It's a local bar with some amazing sandwiches and the coldest beer you'll find in RI. Friendly staff, and the perfect atmosphere. You have to try the pastrami sandwich, which comes with a side of the best pickles you'll ever eat

Top Dive Bar I've done several reviews about dive bars on yelp and I have to say McShawn's is one of my favorites. Pros: Small Divey Atmosphere Good Pub Food Family Friendly Service Good Music Selection Cons: Small Setting (place gets busy, tough maneuvering) McShawns is a cool dive bar in Cranston. Every time I go in the staff treats me like I've been going there for 20 years but that isn't the case. If you like close knit old school bars you'll definitely like this place. Tip: Order the cheese plate as a quick apps with drinks, you can't beat the deal. Thanks

Walked in for the first time today. Once through the doors, I felt very comfortable! Why, I asked? Simple. A short ceiling about the semi-square bar so you can check out all the folks on the other side, glorious wooden booths, a meticulously clean bathroom, well poured Guinness and a short menu of very good sandwiches makes this place a viable alternative to the Eire in Dorchester, without the agony of the Southeast Expressway. The bartenders are attentive and fit the place like a glove. Well recommended.

Keeps getting better year after year... But the prices never seem to go up! Younger crowd these days, but the corned beef is still amazing!

No frills. Tasty sandwiches. Good drinks. Pickles!

Great place, good atmosphere, great Guinness!! We had a total blast! Food was quite good. I had the corned beef sandwich which was awesome. Loved the pickle! Old school deli style nice touch. Music selection changed while we there from Irish music to heavy metal that was a bit much but we weren't there for the music. Can't wait to go back.

McShawn's is a neighborhood pub. It has a darker interior (which I like). Bartenders are friendlier talkers with regulars (which is to be expected). Drinks are cheap. I wouldn't go alone, it's the kind of place that would be boring alone. The thing you gotta go there for though is there corn beef sandwich (just trust me on this one). Order it on rye (if not it's on a hamburger bun yuck). It is not a Rueben. It's NOT deli meat corned beef. That's the key! So delicious and inexpensive. Cheese and cracker platter is great too for the price! Stop in for a cheap drink and sandwich with a friend.

This was tough to rate. Basically this is a decent bar that is clean and hasn't been too crowded whenever I go, which is nice. They have great monthly beer specials and nice tv's. I came here to try out the corned beef sandwich because I've read many reviews on it and honestly I don't see what the big deal is. It's basically regular stop and shop prepackaged sliced corned beef on a regular bread bun. The cheese plate was actually pretty good tho. About the same price of buying the platter at stop and shop so that is nice. I will def stop by here fairly often as I live a few streets away!

This is my favorite of the local cranston watering holes. They've upgraded their tvs. And tap system which definitely gives them an upgrade. Like them on Facebook and they send you promotions and free food events. Saturday is a free hot dog buffet. Also they have a cheap draft beer of the month. Ruben sandwich is the best outside of being homemade. Give it a shot.

It is true...the best corned beef sandwich. PERIOD. It is not full on unnecessary fluff, just delicious thin corned beef that melts in your mouth. You get a sandwich and some chips...not a huge menu and I cant comment on anything else because I always get the corned beef. Beer is, well, beer...nice and cold. A surprise pub on Cranston Street, if you are in the neighborhood, stop in and get a corned beef sandwich.... YUM!

Definitely the best corned beef sandwich around! And Heineken on draft, not many places have that! Good stuff! Give the corned beef a shot. You won't be disappointed.

Great Guinness Pints! Great Cheese Plates! All with the best service around!

Without a doubt the best corned beef sandwich! great neighborhood friendly atmosphere with an inescapable Irish feel, complete with a great Guinness pour and yes, Heineken on draft! A must visit in RI!

These guys aren't kidding! Best corned beef sandwich EVER. I didn't quite believe the reviews but man, I'm at McShawn's now and having the most luscious and non fatty corned beef that melts in your mouth. And a VERY cold Heineken-there's some slush in it. Great for food and a pint. It does seem to be a bit of an old guy hangout in the afternoon which is fine with me but may not be for others.

Best corned beef sandwiches in the State. Coldest Heinekens on draft ever! All you can eat saugy hot dogs cooked in saurkraut and beer on Saturdays, Greatest authentic Irish pub in the state. Hands down.
