Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

As far as fast "American" Mexican food, burritos etc. this is the place. Generous portions and lots of choices. They carry fresh cilantro and jalapeño which I love!!!!!

Cilantro is excellent. I was using yelp to drive to another Mexican joint that had a higher rating, then I noticed Cilantro and decided to stop. It's crazy because the curb appeal is absolutely horrible, however once you walk in the door the place looks like a very nice chain, with great marketing. The process of ordering is very similar to the other big guys but they have many more protein choices. Regular grilled, buffalo and bbq chicken are all choices......really!?? They will actually squeeze a lime or two on your burrito and then mix up all the ingredients before rolling! Nicely done. Will definitely be back!

4 stars and growing on me, Great outdoor pet friendly patio, great people, great prices. Flat screen TV, beer on tap, and small bar. The main difference between this is chipolte is the spices, I find cilantro to be bland compared to chipolte, in a good way though.

I love this place! They don't skimp on the servings, there is a huge selection of meats to choose from that are always fresh (unlike some other place I know) and the employees are always friendly and accommodating. I love their huge burritos and sometimes I order the bowl which is also huge! The decor is nice too. A word to the owners - fix your unlit sign out front because I recommended you to several people and they ALL commented on how they drove right past you! Plus you need to do something to make your restaurant more desirable to come in! I love this place and hate it when everyone brags about Chipotle. The food at Cilantro is far better and fresher, plus it is a local company and not a huge franchise. They make everything fresh in their own kitchen, not shipped in from who knows where. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed!

I actually prefer cilantro to chipotle because the portion sizes are larger and I like fresh squeezed lime and cilantro in my burrito. Anddd they carry cholula hot sauce which is my absolute favorite. The staff was really polite and welcoming. My only complaint is that the steam table always seems to look like a sloppy mess no matter what cilantro your at. Prices are decent.

I am a convert from Chipotle and Qdoba. I enjoy the variety in meat choices. BBQ pork burrito is my favorite. Forget the chains come support a local.

I ordered delivery from Cilantro this evening. The driver was on time but he was very unpleasant. I tipped him 30% yet I didn't even get a thank you! It's bad enough that I was charged $29.87 for 3 tacos and a quesadilla and a $3 20oz bottle of soda!!! The beef tacos I ordered were freezing cold and the quesadillas were mushy. I took a few bites and threw the rest in the fridge. Suddenly I'm no longer hungry. I kindly asked for guacamole on the side. But they put it directly on both the tacos and the quesadillas. The guacamole was pretty gross. It was browning. I'm sorry but I've had better food at Taco Bell. And they are MUCH cheaper. If I wanted to pay higher prices I'd go to poco loco and at least get GOOD food. Not slop that probably wouldn't even pass in prison. And I have to laugh at the box that the quesadilla comes in... An inside out pizza box.. Like really people??? I won't be back!!

Great restaurant! It's great for takeout! Good for kids. They have a pet friendly patio and they have flat panels in the restaurant there are two at the bar and one when you walk in to your right. They have Aton of options there are different chickens and meats. They have whole wheat, flour, spinach, and roared tomato wraps mmmmmm so good!!

Service is god awful....The girl behind the counter complained the whole time I was ordering, annoying. Food is just blah. Low grade chicken/steak, and nothing has flavor. The queso cheese looks curdled! I'll never be back....you should hop over to Chipotle across the street....

I've been here about 10 times since they opened, always trying something new. The food is outstanding. The ingredients are fresh and clean. It doesn't leave you feeling "heavy" like taco bell. The patio is really nice too. Now I just got to get over there after work for some Mason Jar Margarita's. Had two tacos today with pulled pork, delicious. And they have the best guac I've ever found. Totally recommend with out reservation.

My husband and I went here one warm summer evening in August. We each had a veggie bowl, with brown rice. The flavor was not there for some reason, we expected to taste fresh Cilantro (like the name implies) but for some reason we tasted alot of salt. Even the guacamole was not at all as flavorful as we had expected. The main reason we do not think we will go back is because the staff there (a male and a female) each said that they were never trained in how much of each ingredient goes into a bowl. I am carefully watching my diet, and if their website claims there are so many calories in certain menu items, I expect the staff to know how much rice is a serving - or how much guacamole I should get. Instead they said they will put on as much or as little as the customers tell them. Wow - if someone wants double or triple guacamole - these people would give it to them at no extra charge?? The outdoor patio was nice enough, but I will not eat what I cannot account for while losing weight. I have a feeling they were trained, but probably didn't remember. I hope so, anyway.

Decent draft beer selection. Basic menu but the size of the servings were good. A little pricey on certain things.

Decent food, good beer selection and ufc pay per view event. Cant ask for more. Nice not having to deal with a crowded hooters.

Went here with a groupon and I have no regrets. Delicious. Now let's not forget, this is not real Mexican, but it was quite tasty. My dining companion and I both had the belly bowl. Which is everything in a burrito without the the tortilla. The guac was extra. Everything looked and tasted fresh. Would def recommend.

Went there last night. Food was great and server was very friendly.

Thanks to the "fresh catch of the day" (as stated on the chalkboard, hence my quotations) I got to try dogfish for the first time. It was delicious. Never disappointed when I eat at cilantro and this new location in Cranston is exciting not only for their great outdoor patio, but their larger than normal selection alcoholic beverages. Will certainly be back for beers and nachos.

Cranston just does not know good Mexican food. Both Tio Mateo's and El Tapatio (which were good) closed in Cranston. This is the only other option, basically this replaced El Tapatio and I am disappointed. This place reminded me of a cafeteria and the food did not taste authentic enough.

I'll stick with Chipotle...I've tried eating in and take-out. I was not impressed with my selections either time. However, the dining room is large, airy and clean...much more dine-in friendly than Chipotle.

I lived in Scottsdale for 9 years, so I am very picky about my Mexican. This place is pretty good. So can totally customize your tacos or quesadilla or burrito. Margs are pretty good too
