I've been going to Gregg's for a long time, but these past 2 visits have been very disappointing (food cold, bread on sandwiches untoasted/soggy, etc). Especially this visit: We took a young girl out who's mourning the loss of a loved one, and she ordered a hamburger club. Upon getting the club, we saw that the meat was BLOOD RED (should have been medium-well). We told our waitress who then took the sandwich, brought it back to the Chef who took the meat out of it, threw it back on the grill, and when she brought it back, we looked again at the other side of the burger, to find it again, blood red. Finally the manager came over, without apology or care, and brought her a new sandwich. All at the table were already done with their meals, and so this poor young girl ate 1/4 of her club, and out of modesty, took the rest home. Upon being asked how our visit was at the checkout, we explained the problem that we had, and the manager who was then walking by told us "Well now atleast you have lunch for tomorrow." No apology, nothing to try and make a mends for serving raw hamburg TWICE. This is some of the worst quality service we have ever encountered and we do not plan on ever returning.

What can I say that has not already been said. We bring the kids here to the north kingstown restaurant all the time. Especially, after hitting the trails or tubes at yawgoo valley. We have had gatherings after soccer games and hockey games as well. Menu is huge and everything we have had is great. Prepared well and tasty. Amazingly the kids always finish their plates. Staff has always been fun and helpful. They have remodeled this restaurant and are making it updated and even more comfortable. Definitely a RI staple.

If you have lived in Rhode Island for more than 30 seconds, you know Gregg's! Big menu with lots of choices. The staff is always very nice. They do a great job! The mean age of people who go to Gregg's is roughly 75, so you know this place has to be good! Old folks won't spend their money on crappy food! As many people have mentions, the desserts are AMAZING! The English Toffee Cake is one of my favorite desserts ever. The food is affordable and the desserts are worth a trip to this RI landmark!

Big American menu. Pretty much anything you want to fill your stomach. I have been many times, my parents love the place and this location is down the street from them. This time I tried the boiled dinner special. Corn Beef was good potatoes were good, and carrots were perfectly cooked. St Patrick's Day came a little early (or late) for me this year. I have had the burgers and I always get the spicy twisted fries. The deserts are huge and they have a separate counter just for them. There is also a bar that looks pretty nice, but I have always eaten in the dining room. great place for a dinner with the family.

Food here was okay. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich. The buffalo sauce was tasty but other than that, nothing special. The kids meals were a decent size and the kids drinks came with the meal (some restaurants don't offer this for some reason). This particular Gregg's was cold. They sat us at a booth next to a window and it was freezing. We didn't have desert, unfortunately. The deserts look grrrreat. Next time, maybe I'll just eat desert for dinner.

Based on my recent visit / experience: Bland food, poorly trained wait staff. Yes- desserts are excellent. As for the service the night My family dined; think back to high school or junior high in this case : remember the attitude? Maybe an "off" night? I've had had pretty good sandwiches and dessert here in the past.

You get what you pay for at Greggs. Decent food, decent atmosphere. Nothing to really write home. A Club sandwich at Greggs usually runs you between $9-$10 ... Not too bad, slightly overpriced given quality, but I can't get too picky. They make sure to get you bread and pickles, a nice addition in the economy which really cut back. Sometimes seems servers given more tables than they can handle. You can watch people running all around and they rarely stop by and check in during peak times. Likely food comes out quick, warm, and pretty good. If you really want high quality you have to hit the dessert menu, delicious, deep lineup.

As for dinner the food was OK.To start off we got the buffalo chicken nachos which were good but kinda had to search for the chicken on them and it was redish but not spicy at all.For dinner I had the "works" burger and it was pretty good although i ordered medium and it was well. Fries were nothing to write home about but were good. Chicken Sante Fe was really good covered in vegetables and cheese. The very small side of broccoli was barely warm and very small. THE DESSERTS HERE ABSOLUTELY ROCK!!! we got the famous "death by chocolate" cake. chcolate layers with chocolate frosting and covered with chocolate chips MMMMMM MMMMMM MMMMM and i'm told the rest of the baked goods are just as awesome!!!!

The menu at Gregg's has a lot of things on it. I feel like the general quality is lowered because they have such a wide variety of foods. Portions are large, and most meals come with a side included. Overall the value is very good. The food there is decent, but the cakes are excellent! The CAKES at Gregg's are so good. The flavor is rich and full bodied. Everything about the cakes is perfect. Its funny how all the food there is just average, but the cakes are so amazing.

Pricing is reasonable and the food is always well done. Cheese fries are great and the desserts are AMAZING. In the 20+ years my family and I have been frequenting Greggs we have never had a bad experience. Great place for drinks, dinner, and family functions. Keep up the great work!

We stopped in at Gregg's after the Quonset point air show. My wife and I both ordered a toasted almond coffee as it was cold and we were wet. The drinks hit the spot. I ordered the chicken parm and she had the thanksgiving sandwich. Our waiter had a large group next to us and was a little preoccupied. He told us he would bring out some warm rolls, they never found their way to the table. My wife also asked for mayo and I asked for some parm cheese for myself. In both cases it took about 5 minutes to get to the table. The food was very well portioned. We will try Gregg's again a hope for better service.

For first time visitors Gregg's is like an old fashioned but upscale coffee shop from an earlier era which serves home style meals. Most meals are ample portion but may be bland for some tasters. To me the sandwiches selections are the better options for this reason. The club sandwiches taste fine and are presented well. Home styled pickles are included but some servers forget to offer them so don't forget to request them. Gregg's is noted for its desserts and offers many kinds of cakes, pies, and pastry. Save room. At this time on Monday and Tuesday evenings Gregg's allows diners to add a dessert and drink to most entrees for 3 or 4 dollars. On my most recent visit to this location the dining room was clean and both the host and the server were efficient. I had the turkey club which was prepared as I had requested and took advantage of the Tuesday night promo package and had the coffee and toffee crunch cake for an additional 3 dollars. My guest had the french meat pie and onion soup along with ice tea and cheesecake. Everything was fine, Like some diners I have had a couple of issues with Gregg's ( not only at this location) through the years. Usually problems with service has always been an hour prior to closing. IMOP go earlier in the evening, stick with the basics, save room for dessert and you should have an enjoyable experience.

Took awhile standing at door before hostess showed up. Rude staff. Ordered a rueben, and got a corned sandwich. Waitress pissed off when she had to go back for saurkraut. Husband club was very light on bacon. Waitress never came back till we finished meal . Also got unsweetened iced tea, no spoon to stir in any sugar, had to use my fork.

Food isn't what it used to be. At this point I'd rather eat any fast food over going to Gregg's. I'm not sure if it's just this location. Definitely not returning for flavorless bland food that won't evolve past pleasing the elderly.

This Gregg's is probably my favorite of all their locations. I remember always going here as a kid with my family for special occasions and getting my birthday cake from here of course. The location is nice and tucked off the road with decent amount of parking. The food here is always consistently great and the staff is very friendly. They are always stocked up with every dessert you could want and at reasonable prices. I highly recommend Greggs NK for any occasion :)

Not what I expected from Gregg's. First time I've been to this location and I don't think I'll be returning. Extremely understaffed; nearly every table was dirty and there was an area on the floor where what was probably a tray spilled and no one bothered to clean it up. And the napkin the hostess gave me had food on it. Gross. Our server was friendly and the cake was good, but the restaurant itself? I'll be going to one of the other locations next time. It wasn't a problem with the servers, I think they were just stretched very thin.

Meh...I've experienced better. After such an overwhelmingly positive experience with a happy, polite, efficient server the food comes and it's pretty ordinary. This is like that mom in the neighborhood that really loves to cook, invites all the kids over to eat her food, but it's all very so-so. I mean, nothing grossed me out or anything. But I'ms pretty sure that the soup came from a can, the gravy came from a jar, and the chicken on the Chicken & Biscuits is the exact same cooking style/method used for the chicken on the pasta. Gregg's - overall, great service experience good environment and energy, great deserts (gotto tell you the deserts are THE TRUTH...even though very few deserts here are baked fresh. I can tell the pie, although tasted incredible, was made a week ago or more). The food though...eh, meh...ya know...yeah, no reason to come back...better off driving to Warwick or Providence to get some good food. Bland food, not seasoned well, poor choices of ingredients, mac & cheese tastes like poor man's pasta (WTF, was this like melted American Cheese or something...did they use the spray cheese stuff in this mac/cheese????)

My husband and I went here for lunch. I have always wanted to try the Lobster Mac & Cheese and this was my chance. My husband had the Lobster Roll. First however was the calamari...wish is lightly breaded and very good! Then our main course came out....it was the BEST lobster either one of us have EVER had! The lobster just melted in your mouthy with a light buttery taste. Get the lobster!!! You will rave about it for years to come!

Let me just say our bartender, Gino (I really hope I'm remembering your name right!) was what made this visit so good. He was personable, witty and friendly- everything you could hope for in a bartender. The tavern area is a bit gloomy with not enough lighting, but it was a nice visit. My friend and I split the California Rollup and their new Walnut and Apple Rollup. Both were really good!! We didn't get dessert but hands-down, the Giving Cake is my fave--can you say chocolate and peanut butter?? Yum!!

Used to have good food but it seems to have gone down hill the past few years. It's just ok. NE chowder was brownish today and looked curdled. Mozzarella sticks were over cooked as most of the cheese had exploded out of them, and my chicken cutlet club was over cooked to the point of stringy/chewy. The waitress seemed totally indifferent and distracted. The last few times we've gone there it's been disappointing. The only thing worth getting is one of the desserts to go. I live locally and hate to say this about a local business but don't waste your time and money here.

The food is as stale as the decor. Had a $10 steak and cheese sandwich. Not a ounce of flavor. Where's the beef. Must still be in the freezer. Get some fresh meat on the bun for 10 bucks. A happy meal would have impressed me more.

The food here is pretty good. I usually get an appetizer of the cheese fries and a burger of some short. They make really good drinks. Have had Long Island ice tea and a strawberry daiquiri, both were very good. I love the apple crisp dessert. The downside to Gregg's is the service is like the lottery, you don't know if it will be good or not. The people on lunch are always crabby and not really that great. At dinner they have more people on and they are better experienced. All in all a decent place to go.

Reminiscent of the Village Inn or Bakers Square chain of restaurants, known for their pies and baked goods. But this one is a small, Rhode Island chain that adds in local favorites like stuffies (served in clam shells) along with American and Italian items. Good quality though northing gourmet. Pricing is a tad higher than a diner but the atmosphere is much nicer.

Because the hosting family requested it, I ordered and paid for a Death by Chocolate cake on Sat for a Sunday 1:00 pickup. I arrived a little after 1:00 and sent my 17 year old son in to pick up the cake. After 25 minutes, he finally came out. Numerous people went in after him but left before him. Apparently a woman at the counter addressed him, went to get the cake, came back with someone else's cake and then proceeded to ignore him. He could see they were very busy and overstaffed and didn't want to upset anyone. So Gregg's rewards patience with rudeness. And then more rudeness. Halfway down the road he asks me I got writing on the cake. I didn't. We had someone elses cake so bake to Greggs we go. When I brought it, they said " We were looking for that cake. Its not yours" No apology. And then I had to wait another 5 minutes to get my cake. Again no apology. After all that the cake was of average quality. It was NOT worth almost $40. The quality of ingredients has declined significantly. And the service isn't any better.

I must admit that I did not go here to eat a meal. we had eaten at another place, but the wife wanted a chocolate thing doe desert. I asked the waitress and they pointed something out on their menu. I asked if this was the best thing in the area. She looked around and leaned in and pointed us to Gregg's. Being new to RI, I had heard about Gregg's and seen signs, but had not gone there. I am glad we did. I had the Red Velvet and the wife got the 7 layer Chocolate cake. Both were amazing. The Red Velvet is seasonal, so if you have not had this before, get there fast, you will be glad you did. Service was fantastic.
