I really enjoy the food but the service is sub par. It takes way to long to get ANYTHING in this place. I have been twice and this has been the case both times. Never more than 4 tables occupied. Either train you staff or hire new people. There's plenty of Italian places in town to choose from.

Food was very good. The service wasn't.

Extremely friendly waitress. Unfortunately they didn't have the scallops, oh well. They did a great IPA on tap so that helped ease the pain. Ordered the chicken milanese. Side salad was basic (as it should be I guess) but fresh and the dressing was very good. Chicken milanese was really excellent, as usual way to much food. Sides were just so-so. I'll be back!

If you want great food with great service and want to feel like your in your grama kitchen this is the place for you. I had the calamari ala mama which was melt in your mouth delicious for an app, and for my entree I had the chicken saltimboca which was so fresh and full of flavor. Great spot.... great prices...great food

Tried to support a new local business. Arrived on a weekend night, only 4 tables full, the rest empty. Stood inside for a few moments until a bus person said to sit anywhere, as Hostess/Manager was heading outside for a smoke. Decor was fine, looked promising for a simple old school Italian dinner. Again waited a few minutes til someone dropped off a basket of bread - the previously mentioned smoker making clear "I am not your waitress" Thank God for that I guess. Finally the very pleasant (but new and unfamiliar with the menu) server arrived and took drink and app order. While waiting for those to arrive, and waiting seems to be the motto of this place, it was time for people watching. The owner decked out in his best sweats was hanging around the bar shmoozing with friends. Perhaps he should have been greeting people coming in instead of the first impression being the hard working but apron stained busser. It seems that to get service here you have to know the owner as people who arrived later received food and bev first. Anyway, the server arrived with apps and drinks and we placed our dinner order. And then...... we waited.... and waited..... Gentle readers of Yelp, we ordered only a humble Chicken Parm and Pasta Aglio Olio. Looking around and now seeing only 2 tables occupied, it took 75 minutes for these simple dished to arrive. We honestly were about to just say forget it and head next door to 1 More Taco as we were now starving. The Pasta was absolutely buried under an avalanche of black olives and my partner found the dish unedible. The Chicken Parm was adequate, but I can get one of similar quality at Burger King in 3 minutes instead of an hour and a quarter. The very apologetic server took away the pasta and offered something else but honestly we had neither the time or patience for another wait for food. Finally we got the attention of the owner and expressed our disappointment. he seemed a nice enough fellow but not too concerned about our complaints. During this conversation the staff chain smoker sprinted across the room and shrieked "Is there a problem here!!!???" My companion explained that we were speaking to the owner and we really had no need to add someone else into the mix. "Well I'm the Manager!!!!" Ah, the manager, the one who didn't greet incoming guests, did not come over to address either the delay or food quality issues... the manager who told me our food took over an hour "because we were busy!!" This place is like a real live episode of Kitchen Nightmares right down to the clueless owner and shrieking manager. Why don't people just understand that a simple "I'm sorry, we just opened a few weeks ago and obviously we have a few kinks to work out. Please come back again and give us another chance." goes a long way. Instead said "manager" returned to the owner's buddies and complained about us. Such professionalism. Well I hope the owner's friends eat there daily because they need to keep this place afloat. With the way they treat new customers all they're going to have are the cronies. And a special shoutout to the owner's classy friend who flipped us the finger on the way out. It's Johnston. You don't have to go far to find better Italian and a better atmosphere.

I went to Mike & T's on 2/19/15 & will not be returning! My sister, nephew, & I were told to pick a seat upon entering the restaurant. We picked a table near the wall (only one other table was taken). Our waitress came over to ask us what we wanted to drink, which was a very small selection-water, soda, milk, coffee or tea. The drinks were brought out quickly & we placed our orders-my sister asked for a grilled cheese with ff for my nephew, & chicken Alfredo for herself & I got the stuffed scrod. The stuffed scrod comes with either a side of a potato & steamed veggie OF YOUR CHOICE or pasta. My sister's Alfredo dish did as well (?-not sure why a pasta dish would have a potato and veggie or pasta for a side) I asked the waitress what potato choices I had & she said the ONLY choice they had was oven roasted potatoes & broccoli for the veggie-so we both ordered that. They waited until our food almost came out to give us bread with butter. While we waited two other women came in with a child & sat down right behind us. One of the women was complaining that it was too hot in there (it was a little chilly to be honest) & then that same woman proceeded to order a Bloody Mary with extra horseradish sauce! They had her sample a few of them b/c they couldn't figure out how to make it how she wanted it. In all of this the woman keeps complaining about the temperature & to keep her happy they decide to turn the AC on!!! A different waitress brought out the food & they brought me the plain scrod which was two very small fillets on a huge plate and on a small tea plate they brought out 3 potato wedges (not even a whole potato-really?!) & 2 broccoli florets! My sister got a huge plate of pasta & her small tea plate with the same amount of veggie as I did. I told the waitress this was not what I had ordered & she asked me if I wanted her to take it back & get what I had ordered-ummmm YES! I wanted the stuffed scrod (which was pictured & looked delicious!) that would have scallops & shrimp inside & topped with Ritz cracker crums. I had to wait a little longer for the food but in the mean time my sister asked me to taste her pasta b/c she didn't like it. I tried it & the sauce canned-this I know b/c I buy Ragu Alfredo sauce at home & that is EXACTLY what was coating my sister's pasta! Finally, my meal comes back out. They used the 2 same scrod fillets from earlier & placed them over about 10 baby scallops & ONE jumbo shrimp-at that point the scrod had been hanging out while they cooked the scallops & ONE shrimp & the Ritz cracker crumbs were a soggy mess! I started eating it & it tasted all right but I really wasn't too happy that it wasn't what I had REALLY ordered much less looked like what was featured in their menu. When I start eating the second fillet I tell my sister something is wrong b/c it tastes nothing like the first fillet I ate & it tastes like it was sprayed with cleaning solution! At all of this my sister notices my nephew has not touched his grilled cheese & is making faces while he eats his fries. She asks him what is wrong & he says the grilled cheese doesn't look yummy & the fries don't taste good. She tastes one of his fries & tells him he doesn't have to eat anymore b/c they taste like cardboard. I look & notice his cheese isn't even really melted on the grilled cheese but the bread looks really toasty-did they use imitation cheese?! At this point we are not only unhappy with our food but also freezing & my nephew is asking us if he can please put his coat on b/c he is too cold! We asked the waitress who gave us our food if she could ask the other to give us our check. We start putting on our coats as do the women behind us who notice we didn't finish our food & my sister tells them what is wrong, to which one woman responds that "The restaurant was good for like the first week they opened but it really went down hill!" At this point the waitress who took our orders comes over & asks us if there was a problem & my sister says "No." To which she says "Are you sure? Did you not like the food?" Now we felt put on the spot so we said that everything was ok & we just wanted the check. Then she asks my sister why my nephew didn't eat his food & if she wanted to take the rest home for later so my sister lied & said she didn't really like pasta & my nephew wasn't really hungry. We get our check & we have a $10 gift certificate & I am paying half on my credit card & my sister is paying half in cash. We explain to the waitress that we want to do $17.50 in cash & $17.50 on the credit card & she says that is fine. Then she tells us she put the full $20 in so the amount on the cc would be less. I explained we wanted to split the bill & she says it's too late because the cash is already in the system. I asked her to void the transaction and process the cc first to which she tells me we need to wait b/c the manager is busy and only he can void it. We left it as it was and ran out of there quickly!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
