If you like to get drunk and fight people in the streets. This is the place to be after the bars let out. Look for some hood rats standing in front yelling profanities at random people. I got sucker punched in the eye from behind while walking to my car from via via. Bring some friends who like to rumble or you might get jumped. the police do nothing but write tickets for parking around here. Don't worry about the food there are bigger problems like trying to get through all the local trash loitering about. Newport is one of the crappiest towns due to locals being arrogant and rude.stay far away.

They said it will take them 45mins to deliver, it took them 1.5 hrs instead. We finally called & they said the chef messed up our order so they're fixing it. When we got it, it was still messed up. Came with 4 Jalapeño poppers for $6! and they forgot pickles with my burger & our drinks. Their food is great but the staff needs to get on their game with getting the orders right & delivering in a timely manner.

Bob G.
They are very rude and miserable every time I go in there. They really don't care about their customers or their service. They barely speak English. It's cash only and bring plenty of it because it's overpriced. They're pizza slices are reheated in a brick oven but only to about room temp (gross). Only come here if you are drunk and hungry.

Karis O.
I legitimately will only go here if: 1.) I've done several car bombs at O'Brien's Pub and I'm not thinking clearly 2.) Pizza Hollywood and Crazy Dough are closed or 3.) Everyone from Salve is inside and it looks like a rager
(1)
Meghan M.
Only eat this pizza if it's after the bars have closed and you've had a few too many. Other than that you will not find this pizza appetizing. I can only imagine the amount of money this place brings in from bombed twenty-somethings after a night out. There are literally throngs of people in the street making their way towards Via Via like it is the holy grail (which it probably is at 2am).

Chloe P.
Average pizza, awful service. The older man that handles most of the pizzas is just unpleasant. He treats the establishment as a factory and screams out orders. There was confusion over our order and he swore at us. He was extremely unprofessional and rude. I will not be returning for a cold, very average slice of pizza.

This is most definitely not a place you would ever want to take someone on a first date. This is the kind of place you go to at one in the morning, drunk, and just needing something greasy. It's one of the only places downtown that stays open after the bars close, so if you're downtown past one this is the place everyone will be. The restaurant is dirty, the pizza is greasy, but nonetheless I find myself here all the time. Pizza is sold by the slice. They say that it's cash only but if you tell them that you only have your card, they have a weird thing under the counter they can use that I hope isn't stealing all my money.

This place doesn't "have you at hello", because it's a total dump, but I actually quite like the pizza. My favorite special touch is that they drizzle the pizza with garlic oil. Yum. Second, their crust is light and thin, New York style, rather than thick and crusty like Greek pizza. I've been here two times. The first time I ordered a whole pizza and thought it was excellent. The second time (tonight) I ordered a slice. Like most places, a reheated slice is never as good as a fresh pizza. So I suggest trying this place when you have a whole pizza to order. The slices are good but the fresh pizza is better.

Worst place I can remember eating. Waited about an hour for a sandwich which was horrible...my husband was already done eating when I was served. Place was cold and uncomfortable. Wish we went to Subway. I do not understand how this place is in business - the only way the food might be tolerable is if you are very, very drunk.

Only place I could find to deliver. The wings and chicken Caesar salad were awesome! The pizza was average to good. All in all I would definitely order from them again next time I visit.

Weird tasting food, at least their pizza. Next time I'll try their Middle East menu rather than their Mediterranean one--they're neither Italian nor Greek.

Pizza saves the day. After a long day of sight seeing in Newport, my friends and family just wanted to relax and stay in. So Via Via it was! The pizza was fresh and delicious. It's not too greasy, it doesn't have too many toppings - it is just a great pizza place!
(4)
E W.
Oh man. So fKin good, I mean yeah...they're all fKin that(and then some but minus a bag of chips cuz this pizza is bomb enough to stand alone). We used to call it VIA RHHEA back in the day... Guess why? Still - despite the gastrointestinals, this shizz is worth revisiting (pun intended? pun implemented) - CAN I GET A LATE NITE SMACK DOWN - yes, yes you can (says Via, coyly to Ria, as they head off to smoke blunts in some mansion after party on Bellevue)

Via Via is good, only for their late night food. I have grown up on Via Via.. we used to come downtown after school, grab some slices and sit on the docks. While it is good that they offer slices, there are now other pizza options so you do not have to resort to only Via Via(as we had to back in the good ole days). The staff barely speaks English, and frankly do not really care about their customers or service. They are cash only. They have a huge menu, almost too big to even go through it and order anything... I have only ever tried their pizza though. I really would only recommend coming here late night after the bars, or to come if you really really crave a slice of pizza, but it won't be that appetizing. They "reheat" the slices in a brickoven, but it typically never gets more than room temperature. It leaves a lot to be desired.

Ok. So......it's thanksgiving and I'm single ....so.pizza it is. Not only were they rained lay, nice and accomodating but they delivered slices! 3 different ones. And honestly they were thin crust, perfect combo of cheese and sauce. Thanku via via for being open and delivering on thanksgiving!
(4)
Michelle R.
I don't understand the terrible reviews. Like just about every other reviewer here, Via Via is a late night food option, especially great after the bars close in the area. I happen to enjoy their pizza - every slice I tried over the weekend were tasty, and I don't think it's because I had been drinking. Their buffalo chicken slice and white slice were quite good.
(3)
Tony C.
Average pizza, but they also have a menu of other items for you to select from. This is a decent stop if you don't want to spend a fortune on lunch as prices are high around Newport for a meal. Make sure you have cash as they don't take credit cards.

Visiting friends in Newport. They offered some local places to visit that were walking distance, but warned us of Via Via as the day before they ordered delivery that went terrible. First delivery for them was completely the wrong food. They tried to correct and deliver again, but again it was completely wrong. Their third attempt was still wrong and our friends just gave up. Warned us to go there, but eventually we though to give them a chance by walking inside for take out. Our order was correct but the food disappointing. I shared the photo of the five micro sized jalapeño poppers we paid $7 for. Ridiculous. The shrimp and basil pizza was good but nothing spectacular. Frustrating given the bad experiences as there are so many good things on the menu we wanted to try, but we will not be visiting ahai and don't recommend it.

I blame Long Island for turning me into a giant pizza snob. Hot crispy crust and flavorful tomato sauce are essential for plain slices (actually, any slice) and Via Via unfortunately had neither. Cheese pizza was greasy and soggy :(. Go for the spinach mushroom pizza- spoonfuls of ricotta and generous amount of mushrooms make up for limpy crusts. 3.5 stars for the incredibly friendly staff and delivery guy.
(3)
Sydney S.
I used to eat this pizza late night as a high high schooler. I never saw any problems before. I always got the spinach and mushroom and it was always a huge slice. Today I go in around 10 pm and want a quick slice.... The place is packed, and only 50% of people get a receipt.... Which means those who don't get one don't have any way of knowing when their order is ready. My boyfriend and I wait 30 minutes for 4 slices of pizza. Only to go up to the counter to ask for our pizza.... And the guy who takes our order just grabs 3 slices from the back counter.... Cold... And there the whole time we were waiting. The pizza is decent... When it's warm. But for $18 for 4 slices, I expect it warm, and better service. So basically fail on their part. Won't be back. And will recommend to all other people I know not to give these people their service. Also a half-rotted tomato was rolling around on the floor. So gross.

Melissa M.
I am going to agree with the 3 star rating. I ordered the macaroni with chicken, slice of buffalo chicken pizza, and fries. The fries were the only thing I enjoyed. The pasta dish had plenty of chicken, but was very dry. The buffalo chicken didnt have much buffalo sauce and over all not very good. $20 for all of that was ok.

The only place on Thames to grab a late night bite (year-round) after the bars let out... In the summer, prepare for a line out the door, scantily clad chicks everywhere, and douchebag guys who are drunkenly looking to prove something (or trying to pick up a girl). I prefer the quality of Crazy Dough (lighter dough and better crust) but Crazy Dough has weird inconsistent hours in the off-season. DO avoid the fights that sometimes break out. DO avoid the bathroom (but I WILL share some wall art). And DO have the lasagna pizza. The dollops of ricotta cheese and beef are really good, especially when all you want is something to eat. The Newport Chicken pizza is really good too. Though there have been a couple times when the chicken tastes kinda strange/not totally cooked. The BBQ Chicken pizza, and the Buffalo Chicken pizza are really good too. Been coming here for years. It provides lots of laughs. A full tummy. And I've jumped off the docks across the street afterwards, which is always fun. Gotta live a little!

We couldn't leave Newport without trying Via Via ourselves. Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon around 2:30 pm and shared a slice of lobster pizza and the "Newport" (Chicken, spinach, tomato and ranch dressing drizzle). Both were terrific!
(5)
Sam R.
Place itself is beyond filthy! Food, napkins and black dirt on the floors. Flies flying around. Pizza is garbage. Could find better pizza anywhere.
(2)
Julie G.
Maybe you have found yourself scouring yelp for Newport restaurants serving food past midnight. Perhaps you have cabin fever during a blizzard. Well, Via Via is one of the few places that always seems to be there for you on such occasions. The pizza is New York style, which I am a fan of. The slices I have tried have been pretty greasy, even the plain cheese. I'd put the quality on par with mall food court pizza.. not necessarily the best pizza you can find in town, but good. They are usually open/deliver until 2am. Friendly owner. Large restaurant and menu. Fair prices.
(3)
Michael G.
Way too greasy, with cheap ingredients; the two slices I got didn't taste like much. I'd go to the grilled place down the street. Plus the guys at the counter couldn't care less about any of the customers ordering or waiting for their food, they just preferred to hit on the underage girls walking in and out.
(2)
Bryce C.
Decent pizza with terrible service by some employees. When we arrived it was well before the lunch rush and the man working the counter wouldn't even make eye contact with us, he just held up a hand and told us we would have to wait. There was no one else there and he didn't seem to be doing anything else. We just stood there for a little while. After we ordered he refused to hand over a receipt and wouldn't even answer my question of how long it would be. When the pizza did come out, it was pretty good. The female owner was really sweet though and she made up for her awful employee.
(3)
Tara K.
Greasy, and was given 2 cheese slices from different pies, one old and one new. Needless to say, the old slice was cold with congealed grease. Wouldn't go back.

The place was not as good as I have expected. They had a sigh of "best seafood in town" right in front of their window, and I was excited to try it out. But the seafood in their dishes was not even fresh, it was frozen for most of them. My boyfriend and I ordered alot of food. We orders a clam chowder, crab cake, lobster roll, shrimp salad and a lobster ravioli. The clam chowder was good, the crab cake was okay since the center of the cake was still frozen.

Stopped by Via Via on a walk through Newport last night. We had already had dinner, but had heard from my sister's friend that this place has the best pizza in Newport. I took at slice of lobster pizza to go, with the intention of eating it later. It looked and smelled so great that I ended up eating it while on our walk. The crust is crispy and flavorful with small chunks of lobsters sprinkled on the slice. There is just enough sauce and cheese, and the lobster flavor is infused throughout. Two slices will run you about $11 - not cheap, but totally great pizza!
(4)
Mindy T.
Not the best pizza, but what other options do you really have when the ovens aren't working at Crazy Dough's :(. Service is exactly like how everyone described in their reviews. Seems like a good place for drunken munchies because there aren't a lot of other food vendors open late night.
(2)
Jackson W.
Decent late night pizza. Extremely rude on the phones though. I think the high volume of customers gives them the idea that they can snap at you when you ask for a "supreme" (which costs $30 by the way). Pretty sketchy delivery drivers too. Also, hearing from kids who worked there over the summer, if somebody drops dough on the ground, they still make it into a pie anyway. Overall, impersonal and untrustworthy.
(2)

Just love the 4 cheese pizza, and the delivery people are so nice. I have been ordering pizza from them for years and they are consistently great. Wholeheartedly recommend!

Ordered some food to be delivered to my hotel tonight and I expressly told the guy who took my order to make sure silverware was included. He told me they ALWAYS do that for hotel deliveries. An hour later I get my delivery. No silverware. No marinara for the fried ravioli. No dressing for my salad. So I call. He says the guy will be right over. An hour after that, I get the stuff. It's 12:25am. Over 2 hours from when I ordered. Ridiculous!
(1)
Phonethip K.
Horrible service. Order was wrong. Order pasta without cheese, got a sandwich with cheese. They wanted me to pay the difference. They didn't get my small cheese pizza order. They had mtv ridiculous on the tv. There were several inappropriate videos aired. Don't go with family.
(1)
Alex G.
The only reason to douch up a chicken pocket with ranch dressing is if you are trying to hide the real taste of it...and this chicken pocket needed to have it's true taste hidden. Now I understand why they put ranch on it without asking. Gross.

All right pizza. Absolutely not worth the price however. Very much overpriced. The quality and taste is not remotely worth the price they charge ($16 for a large pepperoni) I can name 10 pizza joints right off the bat that are a quarter of the price (brick oven cooked included) that blow Via Via out of the water for taste and quality of ingredients. If anything this is the perfect place if your drunk or hung over and need some greasy food to hold you in. Pizza was not fully cooked through, dough still raw in some areas. Pepperoni was piss poor quality (for $16), cheese blend was good, sauce way too sweet and runny. Chicken tenders were good however the sauces left much to be desired (hot sauce was just Tabasco, which is typical for most places so I'm not shocked, and BBQ had the consistency of water however flavorful). They have so much room to improve to the sober eater.
(2)
Scott C.
Decent pizza for late night in Newport but kind of expensive for a slice. They have a bunch of different flavors and its not super greasy. I got the buffalo chicken pizza. I would have liked more buffalo sauce and the blue cheese was just kind of globed on there in random spots. Its not the best pizza but its still good and you wont be disappointed. Just a word of warning it becomes hot mess city in there once the bars close, although you get to overhear some fun conversations that make you question your faith in the future of humanity.

Rebecca W.
This place is good to get a slice of pizza after a long night at the bars, but that's about it. I ordered calamari for $12. I got approximately 5 pieces of super dried out chewy calamari and a full takeout box of fries. The most expensive side of fries I've ever seen. Very disappointed.

This is seriously one of the worst pieces of pizza I have ever eaten in my life. And it took a million years for it to be ready. I should have known better than to get pizza in Newport. NINE THUMBS DOWN
(1)
Aileen B.
So good! Best brick oven pizza and subs ( or as they call them, grinders) in Newport. Looking for a good lunch spot, we bypassed several hour long waits at about 10 restaurants. Walked a little farther down Thames and found this great place. Nothing fancy, but the food was awesome.
(5)
Matthew I.
Buffalo Pizza was great! But everything else was disgusting. Cheese tasted like it was thrown into a high schoolers locker. Service was pathetic. This place proves the saying looks can be deceiving. The outside looked like a nice, aging pizza place. But when you step inside it looks like a 4 year old decorated it. Don't recommend it.
(2)

delicious pizza and tons of cool toppings/specials on the menu. like some other reviewers, i too cant understand the bad reviews. but new englanders seem to love their cardboard-and-grease greek-style pizza so maybe that has something to do with it. this is yummy italian pizza and gets 2 thumbs up from me and hubby who are both from NY.
(5)
Carlos A.
Pizza is greasy and not in a good way. Dough is flimsy and unappetizing. Delivery, to a location under a mile away, took an hour for one large and one small pizza.
(1)
Damon P.
As good of a pizza that you will get in Newport (although Newport isn't exactly the "Mecca" for great pizza). Prices on the high side. Customer service not great. Initial order was not submitted to line so after calling back an hour later pizza was delivered about 90 minutes from original order. No discount or even coupons offered after this mistake.
(2)
Elizabeth A.
Toppings were really fresh, overall a very good pizza. Also convenient- they delivered to our hotel!

Felecia W.
Via Via.... WHY do you taunt me? You wait till Im all good n liquored up, then you start wavin' your smells all over the place like your all that. I hate you. I mean, I love you. Grrr... Like my love affair with Mauros in Hollywood, FL, you are now part of my nightly bad decisions. I mean, you should be honored. Its kind of a big deal to get taken home by me at 2am. ;)

Only stopped in for a slice. Service was quick pizza was average to slightly above. Crust was excellent.

Good greasy pizza. Cash only, but was exactly what I wanted on a Friday evening after walking around Newport.

This place is the PITS. We went to grab a quick slice and then head out to the cliff walk. We chose the place because it is centrally located and it had a cute "pizzeria" look with an old school ice cream parlor included. Sadly, the place is a dump. It was so filthy in there that we had to use wipes to wipe down the tables and chairs before sitting. We ordered regular slices which were tasteless and took over 20 minutes to be served. A slice never turned up, and when we asked, the guy at the cash register started blaming the kid who is supposed to put the slices in the oven. The worst part was the food poisoning one member of the group had barely an hour after eating the pizza. She was sick and had to rush to the bathroom several times - and it was definitely the Via Via pizza. BTW, their bathroom is also filthy. I wouldn't recommend this place at all.

Ok so the place is open late and packed.....however the quality and selection was horrible. The didnt have the first three choices we asked for. In desperation i went with a classic pepperoni. The pizza was sitting on pie plans on a counter and thin but soggy. In total we had seven slices for three people and no one was excited. The menu is huge and confussing....which likely means they do alot mediocre vs a little great. Which was evident by the taste of the slices. All in all wont go back again late night! Maybe made to order pizza is better. I should add this isnt my first pizza slice adventure and there are many places who do this well via via just isnt one of them.

At 2:00 a.m. on a Saturday night (er, Sunday morning...??), the scene at Via Via is a sure sign of the apocalypse. When the clubs and bars close, this is ground zero for the dazed, confused and incoherent masses that call Newport their summer playground. Wall to wall people, all bombed out of their minds, jostling for position in line to get a slice of extremely foul pizza. It only tastes good if your taste buds (along with the rest of your five senses) are numb and your stomach is crying out for solids after a relentless onslaught of liquids. My best pieces of advice, if you are brave enough to go to Via Via during the witching hour, are: do not wear shoes that you care about, and carry sanitizing wipes. I'm serious about this. A girl who I'd spotted urinating in a courtyard a few minutes before I arrived at Via Via was moments later, standing in front of me in line for pizza. Ick.
(2)
Kyle C.
Picked up a simple order for takeout and the guy at the counter scolded me for not knowing the order number "You really need to remember your order number...". Then he scolded me again when I didn't know that it was cash only "I told that to the person on the phone". Very rude, miserable person (wearing green shirt on 7/13). Food was unimpressive. I wouldn't visit again.
(1)
Chris K.
Gross place but there aren't a whole lot of late night options in Newport. This is the only place that can cure your hangover. People are pushing and screaming and fighting for slices that costs way too much but no one notices since they are hammered. I have been here about 7-8 times, and all of those times I was thoroughly drunk. I would not come here sober, but if you need something to save yourself from a nasty hangover then this is your only option. For being open late and putting up with drunk people I give two stars

I made yelp just to talk about this pizza. It was honestly the best pizza I've ever gotten, better then New York pizza and that really means something. Everyone in there is polite and create a funny atmosphere. It's completely packed at 2a.m. and the pizza is still good. This is the only place I order from it's clean and fantastic. I go in with my boyfriend all the time and honestly we don't know what we would do with out this place. Way better then the pizza on the rest of the block that's for sure! They deliver all day and I'm pretty sure they are open till 2a.m. every day too. Check this place out, they know how to make food!
(5)
C B.
We were told by a local that this was the only place she knew of to order food late night. There is a vast rating difference on Yelp than there was on Google. Took about an hour if not more to get to our hotel and the pizza was really cold. It was probably tied with the worst pizza I've ever eaten. I guess they don't use boxes to keep the pizza warm...thus as a courtesy to patrons please do not offer the delivery option.

Via Via is a Newport 2am staple. After a long day in the sun and a longer night drinking on your new friend's yacht, their pizza is a must on your way home. Is the food good? Who knows. I wouldn't have it in daylight, but I sure appreciate it as I stumble home :)
(3)
Emma S.
I lived in Newport for two summers and ViaVia always happened to be on my walk home at night. BBQ chicken pizza is the way to go. As good as a greasy late night piece of food can get!
(4)
Viralyn K.
The one awesome thing about this place is that it stays open until 2am, an hour after all the bars close. Being located right on Thames, in the middle of the bar scene and on everyone's stumble back home, what can be better? The pizza is perfect after a long period of drinking - filling, cheesey, flavorful. They have so many different options for pizza and pizza served by the slice, I believe you can also enjoy a beer here. I also saw other drinks being offered like espressos, smoothies, coffees as well as desserts like cheesecake and red velvet cake.
(3)
David L.
Place is a complete dump, employees are absolute douchebags. If your drunk and can't tell your head from your ass this place is the place for you. Once you hit that drunk moment where you don't care what you eat and what you pay for it, this will be your favorite spot. If I could give negative stars I would but unfortunately yelp hasn't realized the need for negative stars.

How I miss Via Via Buffalo Chicken Pizza out on San Francisco. I was reminiscing with a fellow ex-Rhode Islander recently and sincerely miss those dollops of blue cheese in my buffalo slice.

I wish there was a zero star option because that is what I would choose. I have been going to Newport for years and every summer Via Via gets progressively worse. The pizza this year has been so grossly undercooked I have made the switch to Pizza Hollywood. I'm sad Roll Your Own went out of business because that was another nice option.

The clock struck 11 PM, and my fate was sealed. The hotel's restaurant was closed, and here I was, needing a snack. The bartender recommended Via Via, so I ordered 12 pieces of chicken tenders with BBQ sauce, for delivery. The food arrived quickly, but was by far the worst chicken strips I have ever had. Our plastic forks couldn't even cut them. They were stringy, had no BBQ taste, and appeared to have been hastily reheated after being pulled from the abyss in the "restaurant's" freezer. My buddies and I attempted to eat a few, but gave up. I called the restaurant to complain, and was offered only a 50% refund... By the way, I paid $23 for 12 pieces of chicken strips. To add insult to injury, the restaurant sent the driver to pick up the leftovers. I presume they intended to try to resell them to some other unsuspecting visitor.

They deliver! Until 1 AM. Pretty awesome. They also carry Lobster Pizza and the Margherita with Pesto. My only gripe was the pizza crust was a little burnt.
(4)

I live around the corner an eat their lobster bisque regularly, the best in Newport in my experience and very inexpensive! Tonight I ordered pizza for me and my friends and we communally decided it was some of the best pizza we had EVER ate! For what it is it is the best bang for your buck!

Not worth it. Seriously disappointing- and I was starving so almost anything would have tasted good. They don't even have parm.

What!!!!??? I cannot believe the reviews that Via Via is getting. Their pizza is the best on the island! They offer pizza by the slice too! I've been there while not under the influence of intoxicating beverages, and I can vouch that the food was delicious. I would have given it 5 stars, but the place is a shithole. Yeah I said it!....The dirty chairs and tables wobble (again I was not under the influence), I wouldn't dare use the bathroom, but if you are getting delivery or pickup, and your house is not a shithole, then you sir or miss will have a 5 star experience!

Taste is good. Place has a vast menu specialize in pizza. Open till 2 am everyday great.
(3)
Ali R.
I give you 3 stars instead of 2 because you were open at 1am when I needed you. The pizza was actually pretty good, nice and chewy. I stuck with a plain cheese pizza. What I loved about this place was that my pizza took 30 seconds to come out. What I didn't love about this place, was that they charged me $2.43 for an bottle of iced tea. This place was pretty weird though and it was the first place I ate when I went to Rhode Island. Half of it is a pizza place, and the other half is a GMC/protein bar? It's a strange combination and I didn't really understand, but it was 1am and I was starving.

ive been going here for 20 years and mohamed (the owner) is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet i get the buffalo slices all the time, a common misconception is that its blueu cheese globbed on there (its fresh melted mozzarella) 2 slices are as big as a small pizza at most places and will cost ya like 6 bucks cant tell you how many times they let me get 2 for 3$ though when your money management skills are hampered by hard drinking but i also often go for lunch they keep it nice and cool for a place with a 5 ton brick oven thats like 800 degrees, and the staff will bend over backwards to get you whatever you ask for, this place is a newport tradition and mohamed is a true american success story
(5)
Chris P.
This place is disgusting, overpriced, and unsanitary. Also the employees have to deal with drunk people all night, so they are intolerant unsavory characters. There are frequently fights here, so the cops hang out too. Gnaw on your belt like a POW, that's probably better.
(1)
Yavonka G.
Love, love , love this place! Just moved here in Feb and I am hooked on their cheese pizza.
(5)
Chris H.
As other reviewers have pointed out, this place is a dive. That being said, the pizza is delicious and it is open late for the bar crowd. I work overnight in the city, and we frequently head by for a slice and to check out the "scenery". They also have an extensive seafood menu, but I'm sticking to pizza. Try the bbq chicken pizza, it's the best!
(3)
Amy C.
YUM! No reviews yet- I can't believe it! This is another institution that if you are out for a night in Newport- Via Via is a must! Granted- most of the time I have been here has been after a long night out on the town, but at that time in the morning everyone wants some greasy over-priced pizza to end their evening! There is always long lines so be ready to wait!
(3)
Aaron B.
In retrospect, going into this place for any reason other than drunk munchies was a mistake. Trying their seafood dishes was certainly one of the more regrettable decisions I've made. Their prices are high- we're talking $12-14 dollars for an entree, similar to the prices you would pay at an actual restaurant, the kind of place where pasta comes on plates, not in an aluminum tray. The food quality was worse than many cafeteria lunches I've had in days past. The service, if you can even call shouting a number out service, was awful. Just avoid this place, especially if anything else in Newport is open.

hard to comment on via via pizza b/c i don't think i've ever eaten it sober, i don't think ANYONE has ever eaten there sober. i will say this: if it's late-night, you've had a few cocktails, & you need a quick snack before going home & going to bed -- this will do the trick.

Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

(1)Cherie Z.
(2)Bob G.
(1)Karis O.
I legitimately will only go here if: 1.) I've done several car bombs at O'Brien's Pub and I'm not thinking clearly 2.) Pizza Hollywood and Crazy Dough are closed or 3.) Everyone from Salve is inside and it looks like a rager
(1)Meghan M.
(2)Chloe P.
Average pizza, awful service. The older man that handles most of the pizzas is just unpleasant. He treats the establishment as a factory and screams out orders. There was confusion over our order and he swore at us. He was extremely unprofessional and rude. I will not be returning for a cold, very average slice of pizza.
(1)Ryan L.
(3)A Z.
(3)Sandra T.
(1)Kevin G.
Only place I could find to deliver. The wings and chicken Caesar salad were awesome! The pizza was average to good. All in all I would definitely order from them again next time I visit.
(4)Gary W.
Weird tasting food, at least their pizza. Next time I'll try their Middle East menu rather than their Mediterranean one--they're neither Italian nor Greek.
(1)Marissa S.
Pizza saves the day. After a long day of sight seeing in Newport, my friends and family just wanted to relax and stay in. So Via Via it was! The pizza was fresh and delicious. It's not too greasy, it doesn't have too many toppings - it is just a great pizza place!
(4)E W.
(5)Kim B.
(3)Holly S.
(4)Michelle R.
(3)Tony C.
Average pizza, but they also have a menu of other items for you to select from. This is a decent stop if you don't want to spend a fortune on lunch as prices are high around Newport for a meal. Make sure you have cash as they don't take credit cards.
(3)Lee D.
(1)Em L.
(3)Sydney S.
So gross.
(1)Melissa M.
(3)Meagan L.
(3)Diana K.
We couldn't leave Newport without trying Via Via ourselves. Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon around 2:30 pm and shared a slice of lobster pizza and the "Newport" (Chicken, spinach, tomato and ranch dressing drizzle). Both were terrific!
(5)Sam R.
Place itself is beyond filthy! Food, napkins and black dirt on the floors. Flies flying around. Pizza is garbage. Could find better pizza anywhere.
(2)Julie G.
(3)Michael G.
Way too greasy, with cheap ingredients; the two slices I got didn't taste like much. I'd go to the grilled place down the street. Plus the guys at the counter couldn't care less about any of the customers ordering or waiting for their food, they just preferred to hit on the underage girls walking in and out.
(2)Bryce C.
(3)Tara K.
Greasy, and was given 2 cheese slices from different pies, one old and one new. Needless to say, the old slice was cold with congealed grease. Wouldn't go back.
(1)Julianne Y.
(3)Linda F.
(4)Mindy T.
Not the best pizza, but what other options do you really have when the ovens aren't working at Crazy Dough's :(. Service is exactly like how everyone described in their reviews. Seems like a good place for drunken munchies because there aren't a lot of other food vendors open late night.
(2)Jackson W.
(2)Katie H.
Just love the 4 cheese pizza, and the delivery people are so nice. I have been ordering pizza from them for years and they are consistently great. Wholeheartedly recommend!
(5)Molly A.
Ridiculous!
(1)Phonethip K.
Horrible service. Order was wrong. Order pasta without cheese, got a sandwich with cheese. They wanted me to pay the difference. They didn't get my small cheese pizza order. They had mtv ridiculous on the tv. There were several inappropriate videos aired. Don't go with family.
(1)Alex G.
The only reason to douch up a chicken pocket with ranch dressing is if you are trying to hide the real taste of it...and this chicken pocket needed to have it's true taste hidden. Now I understand why they put ranch on it without asking. Gross.
(2)Stephen D.
(2)Scott C.
(3)Rebecca W.
This place is good to get a slice of pizza after a long night at the bars, but that's about it. I ordered calamari for $12. I got approximately 5 pieces of super dried out chewy calamari and a full takeout box of fries. The most expensive side of fries I've ever seen. Very disappointed.
(1)Alexis G.
This is seriously one of the worst pieces of pizza I have ever eaten in my life. And it took a million years for it to be ready. I should have known better than to get pizza in Newport. NINE THUMBS DOWN
(1)Aileen B.
So good! Best brick oven pizza and subs ( or as they call them, grinders) in Newport. Looking for a good lunch spot, we bypassed several hour long waits at about 10 restaurants. Walked a little farther down Thames and found this great place. Nothing fancy, but the food was awesome.
(5)Matthew I.
(2)Marina D.
delicious pizza and tons of cool toppings/specials on the menu. like some other reviewers, i too cant understand the bad reviews. but new englanders seem to love their cardboard-and-grease greek-style pizza so maybe that has something to do with it. this is yummy italian pizza and gets 2 thumbs up from me and hubby who are both from NY.
(5)Carlos A.
Pizza is greasy and not in a good way. Dough is flimsy and unappetizing. Delivery, to a location under a mile away, took an hour for one large and one small pizza.
(1)Damon P.
(2)Elizabeth A.
Toppings were really fresh, overall a very good pizza. Also convenient- they delivered to our hotel!
(4)Felecia W.
Its kind of a big deal to get taken home by me at 2am. ;)
(4)Jeff W.
Only stopped in for a slice. Service was quick pizza was average to slightly above. Crust was excellent.
(3)Robert C.
Good greasy pizza. Cash only, but was exactly what I wanted on a Friday evening after walking around Newport.
(4)GKB G.
(1)J R.
(2)Rebecca H.
Ick.
(2)Kyle C.
(1)Chris K.
(2)Bella M.
(5)C B.
(2)Rachel D.
Via Via is a Newport 2am staple. After a long day in the sun and a longer night drinking on your new friend's yacht, their pizza is a must on your way home. Is the food good? Who knows. I wouldn't have it in daylight, but I sure appreciate it as I stumble home :)
(3)Emma S.
I lived in Newport for two summers and ViaVia always happened to be on my walk home at night. BBQ chicken pizza is the way to go. As good as a greasy late night piece of food can get!
(4)Viralyn K.
(3)David L.
(1)Cole W.
How I miss Via Via Buffalo Chicken Pizza out on San Francisco. I was reminiscing with a fellow ex-Rhode Islander recently and sincerely miss those dollops of blue cheese in my buffalo slice.
(5)RF K.
(1)Dan B.
(1)Carlie C.
They deliver! Until 1 AM. Pretty awesome. They also carry Lobster Pizza and the Margherita with Pesto. My only gripe was the pizza crust was a little burnt.
(4)Baron F.
I live around the corner an eat their lobster bisque regularly, the best in Newport in my experience and very inexpensive! Tonight I ordered pizza for me and my friends and we communally decided it was some of the best pizza we had EVER ate! For what it is it is the best bang for your buck!
(4)Daisy H.
Not worth it. Seriously disappointing- and I was starving so almost anything would have tasted good. They don't even have parm.
(1)Food C.
(4)Amar P.
Taste is good. Place has a vast menu specialize in pizza. Open till 2 am everyday great.
(3)Ali R.
(3)bob c.
ive been going here for 20 years and mohamed (the owner) is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet i get the buffalo slices all the time, a common misconception is that its blueu cheese globbed on there (its fresh melted mozzarella) 2 slices are as big as a small pizza at most places and will cost ya like 6 bucks cant tell you how many times they let me get 2 for 3$ though when your money management skills are hampered by hard drinking but i also often go for lunch they keep it nice and cool for a place with a 5 ton brick oven thats like 800 degrees, and the staff will bend over backwards to get you whatever you ask for, this place is a newport tradition and mohamed is a true american success story
(5)Chris P.
This place is disgusting, overpriced, and unsanitary. Also the employees have to deal with drunk people all night, so they are intolerant unsavory characters. There are frequently fights here, so the cops hang out too. Gnaw on your belt like a POW, that's probably better.
(1)Yavonka G.
Love, love , love this place! Just moved here in Feb and I am hooked on their cheese pizza.
(5)Chris H.
(3)Amy C.
YUM! No reviews yet- I can't believe it! This is another institution that if you are out for a night in Newport- Via Via is a must! Granted- most of the time I have been here has been after a long night out on the town, but at that time in the morning everyone wants some greasy over-priced pizza to end their evening!
