I got the divorced eggs and loved every bite! Fresh, original breakfast choices full of flavor and you can watch the chefs in action from a counter seat. My husband ordered the plainest, most boring option (he's anti-spice) and raved non-stop. His French toast was the best I've ever tasted and now we order a side of FT to share every time for a sweet treat finish.

This is a hidden gem. The menu selection is great, the food is fresh and the service is great as well. It was my first time here for breakfast (brunch) and there were so many selections. I got 2 tortillas black beans, egg on each one with toppings and friend plantains on the side. My friend got the homemade to order strawberry/banana pancakes (they are hugh) and the scrambled eggs, chourico, veggies, and home fries. The place is small and friendly and well worth the trip. I will be going back again.

My new favorite spot for Mexican breakfast! My husband insisted on going out for breakfast but I was not in the mood for eggs. We found this place on yelp and decided to give it a try. The prices are right and the food is delicious. I ordered the chilango, think cut steak perfectly seasoned and grilled with black refried beans and crispy homemade tortilla chips smothered in salsa verde... each bite was heavenly. My husband worded a lunch special (yes, for breakfast) with chile relleno smothered n red salsa and a chicken tamale, he had not a bad thing to say about it. If you haven't been there yet, go.

It was our last day in Providence and we needed a hearty meal before our long drive back to NYC. Yelp directed me to La Hacienda. Although the neighborhood is a little derelict and desolate looking, it is not dangerous. La Hacienda delivered on food and value! It's a small restaurant that would attract only locals. A plastic banner with La Hacienda's name covers the sign of the former tenants. We chose to sit at the bar. I ordered "The Mexican," which was scrambled eggs with diced bell peppers and onions, refried beans, and corn tortillas. He had something similar, but with dried beef added to the eggs. They asked us if we wanted fresh homemade salsa and we eagerly agreed. Both the red and green salsas were incredible. We liberally drenched our food with it. I ordered a horchata, rice milk drink, with my breakfast. The food was absolutely delicious and I wish we could have tried other items on their menu. Our two breakfasts with tax and tip came to about $15. Incredibly cheap. La Hacienda may be the exception that proves the rule that East Coast has no good Mexican food.

I love this place! It has good parking and right in the center so it's not too out there in the open to find. I really enjoy the service there as well as the food. There menu has a lot of options so it is great to go with a family who loves different things. I am always content when entering and leaving the restaurant.

Stumbled in this morning after a crazy night of reunions and alcohol (fuck Mercury being in retrograde) ordered the most complicated descripted item Huevos Montulenos. Two crispy tortillas, slathered in frijoles, topped with amazing (i opted for scrambled, you can keep runny yolks far way from me thanks) eggs and tomato/chorizo(or ham) salsa of some sort. Absolutely perfect. Perfect. The side of platano maduro hit the goddamn spot man. If you want a great breakfast, eat here. Nothing was greasy everything 100% fresh. Cheers.

So I went there for the first time this week since people were ranting and raving that this was a great place and had a great food. I was craving something small and savory so I went through the menu decided to order a tamale. My options were red or green , so I asked the server are they made with pork or are they made with chicken?... her answer was I don't know, they come from the other restaurant ...so I continue to ask is there anyone else here that might know if there pork or chicken ?what if I'm allergic to any of them and she said no, no one knows. so I continued and ordered the red tamale not knowing what I was getting. I waited about 15 minutes ... my server within the 15 minutes never acknowledged me... never checked on my order. Close to 20 minutes of waiting I asked a different server if she could check on my order... finally my tamale came out after 20 minutes of waiting. While waiting for my food to come out I observed the cooks frustration with the servers because plates were being assembled incorrectly. Plates were coming back... wrong items... wrong orders. The servers were crammed behind the counter space going in circles and not getting much done. After eating my food I proceeded to ask for my check. The tamale was decently portioned and flavorful. The checks price did not match the price on the menu, the service was terribly bad, the unprofessionalism was notable an obvious to the customers. Never again!

Cheap. Quick. Sooooo goood! My new fave breakfast spot. Great & friendly service The chilequiles was as magnificent as I hoped it would be. Fried tortilla's soaked in salsa verde covered in eggs and sour cream and chicken. Beans on the side. So much food for like $8. I was there late last week. I'm going again today. Basically because writing this review is making me hungry. My wife had the scrambled eggs with the machaca and tortillas. Also delicious, but she only allowed me a small bite as she loved it and wanted it all to herself. Ok, I'm heading there now. Bye!

You yelpers rule, thank you! We loved our breakfast. My hubby enjoyed his pancakes, perfect and fluffy. We also ordered a pepper tamale-no meat, plantains, eggs and fresh corn tortillas, beans, avocado and other things. Service was friendly, fast and efficient, and the price can't be beat. Again, thank you yelpers, we would never have found this place without you guys :)

Delicious, delicious Mexican and American breakfasts, and for a great price. I just discovered this little diner the other day and was more than impressed with the experience. The location isn't too bad, and they have their own parking lot in the back. The service is a little slow, but awfully sweet. The inside is an old 50's diner that has been recently updated with new floors and a bright paint job. It's a bit tiny inside, but there's at least 10 tables plus a counter with some stools. The coffee is good, but the food is amazing. I got the Rancheros style eggs which are served over tortillas with red sauce, and with beans on the side. The sauce was super flavorful but not too overwhelming, and I was served extra tortillas to sop up the rest of it. The beans were definitely fresh and really tasty. My boyfriend got the "everything" omelette, which LITERALLY had EVERYTHING in it. It was bigger than my head and absolutely delicious. It was served with homefries and toast, and the toast was made with really good, fluffy Italian bread and smothered in real butter. Mmmm. Somehow the bill was only $14. Amazing. I will definitely be back.

This place is amazing. Its wicked small but the cooks are like pros. They are so quick at making everything and it looks perfect. The staff is very friendly and the food is great! I tried the Divorced eggs and it was perfect! My boyfriend had the Manny and I could not stop eating his pancakes. This place is by far the best place I have ever had for pancakes. The Horchata is sweet and delicious. They serve Columbian brewed coffee which my boyfriend had two cups of. This is the best place to get quick delicious filling Spanish meals. I highly recommend it!

I went to Mexico a couple months ago. I was looking to find a new & different place to take my mom out to breakfast. Yelp had good reviews for this place so we went. We went around 9 am on a Sunday. The pace was packed. My mom said if you ever go to a restautant and see firefighters or police eating there it is usually good. I must agree. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. I had "eggs divorced" (?). It was a steak with eggs, tortillas, salsa and refried beans. It had a red and green sauce too. Don't be thrown off by the location. You will be pleased.

Epic breakfast. Had the huevos rancheros, and a couple of pancakes. The eggs were perfect, the sauce (I asked for it on the side) was very tasty, but too spicy for me. But I'm a wimp when i it comes to spicy stuff. Nice tortillas, awesome beans, a couple of corn chips, and sour cream. They also brought over extra tortillas too. DELICIOUS. I'd have been happy with that. But then I tried the pancakes. OMFG were they good. I mean AMAZINGLY good! Like really, really, really good pancakes. Arguably the best pancakes I've ever had in my 42 plus years on earth. They were perfectly cooked, perfectly fluffy, and perfectly sweet. Not to much, just enough. They were so good I've been talking about them all week. I mean better then your grandmas pancakes good. Just frikin unbelievabley good. Did I mention they have good pancakes??? :) Also they are very nice people. I can't wait to go back, and see how the poached eggs, homefries, and breakfast meat is. I luv this place. Try it. Trust me. You'll be hooked.

Small restaurant but well worth a stop by, the service was very nice and the food was tasty. I ordered the manny special and my lady the western omelet, both were very filling for a cheap price. The restaurant was very decorative, colorful and lively.

Tried La Hacienda for the first time today. I decided to go with the toluqueño. It was spicy sausage mixed up with scrambled eggs with beans and tortillas. It was pretty inexpensive, the food came out promptly, and the service was pretty nice. It's pretty small in here so keep in mind you won't be too far from your neighbors in here. Additionally, the parking lot is pretty small but there is on street parking too. Over all a great breakfast/lunch joint with a pretty big menu.

This place is really cute. I've only been for breakfast twice, but I enjoyed it. Everything is always out fast, and delishh. They have amazing shakes/smoothies, especially the mango. I cant give a really high review cause they have weak coffee, and I'm a caffeine addict.

This place has amazing Mexican breakfast! The chef Micky who works on Mondays is the best! But this place is great! Not the best area but it's all part of the experience!

Okay, I rarely if ever give 5 stars. This place though is as good as it gets with regards to a Mexican Food style breakfast. Coming from Texas, I was used to getting great breakfast at the local spot. Having ventured outside the boarders, it has been very sparse pickings. So imagine my surprise finding a joint like this in Rhode Island. So the place is a little difficult to find. The address is correct but it is situated off the main road in the nook of where two other roads merge into Plainfield. So look tor the spot that does not fit. The parking is around back, but you may also have to find parking on the street because the place gets packed. I have been there several times now and all but once had to wait a few minutes. They do serve the standard breakfast fare, pancakes, eggs, French toast, corned beef hash..., but it is there Mexican specialties that get to the 5 stars. The rest is 3 to 4 star worthy. So the word for the day boys and girls is 'Chilaquiles'. Not going to tell you about it because you must go and experience. Order it with the Eggs green or red sauce on the side. Green sauce has the most heat. Now this dish comes with chicken, but can be ordered with steak which is my preference. I think that one is called Chillango. Just an in store name. There Caso Flamido is outstanding as well. So all I can say is you need to get there and get you some.

Apparently they will only take to go orders if you speak Spanish, otherwise they hang up on you repeatedly - give another place ur money, foods not that good!

This place gets a five star hands down! Tried out breakfast on a Sunday morning and was blown away. It stays busy but the staff is very on point and everyone works together to make sure the food and service is timely and well put together. I will be coming back to this place again and again! Keep up the good work!

The restaurant is a little inconspicuous but once you find it, it's a lovely experience. The breakfast portions are large and the food turns out pretty quickly. I believe what I had was billed as chilango. It was a juicy steak with retried beans, taco chips and green chili sauce with cheese on top. I enjoyed every bite. My guests had an omelette with a side of sausage and could barely finish because it was a much larger omelette than he expected. I tried it and it was so tasty and made with fresh ingredients, too. Highly recommend.

First of all, the menu is ginormous! Love the fact that they offer American & Mexican breakfast which is a huge plus for me. They have endless options but every time I go I can't shy away from getting my all time favorite breakfast. Chilaquiles! It's a very simple Mexican breakfast & they make it just like my mother. Can't get any better than that. Milkshakes!!!! So many options as well. So far I've had the mango & passion fruit & they're sooooo good. I have a hard time not drinking it all before the food comes out.

Wow, allow me to hop on the bandwagon. The reviews for this place seemed to good to be true, but they were all legit. Breakfast places all have the usual eggs, bacon fare. This place has all that and much more with a south of the border flair. Expect breakfasts and other meals laced with cilantro, spice and salsa. I had the divorced eggs, which were nothing short of divine. The menchaca and toluqueno were also good. The ambience is one of a throwback diner. One that other places aspire to but can never achieve. Try it and savor the experience. There's a short order station and an efficient crew working the floor. Have fun and enjoy this place. its awesome.

Best breakfast in town and its inexpensive!! I eat here or get it to go every weekend. My favorite is the Monterrey Style breakfast, scrambled eggs with mexican hash, veggies, and jalapenos, its also served with beans and tortillas yum! They have a special called the Manny's Special that includes all the fixing plus pancakes. My son's favorite is their cinnamon french toast. Parking is tough and so isnt the seating but its well worth the wAit!

There's the one on plainfield and the other one further ahead. I love this place. Their steak is tasty and I will gobble up their pupusas! I've had their breakfast as well. Its very tasty. When I'm too lazy to go elsewhere, I'll eat here. It really is inexpensive and they make a mean cup of joe (when its fresh!). I'll always enjoy eating at this place. Not to mention, the service is good. I guess it also helps to know some of the people who work there.

This is an odd little place in Olneyville Square: an el-cheapo Mexican joint, with mostly forgettable dishes but a few standouts, like the fajitas, and, surprisingly, a full-featured brunch menu on the weekends! Good when you're hungry but Nick's up the street has an hour-long wait! I live in the 'hood and I'd definitely recommend it over the better-known El Rancho Grande further down the street.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
