Came here for the first time this morning. I got an egg and cheese on a bagel and the waffle sticks. The sandwich was delicious and the waffle sticks were alright.. A bit dry. My boyfriend got the ham and cheese omelet and he said it was yummy. It came with hashbrowns too, which i tried and they were delicious!! As for the service, we were seated quickly and our waitress was very friendly. Our food came out fast and she asked us if we wanted refills on our coffee midway through our meal. Atmosphere was nice. It was a Friday late morning and it was pretty quiet. I would definitely come back again..especially since its right down the road from my apartment!!

We were three people party from Japan and looking for the old-fashioned Diner while driving from Providence to Boston. We love this place! Amazing fries are really good. Pancake was melting in my mouth. Will come back again!!

My husband loves greasy spoons and diners that normally make me cringe so when he said he wanted to bring me here I was dreading it. He used to work right around the corner and went here all the time. The exterior of this building does not do it justice. Inside it was very spacious and clean and the waitress was great. Great coffee and a surprising variety of food. I took a chance on the "french toast" which is not something that I would have expected in a place like this. Oh my goodness - possibly the best breakfast item that I have ever had. So decadent but so wonderful. Worth a trip just for that.

A true Pawtucket institution, Kip's has been in it's current location since I moved to Rhode Island as a boy, and stands there still as I've moved all around. Every time I go home to visit, I make a pilgrimage to Kip's. The first time I went back some years ago, I told my waitress that I hadn't been there in twenty years or so. She immediately replied "You want a couple of wieners and a large coffee milk, right?" "Right." This past trip I introduced Kip's to my long-suffering wife and children, who've listened to me talk about 'gagga's' for years. The consensus was predictable - my son loved 'em, the girls thought they were kind of disgusting. Now that I'm in my fifties, it's a good thing I don't live near Kip's, or near wiener joints in general. Once a year keeps NY System wieners a special treat, and my heart can breath a sigh of relief. Oh, Kip's fries are excellent, and the service is always great.

I like to try different breakfast places around the area and this Sunday I did Kips. It was busy with locals who frequent the establishment and they like it. To me Kips is a typical Providence area local place - clean, friendly but not at all compelling. The menu was pretty routine and I had hoped for some unique items, but my combination omelet & pancake was fine - just not particularly interesting.

I've been going to Kip's since I was a Little Pup! Good eats at a great price! Breakfast is yummy! Burgers and Club Sandwiches rock! Fries are awesome! Gaggers as we call em! are a Rockin! I prefer mine with Katscup instead of mustard! Gets 4 bones from me!

From what I understand Kip's is one of those places that people go to and have been going to forever. Maybe that's why it has four stars on Yelp- but from someone who onl went once- 4 is two times too high. This place is not special at all. If you want greasy food that is straight from the freezer that only takes cash- then yeah, it's your place. Otherwise, drive a little farther into North Attleboro and eat somewhere else. Yes, you'll probably have to eat at a chain- but I promise it will be better than the food here. The service was good though...
(2)John M.
Great food at a great price. Kip's is one of those local places that is almost handed down through generation. The service is fast and friendly, the menu is a decent size, everything is cheap. Their specials are a great deal. The wieners, eggs, and coffee cabinets (Coffee milk shake made with ice cream) are all top notch. I give it four stars instead of five because before noon parking can be impossible, it isn't the cleanest place I've been to, and there aren't free refills.
(4)Lucy G.
Love their cheap breakfast specials. Wieners are awesome and their fries are really good. They come out hot and are soft yet crunchy..just dont let them sit too long they get soggy quick and dont taste as good. Only gripe is they dont take Credit/Debit cards. Its a small place so expect some days to be packed. And going with a large group probably wouldnt be the best idea since seats are limited..a group of 2-4 will do. Its a nice local place that people have been coming to for YEARS! Also if you come from out of town dont forget to tack your location on their map on the back wall that shows visitors from all across the US :)
(4)Cate M.
Great breakfast place. They do have a lunch menu, but I haven't tried anything from it. The breakfast is too good. They also have excellent cabinets (as in the shakes, not the decor).

this is the real deal, a pawtucket classic. best weiners in da' state, make sure you get the #5 armpit weiner for the extra spice. don't forget great fish & chips and/or steak sandwich. wicked reasonable prices too! Chuck trem

Two all the way. Just the best. Everything is outstanding and cheap.
(5)Shawn W.
Best wieners around! If you haven't tried this Rhode Island staple, get 'em here. Delicious, hot, perfectly steamed buns, fresh chopped fine onions. Do it the Rhode Island way & get it with a large coffee milk. The service was helpful & friendly, too. NOT a fine dining place! But if you're looking for a good diner with good food, come here!!
(5)Annie K.
Home fries are awesome. Staff is super friendly. The food is priced great and extremely delicious!
(4)Joe C.
Gotta Like Kip's Kip's is a small diner like family restaurant that serves mostly breakfast and lunch. It's an old school place that hasn't been updated in 30 years but who cares. They serve a quality breakfast at an affordable price. Going to hit it for lunch soon. Keep it going, Kip's! Thanks
(3)Steven P.
Excellent Breakfast special. 2 Eggs, Home Fries, Toast, Juice and Coffee for $3.89. The service is excellent and always filling your coffee cup.
(5)Meriam T.
Food is so-so. I had the Breakfast Special with burnt raisin toast. You can't toast this things at the same rate as regular toast coz the raisins burn easily. My OJ was from a concentrate. Womp womp. Bf had Western Omelette. They only put cheese and ham on it. NO PEPPERS. Apparently a lot of regulars come here coz the staff pay more attention to them. We had to flag our waitress couple times to refill our coffees and my OJ which she'd only given me towards the end of my meal coz she'd forgotten.
(2)Robert M.
Been going to kips since I was a kid. It's the perfect place for a great breakfast at super low prices. The wieners are also fantastic. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The only complaint I've ever had is that their small drinks and juices are about the size of a shot glass, make sure to order a large and you'll be a happy customer.
(4)Dianne C.
Have been going to Kips for years love their steak sandwich with mushrooms, hot weiners and french never had a bad meal
(5)Andrea G.
Food had absolutely no flavor. Coffee was watery but OK. I just can't get over how bland everything was. Had eggs, home fries, sausage, and raisin toast. How can sausage be flavorless? Buttermilk pancakes were passable but only due to the butter and imitation maple syrup. Other reviewers have accolades to the waitresses but ours was not that great.
(1)Nona N.
Breakfast is just meh. I think the glowing reviews are more for the kind staff that work there (they are SO nice) and how cheap breakfast is. You do actually get a lot of food for not much- but I'm personally more about quality not quantity. Two stars- because the food is very basic and because for some reason this place has wayyy too many good reviews on yelp and it's misleading IMO.
(2)Nessy M.
My first time here and I liked it. For the omelettes I thought it was cute how they stack them like pancakes. Alot of food is given for a cheap price. She forgot the jelly that comes with it but that's ok I dont care for jelly too much. Its a typical diner so you obviously can't go into it with too high of an expectation. Most diners are cash only anyway and have an atm inside. If citizens is your bank it's literally right next door and u can walk over to take money out and avoid the bank fees. Overall I liked the food and service !
(4)Tim W.
What a great place! I used to love going there when I was a kid. I went to the Jr High down the street (Goff) and stopped in there almost daily. I have been in there a few times within the last couple of weeks for breakfast and also for lunch. The food is just as good as I remember but the staff, including the owners, are much better. Very personal and friendly.
(5)John G.
Went for Breakfast with family on a Sunday morning and the place was packed. Food was good the service was not. The waitress stopped taking our order half way thru so she could go joke around with someone. They don't take debit cards or credit cards so I had to get up from my meal walk over to the bank take out 40$ go back to eat only to get my bill later and it was 43$ so I had to walk back to bank take out another 20$. Each time it costs me 3.50$ in service charge so it costs me 7.00$ to pay for a over priced meal. They do have a ATM in the place it's out of order there.
(2)Andrea P.
Love the wieners and fries! Great bacon cheese burgers too! Love the family friendly diner atmosphere. They have great little treats to add to make any home cooked meal great.
(5)Mike P.
It's very easy to give this place five stars. Growing up in Pawtucket there were two diners to go to- Kip's and Bill's. both offered great service and authentic diner goods. By the 90s, Bill's was sold and went downhill. Yet, Kip's endures due to the hard work of the owners. The service is always fast and friendly, the portions decent and the aroma is authentic diner. One of my favorites is their weiners. I wouldn't say they are the best in RI, but they are very good. You probably won't hear about them as elite RI food critics only go to one place apparently. It may not be good on your waist line, but it is easy on your wallet and simple good eating for your pallet.
(5)Cheyenne R.
Not a bad spot... Little expensive.... Decent food... Go check it out and write a review :-)
(4)Pamela S.
I am giving Kip's 5 stars for exactly what they are...a great little hole-in-the-wall diner. There are many similar restaurants in RI, but Kip's holds a special place in my heart. Before moving to NC 10 years ago, Kip's was my go-to place for late night breakfast and Hot Wieners for lunch. My husband and I went to Kip's a couple of weeks ago while we were in town and we had a classic RI lunch...two "all the way", fries, and Coffee milk. It was just as delicious as I remember. The restaurant still looks like it did many, many years ago and the service was great Kudos to Kip's for keeping it real all of these years!

DOES NOT ACCEPT CREDIT/DEBIT CARDS! I just need to forewarn because I read the yelp profile and it says yes, not sure how to change it. There are ATMs around, and in the place, but it's a tidbit embarrassing to get up and get cash when you invited someone out to breakfast. Perfect little homestyle breakfast place. They have the regulars who sit in their regular seats. Food was great, homefries awesome (they made ours super crispy).. make sure you tell them right when you get there for the crispy homefries if you plan on getting them. I got juice and coffee with my breakfast, awesome. I'll be back again for breakfast if I'm ever in the area again
(4)Robert G.
Seated quickly, waitress was nice, food was good. It's was kinda divey but that's ok. Good price. Parking sucked, they need to put lines in the parking lot. Would go there again.
(4)Catherine P.
Honestly, the food was bad. We had burgers, not good at all. They only accept cash which is annoying and their ATM charges $2.75 to take out money which is one of highest fees I've ever seen. Ridiculous. The wait staff was okay.
(2)Brad M.
Great breakfast spot, fast, good food and around forever... Friendly staff and owners as well....
(5)Scott D.
There are lots of old diners and restaurants out there making hay on the reputation they used to have while in reality everything's changed for the worse... but the thing about Kips is that they still make food exactly the way you can imagine they always did... simple, predictable, affordable, and just good. The staff has all been there for years and they run the place like a well-oiled machine, which is no easy feat considering how small and tight the space is. The decor is a bit tired and cramped but who cares... Kip's regulars are just glad to be there and the too-close-for-comfort seating actually enhances the nostalgic experience. Today my wife and I shared a plate of home-made meatballs with peppers and fries - all smothered in home-made meat sauce with some grilled garlic bread on the side. Yum. Then we chased it down with a traditional hot wiener - all the way of course. There are none better that we know of and we've tried a lot of them. Our guest had breakfast which Kip's still serves all day. Everything looked perfect - especially the potatoes which were pleasantly burned. His coffee must have been diligently topped off half a dozen times. When you go, watch Hank, the owner, cook for a minute. He works on a tiny grill yet completes every order to perfection within minutes or less while never looking frazzled. Amazing really. Kips is more than a just another local corner restaurant... it's an American institution and among the last of it's kind to remain operating. Forgive its few shortcomings, appreciate it's classic comfort foods, and help ensure that it is preserved for future generations. One little word of caution... make sure to bring cash. They don't take anything else and while they have an ATM, who wants to pay the fee? My humble suggestion to the owners... start taking credit cards. It's the one "cheat" on doing things the old fashioned way that we're all willing to concede.

I told the boss lady that I would write her a yelp review, and that I shall do. I went with my ladies for a brunch on a Sunday morning and we were constantly topped off with our coffees. A friend with a gluten allergy was just going to get eggs, but the cook made her up some mashed potatoes and hash that she could eat. Most diners (even restaurants) won't do this for her, and we didn't even ask for it - he just overheard her say something, and made 'em up! Props to that dude, good guy. Corn muffin was bomb, grilled with butter. Egg Sandwiches were eh - I was disappointed to see frozen english muffins used - c'mon Kips! Better bread products! But the food was greasy and cheap and fast. I'll go back and get some lunch there.

I'm an out of towner that heard about trying the "coffee milk" while I was in pawtucket from the Bizarre Foods show with andrew zimmer. I have to say that I was not disappointed and it tasted excellent. Make sure you try the weiners with the coffee milk as is tradition there. Besides the food, the staff was equally as great. They were very welcoming and very proud (as they should be) of what they served ya. I fully recommend this place and I feel very lucky to have stumbled across it.
(5)Joseph S.
Solid 3 stars. Food was good, service was efficient, nice and clean inside. Probably the only thing I can ding them on was the homefries were a bit overcooked and mushy. Id stop again if I was in the area.
(3)Erik H.
What can I say about this place that hasn't already been said. Fabulous diner feel with the best tasting( unarguably) wieners in the state. Breakfast is cheap and good as well. I've been coming here for 35 years. Good prices, friendly staff( for the most part) and very good food.

Dearest Kip's, You have lived on the same corner in the Bucket for as long as I remember. Although I've moved from Darlington to College Hill to Cali to South Africa to Jersey to Federal Hill and back again, you remain locked in your position on the corner of Armistice and Newport, solid in your footing, like a dedicated soldier in combat. Some would say that your location is truly the center of the universe. Having sampled your perfectly assembled tubular offerings, I would not disagree. Since childhood, I have spent many a meal in your orange booths, savoring three all the way with a side of fries, or if it's early, an egg breakfast with one all the way on the side. I also have fond memories of entering your kitty-corner double doors on a rainy Saturday afternoon, picking up a grease-stained bag full of individual wrapped bundles of steaming meaty love and enjoying your wienerful delights at home with my parents. Because of your unwavering fidelity, I have pledged myself to you each birthday. Every year on the anniversary of my life, I march underneath your charmingly unchanging sign to proudly devour your regional epicurean gifts, giggling delightfully as the skin snaps with each amorous bite and your cabinet coats my throat with a layer of creamy coffee-flavored ecstasy. Kip's, if you are unaware, let this be my declaration: you are the only wiener joint for me. The day you close your doors is the day that I close my eyes eternally, as I could not endure the pain and suffering that your absence will cause. With resolute devotion, Briana M

It's really cleaned up. The walls used to be covered with so much grease and dirt it was mere seconds from bursting into flame. The weiners are a solid A. Top tier, on par with the big boys of Olneyville. They make their own coffee syrup! They still feature local specialties on the menu. I'll add a few examples. Stuff you'd never see in other states. Bathroom is still a dark hole. They have yummy chocolate chip cookies for take-out. Very similar to the ones that Korb's (a local defunct bakery) used make. Good service. Friendly. Cranky diners, but don't forget where you are!
(4)Keith F.
Not bad hot wieners. By far the best in Pawtucket.
