Home cooked goodness in a semi sterile enviornment. The old GF terrified me, it was so run down and grimy. The new location is right down the street and has an updated interior and a more open plan, though they did keep a breakfast bar, which to me is the quintessential sign of a real greasy spoon/ breakfast joint. I usually order your typical 2 egg, toast, homefries & meat breakfast here. I;ve also had some wonderful sandwiches, and the meatloaf hits the spot (though i order mine without the brown gravy, so I cannot attest to the quality of that)

The staff is nice and he prices are fair. However every time I eat here there is some sort of disappointment. The last time my girlfriend and I went for lunch and the mozzarella sticks we ordered were mostly hollow. They had been over cooked and all the cheese had exploded out and into the deep fryer. Our server was very polite and brought out a 2nd order without hesitation or attitude. About 1/4 of the 2nd (free) order had the same problem. Other than that my steak sandwich was great. Our most recent visit was for breakfast and our food came out cold in the center. This was fixed and the rest of the meal was great. Probably not going to return again. Overall I have been to this restaurant 3-4 times and end up with some small disappointment every time. However the prices are fair and the staff is very personable.

Worst breakfast ever, we split a hungry man breakfast. Most of the breakfast was served cold, sausages under cooked no seasoning on the home fries hash served wet sent it back. Gentlemen Farmer is the only show in town, waitress didn't even know who was serving our table, guess what she was, there are only 10 tables in the place. I wasn't feeling the love in my breakfast great place to go to if you want to learn how bad a breakfast can really be.

This has been the second time I've been to this place, the food was ok the portions were too small, it was me and my guy friend that went for lunch earlier, it gets better, he ended up with small portions of food as well plus 2 sodas came to $20.00 what a rip off, the waitress was a bit stuck up as well like she couldn't be bothered to serve us she had one of those I don't care attitude. We could of gone to Middle of Nowhere dinner and get larger portions for the same price. I've noticed there was nobody there accept for me and my guy friend and two other people. You need to get your Sh** off the Sh** pot or you will be out of business soon, Robert Irvine from Restaurant Impossible should go there and straighten them out LOL We will not be going back again

Pleasantly surprised We would absolutely come back here again. My husband and I have driven past here many times and always said, "we need to go there one day". Today was the day. When we walked in, immediately our expectations went down. Place needs some serious TLC, seats are ripped, decor is hurting, and it just looked a little forgotten about. The upside to that...we didn't feel under dressed when we walked in in our shorts, t-shirts and flip flops. The staff was very friendly (yay, a plus) and the menu had all the classics. We ordered the calamari with garlic butter and hot peppers. It was fresh and tasty! We also ordered a turkey club with sweet potato fries. It was proportioned nicely and didn't fall apart when you took a bite and the sweet potato fries didn't seem like they came from a frozen bag (woo!). And we ordered an eggplant parm sub with chips. Eggplant was fresh and nicely fried. With updated decor, I'd update to 5 stars.

The restaurant is very clean. All the waitresses and waiters are very nice. The food is great! My only complaint is it pretty pricey. For two people to eat there it coasted us around $30. That is not counting the tip. So my wrap up is if you want good food at and expensive price come here. :)

Get the breakfast #2! Ham, 2 eggs, home fries and toast. The biggest and best piece of breakfast ham I've ever had! You could make 3 delicious sandwiches with this tasty monster. The Chris Farley of ham slices!

This has been the first time I've been to Gentleman Farmer diner with my boyfriend and we went there for breakfast and the eggs and home fries and toast was really good can't complain. When we first got there the place was packed, they must really do a great business then. I will definately will be going back there again soon I really enjoyed my food.

This is one of several "gentlemen farmer" restaurants across the state. We have been to several, but visit the Coventry location the most because it is close to home. I have never had a bad experience at the GF. The service is always pleasant and fast. The food is always good-Has a home cooked feeling. Only less than positive comment is that the "new" Coventry location (probably 2+ years old at this point) does not feel as cozy as their previous location here. The open dining area feels a bit sterile, but certainly not bothersome enough to lessen our visits. Particularly like this place for Sunday breakfasts, but lunch is great too.

I'd gladly give a half star if that were an option. I went here the other morning for breakfast with my girlfriend and could not have had a worst experience. First off we waited at the door for a few minutes before one of the several waitresses told us to take any seat. We both ended up ordering French toast. She ordered hers with strawberries and bananas, side of bacon. I ordered mine with two eggs and homefries. When our food arrived we were greatly disappointed. Her French toast came loaded up with frozen strawberries that hadn't been even drained. This goes on top of French toast that is soggy and not even properly cooked. She ended up with literally a pile of mush for her breakfast. My French toast was lukewarm at best, eggs cooked properly and my homefries sadly lacking. This was possibly the worst meal we have eaten at a restaurant. If you're looking for breakfast you'd be better served at the subway next door.

We were on our way from New York to Boston when we found this place. I ordered the lobster salad with low expectations. My husband got the chicken salad with apples and our daughters shared a breakfast plate. I had full chucks of lobster on my salad and very little mayo. Sooo good. My husband's salad was thick and tasty. Full of flavor. I cant say too much about scrabbled eggs but I couldn't get enough of their potatoes. Impressive for a little place.
