Ice cream is top notch... Very rich and creamy. The homemade waffle cone is a must - no question about it! What really takes this place to greater heights is the service. The staff enough people to keep a long line moving quickly, which is key during peak summer hours.

Quite frankly the Best ice cream place in RI. Lots of variety and the ice cream is killer! Great price for the portion size. A positive experience every time.
(5)Melissa S.
There are few things in life that bring me more joy than ice cream. Brickley's is amazing. As a true RI girl I do not like to drive more than 10 minutes to get anywhere but this ice cream is worth the 30 or so minute drive on its own. Homemade perfection, so many flavors. You must, must, must have the waffle bowls or cones when you go. They don't take cards but there is an ATM on location if you are not prepared.
(5)Brenda W.
Loved this place. Variety of flavors and soft serve. Warning if you order the large soft serve ice cream, be prepared it's giant. Definitely get your monies worth.
(4)Ruthe L.
Such a great place to grab some ice cream. Friendly staff, good treats!
(5)Sarah A.
This might be the best ice cream place I've been to.. Whether it's the smell of home made waffle cones when you walk thru the door, or the fresh hard and soft serve ice cream, you will fall in love. It's ALWAYS packed, so expect to wait in line. There is , however, a lot of outdoor seating available. It might be more expensive than other local places, but I guarantee you won't be disappointed with paying a few bucks more..
(5)Heather K.
A visit to Narragansett isn't complete without stopping at Brickley's! The homemade ice cream is the absolute best. When you walk in you are embraced by the delicious smell of their homemade waffle cones made right in front of you. The service is quick and efficient, don't be deterred by the lines in the summer you won't be waiting long! Chocolate Brownie, Coffee Chip, Maple Walnut and Malted Milk-ball are among some really great flavors to try. The price is very reasonable considering how large a scoop is! A scoop (or two) of Brickley's is the perfect way to end a summers night.
(5)Elizabeth S.
Best ice cream I've ever had! So smooth and the flavors (coffee chip and bing cherry for me) and black raspberry for my husband were amazing! Can't believe I have lived in jamestown for 3 years and had never been. It is cash only but they have an ATM there. They make the ice cream there daily and it shows! Don't miss!
(5)Amy V.
Omg- heaven in a cup! I've lived in RI more than half of my life and I can't believe this was my first time. When you walk in it smells like a real ice cream shop. Staff is quick and friendly and portions are decent. I cannot wait to return!
(5)William C.
There are a few things to tell you you are at a top-quality New England ice cream place. There is a long line, but the line moves quickly. The air is suffused with the smell of vanilla as they make their waffle cones. There is often a police officer directing traffic. This place didn't have the cop, but it had everything else. The waffle cone was thick, crunchy, and got better and better to the bottom of the cone. There are a jillion flavors, most of them excellent. They usually have a local version of ice creams: here it was blackberry, and excellent. (The blueberry came from frozen blueberries, and wasn't worth it.) Some of the best: the Heath bar crunch had massive chunks of Heath bar. As other reviewers mentioned, the peanut butter and Oreo flavors were top notch. I'd love to go back and try the vanilla. One note: the chocolate sprinkles were not worth it. They should find something better. This was definitely up there with the greats, Like the Sundae School in Chatham, the Juice Bar on Nantucket, and Toscanini's in Boston.

yum
(5)Meghan M.
Best ice cream around. I wish you had weekend hours in the winter.
(5)Gail B.
Brickley's is probably the gold standard for ice cream in RI. Great flavors (the coffee is one of the best I've had and the ginger is subtle but oh so good), reasonable prices and a creamy texture that is worth the drive from Warwick any day. Never had the soft serve - not interested with flavors like these! Extra points for: super polite and fast service and a large parking lot that is designed for lots of traffic. Update: went and had the sugar free coffee ice cream. I must have asked them 3x if they were sure I got the sugar free stuff - it was that delish!
(5)Samantha M.
Brickley's ice cream is like no other. They have a ton of great flavors to choose from but I am forever a traditionalist and always get strawberry ice cream which is smooth, creamy and insanely good. You can taste every ingredient as the ice cream melts in your mouth. The waffle cones are great as well, not dry or chewy but with just the right texture. When you walk into Brickley's you cant help but smile and feel good because the scent of fresh waffles being made in front of you are so intoxicating. Love it here!!
(5)Sandra S.
Upon entry, we were cheerfully greeted by two lovely ladies with smiles. I was happy to find out that they make all of their ice cream on site. The ladies were very patient as I tried two flavors before settling on chocolate malt ball. It was creamy and delicious, without that film that some ice cream leaves in your mouth. The cone was also fresh and in pristine shape. I love this shop and will make sure to visit every time I head to Rhode Island.
(5)Robert M.
Really, this is my second Brickley's in two days. The wife and daughter made me go both times. That is my story and I am sticking to it. I think I prefer the one ion main street, but this one was built for moving folks along and out the door in an orderly fashion, efficiently. So still, same fantastic ice cream.
(5)Alfred A.
I went there Friday night for some ice cream following a drive to the coast at night. When I got there about 5 cars were in the lot, but upon finishing my ice cream in my truck there must have been about 25 cars in the lot! The ice cream is incredible, excellent quality and flavor. Prices are a little higher than in the city, but you're going to pay a little more near the beach anyway. I thought the small might be too small at first, but turns out it was like 4 normal scoops of ice cream! I can see why its so popular, and the aroma of hot fudge in the building was awesome also.
(5)Samir P.
If you needed yet another reason to move to Narragansett, RI -- well, you've found it. This is has to be one of the freshest tasting ice creams I've had. All natural, all good, and flavors that have a nice ting but does not overwhelm. It may look pricey at $4, but you get a lot of goodness. I had a couple of samplings, and went with the ginger. It was awesome!! Also - being from Jersey - this is a nice local place to check out and see the lingo used. I already forgot ...but i remember they had words to describe a pint or a quart...or diff scoopings. Don't remember the deets unfortunately (went in August and have been meaning to do a writeup). But yeah - next time I'm in the area...i'll probably hit this place first instead of the beach. And I'm trying to convince my wife to move here so we can be closer to the ice cream...but she ain't going for it.....oh well...i'll have the memories.
(4)Philippe D.
Yesterday we shown up 5 min after 9h30 and they were closing. We were a party of 6. Thank you to the manager who re-opened the door and serve those hungry customer 5 stars Forster service
(5)Justin C.
This is the most perfect ice cream, texturally, that I have ever eaten. The creaminess is very close to custard, without being so thick as to taste like butter. I was so worried I wouldn't make it here on time, after the miserable waitstaff at Spain ( yelp.com/biz/spain-of-na… ) managed to delay my arrival by close to an hour with their poor service. Thankfully I made it in just before they locked the doors, and they let me weigh my flavor options without feeling pressured even though I was keeping them from going home, so refreshing after the previous place. I saw they also let some old grandpa come in even after I walked out and was eating out on the picnic table, very friendly kids! I decided to go with a triple scoop of flavors: oreo, coconut, and ginger. While all three are drastically different in flavor profile, it didn't seem strange at all to have them paired. Oreo has long been one of my favorite flavors, as has coconut, but I think I discovered a new gem in the ginger. It was so refreshing with a hint of tang that really played nicely off the other two sweeter flavors. I only wish I had ordered three different colored flavors (especially the black raspberry, it looked awesome) so that you could see from the picture ( yelp.com/biz_photos/NYZW… ) how good this stuff is. Whether you're out at the beach, or just visiting one of the coastal towns nearby, this place is absolutely worth a stop. I wish we had ice cream this good in DC! Best of all, it's really cheap too.
(5)Michael G.
Brickley's Ice Cream & Cakes has the best ice cream in Rhode Island. Hands down. I had the Orange Sherbet. First, no ice cream place ever has orange sherbet except for Friendly's. The fact that had it made me so happy. Second, the Orange Sherbet was A-MAZ-ING. Yes, i just hyphenated that word and I make fun of people doing that all the time. That's how good the sherbet was. Reasonably priced as well. My Waffle Cone was under $4. Though I did not get sprinkles. Note, their small waffle cone is NOT a small. It is in fact a medium to large serving. I wonder how big the large truly is. Next time. And there will be a next time.
(5)Amanda C.
Whoa Ho Ho, It's Magic! You Knooowwwww! This place is freaking amazing! They should bottle the waffle cone scent in the air! It smells so good inside! They have so many flavors to choose from, hard ice cream and yogurt! I had the Coffee Heath Yogurt. It was creamy and had huge pieces of Heath bars. My friend had the Mint Oreo. The mint was not overpowering and the oreo was generous. She had a cone, and they are homemade! The prices are great too! Only $4.20 for a large ice cream and $4.39 if you want it in a cone. They only accept cash or check, but if you forget, they do have an ATM in the shop. Please stop by if you have a chance and sit on the awesome picnic tables!
(5)Casey J.
As soon as my friend and I opened the door we both dropped our jaws and murmured a simultaneous "OH MY GOD." This place smells like heaven. They were making the waffle cones right then and there in front of my eyes. If that doesn't instantly make you want ice cream I don't know what will. I had the birthday cake flavor with rainbow sprinkles. It was sooo good. Delicious, creamy, smooth - oh wait, where am I? I lost myself in that shiz. Definitely make a pit stop after beach bumming.
(5)Lynn C.
Still just a great place! Super friendly staff- they always have a smile for you! Ice cream is great and the line moves quickly!
(5)M E.
OMG, it doesn't get any better. Skip dinner and go to Brickley's. You'll love it.
(5)Pete V.
Amazing home-made ice cream. The frozen yoghurt options were delicious (and of course the ice cream is delicious too). Try the coffee heath bar froyo!
(5)Holly L.
Awesome. That one word sums Brickley's up. Their home made waffle cones are delicious and I haven't tried one flavor I didn't like!
(4)Ted D.
I have trouble making this a treat and not being here 3x a day for Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner! A wide array of flavors available, excellent waffle cones made on site (and at times right in front of you), My kids and I inevitably make visits at least once a weekend when we are down in the area. My favorite is the Lemon Ice Cream. I have found that some people find the chocolate too rich; but it seems just fine to me. They also have a location on Main St in Wakefield. A MUST during the hot days of summer!
(5)Wing L.
Freshly in-house waffle cones? No frills? Great ice cream? Triple check! Enough said.
(5)Ari C.
Brickley's is as good as it gets in Rhode Island in terms of Ice Cream. My advice: get a waffle cone if you're not on a diet. They're homemade. My favorite flavor is strawberry. They also have other great flavors, but peach is probably the worst one they have, based on experience. Their remake of Howard Johnson's famed Peppermint Stick isn't half bad. As for the standard flavors, I guess it's hard to screw up chocolate and vanilla. Their other location in Wakefield is also nice. I always get dessert here on my way back to Providence from George's of Galilee. My one problem with Brickley's is that there's often a big line and the service isn't exactly stellar. A word to the wise: they sell pints. To go.
(5)Lily C.
I have to hit Brickley's whenever I'm in Newport. The moment you walk through the door, you smell the heavenly scent of waffle cones. I would typically opt for a sugar cone but resistance was futile. I went for a small waffle cone, which was HUGE for a small and I could have two flavors. I had "Malted Chocolate and Heath Bar". OMG, creamy, fresh and perfection. My husband had the Sweet Cream and Peach...also a home run. It's a good thing there isn't a Brickley's near where I live. Oh and the service? Excellent. There was a long line out the door but we were served within 5 minutes but the friend and able "kids" behind the counter. I love Brickley's.
(5)Robert B.
No wait time. I had a large choc coconut almond. It was like a parade of deliciousness in my mouth! Prompt service. Plenty of picnic tables to sit down and enjoy your fabulous ice cream. Shaded or not. I'll definitely be coming back. Especially after spending the day at the beach. The disappointment is that they only accept cash. Which is unacceptable for 2011. I guess I can go out of my way to eat some great ice cream ; ). Enjoy!
(5)Sarah T.
Chris is awesome. He's the new guy on the job (I could tell because the other workers were telling him where each flavor was located). And he was very generous with the samples! It proved to be slightly daunting with the extensive list of flavors on the wall. Butter Brickley, Maple Walnut, Coffee, Peach, Oreo, Peppermint, Pistachio, Grape-Nut...to name a few. I picked up a scoop of the Apple Pie in a waffle cone (waffle cone is highly recommended). Steve got a Mint Oreo + Butter Pecan combo. Mmmm! The next twenty minutes was consumed with cone-licking fun. There's just something hearty about the ice cream--the use of fresh cream and it wasn't inundated with fake flavorings or wimpy things like that. Just good and solid creamy goodness. And the waffle cone mixing in was nothing to complain about. Recommended. Take up a cone and stroll down the street and across the river. Good day trip.
(5)Ann T.
My aunt use to take my brother and I here when we were little kids when we would visit Rhode Island. I would get soooo excited cause it was my fave ice cream place EVER! I would always get a banana split even though it was bigger than me! Well it has been EIGHT YEARS since I have been to RI. As soon as I got here I knew what I wanted :) It was just like I remembered! Sooooo good! Peppermint stick was my fave then and still is now. If you have a craving for something cold and sweet, look no further. It's consistently delicious and satisfying! I can promise I will be back many times before another 8 years pass by!
(5)Andrew A.
This ice cream is awesome! Now I normally get Cookies and Creme, the vital key is that you mix the Cookies with the Vanilla Ice Cream while the Ice Cream is being made. Some other shops only add Cookies to Vanilla after the fact, hence you get a whole bunch of Vanilla an little pieces of Oreo. Brickley's does the proper method and the Cookies and Creme is out of this world...my only hope is that Summer ends and I don't gain 5 pounds eating this stuff. Also they Yogurt Ice Cream is very very good. Positives: 1. Many Flavors and properly made with lots of love and care 2. Oreo is made the right way! 3. Yogurt is very well made and creamy - with no aftertaste - especially the Raspberry Chocolate Chip 4. They have a kids size if your on a diet that's smaller than the regular small 5. Even with long line the wait is very short due to fast and friendly staff 6. Locally owned and operated Negatives 1. Sometimes at beginning of season they have a bit of freezer burn - but this only happened once 2. No Credit Card Accepted - in this cashless society it's tough to get cash - they do have ATM on premises
(5)Chris M.
The ice cream here is extra creamy. I guess you could call this creamy Danish ice cream. Mine was just a little icey. If you love to savor cream, this might be the place for you. If you're from out of state, and coming from Newport, you have to pay $8 in tolls to cross the Newport bridge. It is an amazing bridge though. Very tall. And Narragansett seems like a very fertile area.
(4)Bill S.
Yippee, Spring is here. Brickley's in Narragansett opened today. The best ice cream in Rhode Island.
(5)Toni M.
I can't get away from this place and their waffle cones- even in the hurricane alst weekend made a trip down here for the smell and taste of the waffle cone. The peanut butter is my favorite flavor by itself, but when ordering a waffle cone i recommend going with something not so overpowering- the cake batter, chocolate chip, or chocolate mix well.
(5)Mark S.
We went on vacation to Scarborough beach for the week with some family and friends. Had Brickleys ice cream 4 times! Wow, great place! The delicious aroma of sweet ice cream hits you as soon as you open the door. All kinds of great flavors and the BEST sprinkles/Jimmys! Outside seating: Standard picnic tables in front and a couple under a big green tent. Good enough for a big party. Cons: Too far from the vacationers in Scarborough and on a Main drag.
(4)Abby P.
Brickley's (both locations) are incredible. Good prices, wide selection, and opened most of the year. I ranked it 4 stars only because this is my second favorite ice cream place.
(4)Felecia W.
Oh Brickley's how I love you... My mom always talks me into a cone when I come home to visit and every single time, I am happy she did. I love their banana ice cream, and their reg chocolate is to die for. Sometimes I get wild and get both on one cone! Do it. Its awesome, and worth the wait in line. (there is also one in Wakefield now on Main St, AND one in the Pier!!) Go Brickely's!
(5)S Y.
A life goal of mine is to try all the homemade flavors because I know they are all going to blow my mind. I'm going to do it, I swear. ....but right now I'm obsessed with Coffee Heath froyo and I don't have any interest in moving on to the next flavor. What am I to do?! This is literally going to take me a lifetime. The boyfriend always gets double scoop chocolate in the waffle cone, made on premise. The chocolate tastes like an old-fashioned chocolate milkshake. Oh and that smell of fresh waffle cones! Gets me every time. His parents love Black Raspberry, which is so uniquely delicious. A friend raves about the Coffee Oreo, calling it the most genius flavor ever. You just can't go wrong here.
(5)Neil B.
Some of the best ice cream I have ever tasted at very fair prices. Usually my girlfriend can not finish and I get what's left, but not here! We live in Brooklyn and I have family in RI which is lucky for me, otherwise I would have to drive 3 1/2 hours just for ice cream!
(5)Denise L.
Best ice cream! Great after a ride on the bike path or any time. Family favorites include ginger, chocolate chip, coffee chip, and any of the Oreo combinations. Their cabinets are thick & delicious. The "small" is a decent size. They do have a "kid" size that's not listed on their board. Don't pass it up if there's a long line. It moves quickly.
(5)Jon B.
For coffee ice cream I would rate it a very good third place behind The Daily Scoop and Grays Ice Cream in Tiverton which was my number one for 30 years until finding Daily Scoop recently...
(4)David H.
Ice cream treat after a day at the beach. Great variety of flavors - raspberry sorbet, butter pecan, cookies and cream, and orange sherbet scoops for a family of four. Ample parking lot, fast service, clean bathrooms and a water fountain. Can't ask for more from a local ice cream shop.
(5)Jason B.
This was a nice find on the drive back from Naragansett to Providence. My wife is the ice cream expert, and she recommends coming back. Standard roadside ice cream shop offerings, and huge cones.
(4)Carly E.
ive been going here every summer since i can remember! anytime i bring friends to my beach house i always make it necessary to come here. one time i went in, i asked one of the servers to just surprise me because i was so indecisive. very professionally he asked if i had any allergies, which is very important to ask nowadays. he made me some sort of chocolate and strawberry concotion! absolutely amazing! i wish i caught his name so he could claim credit to my great experience, which was less than a year ago and i can still remember it!
(5)Erin C.
It's tough to choose between Brickley's and Gray's, but I have to say that Brickley's offers what is probably the best ice cream in Rhode Island. They convinced me that Grape-Nut ice cream was actually incredibly delicious, and they convinced my New England-hating parents that there was actually something worthwhile in this state. The ice cream is wonderful, the portions are huge and cheap, and the staff is always super-friendly. What more do you need to convince yourself?
(5)J. R. H.
Didn't wait until June for a review this year -- Took some exchange students from France here so they could see what summer is all about, even in April. C'est Manifique! Lemon and Ginger is a tough combo to beat.
(5)K H.
If you like ice cream this is the place to go. Especially the coffee chip, OMG it's so good. And those homemade waffle cones are the absolute best. You won't be able to eat any other type of cone after one of those. Flavor, texture, service, it's all good!
(5)Chris P.
Amazing homemade with great flavor and texture. I recommend anything with berry flavor!
(5)David F.
This review will be short and sweet. Some of the best ice cream I have ever had. The flavor were so pure and the texture was to die for. If you are traveling in the area you have to stop by.
(5)Jeff P.
This is probably the best ice cream I've ever had. It's a very modest building and there is definitely no seating plus you usually have to wait in line for upwards of 30 min on a hot summer night, but it's beyond worth it. You have your choice of a variety of homemade flavors that you can get in the usual cup, cone, or even a cabinet (that's rhode speak for a milk shake). Black Raspberry is my fav, along with coffee. No add-in's or mixers here. You get the scoop and nothing but the scoop. Additionally, they do a little something special here...fresh made waffle cones. That's right, batter goes into a waffle iron, they fold the cone into it's familiar shape, then your scoop goes right in to this warm, crunchy goodness. Need I say more?
(5)Julian W.
Fantastic texture for homemade icecream, and there's no fatty mouth-feel afterwards that some places tend to have, and there's NO ice grains or grittiness that the rest seem to have. Smooth and perfectly sweet, I actually haven't strayed from the maple pecan in the two visits I've been there--though I really ought to. It is really, really, really good stuff. No joke, and I NEVER give 5 star reviews. The employees are friendly and the building itself is very rustic and charming, and the best part: they open REALLY late for a place in the boonies. Both times we went, we were prepared to be disappointed and both times we were surprised and relieved to find it open! Now if they would only open up shop in California...
(5)Rajah K.
Pretty good ice cream here!!! Not sure that i prefer it over another local favorite "inside scoop" but it is still really good and has a nice little husband and wife story about it to that's pretty cool. waffle cones are a must they are so good and these are fresh made it's all you smell as you get out of your car!!!
(4)Nan W.
Brickley's has swiftly become part of our family's annual summer ritual. After a lingering afternoon playing at Sand Hill Cove, followed by fish & chips at sunset on the deck at George's of Galilee, we wend our way slowly homeward along the Shore Road (Rte 1A), enjoying the view of the bay and the lovely summer homes, then the gorgeous tower of Narragansett, before the pilgrimage ends at Brickley's. The smell of the fresh-baked waffle cones is itself enough to drive you mad as you wait in line, perusing the long list of flavors and struggling to decide between coffee chip and maple walnut (a favorite). The texture and flavor are superb. Do splurge and get the waffle cone. My only whine is that if you, like I, regard peaches as the next thing to God, you will be disappointed by Brickley's ice creamification of that fruit. It tasted artificial, even if it wasn't. Definitely worth the trip.
(5)Christopher F.
Wow, the ice cream here continues to be the best I have ever had. The ice cream is creamy and homemade, with special flavors that are hard to find such as black raspberry. Some favorites: butter brickley, chocolate with oreo, regular chocolate, the list goes on. Most importantly, the homemade fresh waffle cones. A word to the wise, a small order of ice cream in a waffle cone is basically an entire meal. Also be prepared for a wait if you get a hankering for delicious ice cream on a hot summer night .
(5)Polly H.
I have been going to Brickley since the first month they opened. This is a great ice cream made by great people. They hire friendly, competent staff that come back year after year. And the ice cream!!!! My favorites are any thing with fruit in it--- peach, bing cherry, and in the fall there are yummy spicy flavors.
(5)Ann S.
A must stop for me and my husband when we are in RI. The best ice cream I've had... maybe it's the salt air and the freshly made waffle cones, but this is ice cream heaven. Grape-nut may be my fave flavor, but apple pie is awesome, as is the pistachio. Worth every calorie!
(5)Candice C.
This place has really fantastic ice cream. I'm not even a fan of desserts, but I loved it here. My favorite was maple ice cream, but everyone who walked out of the place looked happy.
(4)S Nicole M.
It takes a tasty, spot-on ice cream parlor to woo this lass into ice-cream loving submission...and Brickley's has done it. I just discovered this purveyor of frozen, creamy goodness within the last year and now I make a fairly regular pilgrimage to this location - all the way from Warwick!! That IS saying something considering that besides our favorite local coffee pusher here in Little Rhody, there is a fairly plentiful sprinkling of ice cream joints per square mile between here and down there. Speaking of sprinkles (or jimmies), they offer the chocolate variety of the very best caliber. Real bittersweet cocoa goodness packed into every teeny morsel. Nothing like the waxy, coat-the-top-of-your-mouth brown tidbits you find elsewhere. If you are a lover of fine chocolate, these will be your reason for your drive south to this little parlor. I know it seems silly, but once you try them atop your favorite flavor, you will never suffer through brown, waxy topping ever again. The flavors here are varied and I adore that they are true to taste. They never are cloyingingly sweet or artificial. In fact, all ingredients that are packed into their varieties are all-natural. My favorite is ginger. A light, creamy ginger base with nice morsels of spicy candied ginger throughout. Put that - or any flavor - into one of their homemade waffle cones and it is a winner, winner ice cream dinner. (yes - i HAVE replaced dinner with one of their cones on more than one occasion). The downside is that they are CASH ONLY! But there is a bank in the next plaza over...or an ATM in their own storefront. So worth the trip and it truly is the best ice cream I have tasted. evah.
(5)Aisha M.
I stop by this ice cream place after I got a great recommendation from someone I met at salty brine beach. He is a local and has lived in Rhode Island his whole life and could not stop raving about this ice cream. So after his suggestion of my friends and I decided to go check out this and I'm very glad that we did. My favorite ice cream was the cake batter with the freshly made waffle cone. You can watch as they make the cone in front you. They also have really good Jimmy's/sprinkles . My friends also enjoyed coffee ice cream, Maple Walnut, and the sherbet. Also it is cool to check out The small town since it has really good architecture and has been well present since the 1800s.
(3)Ivy G.
Had a hot fudge sundae with coffee chip ice cream. It was awesome. The only thing that could make it better would be to make homemade whipped cream, but that would be asking a lot of a place that already makes all its own ice cream. Would be great if the place had more indoor seating, but it looks like it gets a lot of business and needs the indoor space for ordering customers. 10/10 would travel from Providence to eat again.
(5)Woody B.
After a long, hard day at the beach ( yes-life is rough), a cold refreshing ice cream always hits the spot. I had been here before and knew this place was good, but being back again made me appreciate how tasty this ice cream was. This is seriously some of the best stuff around! I got coffee Heath yogurt which was bomb. I love it when the coffee taste is strong and when there is lots of Heath bar in the yogurt. I also got a new flavor- salted caramel chocolate chip cashew. This was soo good! Rich smooth salted caramel with generous amounts of chocolate chip and cashews. Finally I splurged a bit and got their freshly made waffle cones. Yum yum yum. No need to get more than a small since you can get 2 flavors and they give you a good portion.
(5)Erin M.
OMG chocolate brownie shake the best! Classic flavors as well as fun flavors all home made in door seating as well as out door seating, when u walk in u smell the waffle cones
(5)Tim B.
Peanut Butter cup ice cream was excellent. Staff was very nice. They got to everyone quickly. The place is clean, bright and lots of fun.
(4)Ralph A.
Going against the Grain here and going to tell Rhode Islanders that's there's better ice cream else where. I've tried two of the locations and the first thing that strikes me is you can't even look at the ice cream your ordering, you have to pick from a board. Is this normal in Rhode Island? In any event the place is always crowded which I don't truthfully understand except for the fact that there aren't many ice cream options. I'd be curious to see if anyone from nj could compare this to denville dairy because I think they'd run circles around this place.
(3)Peter R.
Great fresh ice cream no doubt about it ..... But you can get 2 half gallons of friendlys ice cream for the price of a decent cone from brickleys..... But if your paying get me a Oreo ice cream in a warm waffle cone!!!! Yum!!!

They make the best pistachio ice cream I have ever had. It is full of pistachio nuts and WHITE in color (as it should be; NOT GREEN like most sub standard versions). The homemade "on request" fresh waffle cones are the perfect holder for all their delicious flavored. Pumpkin, ginger, coffee chip .... The service is friendly and accommodating. The wait is minimal despite long lines because they have many smiling faces to wait on you. Great summer evening treat to eat at the picnic tables provided outside or go down to the beach and enjoy under the moonlight!!! YUMMY!!!

I thought brickley's had solid ice cream. It was really nice sitting outside on the picnic benches out front. I didn't care for how they only took cash, how you couldn't see the ice cream before ordering, and the place wasn't really well decorated. However, I did like the ice cream, and the servers were very helpful with trying different flavors. My girlfriend got the peanut butter cup, and someone else got the coconut flavor which she really enjoyed. The peanut butter cup was probably the highlight flavor.

Best ice cream ever ate. Ever. Ever. I want to go right now. Where is the mint and chocolate. They should open in Williamsburg...or bushwick,

During my vacation this year in Narragansett I came here three times and I would easily say that this is the best ice cream I have ever had. This year I tried the flavors mint chip, peanut butter cup and chocolate brownie and was not disappointed with any of them. The rest of the people that were staying with me during the vacation felt the same way I do about their ice cream. if I lived here I would be coming here every week.

Came here a decade ago and it was amazing. Came here last week. Yep, still amazing, any flavor! And there service is still the best!

First timers!! Visited the Narragansett store yesterday around 1 pm. We were greeted by friendly faces and very knowledgeable young adults. Had the Best waffle cone in my life! My ice cream of choice was choclate coconut almond and the special salted carmel and cashews, this was by far the creamiest and tastiest ice cream I ever had. We returned about 9 pm for our second time in one day. Line was past the old delivery truck, but moved quickly. Still greeted by friendly, knowledgeable and willing to serve young adults, some of the same faces from our earlier trip. Had the same but added choclate sprinkles.....fantastic ice cream waffle cone again. Wish we lived closer....will be back!! Thank you for the wonderful experience. Corinne & Frank C. Cheshire CT

Summer isn't summer without a scoop (or two) of Brickley's Homemade Ice Cream. Upon entering this lovely ice cream shop, the scent of freshly made waffle cones are being made before your eyes. A team of busy young-sters (yes, I feel old enough to say that) are eagerly waiting on your order. They have creamy concoctions such as: oreo coffee (my personal fav), heath bar, mint oreo, butter pecan, malted milk ball... and for those that like more fruity flavors, they have: homemade orange pineapple, lemon and coconut. Plus you can mix and match different ice creams together. Sweet! What I love the most is that it's pretty inexpensive for the size you get. Their "smalls" are two generous helpings of whatever tickles your fancy. It's more like a medium-large if you as me, but hey, I'm SO NOT complaining! Keep the scoops hefty! Fair warning though, it's a cash only establishment. But they do have an ATM available for you should you forget to grab some moo-lah before entering. Highly recommend. It's a must go if your in the area beachin' it up!

Got the Mint Oreo ice cream!! So good! First timer! Homemade waffle cones. Nice people! The best prices for the quantity of amazing ice cream you get!

Fantastic! Got a large waffle cone of the chocolate coconut almond and it was epic! Go to this place you will be happy you did. Just bring cash as they don't take credit cards or debit.

Just a summer time must have and do before u can say it's summer. Everything is fresh and u can smell the scent of waffle cones when entering the building. I know some will say it's not and That's fine but it is a great place for ice cream. The ice cream concoctions from them are amazing. It can get pretty busy in there but the line moves really fast. Just remember they only take cash though they have an atm on site.

Delicious homemade ice cream. A friend told me they're only open April through November each year, which is such a shame! The ice cream tasted absolutely rich and creamy, and judging by the size of the line at the place, it's a hit for everyone else in town as well.

We had chocolate brownie, pumpkin, orange pineapple and peach. Peach won. So fresh. Tastes like real peaches.

I'm super picky and hands down best frozen yogurt in RI! Finally don't have to go to MA for Richardsons.... This place is a close second to them !!!

Walked in tonight and had instant anxiety. There is no control or order for customers. Everyone walking in front of each other to be waited on. Loud and confusing. The only menu is on the back wall so your forced to make a rushed decision. I ordered 2 scoops in a waffle cone. Coffee Chip, and Chocolate chip. The cone itself was delicious, the ice cream was bland without taste. The chips in both scoops were the chocolate chips you get in a bag in the baking isle of a supermarket, not actual chocolate peices that other ice cream establishments offer. 3 cones of ice cream for $15 is way overpriced, but I understand with having to pay the overhead of 20 or so unorganized staff of kids. I will try other places when in the area.

My family loves this place. The ice cream has always been delicious!

Besides the obvious delicious ice cream, generous portions & the more than reasonable prices - this ice cream shop gets 5 stars for the customer service! I went with a youth group of kids yesterday (19 of us total) and the owner and staff were so accommodating. The owner was so friendly and it was great to see him showing his staff how to do things around the shop, accepting a delivery in the driveway & even directing traffic when the delivery truck had it blocked. Makes you even happier to support the local business! We will be back next week! Also, the ample outdoor seating makes it great for large groups!

I'm convinced that Brickley's has hands down the best coffee ice cream this coffee loving state has to offer. The ice cream is never icy and extremely decadent with lots of other pure flavors, but that particular coffee flavor is special (especially paired with malted milk ball... yum). Seriously, the neighborhood kids are very very lucky Brickley's is not convenient to where I live...it'd be like having a thousand pound grizzly bear coming out of hibernation going for it every day. It'd probably be disappointing not being able to get any since I don't like to share.

After moving my daughter out at URI, she insisted we hit Brickley's before heading home. This place was awesome! Home made waffle cones were big, delicious and were loaded with ice cream...not just a scoop, plopped on top. I was ready to go back for another! Can't wait to go back in September.

It was torrential outside yet I still convinced my passenger to endure a stop (and significant detour) on the way back to Boston. I was extremely glad I did it, scoring a generous and excellent waffle cone of ginger, coffee oreo, and butter brickley from the sweet staff.

Everyone loves ice cream in the summer and this is a good one. Not the best I've had but probably the best in the area. Many flavors to choose from....fresh waffle cones and heaping scoops served to you by under enthused kids on college break. Everything you'd expect in a mom and pop ice cream shop! Line moves quickly and their sweet cream ice cream is yummy. Mmmmm ice cream.

I am an ice cream freak. I love my ice cream and this place is best. In town in order, brickleys, nanas then aunt carries.
(5)Jessica S.
The ice cream has a very good texture, creamy. I like that they will put 3 flavors in a waffle cone. I tried the blueberry, peach, and strawberry. I like the berry flavors the best. The peach was a bit more tart than sweet, unexpected. The staff was very nice. They have a bathroom. Negatives- cash only. They offer water but the "cups" are a few oz, like the ones you put ketchup in. 6- 8oz cups would make more sense. I have no idea why they use styrofoam for some things when I can see they use plastic as well. not good Styrofoam = big frowny face

Brickley's ice cream is always on my list of things to do when I am in South County. Sometimes the line is a bit long, but it's definitely worth the wait. The waffle cones are homemade as is the ice cream. Go for it...indulge a bit, maybe even get two scoops of ice cream, you'll love every second of it.

Love this place! Their ice cream is superior!
