Food is always good whenever I come here and the service is always attentive and nice. This is one of my go to places to get good Italian food for a good price! I highly recommend ordering the Chicken Gorgonzola

Took me mum, had a delightful pre-dinner hour meal. The lady waitress was a little cold till mum made some jokes. She looked like she had been yelled at too many times, kinda wary around customers. Very odd. Mum had the chez burger, decent she said. I had...a sandwich. Coulda been chicken salad, maybe tuna?....turkey? Couldn't tell, I didn't get sick, sooooo yay! Kinda flavourless. I needed to eat before going to BJ's or I would have bought too many things.

Show up at 8pm. Waitress number one greets us. Put in a drink order. Waitress two greets us and we inform her that we already ordered drinks from another waitress. Waitress three greets us and we tell her that we have been greeted by two waitresses so far. At this point we feel like some kind of sick joke is being played on us. Waitress one unprofessionally bickers (in front of us) with waitress three about how she has been cut and that she is leaving. Waitress two takes appetizer order. Appetizer arrives around 8:30. We then place entree order with waitress two...wait until 9:20 when I decide to get up and tell the runner that we have been sitting waiting and have a feeling our order hasn't been put in. Waitress two comes over and apologetically explains that waitress three had gotten upset with her and said that we were her table..... I request to speak with the manager. This has been the most unprofessional, erratic and unorganized dining experience I've been apart of. On top of this terrible experience. My girlfriend and I had our 2 yr old niece with us...keeping her starving and out later than needed. I am confident that if I had not gotten up and addressed the situation that we would've sat there till close. Your general manager comped our app and gave us a $25.00 gift card for our troubles. First off, We shouldn't ever give your establishment another chance. Secondly, our order would have amounted to $60.00-$70.00 if your employees had communicated properly. Lastly, we are insulted and refuse to be muzzled with such a low ball gesture. How does this happen?? We were excited, hopeful first time patrons and now we plan to denounce your establishment and never visit again.

As you read AG's reviews you find two vastly different points of view, those who love it, and those who hate it. Here, I believe, is why... AG has been around a very long time and so it has its regulars. Regulars tend to speak highly of a place regardless of the facts, because to do otherwise would mean questioning their own choices in remaining regulars. The poor reviews come from those who have only darkened the door once. I happen to have had both experiences. More than ten years ago this was a haunt for some of my crowd, so I was here often. We hung at the bar. And make no mistake, Atwood Grill is a bar first and a restaurant second. The entire seating area is built AROUND the very copious bar. Shows the priorities, no? Anyway, we'd be in there drinking and eating bar foods AT the bar. We'd get loud and obnoxious but never get thrown out because we were "regulars". This made us feel special. it made dining patrons uncomfortable. We didn't care. Flash forward... We've grown up and most of us have moved on. I took my wife there for dinner because, in my deluded memory, it was a great place to eat. Memories lie. It took forever to get service from the surly waitress as we were treated to loud voices and even the occasional obscenity floating across from the bar area. The food, which we waited too long for, was cold upon arrival and tasteless. About the only thing my wife enjoyed was the wine which she said was good and came in a large portion. We did not bother to ask for a take out container for our leftovers. I am giving Atwood Grill the second star only because I reserve "One Star" reviews for those places whose only redeeming quality is that we weren't knifed in the parking lot. Also because I hope that Atwood grill will redeem itself since it is something of a local institution. I think this will require a serious look at the front of the house practices. Perhaps I will try AG again and see if things have improved.

An Italian diner Atwood Grill has been around in this location for almost two decades, but the building actually looks much older. I'm not sure if it was another diner before it became Atwood but both the outside and interior sure looks like something from the sixties. On their website they have words like gourmet and authentic but you can forget that.. Atwood is a diner and not a fine restaurant and that should be quite obvious from just a quick glance. The menu is remarkable huge with all the usually Italian dishes but you can also get burgers and even some seafood. The food is pretty much what I expected from a diner like place, quite good but noting extraordinary. The service was quite good, fast, efficient but not intrusive. Atwood does have a bar area and it obviously attracts some regulars because they all seemed to know each other and were having a good time laughing and boozing it up. Atwood is a diner, one that specializes in Italian food, but a diner nevertheless. A place to get decent food at reasonable prices. As long as you go here with those expectations everything here is just fine.

This is seriously one of the worst restaurants I have dined at in a long while (besides the Golden Greek in CT.) Horrible service, probably because the waitresses have too many tables. I had to wait over ten minutes to get my check. The ambiance of the place itself is very much a 'family restaurant' where almost every table had a younger child who was getting up out of their chairs or crying. I'm not a big family restaurant person, so that might have been a turn off as well for me. TV's were in the dining room, which was a constant distraction, and plastered everywhere was "FREE WIFI!" I come to a restaurant (most of the time) to relax and spend time with family and friends, not watch TV. This is not a bar. If I had wanted to watch TV while eating, I would have gone to a bar, or sat in the bar section. The menu was, well, italian. As a person who tends to stray away from gluten, I usually can find something on the menu that I can eat, even at a pasta place, but they don't even offer a burger on their real menu. Their 'specials' menu (7.95!) was great, but was plastered with NO SUBSTITUTIONS (as was the rest of the menu) so with the italian (read: red peppers with provolone cheese) burger would have been a possibility with no bun, but I was afraid to even ask to have them hold the red peppers. As I figured 'what the hell, they have gnocchi, I love gnocchi, I'll cheat and have some" I ordered the gnocchi meal. Such a disappointment. Yes, there was a HUGE portion, but the gnocchi were tasteless, and cheese and sauce were bland. The sauce was probably canned (OK, a lot of restaurants do that) but it wasn't even a GOOD canned style. It truly wasn't worth the 14$, or the gluten cheating. Again, I had to wait about 10 minutes to get a box, because our waitress was too busy having to deal with a cranky child in another section. I truly don't think I will be back here, and will not be recommending it to anyone. Horrible service, food was blech, and the atmosphere was horrible. And, I had to drive around the parking lot to try to find a spot for a good ten minutes too. No thanks.

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
