Great service and great sandwiches! My boyfriend wanted jersey mikes, but I insisted we go here because I'm all about supporting local, family owned businesses. He was not disappointed and neither was I. A+ for flexibility with ordering. You can put whatever you want on your sandwich! And for a reasonable price! $13 for two medium subs. One roast beef, turkey and bacon. And the other turkey and salami. We will be back :)

Ugly inside, ugly outside but who cares with sandwhiches like these!!!? Best subs ever, hands down. HUGE, cheap and fast... "baby that's all we need" (Afroman voice). My go to: steak bomb or turkey and cheese.

Amazing 70s sub shop the girls are always nice and everyone is very efficient this is where you want to eat!
(5)Melissa P.
This place is the place to go for plow truck drivers, anyone on the road making a delivery, Construction guys, and they know where the best eats are. Looking forward to eating there again soon. I had a medium Italian grinder today.

First time here, stopped in for lunch and having a medium deluxe Italian grinder. It's awesome, cant beat the price for a good sized sandwich! Check this place out.
(5)Geo S.
Love this place for a sub! Who needs that $5 footlong place when you have a Riccotti's in the neighborhood!!
(5)Sean M.
Great sandwiches, always made perfect and delish. Love the cheeseburger grinder, chicken and tuna salad always good. Service is wonderful and prices are low.

Ricotti's is one of those places that doesn't need any kind of update to their very much outdated decor (think 70s) because their sandwiches are that good. I rotate between a few usually: steak and cheese, tuna salad (best in the state, hands down), chicken salad, or a hamburger sub. Their Italian is obviously amazing as well. Also, they still offer Sm, Med, and Large sizes (most places nowadays only have Sm and Large) and their prices are cheap. Best sandwiches in the state!
(5)Albert S.
Hands down, the best sandwich I've ever had! The tuna is absolutely amazing!! I had it with pickles, cucumbers and lettuce on it, because, come on, you need a little crunch sometimes. The prices are very affordable. Don't order the large and expect to finish it by yourself. I ordered a small and felt very satisfied after. They make hot sandwiches as well, which I'll be trying on my next visit. They only take cash so make sure to stop at the ATM before you head on over. Definitely a hidden gem! Go and check it out!! You won't be disappointed!

I grew up on Ricotti's in the 70's and I still love it in 2015.

Oh mama. I feel like I walked into the 70s, prices and all! Amazing, amazing sandwiches. I was greeted by a young lady who informed me she had been working there for ten years. Wow. Guess that's a good sign. I asked her what's good and she emphatically promoted the tuna. I wasn't even in the mood for tuna, I never order tuna, but her excitement sold me on it. Boy, was I happy about this choice. This is the best tuna sub I've ever consumed. Also tried the Italian deluxe -- delicious. Julienne salad, the same. A "small" sandwich ran me about $4 and was more than enough for a meal. Super great deal and great freshness. I have become an instant regular!

Don't let the look of the place fool you. It's a small place, cash only and it gets packed! This is my all time favorite sub shop. Great service and the food is just amazing! Nothing over the top, just good quality food and the prices are great. When I want a sub, this is my go to.. always satisfied, never disappointed.

70's Sandwich Shop I love Ricotti's, always have always will. Let's break it down simply, the place is dump, but your not going there for ambiance. Your going there for a great sub and you should get it. My favorites are the BLT, Steak Cheese and Onions, and the "Cabba Gool" with provolone. The staff is always amazing busy or not and these people can churn out a lot of sandwiches fast. Lastly, the owner, I don't know his name, but every time I go in I get a big hello and I'm asked how I am. If you go here a few times you'll feel like a regular. Tip: Grab a few 26 inch sandwiches for a party, they're awesome, 12 bucks what a deal! I hope Ricotti's is around forever. Thanks

They nail it every time!! If you want a true taste of a RI grinder, come here!!!! They make the best GRINDA'S, around!!!!
(5)Stephen D.
Good sandwiches, but facility needs an upgrade. Old and rundown a bit, perhaps paint, new counter tops and floor would help. Aside from the cosmetics downfall the service was good and food was good. On the same par as a D'Angelos.

My wife is from Providence area and every time I visit the in laws I make it a point to go to Ricottis. Why? Because they got the best subs/grinders/hoagies/heros or whatever you like to call them. I always get the deluxe Italian and am never disappointed. This place has been around for decades and it isn't hard to see why: they deliver consistently delicious food at a bargain price.

Driven past this place MAYBE a million times. Happy to finally visit. This is a supreme alternative to any sandwich place that I've been to in as long as I can remember. This is very reminiscent of my FAVORITE sandwich joint in Austin (Thundercloud Subs). The inside is very bare-bones, but I think that's showing the focus on the food and the customer interaction. The employee that I spoke to was very kind, was younger and was helpful giving recommendations on food and was knowledgeable about what was on my sandwich and got to making it immediately. The manager/owner came out and we struck up some cheap conversation and he was nice enough to strike out the cost of the soda that I ordered which, even as a small gesture, was very kind. The sandwich came out to $8.00 or so as I got a large and, Jesus Christ, this sandwich was huge. I was astounded as I paid no attention while they made it. I got home nearby and started working on it and it was very delicious. It was all very fresh tasting, well organized on the bread (not spilling out everywhere) and very nice quantities/ratio of the meat, cheese, and additional toppings. The most impressive bit for me was the bread. It was very fresh, very tasty, and was a perfect compliment to the wonderful toppings inside the sandwich. For the cost, the proximity and the kindness of the employees, I fully intend to go to this joint far too many times.

Decided to try the Italian grinder based on the reviews. I walked in and couldn't figure out where the line started. Finally ordered my Italian grinder and the lady didn't ask if I wanted cheese so I told her I didn't want cheese or oil and vinegar. She asked if I wanted hot peppers and I said yes. She didn't even ask if I wanted yet heated. I paid for my sandwich and left. I started eating my sandwich and the cold cuts for sure were not boars head they didn't taste good at all. The sandwich only had two meats mortadella and salami. It had cheese when I said no cheese and it had oil and vinegar when I said no oil and vinegar. She didn't even put the hot peppers I wanted. She didn't listen to anything I said and they had like 7 workers so she didn't have to rush. Basically it didn't taste good at all and I couldn't even finish the sandwich. Will never go back. The inside was so old looking it matches the taste of their sandwich. Don't mean to be rude but I was looking forward to an Italian sandwich.

Been coming her for years!! Great prices, great bread, unbelievable tuna!! May be a little out dated but look past it, it's worth it.. Trust me! Plan on smelling like the food when u leave though!!
(5)Jocelyn K.
I had the deluxe Italian sub. Super fresh bread, veggies, genoa salami, capicola, and pepperoni. Absolutely delicious!!! Just a heads up....it's cash only!
(5)David A.
Love the subs here every time. Steak and cheese and the Ham and cheese subs are BANGIN'! The large subs are HUGE and they are very well priced. Keep it up guys. Everyone has been right about this place, it rocks!
(4)Ryan B.
Oh yeah, this place is a stoner's paradise where your average grinder goes by the wayside replaced by a Hulk size mountain of meat and cheese. This sandwich will dwarf all others... you've been warned.
(4)Laura L.
My order hasn't changed in 15 years. Medium deluxe italian with tomatoes, hots, onions, oil and vinegar. This sandwich hits the spot every time, and is washed down perfectly by an ice cold coffee milk. Don't bother coming here without cash, an unfortunate mistake I've made more than once.
(4)Timothy M.
Love the subs here! However I do mostly stick to my steak and cheese with pickles and lettuce and nobody does it better! My wife had tried the Italian sub here and although she said it wasn't the best Italian she's ever had, she was still impressed. I do need to try their Italian because it looks so good; it's just so hard to say no to a steak and cheese any time I'm here. And and did I mention the subs are only like 7 bucks!? Incredible deal. However, leave your debit cards at home because they only take cash.
(5)Erin N.
I love this locally owned sandwich shop! If you're just looking for a small snack to fill a hole, than you are in the wrong place. The subs are HUGE, and the prices are small. The owners are honest and price fairly. If I am correct they still only except cash at a few of their locations so be prepared. I recommend the tuna grinder. Excellent!

I've been coming here for 35 years. During that time I never had a mix up, never got sick from the food and it was always delicious, good portions and reasonably priced. Today was a different story though. I ordered a cheeseburger grinder and it looked like it was thrown on the floor when I opened it at home. The hamburger was overcooked, and upside down in the bun. The bun and toppings were mangled and coming out of the bun and all over the wrapping paper. I drove back in a few minutes in disgust. I showed the sandwich to one of the other cashiers, and asked for my money back. I was surprised to not be given an apology. I told them I'll be going to Burger King where at least the presentation will be good. I ordered a Double Whopper with Cheese for 60 cents more than the Ricotti's sandwich but it looked good and tasted decent. I won't be going back to Ricotti's for a long. Pros: Big portions. Cons: Sloppy presentation, staff are occasionally unpleasant.

Def not a place you would stop at based on appearance. Excellent sandwiches.
(4)Penelope L.
I'm really surprised by the bad reviews that I'm reading here. Good information, however. I never order the hot sandwiches. Only the cold ones. Ham & swiss is my favorite. Bread and vegetables always seem fresh. I absolutely love this place and the prices are incredible. Sorry that the hot sandwich fans are not pleased. Riccotti's needs to work on that.
(4)Tess W.
Not happy! Hot meatball sandwich was full of meatballs that were about to or had turned the corner. They made a fast, noisy exit from my life. I still gave them 2 stars for the other choices that are still good. Steer clear of the meatballs. Ill go to Ronzio next time for a hot meatball.

Unchanged on the inside since it opened. Nothing fancy, but superb sandwiches and friendly service! Always fresh, always delicious!
(5)Seth S.
Awesome local sandwich shop with great people and great prices. Highly recommend their hot pastrami!
(5)Christian H.
Been going since 1989. The best sandwich shop to exist! Steve and Janice, best and most incredible owners. Dont go anywhere else! B-)

Nearly died and went to mediocrity! I usually order a sandwich and run but today 5 workers were moving at a glacial pace to make me a "steak supreme" when I ordered "steak and cheese." When I notified the little fair-haired boy wonder of the mix up he looked utterly confused. So he made a new sandwich and when I got it home, silly me....do I have to order a steak and cheese and babysit to ensure the cheese. It was a dry steak sandwich and after 10 loyal years I won't be back. They hire inexperienced children who can't get a simple order right. Luckily, I had cheese at home! Who knew this could happen?
(1)Kathy S.
Always fresh and made fast if you go early in the afternoon. The best crab grinder!
(5)Faith R.
My husband orders his picky steak grinder after 12 hours work every Sunday. It's always done right, hot and rdy when he gets there. The staff is super friendly too!
(5)Carlos L.
This is the classic sandwich shop. I still remember eating at the 6 corners shop in East Providence back in the last 70ths before watching it burn down it was very saddening. Now I eat here. The large steak and cheese is my go to sandwich. Always good and the girls are always friendly. Don't forget to tip them
(5)Erin O.
As I'm writing this review, I feel the sudden urge to run to Riccotti's, like ASAP! I have to say this, but it goes against all my diet rules but their steak and cheese is hands down my all-time favorite! It isn't greasy and cooked right in front of you. Their chicken soup isn't bad either. I can't vouch for any of these other items, because the only reason I go there is for a steak and cheese! If you are in the mood for some good comfort, bad for you food, that is amazing, head to Riccotti's!

I love the Italian grinders ,steaks and the best tuna sandwiches here prices never seem to go up but if they do you can't tell.
