I am a huge fan of RI hot wieners(in more ways than on ;), These almost make it to 5 stars but not quite. The dog, bun and other toppings are great, with 1 exception: The meat sauce is way too savory (cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg... not sure which) and is just too strong. For a great wiener, I recommend Eats in Seekonk... Can't be beat! The burgers and home-fries here are awesome BTW.

Step back in time to an era where a greasy weiner joint could be found on every corner of RI. Have a wein-o-riffic experience may require patience, though. It has very limited hours. If you've had a hot weiner (pronounced, WEEN-ah) before, then you know what to expect. For the underprivelidged, here is a breakdown: Greasy weiner meat - you must have it, a blend of god knows what kind of herbs and spices, meat and its natural greasy jous. Truly, the nectar of the Gods Weiner - No, it's not a saugy. Similar to a hotdog, but smaller. Bun - I'm not going to explain it Onions - What? Are you worried about your breath? You call yourself a man? Celery Salt - Don't think about skipping the salt. If you're gonna do it. Do it right. Just ask for it "ALL THE WAY" (preferably several) and watch as that old man back there lines those buns up on his arm and executes his ancient craft with expert dexterity. If this wasn't amazing enough, your treats will be gift wrapped in a wonderful white wrapping paper! Enjoy.

I worked in a "greasy spoon" in Pawtucket about 50 years ago and have been eating wieners ever since. That's a lot of dogs over the years. The wieners at Wein-O-Rama are the best in the state. The wieners are grilled perfectly, the buns are steamed just right, the onions are fresh and sweet, but it is the meat sauce that separates these wieners from the others. Add in the nostalgic atmosphere, the brothers on the grill, the short order cook, and the veteran waitresses and you can understand how this Cranston spot is the clearcut favorite of Rhode Islanders. Join us, and have the pleasure of ordering "two all the way!"

We ate here about two weeks ago while on a trip to the east coast. The hot dogs were pretty good, though I thought the fries and the cold coffee-type drink were better, and the service was fantastic. Our server was friendly, fast, helpful, fun, and, basically, nice. If I ever get back to Rhode Island, we'll eat there again. If you're going to be in Providence, you should eat there, too.

Coming in 3rd on my top "weina" list for Best Weinaz in RI is the timewarp called Wein-O-Rama, located in the ever-so-pleasant carvone city of "cveeeanstin". I went to this place awhile back for lunch with my dad. I've seen it a few times before and would often wonder how their weiners tasted. Walking in I was surprised to step into a 1960's-early 1970's looking place with the most friendliest workers I've seen on that side of Cranston. The food was actually not half bad, not as good as New York System of Olneyville though but it's decent and fresh. They give you a crapload of fries too which were great. I love how they leave the vinegar right on the table for that classic "vinegar on the fries" RI trick. Good blast from the past food! Four stars!

You want weiners? This is the place to get them. Wein-O-Rama has more character than 10 of the other places around town that say they sell weiners! This is an old fashioned diner type place with a long counter and booths along the windows. Sit at the counter near the grill and not only will you get a load of "up the arm" (if you don't know what that means you are not truly a weiner lover!) but a view of the guy on the grill who is a true short order genius. He is poetry in motion and more entertaining than a floor show. This place gets PACKED during lunch and closes around two. Don't bother trying to get in on Saturday, there is generally a line out the door). The food is terrific, the prices are low the guys on the grill are friendly and if you love weiners, you will love this place (how can you beat the name?). Check out the vacation sign behind the weiner grill!

Typical Rhode Island hot weiner joint; clean, expeditious and tasty dogs. The sign is classic!

First time there and had two wieners. Yummy yummy. A definite tradition when you go to rhode island. Bring cash as they do not accept credit cards they have an ATM though in the back

All the reviews are about wieners but this place delivers the best and fastest breakfast I've ever had. If you get there at 10:15 and sit at the counter, your two eggs, bacon, home fries, toast and coffee are delivered and happily eaten by 10:28 if that's what you want. Delicious and reasonably priced. I will also vouch for the burger special with fries and slaw (around $5). Go between 12 and 2 only if you like crowded places!
