Yeah. I love them. We walk in to bright, happy, jovial faces. The place is well lit and clean (the dish buckets at the sanitation area can attract fruit flys but I could care less. It's less waste). The food layout is simple. I got Brest/wing/thigh with coleslaw and a roll for 6.99. Also yucca fries. The chicken was well seasoned, ridiculously juicy (like a flavor spigot) and Krispy to the point of physics defiance. The coleslaw was well dressed, not overly sweet, a tiny ghost of heat and green bell peppers. I'm a fan! Yucca fries were crispy and almost creamy. The roll had a pinch of salt. Yummy. I had a giant orange soda with it. I will return. I do recommend.

I was just saying yesterday that I considered fried chicken a gateway drug. And here I sit, with a mistaken order of fried chicken. I was psyched to try pollo Campero but my grilled chicken some how didn't get to me. It was take out. Returning it wasn't possible, and I decided why not. Pretty greasy and over cooked. Beans tasted kind of chemically. The smoke flavor in the rice I found to be too strong. I MIGHT try it again? But my stomach isn't too happy with me tonight.

We saw an ad in the paper and decided to give this place a try. Driving down Atwells on a Saturday night was a bad start to the experience (not their fault). When I arrived there was only one family in front of me. Somehow it took the one cashier 10 minutes to ring them up. There is definitely no sense of urgency here! When I finally got to order I asked (based on my wait) if the grilled chicken was readily available. At first the girl said "oh no, that's going to take a long time!" She then turned around and said "wait, we actually have one ready." I said "Sold!!" Even though they are slow she was extremely friendly. Now to the good part. When I arrived home we were very happy with the seasoning. The chicken had a fantastic rub. The beans were full of flavor and the tortillas were muy Bueno!! If this place was easier to get to and faster on the order I would have given it an extra star. That being said, I will definitely give it another try. To anyone that has lived in or visited Northern California, this place reminds me of El Pollo Loco which is a great spot!

Delicious chicken here! I got the Citrus Grilled Chicken Bowl and downed it with the horchata drink. Yum!!! I would've given 4 stars if not for the unfriendly and impatient staff. I went in on a busy day last Thursday. Line at the counter was like 8 people deep. When it was my turn, the man took my order in an unfriendly way. I felt rushed. He's lucky I understood his heavily-accented English or I would've clucked my tongue.

For fast food this place is pretty good, but for what they specialize in (fried chicken) I think they are just ok. First off the interior was bright and colorful and super clean. The staff was really nice and helpful. This was my first time, but my husband's third, and we both got fried chicken with yucca fries, campero beans, and cole slaw. The fried chicken was just ok. I have a serious problem when it comes to fried chicken (as in, I would choose it for my last meal on this earth) and I didn't really like it there. It was super greasy and just didn't have any crunch or real flavor to it. I enjoyed my camero beans, hub's cole slaw was yummy, and the yucca fries were totally delicious. I keep hearing the grilled chicken is good, so I'd go back to try it, but I wouldn't order the fried chicken again.

Ya, Pollo Campero is a fast food chain restaurant, but HECK YA is it good fast food. I don't pretend to know what the heck they do to that chicken, all I can say is it doesn't taste like fast food even though I'm picking it up within 2 minutes. My go-to is the grilled chicken with yuca fries which is very flavorful (don't forget to squeeze that lime they give you on the chicken. yum).

One of my coworkers was going here so I tagged along to try it, a first for both of us. The staff was slow...my lunch break was over before we even received our food. Extremely overpriced...1/2 chicken with plantains and Flan for dessert...$.30 shy of $15!! Absolutely ridiculous for fast food!! When I sat down to eat, the chicken was tasteless and kind of rubbery, portion was small, plantains were good, Flan... for $3...was smaller than a pudding cup and not much flavor there either. Wanted to try something different but I guess I'll stick with Boston Market where I can get a 1/2 chicken dinner with 2 sides that is tasty for under $9.

I am of Caribbean decent so I was excited when I heard that this place opened not too far from me. I love grilled chicken and a variety of Central/South American food/flavers. I was hoping that this would be something like the grilled Mexican chicken or maybe like Pollo Tropical (chain restaurant in So. Florida). Nope. Sorry to say, the grilled chicken fell flat. Flavor was very flat for "citrus grilled chicken". Not to mention the chicken was a little dry. We also got the fried chicken was better & more flavorful. But nothing that I would go out of my way to get. The yuca/plantain was good (hard to mess those up anyway). I didn't try the rice/beans. I also forgot to ask for the Campero sauce...maybe that would have added some more flavor? The staff was friendly, the eating area and bathroom were clean and it's easy to get to. To sum up, if I was in the area and needed to grab something I would go there before McDonalds/BK but I won't make a special trip there like I did today.

The grill citrus chicken was very very good! I also had the fried plantains. Nice and soft and very sweet just as they should be. My husband seemed very happy with his fried chicken. I happened to try his yucca fries and they where cold which sucked because who wants to eat something that's fried cold. That being said they where still yummy. Just cold ugh. For that -1 star

Love their grilled chicken...moist, tasty, plump, great seasonings...a bit salty for my taste, but definitely a great dish. Got the plantains, rice campero, and two empanadas. Everything was just delicious and cheap.

Yessss, I finally managed to try out this place. I would have done it sooner but the lines out the door were too long after it opened. And with good reason. Pollo Campero is the Central American answer to the KFC complex. While their fried chicken is nice, what they're really renowned for is their grilled chicken. Have I had better chicken? Sure. But the chicken here is exquisitely spiced with latin flavor, it has the right level of moisture and just tastes plain good. What truly pushes it over the top are the sides. Avoid the mashed potatoes and go for the fun stuff like the cilantro infused campero beans. I'm also happy for being introduced to Yucca fries, a light but starchy alternative to regular fries. Whether grilled or fried, what's not to love about chicken with great sides?

The roasted chicken with fried yuca is delicious. The chicken was highly flavorful and moist while the yuca was piping hot, crispy and delightful. They lose a star because I ordered and was charged a 3 piece meal and only recieved 2 . So please check your box on your 2go order. I only realized this when I got home. Also fyi the neighborhood is in the hood. Still I cant wait to return again!

I, too, had to wait a few weeks for the initial crowds to lessen. The chicken is nicely seasoned and very moist, the yuca fries are lightly fried and delicious , and you can sit down, be served, and have a real plate and silverware. Service is friendly. Nice fast food option'
