Scramblers is typical diner style food/atmosphere. A friend and I went to breakfast since it's close to our houses. The space is very small and it is somewhat awkward to wait for seating as you're standing right in front of the entrance/exit. We were seated quickly and coffee was promptly offered and poured. I'm not always a fan of diner coffee but this was pretty good. We ordered our food and didn't have to wait long for it to come out. The portions are well sized and I finished my plate of eggs, bacon, sausage, wheat toast and home fries without feeling disgusting (you all know that feeling I'm talking about). Food is well priced and the servers are friendly enough. They take credit cards which is a plus because I rarely carry cash. I'd be interested in going back to try the french toast, which my friend got and it looked great.

I actually found this place on Yelp. We were in the neighborhood, looking for some brunch, and Scramblers was only a few minutes away and good for kids. When we found it, we saw right away it was just a neighborhood diner, which is always a good call. We were there kind of late, maybe close to noon on a Saturday. We didn't have to wait long for a table, they just had to clean one off for us. I ordered the veggie egg white omelet, my son had a Mickey Mouse pancake, and my husband had a custom omelet and a side of hash browns. I expected everything to come out in typical diner fashion, loaded with grease. Surprisingly, it wasn't. Even the hash browns were only slightly oily. There was really nothing fancy about the food, but it was all good, reasonably priced and came out quickly. I don't know if we'd go out of our way to come back (only because brunch is a tough competition in Providence), but if we were in the neighborhood, we'd definitely stop by again.

Hidden gem! If anyone has never had scramblers you have to! It's an absolute must! Yes this place is small and gets super packed for breakfast it's well worth it . Scramblers is just like a home feeling place to eat. Great employees , awesome food , comfortable settling and excellent experience. My first time here was over 15 years ago and nothing has changed and I'm happy nothing changed , because it's always been an awesome place to eat.

Breakfast is always great here, simple but breakfast doesn't have to always be something crazy. Service is always good and staff is always friendly and attentive. I love the cheese omelette here. Give them a shot and you won't be disappointed

I love the days when I wake up early enough to hit Scramblers before class. Endless coffee! I need to hold back sometimes or I'm twitchy for the rest of the morning. And it's not bad. Always hot, fresh and strong. They make omelets the size of your head and they'e stuffed full of toppings. One of the best bets is the vegetarian omelette with eqq whites. VEGGIE OVERLOAD. Lots of mushrooms so there's good flavor, and you can get pretty much any kind of cheese you want on it. Some of the breakfast combos are so cheap that they make you second guess your daily runs to Dunkin'. Most are around $6 and the homefries are awesome. The place itself is really cozy and homey and the servers are always friendly.

Very happy to find a place close enough to Providence that doesn't break the bank during breakfast hours! And they offer breakfast all day. The service is good and the food comes out quickly. I wanted to try a little bit of everything so I ordered eggs (done exactly the way I asked-over medium!), bacon (cooked perfectly as well), sausage (links-not a fan), multigrain toast, and homefries (love the onion-y flavor and they were done crispy on the bottom and not too big). We split the oreo pancake special topped with strawberries and chocolate sauce. Pancakes delicious but on the smaller side, which is fine because they were thicker than I usually like. Only complaint is the strawberries aren't fresh. That's a no, no in my book. Also tried an order of the texas cut french toast and it was definitely a good portion of 6 thick slices. Again, topped with strawberries that weren't fresh. Asked for a grilled corn muffin, which was good just a little dry, but nothing butter couldn't help. Coffee refills are constant. It is not the strongest coffee at all, but a decent flavor. Random comment on that: tiny coffee cups. Overall, prices are VERY fair and food is great!

I love Scramblers!! I love that they serve breakfast and lunch, and the tuna melt on texas toast is the best I've ever had! It feels cozy, the prices are totally reasonable and the staff is so friendly! My friend and I went for breakfast last weekend and sat for three hours catching up, the waitress was so nice and just kept telling us to stay at long as we wanted and kept refreshing our drinks. I'll definitely go back, probably this weekend!!

Went this past week and, as always, their menu was full of unique breakfast choices. They have a board, sometimes 2 boards, with specials written on them above the counter - each with perhaps 6 items. This is my favorite thing about Scramblers is the creative flare they take with their menu looking to find tasty combinations to put some variation in life. The shaved steak & egg burrito & coconut pumpkin pancakes caught my egg this time, although each visit has something new. Friendly layout, clean, not expensive, prompt service add to the overall appeal. When I am in the area I try to stop and have not been disappointed.

Eggs Benedict was good. Pancakes were good. Egg and Ham on an English Muffin was good. Coffee was prompt. Server was nice. A little pricey.

We went here as a group and were accommodated immediately. The entire staff was welcoming and friendly. The menus choices were outstanding! Seasonal choices as well as traditional represented the menu and specials menu. We were all more than satisfied with our decisions and received HEAPING portions of everything for a budget friendly price. Coffee never went empty! I will be back!

Had the special hash Benedict, to die for!

What a great little place. Simple fare. Friendly service. Well priced. Easy parking. Oh, and good bacon. I'd definitely go back.

Living a mile from here it unfortunately took me more than a year and a half to pop in for some food. This has become one of my go to places when I am craving a fancy-free breakfast without a wait. That's right, plenty of seating and no wait. Don't let the address fool you. This place is only in Johnston, because it is across the street. Their staff is genuinely nice and great at convincing you to get home fries. The food is always out quickly even when they are busy. You can get basically every omelet under the sun. I wish I could say I have branched out on their menu, but I have found the perfect omelet with rye toast. The portions are large, but I still feel like it is a little over priced (thus the 4 stars). Still, I'll keep coming back for that perfect omelet with a sweet woman serving.

This restaurant has always been a staple, being near to the highway and RIC and my home. The food is always a good standard for breakfast and quick sandwiches, while the waitstaff is witty and swift. Oh, and the coffee refills are quick! My only gripe is not actually with the restaurant but the location. Johnston. Let's say it again. "Johnston." Johnston PD always sets up traps for inspection stickers and click-it-or-ticket laws which inevitably cause traffic jams and honestly make me want to avoid the entire town. Besides the simple location beef, I would always recommend this place to others as a go-to for an early morning breakfast.

Very overpriced and not really that great

Everything we've gotten here is delicious, love the home fries. Friendly staff and quick service as well. It's still called Scramblers, not sure what that guy is talking about..

So even though I have my favorite breakfast. Place sometimes I like to switch it up and come here. I used to go to the one in Narragansette when I was a student at URI. Ah memories. The food here is delicious and always cooked the way you ask for it. Coffee while served in tiny cups is bottomless which is great since we usually end up chatting for a while. It's an old building and Definetly has an old diner feel. When my brother visits from New Jersey he gets peanut butter pancakes and they are chick full of peanut butter . My only reason they do not get four stars is that it's kind of pricey. It costs us 26$ for breakfast which I find a lot since my usual breakfast haunt would have been 16-18. I

Mmm. Breakfast food, get in my belly! I'd driven by this place so many times and one snowy, February Sunday morning, decided to check it out. What a pleasant surprise! The place was packed to the brim, but we didn't have a long wait. A table cleared up, we were promptly seated. Our waitress was friendly and very sweet. The food came out quickly and in massive portions. I ordered an omelet - if I'd known it was going to be the size of my head, I probably would've asked for a half order or shared it with my friend. The homefries were awesome... perfectly seasoned. My first experience there was so good that I decided to go again, and again.

Oh man, Scramblers...one of my favorite breakfast spots around my neighborhood. I used to come here all the time, and I would come here so much that the waitress would always know what I wanted right off the bat. "The usual for you this morning?" she would ask. The usual indeed! Their delicious breakfast special was the sunshine of my morning hunger needs. Two eggs, bacon, homefries, sausage links, and Italian toast with a side of OJ. Num nummy! I love their homefries especially, I'd often get another side of them. Although my grandma begs to differ, referring them as being made by "Jimmy Dean's grandfather", but I disgress. The staff in here are always nice, which is a plus on my restaurant check list. Prices are good, too. Very fair. I haven't been in here in awhile, but if I want a good, hearty breakfast, Scramblers is usually the best place to go!

I've been here a few times now and each time was good. I love their homefries and really enjoy the cozy feeling. Every time I've been there, there was hardly a wait and I was served very quickly. Plus, they are really good at keeping the coffee topped up! Always a plus in my book. I enjoy everything about the place except one thing, the parking. Be ready to squeeze into a spot once it opens up because space is limited. Only thing keeping this place from a full five stars! Great food, reasonable prices and close to home, what could be better than that?

Solid cozy breakfast joint. A bit out of the way for me but I was in the neighborhood this morning and the lovely community of yelpers told me this place is fairly legit. Asked for my eggs over medium and they were cooked perfectly. They get a solid B for their home fries and the prices are beyond fair. Under $7 for 2 eggs, bacon, sausage, toast and homies.

I agree! Scramblers is always good. The staff are always nice. It is amazing. I have tried other places that have been nationally reviewed and they aren't half as good as this place! Plus they have such a diverse breakfast menu with great prices that you can't go wrong!
