i was not a fan of this pizza at all i did not like the crust, it was too doughey, like eating a loaf of bread. the sauce was flavorless. so was the cheese. they did load the pizza with toppings though they were out of the fiery chicken which was disappointing i got two medium pizzas one had onions, chicken. the other was Silvio's Hot Focaccia i would recommend so many other pizza places over this one: twins, tommys, casertas, kingston pizza

Like others have said Rosa Mia Pizza has the most delicious Sicilian style pizza. Because they use all fresh ingredients they have an excellent dough used for the crust. The pizza I order most is order is cheese, pepperoni and mushrooms. As others have mentioned, it is pricey, however I will gladly pay the extra for fresh homemade dough, red sauce, and good fresh Italian toppings. We have also ordered the calamari and some sandwiches which are good but the pizza really stands out. Though the owners are not on site all the time they have trained their cooks well as the pizza is consistent every time. I have been ordering this pizza since 1986 and my wife years before that and we have never been disappointed. I moved a half hour away in Scituate and I make the trip every time I want a good pizza. I literally have to pass by 6 other pizza places on the way to Rosa Mia and I do it gladly.

I've been to this place often. Sometimes it's good - Sometimes it's not. . Even when it's not good - It's still Pizza and I like Pizza. Another weird thing was on time the pizza center (size large) dough was wet and droopy. Is that normal? We went back a week later and ordered two smalls, and the centers were wetter and droopier. So, the bigger the pizza, the less wet 'n droopy? Didn't bother me that much, but sometimes I just like a nice, firm pizza.

They do have good pizza here. I've been coming to get their pizza anytime I'm in the Johnston area. The problem is the grumpy old man at the counter. He might be the owner, I'm not sure, but his attitude sucks. The last couple times I've come to pick up my order, he acts like I'm an inconvenience. There is no smile, no "how can I help you?" no "thank you," etc. What he gives off is huffing and puffing, which makes me think he doesn't want my business. I'm not sure why he acts this way towards me, because I have seen him be normal to a couple of "regulars." Now I realize, I don't look like the stereotypical Johnston resident, with fair skin and big hair. But, I hope no one else gets the cold shoulder like I have. Regardless of the reason, I will take my business where it's wanted, and will no longer go back.

I'm giving a 2 star rating, because the delivery and customer service sucks!! For Delivery it has a nice menu and the food is pretty good (for delivery) although when it take's over and hour for it to get to your house, and everything is cold and soggy from the steam in the bag it sucks! Maybe if the person answering the phone had a little more patience and just took an extra 2 minutes to get directions...they would have realized I actually live less then 7 minutes from their place, but instead they rush you off the phone. When 45 minutes went buy and I called back asking if maybe they were lost...instead of hanging the phone up in my face after saying "IT'S ON THE ROAD!" they could have had my food to my house prior to the driver actually calling me 25 minutes later asking where I was. When I told him he seemed surprised, because here I am telling him I'm just around the corner from your place. Anyway my food sucked, and it was becasue it was obviously driving around town for I would guess at least 40 minutes!!! So they lost my business!!

Good pizza and calzones. Ordered a medium Hawaiian pizza and a chicken parm calzone and crust was very crispy. Good sweet red sauce. The price was a little high, came to about 29$ with tax.

Usually the pizza from Rosa Mia is good, but only if you choose pick up. Delivery is a waste of time and the pizza you receive is DISGUSTING. I was told delivery would be 45 minutes but one hour and thirty minutes later I was delivered a soggy disgusting pepperoni and cheese pizza. Dominoes would have been gourmet compared to the pizza we were delivered tonight.
(2)

Has been my favorite pizza for as long as I can remember. A simple cheese and pepperoni is all you need. If you're in or around Johnston and don't want to make the drive to the Hill for good pizza - this place is the best of the best.
(5)
Lizz W.
Tried last night for the first time... best pizza I've had in a long time. I usually hate the thick, doughy pizza but this was awesome. The crust was crispy on the bottom, gooey to the sweet and light sauce and loaded with cheese. Not to mention, the large could feed a small army. Definitely my new pizza place of choice, when I've had too much Bob & Timmy's

Delicious pizza every time. Focaccia is out of this world. Never been disappointed. Although it's on the more expensive side, it's well worth it!
(5)

Best pizza in town! My town of Johnston at least, love their pizza! I've heard a lot of people say that it's doughy, but I enjoy that thick slice of pizza that rosa Mia gives you, all delicious ingredients and the sauce is to die for, I keep it pretty simple with cheese and pepperoni but I have had their Hawaiian and it is excellent as always. Highly recommended, usually takes about 40-45 minutes but it's worth the wait!
(5)
Kenneth R.
Outstanding Sicilian style pizza...you really owe it to yourself to try it...the sauce is so fresh/light and not over seasoned!
(5)
Ronald F.
Rosa Mia's pizza is very good. You have to like Sicilian style pizza. The reviewer below who complains that the dough is too doughy...really? Its DOUGH and Sicilian pizza is thicker. Jeez. Also, are you sure you have actually eaten the pizza here? The ingredients are fresh and taste great. For you to say that you didnt taste anything, I would say that is on your end. This place is absolutely great.

Really? Can someone get a pizza? Called Rosa Mia and ordered told us at least an hour or more, no problem. I called about 50 min later to tell them I needed change for a $100... Guy came with food no change, he left with food and no money. So confused! They chose to walk away from a delivery that was already cooked because they would not leave the food and grab change and come back to get paid! Oh well... Pizza palace it is! And they have change...lol bunch of geniuses working over there (sarcasm)

I've been a loyal customer for 15+ yrs fellas. Take some pride in your work and at least give bread that isn't as hard as concrete. The grinder so bad that I took out the deli meat and put it on a grilled pizza. Don't be like the rest of johnston and go bankrupt because you want to save on money and sacrifice quality

You cannot go wrong with pizza from Rosa Mia. I live fairly near-by so I order at least a couple of times a month. My "go-to's"are either a large pizza topped with sausage, meatballs, olives, and pepperoni (I'm a fat Italian-can't help myself) or recent favorite, the pizza salad (a thin crust pizza similar to the Parma pizza at Pasta Beach). If you like Caserta's deliciously thick crust pizza, you will love Rosa Mia's. My S.O. swears by their snail salad (I can't speak to it because I don't do snails). When we're craving Italian but not pizza and I'm too lazy to cook, we order takeout off of the Silvio's menu (but make sure you call the Rosa Mia number). Finally, to briefly touch upon A.F.'s post, the people at the takeout window have always been very nice to me...and while I do have hair with significant volume, my skin is not fair.
(5)
Food C.
Rosa Mia Pizza offers a thicker crust pizza that is slightly doughy. The pizza is similar to Caserta's, but Rosa Mia's is far superior. The sauce has a sweet taste to it, and the ingredients they use are top notch.
(5)
Michael B.
Pizza is pretty good. Calzones are good if they when they get it right. Service sucks. The ass answering the phone shouldn't be allowed to talk to customers. He's rude rushes you off phone and doesn't take the order right. Three times in arow they screwed up. 1 calzone one pepperoni pizza $35 and a attitude. I'm allset with this place

In my opinion, Rosa Mia serves one of the Top 5 Best thick crust Pizza in the State, depending on your tastes. Its a little "hole in the wall" place, so you can only get it by take-out or delivery. The crust is thick fresh dough, perfectly cooked so its crispy on the outside, chewy in the middle. The sauce is out of this world delicious. Protip: MAKE SURE YOU ASK FOR EXTRA SAUCE if you like to save some pizza for the next day. Otherwise it soaks in and disappears into the crust. Rosa Mia, and their quick, friendly delivery drivers, are the only reason I shovel my front stairs in the winter. UPDATE: 12/11/10 Skip the salad....Yeeeesh. Their garden salad was basically broken iceburg, tomato, and whatever toppings they can pick from the pizza station that kinda belong on a salad....all for $5.95. Pathetic. (If that is what you're going to serve....why bother?)
(4)
Jo P.
Delicious Sicilian style pizza. (I come here just for the pizza, so I will keep my review to this alone). Excellent dough used for the crust, fluffy and buttery yet nice and crunchy along the edges. Toppings are great, good sauce and cheese. Our normal order is cheese, onions, olives and mushrooms - perfection. As others have mentioned, it is pricey, however I will gladly pay the extra for fresh no-additive home made dough, red sauce, and good Italian toppings. Side note story: We once ordered a 'Meat Lovers Pizza' (a term I'm pretty sure we made up, and persistently order when getting pizza) - and although possibly the most expensive pizza we have ordered, it became legendary. One slice was all any of us could handle, but every topping was excellent (Italian sausage, meatballs, steak, bacon, pepperoni... anything else?).
(5)

I want to start off by saying that the two star rating reflects a number of factors in this restaurant. By itself, the pizza (buffalo chicken) was worthy of a 3.5-4 star rating. Nice crust, good topping. However, that rating is droped by 1 star because of price. A medium (which is a small at other local pizzerias) barely fed 2 people, and was $18 after taxes. Unreasonable given that the same pizza is 25-50% cheaper at other places which serve similar quality food. Another 0.5-1 star is dropped for a reason mentioned previously...THE SALAD IS TERRIBLE!!! I got the greek salad, and it was not worth the hefty $7.50 price tag. Absolutely something to avoid if you do not need salad. So in sum, good (but VERY overpriced) pizza, and terrible salad.
(2)
Lani L.
We have had both the thin and thick crust pizzas of rosa mia, each time it always came out good. It is tough to find a good pizza place here in Rhode Island. Had there been many other good pizza places (suitable to my taste), my rating would have been different. I have yet to find a good neopolitan pizza here! Try also their fiery chicken which is buffalo chicken tenders. They are of smaller pieces than what you would get from other places but very yummy. Also beware, their margeherita pizza is just tomato sauce and cheese, not quite like other margherita pizza you might be more familiar of (with tomato slices and mozzarella cheese)

Sorry but for $30 plus 5 tip never again Rosa Mia you have disappointed us to many times.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Awesome! First time with this pizza. Smells like doughboys, tastes like heaven! U have got to try this! Sauce was perfect! U won't be disappointed!
(5)Michaela J.
(2)Amy F.
Has been my favorite pizza for as long as I can remember. A simple cheese and pepperoni is all you need. If you're in or around Johnston and don't want to make the drive to the Hill for good pizza - this place is the best of the best.
(5)Lizz W.
(4)Jennifer P.
Delicious pizza every time. Focaccia is out of this world. Never been disappointed. Although it's on the more expensive side, it's well worth it!
(5)Brian O.
(5)Kenneth R.
Outstanding Sicilian style pizza...you really owe it to yourself to try it...the sauce is so fresh/light and not over seasoned!
(5)Ronald F.
(4)Joe F.
Love their pizza! One of my favorites in the area. Especially with their fresh Italian sausage!
(5)Alfred S.
(1)Evan J.
(5)Nic P.
(5)Food C.
Rosa Mia Pizza offers a thicker crust pizza that is slightly doughy. The pizza is similar to Caserta's, but Rosa Mia's is far superior. The sauce has a sweet taste to it, and the ingredients they use are top notch.
(5)Michael B.
(2)Steven C.
(4)Jo P.
(5)Jason A.
(2)Lani L.
(5)Laura B.
Pizza is delicious. Very fresh and tasty, highly recommended
(5)Jack W.
Ok pizza lovers...this is the mother of all pizzas! Italian atmosphere, thick dough..the best pizza ever!!
(5)Doreen F.
I order here take out at least once or twice a week. Tonight was the worst. Had chicken parm sandwich and a cheese and pepperoni pizza. Didn't try the pizza bc thats our lunch tomorrow, but the sandwich was awful. Tasted like freezer burn, and the brwad was super soggy. Sorry but for $30 plus 5 tip never again Rosa Mia you have disappointed us to many times.
(2)Nick B.
(2)A. F.

Good pizza and calzones. Ordered a medium Hawaiian pizza and a chicken parm calzone and crust was very crispy. Good sweet red sauce. The price was a little high, came to about 29$ with tax.

i was not a fan of this pizza at all i did not like the crust, it was too doughey, like eating a loaf of bread. the sauce was flavorless. so was the cheese. they did load the pizza with toppings though they were out of the fiery chicken which was disappointing i got two medium pizzas one had onions, chicken. the other was Silvio's Hot Focaccia i would recommend so many other pizza places over this one: twins, tommys, casertas, kingston pizza
(2)Amy F.
Always been a favorite. Best cheese pizza around.. Which is saying a lot since there's so many awesome places. 5 stars all the way.
(5)Mike F.
