that admittedly lives 3 minutes away(looking at you leslie n.) sway you in the wrong direction.

  • Emlyn A.

I order 2 small pizzas for pick up. They say 20 minutes. I get there after 20 minutes and wait for a further half hour before the cook tells the girl that my order has been sitting on top of one of an over for...well, who knows how long. So I leave with my order, get home and find that both pizzas are actually lukewarm. Great. It doesn't matter how great your ingredients are: If your service sucks, your product sucks. (I give them 2 stars instead of 1 because their pizza actually tries to be good. Too bad about their service.)

I love the pizza here, and I used to love the catering business they also have on the side, but I am now very dissapointed with their service. Have been a loyal customer for 3 years, ordering pizza tons and catering at least once a year (plus referring to friends). I called 3 times to request the holiday catering menu and never received it. Since the website is basically non-functional, I went in to the Pizza Gourmet to make my order and the manager turned her back on me while I was talking and then told me she could'nt take my catering order, and later back tracked that she would fax it over to the catereing staff. Well, they lost my business becuase I am not willing to chase someone down to spend my money, and that money went to whole foods. Will never attempt to place a catering order with them again, but probably will order pizza.

First impression: Ordered pickup, but ignored for two minutes when I first walked in (-1 star). Whoops. The food: Very tasty thin crust pizza. Went with the Barbecued Chicken and the Margarita (they need some spelling help). Great ingredients, great pizza. Also got the fresh flat bread chips with some sun dried tomato pesto dip. Absolutely delicious. Pasta and sandwiches (although not tested) sound equally delicious. The atmosphere: Nice inside, not much of a place to sit and eat but a few small tables. Slices available. Other notes: A bit on the pricy side, but probably worth it!

Stopped in here and picked up a pasta dish, salad and sandwich to go. The pasta was okay, but seemed expensive for what you got. The salad was decent but the sandwich was just so-so. The pasta (according to the menu) was to come with a side of bread, which was missing. The staff seemed rather disinterested service-wise. Of course, some people dropped in who seemed to be friends and the cook was more than happy to come out of the kitchen to chat.

Located next to the Flats! Great sandwiches and pizza. They have prepared pizza in the fridge for you to buy and cook at home! I like the wraps best. A bit over priced but still worth it.

I've eaten here once. Their pizza was better than the average pie, but for $20 for a large, it should be. Despite what I read here, the service was good. Nice guy who offered his opinion about what to order and was very attentive.

I always get the Simple Peasant Pizza which is really good. This is a premium pizza place so expect to pay more than a "normal" pizza place. I live a block away so I go here a lot. There are so many options: type of crust, sauces, toppings.

I give this place 2 stars, only because I might come back for a second try. I ordered the quattro mushroom pizza.it is supposed to have truffle oil, plus 4 types of mushrooms, and sweet red onions and blue cheese. Well, what I GOT was a round circle of bread, tons of parm cheese with a little mozzerella and blue cheese, really yummy roasted garlic chunks and sauteed sweet red onions, a single tomato cut into big chunks all over pizza and only TWO types of mushrooms. I could be wrong-maybe shitake and portabello mushrooms look identical...and maybe oyster and crimini look exactly the same with no distinguishing differences between them. That is a big stretch though, so I will just say this thing should be called "deux mushroom pizza". Geeze-I would still order it even if it was advertised only 2 types of mushrooms. Most places only have one type. Geeze. Stop being stingy, pizza gourmet! The pizza tastes like rubbery parmesean...just a hint of blue cheese, and only a taste of whatever sparse topping you bite into. There was no flavor of truffle oil, or mushrooms in general-huge let down. I was actually afraid it might have too strong a mushroom taste but it definately did not. "Gourmet" is a joke...there was a smidge of parsley on my pizza. not enough to make a difference. The toppings are ridiculously under portioned. My pizza was ice cold...I took it home and heated it up.so maybe that affected the crust, but when I ate a slice luke warm on my way home, it was hard and chewy. When I heated it up at home, it was soft, but still chewy. I was pretty pissed that my pizza was "dry"-as in, no sauce. I was really expecting the pomodoro sauce underneath the gorgonzola cheese.... if you aren't gonna put sauce, at least put more than one cut up tomato on a large pizza that I just paid 21 bucks for. Seriously. I give this place 2 stars because it is not the worst pizza I've had...it certainly is better than tommys and fellini's...so, it deserves more than one star for that reason. i give this place a second star because even though there was a pitiful amount of toppings on this pizza, they were pretty good. Few things beat cooked veggies on a pizza...They cooked the onions, mushroom and the garlic, while adding fresh tomato. Albeit, the pizza in general was disgusting, I really think it was the pizza maker's fault. So maybe I'll come back, order a different pie, and do it on a different day, at a different shift....and hopefully it will not be burned on some parts like this one way. I hate the over powering flavor that a charred crust adds to the pizza. Also, there is nowhere to sit down in this place...well, there are 4 flimsy looking stools...I wouldn't trust them to support more than 60 pounds of weight though.

I've been walking by this pizza place for several years now, being tantalized by the great smells, and finally decided to order something. The pizza was really good; the crust was thin and tasty, and the cheese had a lot of flavor. The toppings were very good as well. Yes, it may be more expensive, but it's a really good pizza. Other reviews mentioned a long wait time, but we called ahead, were told a thirty minute wait, and the pizza was ready then. This was around seven on a Saturday night.

I am writing this review because I am seriously disappointed with the pizza I got from the Pizza Gourmet., although I also ordered the potato skins, which were just ok. They basically were embedded in a disk of cheese, and had pepperoni in addition to bacon, poor presentation and excessive ingredients. The pizza I ordered was the Quattro Mushroom pizza. Proposing to have four different types of mushrooms and whole cloves of garlic this pizza seemed like it had some serious promise, along with a serious price, 19 bucks for a large. It being a white pizza and me being a glutton, I asked for a side of red sauce, in their case they had pomodoro sauce, I would have preferred marinara, but I guess they ASSUMED it was for the potato skins, not the SAUCEless pizza. Oh well no harm done, except that the helpless worker squashed the potato skins by putting the two sauce containers in potato skins container, and charged me a buck fifty for them. And yet again disappointed by the fact that it seemed the only ingredients in the sauce were sugar and canned tomatoes, bland and way to sweet. SO now for the pizza, yes if you can believe it I am actually going to get to the point. The pizza only had 2 OUT OF 4 of the varieties of mushrooms promised. All i could taste was the excess of whole garlic cloves and yellow onions, and of course the gorgonzola cheese. The pizza didn't taste like mushrooms at all. I gave you a chance Pizza Gourmet, and you blew it.

The pizza tastes funny but the Italian grinder on Focaccia is to die for.

Up until recently I would have given this place 5 stars, but the last two pizzas I've ordered have been absolutely terrible. Not sure if the ownership has changed, but its bad. Swimming in piles of cheese both times, two different types of pizza. Way overkill with the toppings, and worst of all, both times wet and soggy. Kind of disgusting. The one good thing is the salads. Compared to most pizza places, they are always fresh with nice produce. Maybe try it if you're just getting a salad, but no thanks to the pizza.
