Decent food. Similar to a 99 or TGI Fridays

I kid you not there was a long strand of hair in our appetizer and BOTH of our entrees. One loooong strand of hair in each of them. One was inside of a burger. INSIDE OF THE BURGER! It was "Ruby To Go". Never eating there EVER again. Ever. If I could I wouldn't give them any stars.

I'm usually not a huge fan of chain restaurants but I must say this Ruby Tuesday's in Johnston goes above and beyond. I have to give credit to the manager of this location, because he is on point. Example; I ordered a turkey burger with avocado on a wheat bun, which is something I have ordered before and really enjoy. The avocado was not ripe and was very hard. I mentioned something just to let them know because I like giving feedback. The manager instantly came over, apologized, took the burger right off the bill, and offered me a free dessert. I did not take the dessert but I did go back again for lunch. Service is always impeccable and the food is top notch and fresh 99% of the time. Conclusion: This Ruby's is very modern on the inside, has a great staff, and is a perfect place for lunch or dinner. They have a salad bar and a lot of healthy options on the menu for those healthy gym-rats out there.

Delicious. Delicious. Delicious! This Ruby Tuesday does a great business and their food is unbelieveable for a chain place. Last time I went here was probably a year or two ago but never a disappointment for each time. Back then I would eat my meat medium-rare, and boy, they can sure cook a mean steak! The meat was juicy, tender, cooked to perfection. I also tried some of their burgers. Wow, simply mouthwatering. I was impressed! Not to mention the service was wonderful, never a rude employee. Five stars!

The best place about Ruby's is their salad bar, I just love it soooo much...Plus, it's worth it to get one of their salad bar and small mini burger combos for around $10. Their sangria's are quite tasty too. I rarely frequent chains but I like this place a lot.

I haven't been to Ruby Tuesday's in quite a while but thought it would be a good place for a quick dinner. I was in the mood for a burger and thought I could not go wrong with that choice. I was wrong. The burger had NO taste and appeared to be more bread crumbs than burger. I sent a comment to the corporate website and received a scripted answer in return. I would have expected my email to be forwarded to the local store for a response. I will not be returning anytime soon.

This review is not totally a reflection on the Johnston location but on Ruby Tuesday as a whole. I have been to several locations in different states and I always want to like the next one in the next location but they ALWAYS disappoint. Food sucks!!!!!! Service is spotty at best. Compared to Applebee's and Chili's, this chain needs to fold it up. And Applebee's and Chili's are not that great either so that ought to tell you how bad Ruby Tuesday is!! By the way - find a new bakery for your sandwich rolls - GROSS!!!!!!

I was going to give this place a solid 3 stars after a so-so greasy visit with co-workers for lunch. The food and service was a bit slow but we did have a party of 7 people at the time. This recent trip with 2 others redeemed it a bit though we did have to flag down the host to get us a booth in a relatively empty Ruby Tuesday. Still that was redeemed by our very friendly and helpful waitress, Erika who promptly took our drink orders and our appetizer order. The 4 way appetizer was pretty good and really got me ready to eat my bacon wrapped shrimp and ribs entree. Shrimp skewer was finely cooked and the ribs were just melting off the bones. No complaints from me there and my co-workers shared the same sentiments. So very cheery and helpful server and well made food, makes this a good Ruby Tuesday experience.

I feel over the years, Ruby Tuesdays has slowly went down hill but have finally leveled off and now currently ranks as not an out of this world place but also not an awful place either, Its good. It is your standard chain food restaurant they have a pretty diverse menu ranging from seafood and beef dinners to burgers. They also bring cheddar biscuits to the table which are amazing! Their signature feature is the salad bar, it has a mixture of various salad topping, and some premade pasta and potato salads. The menu food has always been good but the salad bar is where I feel like the quality has suffered. At times it seems like the selection hasn't been refreshed and has been sitting there awhile. The other thing is they have tried to be trendy or something and put many things that I wouldn't normally put in a salad (Lima beans, zucchini, and peas) and have removed some other options that I liked. It could be a selfish observation about the salad bar but it never seems like anyone takes those things when making their salad. Don't get me wrong I still like the salad bar and get it every time I go! Ruby Tuesdays is a safe bet that everyone in your party should find something they like. I have never had a bad meal but I am never blown away by my meal selections either.

Incredibly friendly hostess and awesome waitress definitely made me want to push this to four stars, but overall, OK food and prices give this a 3. Notable moments: - Salad bar concept is great. You can add the salad bar to your meal for $2.99. What a bargain! You create your own salad, or you could have pre-made broccoli salad (which is tasty), macaroni salad, and potato salad - Carolina chicken salad was OK, but the plentiful juicy, lightly breaded chicken tenders made the salad worth it

Excellent sirloin steaks, loaded baked and grilled zuchini. Really tasty. Great salad bar, large and fresh. Very good waitress. Cold draft beer. I recommend. Super chocolate cheescake too. No complaints.

I would have gave this chain restaurant 5 stars but when I walked in at 7:30 PM the hostess told me that there was only two waiters working so there would be a half hour wait. We ended up going to the bar because there was a bartender who could take care of us. The bartender Rob is the only reason I gave three stars. He took our order, got us our drinks and talked to us while we ate. The food was ok nothing special. I probably won't be going back there any time soon.

Overall a pretty A-OK dining experience, just like the rating reflects. We went for an early lunch when it wasn't at all busy. We were seated right away and got drinks quickly. My pomegranate margarita was quite tasty and not too sweet or weak. For a starter we got an order of guacamole. which to my surprise, was quite good. It was tangy, chunky, and loaded with fresh onion, tomato and cilantro. The chips were warm and nicely salted. The appetizer was also served with some pico de gallo and a small side of salsa. The salsa was way too vinegary and sweet, but the pico was pretty good. I got the asiago peppercorn steak with a couple of sides. The steak was actually cooked quite well (exactly medium-rare), and had minimal amounts of gristle. The asiago cheese sauce was quite good, and not too overpowering. The green beans were a bit overcooked, but were well seasoned, and and mashed potatoes were fluffy, creamy and delicious. My boyfriend got the spicy fish tacos. They were okay, but nothing special. They were also not that spicy at all, but that may be because we pretty much live on spicy food and require a bit more kick. The space itself is lovely and feels fresh and new inside. The lighting is dim and the tables are pretty intimate so you don't feel like you're on top of the next table. The booths are very comfortable and everything is very clean. Our server was great, but some of the other employees seemed bored and hung around the bar shooting the shit. Sure, that's okay when it's slow, but conversation between employees should be family-friendly, and theirs definitely wasn't. I'm no goody-two-shoes at all, but I definitely don't need to hear 20 F-bombs dropped while I'm eating my lunch only a few tables away from a family with children. Watch your language!

I'm a sucker for a salad bar which is why I stopped in for lunch with my son recently. I also had a coupon for a free kids meal. The salad bar was good, everything was fresh and it looked clean. My son enjoyed his chicken tenders and fries. I had the mini burgers with onion rings. The onion rings were just about the blandest I've ever had, the burgers were ok. So just about what I expected from a chain restaurant but I enjoyed the salad bar and the coupon made it a great deal.

Stopped by based solely on the fact that they had a salad bar and I'm try to eat healthy. Sat at the bar and ordered up a cold one and an app. After my delicious tempura green been a I dove into the salad bar which was less than impressive. I remember it being much better during my last visit over a year ago. After I didn't finish my salad, I ordered a steak... Fire Cajun sirloin.... It was good and cooled perfectly. Rob, the bartender, was outstanding. Friendly and perfectly trained. Most impressive was after y meal he jaded me his business card with his hours. I probably won't be back anytime soon do the food (as I prefer not to visit the chain places) but I wouldn't think twice to meet a friend in the area down that way if Rob was working. Well done!

I wish I could give this location zero stars. Let me preface this review by saying that I haven't been to a Ruby Tuesdays in at least 5 years. Not because I don't like it but because I just never find myself impressed enough to eat there. A friend and I were in the area on Monday night and decided we wanted to get a quick meal before heading home. The place was empty but for a couple at the bar and two tables with 2 people at each table. Upon entering we were promptly greeted by the hostess who seated us in the bar area. She was the only person to truly acknowledge us during our short visit. We noticed a sign for happy hour in the front of the restaurant and asked her what time it went until. She didn't know so she asked the bartender who stopped her conversation with a male waiter to say it was over. Ok, no problem, just wondering. We sat across from the bar and looked at the menu. 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes passed and we had not even been acknowledged by a server or a manager or even the bartender who was less than 5 feet away from our table the whole time. After making eye contact with several people and trying to get their attention we finally had to stand up from the table and stand in front of a server to tell her we had not had a drink order taken. She looked at us and said "Are you serious?" and then went into the back and got a waitress. When the waitress finally came out we informed her that we had been waiting for 15 minutes, unseen yet seen by every member of staff in the restaurant, including a male server who left the back, walked over to the salad bar and proceeded to "adjust" his nether regions in clear view of patrons. The waitress went to get waters and while we waited we decided that we were not interested in consuming even water from this location. We told the hostess to tell our waitress we changed our minds and quickly exited the building. I understand that when a restaurant isn't busy you tend to slack off. That happens everywhere (even though it really shouldn't), but this was a new low and I do not plan on returning to this location or any other Ruby Tuesday location in the future. I guess there was a reason I hadn't visited in so long.

If your looking for a decent chain restaurant, give Friday's, Chili's, or Applebees a try. Miserable staff, food is OK, feels like an upscale Chucky Cheese. Ask for the waiter Tony P when you go, then you can honestly say you've met the most miserable person in existence.

Went to the ruby Tuesdays on rt6 in Johnston..... Will not be back seeing how we waiting 13 minutes for our server to come over and never did. By the way the manger on duty was making jokes with the bar tender and both of them looked over to our table a couple of times (we were in the bar area). I was really looking forward to their salad bar too. The place is poorly run.

So far so bad. Restaurant smells dirty, table is sticky, and the salad bar has almost NO fresh vegetables. Water was brought to our table and my mom MADE me taste it... Because it was THAT BAD. I believe she said it tasted like 'it was filtered through dirt'. Hopefully my salad, ordered off the menu, will be better?

Really disappointed that lots of our favorites are off the menu. Coconut Shrimp gone, Dumplings gone, Guacamole Gone, Nachos gone, Wings gone. You go in for appetizers that you've become accustomed to and they are gone. Bring back some of the staples that brought us in the first place.

Salad bar and cheddar biscuits are the way to go! The food is mediocre at best, I haven't really ever ordered anything I've loved but the salad bar and the biscuits make it all worth it! This is a great place for lunch, they have really affordable lunch specials. Don't skip the croutons on your salad, they are amazing! The service is always really friendly and there is never a wait!

I'm going to admit it off the bat: I am not a chain restaurant go-er. I despise most of them. My friend asked me to meet him here for dinner and I begrudgingly accepted. But, I was very pleasantly surprise. They have a really good salad bar. The croutons are ridiculously addicting and I will tell you why: they are deep fried! Sorry if that just ruined your day. The healthy options on the menu are actually really good, and I very much enjoyed the spaghetti squash topped with a veggie tomato sauce. I can't say I ever suggest going here, but as far as chains go this is pretty much the only one I will consider.

Had takeout from RT tonight. Ordered two burgers with mac and cheese sides. The burgers were so greasy the bun was saturated, the lettuce was limp, and they put tomatoes on them when we asked for none. One was cooked well done and the other medium rare when we asked for medium and medium well. The jalapeños on one were on the side, not on the burger and greasy as well. The mac and cheese side for one burger had a piece of bone in it and a bunch of other crap, like maybe bits of barbecue sauce or who knows what, almost as if it were scraped off another plate. Finally, they were advertised as pretzel burgers but one was on a white bun and the other on a wheat bun. Totally disgusting and a waste of $24.

  • Kristi L.

Not a bad stop for post work drinks and free tortilla chips. The bar is always clean, and the staff generally friendly. I do have to say though, as might be expected, there are serious rules as to how folks at RT are allowed to make beverages of the alcoholic nature...this is particularly the case with how much alcohol they are allowed to put in the drinks. So, if you stick with wine/beer that is not actually prepared by the staff, you're in good hands. Price is standard chain prices, with glasses of wine starting around $5/6 a glass. They do break their lists out into good/better/best groupings for those who are maybe unfamiliar with the various types and brands offered.

The service was real good and the food was better than I expected. I had ribs and no complaints, well maybe they could have had more sauce. My wife had a burger and it was good as well.
