Bland, but expensive, Ming Moon is conveniently located and offers free delivery. I'm not sure I can recommend this place.

Avoid. If they stayed open till 1 or 2 am, there could be value. But even drunk the food might repulse you. Execution is lacking. Cold sesame noodles and pot stickers were almost edible. Meat dishes were lacking in meat. Scallion Pancake was badly burned. Eggplant was cut in irregular shapes, and undercooked. * ample parking * not a pleasant eat in experience especially in summer. * quasi comical banter in Cantonese and Spanish

We order delivery last night. Food was great, hot and on time. Chicken wings were just ok no real taste. We eat tons of Chinese at home and the restaurant we eat at is considered Asian Gourmet. So we're picky, this was good for a resort town.

Was pleasantly surprised about the quality of food on our delivery order this past week. It was so cold that we ordered in, and all the food was top-quality and hot when it showed up to our door.

Arrived at our B & B in Newport on a cold rainy night last week. Didn't really want to go out and find a place for dinner. Ming Moon was suggested by our B & B hostess and they would deliver to us. Perfect for a cold wet night in a unfamiliar location. She said she eats there every Monday with a friend. I had a cashew chicken with pork fried rice and hot and sour soup. My wife had a yellow curry chicken with wonton soup. The portion sizes were huge. The wonton soup had five large wonton in the serving. We had enough food for another dinner a couple of days later. I hear there place is not the best for dining in, but for delivery in the area, we were pleased.

Pretty good Chinese, quickly. The egg rolls were actually very good. All the (pint) dishes were more than enough for one person. Delivered in about 40 min nice and hot.

Ohh, you Yelpers are harsh! Ming Moon has been the hometown Chinese restaurant for Middletown for years, and is the usual place I think of when it comes to American Chinese food. It's your average Chinese restaurant: it's way better to take out than to sit in for sure. Greasy, inexpensive, efficient, pretty decent... what more can you really expect? Their food is really just as memorable as any americanized Chinese I've ever had so I don't understand the bad reviews on how bad it is. Today they get a solid three stars because of how impressed I was that they were the only place that was open during Hurricane Irene's fun times. While Aquidneck Island was in a complete power outage and many of its residents, including myself, were looking for some warm food -- this place surprised me. The place was literally hustling with all of the rude, hungry and angry customers and they were able to turn over their orders efficiently and well. Again, this place is not authentic at all, but if you're in the area and in the need for some cheap food Ming Moon is an "a-ok" place to go to.

The price is great. The food is "ok." Three stars instead of two because of fast delivery and because the fried rice saved the day. For those that are posting 1 star reviews, what do you expect from a three course meal for under $15 with free delivery (including tip for the driver)? I mean, let's be honest, 10 fried wings for under $6 and a pint of won ton soup for $2... Don't expect quality when you are paying for quantity.

Possibly the worst take-out chinese I've ever had.... fingers crossed we don't get sick in a couple hours.... Fried rice, ribs, teriaki steak and chicken wings totally dried out. Wonton soup tasted like it might be spoiled, those won-tons looked a little gray. The only thing decent were the chicken fingers. Will not order there again. Too bad, we love Chinese and were really hhoping to find a good one here in Middletown.

Crab rangoons? FAIL. Boneless ribs? FAIL. Teriyaki? FAIL. Sweet & Sour chicken? FAIL! The only good thing I can say is that the service was good, the food was cheap, and the lo mein was decent. The crab rangoons were dry and grainy, the boneless ribs tasted so strange I had to spit them out, the teriyaki was just bland, and the sweet & sour chicken was just plain sour. Gross, just gross.

I stopped in one time, and I had to use the bathroom which was occupied by the cook. When I stepped into the bathroom it was obvious he had taken a number 2 in the toilet and didn't wash his hands. How do I know this? Well, I think the number 2 does not need to be explained, but when I went to wash my hands I noticed that the sink was completely dry. I cant tell you how the food is, and after reading the above can you blame me for not trying it?

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
