Pearl would not typically be on my radar for the same reason as I do not watch Jersey shore or go to anywhere (other than Venda) on The Hill. Prior Yelp reviews made me very fearful of what type of service I would receive. I was pleasantly surprised. It started with my reservation. We were going to Pearl to listen to some live music (Miss Wensday - check her out), our reservations were at 7pm; just a few minutes before she was set to start. The host warned us that the lounge would busy as all guests were arriving at around the same time so there might be a delay in food service. The decor of Pearl would fit better in Miami rather than Charles Street Providence and although that may sound ghastly, I actually thought it was a well designed and thought out use of space. The area is split into sections; the lounge where we sat for the music was a great location to see Miss Wensday. Beyond that you have the "white room "china room" & the outside bar. I could imagine that this set up might attract many itali-wanna-be characters, however I would love to have an event there..happy birthday to me! Our server for the evening was awesome. Though it did take a little bit to get our drinks and food, the fact we had been warned of this meant that we planned accordingly...drink getting low, time to reorder. We had the sushi; it was good, there are better places in town to get sushi, however for a lounge, it was very tasty. Once we saw what some of the other tables got we decided we have to come back for the steak frites...looked delicious. I would say Pearl is a strong 3.5 to 4 star. I can't imagine going to just hang out at their bar, not really my scene; however I will check them out when they have live music in the lounge

Credit where credit is due- a shift in management seems to have breathed new life into this space. While the decor is decidedly over the top, it seems less obnoxious than it used to. The crowd - older, slightly more sophisticated and definitely less Ed Hardy than when I was last dragged to this spot. The night we went it was mellow, ambient funk hop and craft cocktails with sexy wait staff and only a touch of "Blowout looking right, kid!" Pearl done did stepped its game up with improved music, clientele and the overall feel was more polished and less fuckfacey than I remembered it. I dont live in Lil Peezy anymore, but if I were to, I can actually envision coming here.

Half price on all food on Wednesdays is a great deal! They make up the other half on drinks, which are not cheap, LOL. But the food is very good. The crab cakes are really good and the filet mignon has been great both times I tried it! Service was really good both times I've been as well.

Pearl has definitely gone downhill. The bartenders and servers are terrible at night, they take forever to get anything you ask (they've forgotten a couple of my orders too), and the girls are just rude. The owner has a bad reputation, you can tell everyone is just there to make money and not to be of service. There aren't too many other places around Providence but you should avoid Pearl like the plague!!

Well... I'm not quite sure where to start. Pearl is not what I expected from the Groupon pictures that we're available when I purchased it. I walked into the front door of a Jersey Shore-esque night club and was immediately aware that I had been duped. There was no one there at 5:00 on a Wednesday and I was about to turn around and leave. I'm glad I didn't. Apparently, Wednesday is half-price festapalooza! Instead of using the Groupon, we ordered BBQ pizza (very tasty, medium crust thickness, freshly grilled) and chicken tacos (very eclectic, well displayed), a Diet Coke and mixed drink. A $23 bill wasn't bad! We'll save the Groupon for next time. The entrees looked very good, and if the apps were any reflection on the rest of the menu, we'll be in luck.

Not bad. Kinda crazy, but I guess I could see how it might seem shiny, sparkly, and exciting to an inexperienced kid. Live in NYC... See a real club.
Went on a Friday night with a friend to just get out of the house. The Valet guy was nice and they valet for tips only. Great value! The club itself is absolutely beautiful! Stunning! Great ambience. So for the bad part,I had a glass of wine about 1/4 of the way filled and was charged almost $9 dollars! On top of that the server kept interrupting my vibe of the music by asking constantly if we needed anything. And even before I finished my glass of wine, she asked my to settle my bill cause she had to leave... Not my problem! Totally ruined my experience.

I have only been here once but I would love to go again. Its a smaller lounge with a dance floor and bar inside then another area outside with lounge areas to sit and talk/mingle with friends. There is also a bar available in the same lounge area too. I like the atmosphere because it is more relaxed compared to other bar/lounges I have been too. I could also tell the staff were very attentive and on top of their work. I observed the employees picking up empty glasses/bottles to make sure the space was clean & organized, the security was observant to make sure the environment was safe for everyone and the shot girls/bartenders made the drinks quick and were upbeat. Good place to go to celebrate a birthday, special occasion if you're over 21.

Cozy fun little spot I had a nice time here. I like the set up of the spot. Its not a huge place, but I found it quite relaxing, and not overwhelmed, plus the outside patio with the fireplace is a great addition. It was to my understanding that this place use to be club "Confetti's" back in the day... Boy I had tons and tons of memories at Confetti's , so it was nice to see it again but upgraded . My friend had a VIP here for her bday party. The service was nice, staff was courteous. The crowd was great. I live in the Boston area, but would not mind making the trip to this place again. A plus plus plus, is that you don't have to pay for parking if your use to doing that like I am being in the city of Boston. They also have Valet, which to my understanding is free. Just leave them a good tip, they will take care of you

The first couple of times I came to Pearl was with a big group and it was packed in the summer time. Lots of cute girls and no fights or problems with the service. (Kimberly M. nailed it with her description of the interior decor) Their bartenders operate with auto-pourer systems so their drinks are very light on alcohol and filled with juices/filler. Last winter I went and on the less busy nights & the lack of professionalism and appreciation for guests really stood out. My friends and I would get VIP tables every single time we went. We spent thousands there and the treatment only got worse, not better. I told the manager I'd never come back, that was a year ago and have stuck to it. From what I hear, there's no reason to.

If I could take stars away from this place I would. This place had the worst service. My friends and I went for a sushi Tuesday and it took us over 3 hours to be served two courses of sushi. The waitress had no knowledge of the menu and didn't fill our water until we asked. Besides the service the food was terrible. The only good thing about this place was the decor which was out of place in a horrible neighborhood. I'm sure they would treat Ronnie and dj Pauly d better which was advertised throughout the place.

I went to Pearl for the first time on Memorial Day weekend to see DJ Jazzy Jeff. Beautiful club! It's something that can't be denied! The outside patio was key since it was so hot out that night. The crowd for this night was a little older (figures) but us 20 something girls had a blast anyway! I honestly can't get over how nice the club was though...inside and out. The area which the club is located is a lil sketch but whatever...it didn't bother me. The drinks weren't super strong...which i'm kind of upset about. lol but staff and everyone was super friendly! I don't know what the crowd is on a usual weekend because I'm from Boston. Oh and the music was on point...danced the entire night!

If I could take stars away from this place, I would! I can't believe how bad Pearl got! It used to be a great, fun place to go but now the small crowd that does go is pretty scary! So many thugs and people looking for fights. I went to Pearl on Saturday and had one of the worst experiences of any club I have ever been to! I reserved a private vip table with Danny back in July and worked out all the details for my wife's birthday. He was really cool and very helpful. He promised us the fireplace section and free admission before midnight for all 15 of our guests. When we got to Pearl on the 1st, they said Danny no longer worked there and they could not offer us the fireplace OR free admission. Instead, they gave us a small vip section and made us all pay the ridiculous $15 cover charge! $15 to get into a place with 100 guys. To top things off, the service was awful and our waitress was REALLY rude. She yelled at my wife for taking too long to pay the bill and then scoffed at the %20 tip we left! This is definitely not the same Pearl that it was a year ago. I've heard the owner has a very bad reputation and that's why no one goes anymore. Try checking out View or Vanity if you want a decent night out around here!

Ok, so I can't really tell you the last time I "hung out" on Charles Street, but Pearl is very nice. I'd say a cross between something lush and fabulous and something seedy and stripper like. It had a groovy movie set feel. Inside the restaurant it was so dark, I thought I might fall face first on the black carpet, clear glass bubble filled tubes were lit, bead strings adorned their cases. Seriously groovy. The patio is awesome! It has a cool white "circus tent" with speakers built in and a mini light-show going on. The band we saw was a swing band, John Badessa Band, really good stuff. My dinner was very good. It was restaurant week so there was a full "bargain" menu. Calamari for an appetizer was good, a little greasy for me but the taste was there. Chicken Picatta was tender and had a nice amount of creamy, mild sauce with peppercorns - came with real mashed potatoes and a nondescript veggie. My dessert, apple crisp, was a bit more like apple cake, but in a good way; it was very good! A gripe, the wine is all YellowTail - its fine but not great. I would go back but I think it might have a very different vibe on the weekend and with a younger crowd. I think I'd like it less because I imagine a half unbuttoned shirt asking, "how you do'in?"

My husband, I and two other couples went there tonight for a pre-fixe Valentine's dinner with a Jazz artist included in the price of $100. The Jazz artist, Eelan was fantistic, the service on the other hand, was horrible. Our reservation was for 8pm. We were seated and it took over an hour just to get a cocktail. Our waitress was very apologetic but the bad service continued. An hour later our appetizers arrived after we had to complain. They tried to placate us with a free bottle of Prosecco and some free sushi, but all we wanted was what we had originally paid for for which was one appetizer per couple, two entrees and two desserts. All said and done, it took us four hours to get what we had paid for. When we asked to speak to the manager Jen, she avoided us at first and then only spoke to the men at the table. She tried to argue with them that she had given us free food, which, we never asked for and told us she would comp. each couple $60 of the $100 and then stormed off. Although, I feel that in the end her comping us was fair, her attitude as a manager was appalling. Needless to say, we will not be going back there again.

Went here for the Tuesday all-you-can-eat sushi special. For $20, you order as much as you want from a set menu of miso soup, edamame, seaweed salad, and a selection of about 5 rolls - and all you can drink sake. We quickly figured out that there were a few rolls that gave us our money's worth - spicy tuna, shrimp tempura and grilled salmon so we kept ordering those over and over. They're normal sized rolls, not like other sushi buffets where it's all rice. Miso soup was the worst I've ever tasted - just watery bland broth and seaweed. The waiter talked us into sake bombs, something I usually associate with frat crowds but we figured "when it Rome..." The good thing was, the sake was included so we were only charged for the beer. Bad thing was that the beer (Tsingtao) was way gross and skunky. So skunky in fact, that someone at the table said "did you just smell weed?" and I had to point out that it was actually the beer. Food came out very slowly and we spent over 2 hours eating, but we had a big table (10) so probably not their fault. Everyone else has talked about the over-the-top gaudy nightclubbyness and douchbaggery of the place, and I confirm those opinions. However, if you are into big dance clubs, it would be one of the nicest places to go in Providence. The back patio is really nice; the type of place you could have a Diddy-style white party. I would go back for the Tuesday special or if for some reason I wanted to go clubbing. Tuesday was empty enough so that my nerdy friends and I didn't feel too uncomfortable.

I needed to throw a last-minute engagement dinner for my boyfriend'a brother and fiancé, Pearl made it happen wonderfully! The manager Jen was extremely accommodating and set up a gorgeous table for 12 right out on their patio which boasts white tents, white couches with red pillows, black wicker glass end tables and a fireplace for even more beautiful Summer night ambiance! The food was fantastic, pizzas especially and the buffalo Mac daddy! Our server Kelly left nothing for me to worry about as just efficiently popped/ poured champagne, served yummy drinks and even had our cake cut in the back and brought to each guest. I choose her as my waitress any time. all and all it was a wonderful experience and a lovely venue as well as a great menu, they made the night memorable from start to finish, I highly reccomend it!
