The food was amazing, some of the best sushi I have ever eaten even on par with some of the higher class sushi restaurants I have eaten at. However, the service is not the best but I think it is a cultural gap and it took so long for our food to come we literally had forgotten what we had ordered when it came. If you have time and do not care about atmosphere you should come and check this place out

This place is not bad at all. They are not really visible from Market street and you have to turn inside to look for it. They have all you can eat sushi for 18 bucks which is super worth it. It is cheaper than other Japanese restaurant nearby in York area. give it a try!

What a pleasant surprise. Don't be alarmed by the strip mall location. Very clean inside. Great sushi, wide selection, large portions and good prices. Over fifty rolls to choose from as well as Hibachi Fried rice and kitchen entrees. Service was a little slow; hope they have extra help on the weekends. Everything was fresh and tasty. We will be back!

All you can eat off the full sushi menu!!! Not just California or tuna rolls, full specialty rolls. I only eat about 2 anyway, but you can't beat 2 rolls and a salad for 18.95. Very happy with this place. Ambiance could be better. Byob too. So don't plan on ordering a beer.

Usually I'm reluctant to try places with lower star averages on here, especially places tucked away in the creepy, depressing Food Lion shopping center. But a buddy of mine insisted this place was great, so I decided to take a chance. I'm glad I did. I ordered The Pink Lady and the Catalonia rolls. Both contained deliciously fresh, melt-in-your mouth fish, probably some of the better quality I've had in YoCo. Overall, the rolls had a great rice to other ingredients ratio and were pretty darned tasty. The only qualm I had was with assembly: the rice in my Pink Lady roll was a little too sticky, and a few pieces got stuck to my plate and subsequently fell apart as I fought with my chopsticks to pick them up. Can't say I've encountered that before. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt this time since the sushi was yummy. That's the most important thing, after all. Service was friendly and efficient. I managed to be in and on to my appointment in less than 30 minutes, but I was also there at a very quiet time of day. PS: They have all-you-can-eat sushi for $19. Looking forward to trying that the next time I'm in.

Our group has frequented many other York sushi spots, and our group was very impressed with the quality of sushi and service Oyako provided. True they were not very busy, but i feel that Yelp filtering reviews may have contributed to this. Our experience wasn't negative in the slightest, in fact our server was extremely nice, thankful and very accommodating to some of our more unorthodox requests. :) Will definitely be coming back in the future.

My husband and I love this place! The restaurant is run by husband and wife trying to make a go of it! He cooks and she serves. sorry to hear one reviewer had bad experience. The flavors of the dishes we order are so much better than other typical chinese restaurants in the area. My favorite is the mango chicken. Fresh mango strips with grilled chicken and onions in a wonderful mango sauce that's light with a nice smoky flavor. My husband loves their shrimp fried rice. Says its the best he's had in this area. Owners are very nice people.

My wife and I were looking for a new place to eat one afternoon. I was in the mood more some udon and was searching for places on the internet that served it. This place showed up and so we decided to give it a try. From the street you'll miss this place if you aren't looking closely for it since it sits back off the main road and the sign for the restaurant isn't very noticeable. It is located in a little strip mall and the most noticeable place is the Food Lion grocery store. If you see that from the street you know you're in the right spot. Upon entering it looks like a typical restaurant with decorations and paintings. Music was playing softly in the background and the atmosphere seemed warm and welcoming. We were greeted by a gentleman who showed us to our table with in seconds of entering the establishment. He gave us time to look over the menu before taking our order. The menu had lots of different entrees to choose from. They had a few different noodle soups listed all of which sounded good. My wife chose to have the bento box with shrimp and I had beef udon soup. We shared some sushi which was tasty and satisfying. If you are looking for a place to have done really good sushi, a bento box with your choice of meat and or a noodle soup, give this place a try. I hope your experience will be as good or better than ours. Thank you for reading my review. This review is based off of my personal experience and opinion.

Great sushi rolls with reasonable price. The service was good. But the environment looks a bit cheap.

The all you can eat sushi for $18.95 is a deal. I highly suggest the volcano roll, but beware... After you order your 3rd or 4th roll you start getting stares from the otherwise friendly staff!

This spot was recommended by a couple of my friends, so today I stopped in to give it a try. Rather unassuming little place, but it was clean, everyone was very friendly & dammit the sushi was terrific! I usually sush 3 times / week during my travels, and I've had some great and not so great experiences. What a wonderful hidden gem! Go! Eat! Now!

Passing through York on business, stopped here based on strong Yelp reviews. It doesn't look like much from the outside, as it sits in a shopping center, and it's pretty pedestrian inside as well, but it's actually really good. They have an all-you-can-eat deal that a lot of other patrons were getting, but I just ordered off the menu. Seaweed salad, Alaska Tuna Roll, Wasabi Salmon Roll, and Sea Singer roll. Everything was delicious, and service was prompt and courteous. I can't compare this to any of York's other sushi places, but I'd definitely recommend this one.

Tried some take out a week ago and found that the sushi is above average to good for the York area. We tried a dinner this time and chose the box dinners. we were surprised at the taste. It was delicious yet some items were a little cool instead of warm. I would definitely recommend Oyako to anyone who likes Japanese cooking.

Compared to other sushi offerings in the area, Oyako is five stars. Waitress and chef were very pleasant, took a little while to take our orders because they were serving other patrons on a Saturday night. Once ordered, courses were perfectly paced. We had the weekend special of soup or salad, appetizer, four specialty rolls, and dessert for $39.90. With a bottle of wine, BYOB, and some good friends, it was a perfect, quiet evening. My friend said we should keep it a secret, because where else can you stroll in at seven on a Saturday night and have a delicious fresh quality meal without a lot of hassle or noise. It's our new super secret sushi place, but I'm letting you in on it because I'm worried they may close unless more people start frequenting this worthy establishment!

Stopped in because I'd seen a few raving reviews -- and I'm glad I did. This is by far the best sushi I've had in (and around) York, and rivals my favorite places around the country. I ordered the salmon roll, the Pink Lady roll, and the Jungle roll as part of their $18.95 all-you-can-eat dinner special. As another reviewer mentioned, the fish-to-rice ratio is excellent. The fish was fresh, buttery, and colorful. My salmon roll was actually the shining star of the bunch. I did knock a star off for the slow service. Upon entering I stood at the counter for about two minutes with no hostess, server, or any sense of direction in sight. It took about 15 minutes of me looking at the menu for my order to be taken, and then another 45 for two-thirds of my food to arrive. I do work in food service and noticed there were two large parties who placed their orders immediately before mine, so my patience wasn't wearing thin, but I can see how others' might. When my food finally got to me though, I was wholly impressed! Good job, Oyako. I might only order carryout from now on, since I did feel a bit awkward dining by myself, but nonetheless I had a very positive experience.

I've been going to Oyako, for the past 2 months. Once a week, I'll stop by to get a lunch special to go. Usually, it's either the lunch roll special (with soup or salad) or a few individual regular rolls for $3.00 each. The sushi has to be good, for me to make a trip every week....and it is. The maki roll portion size is plentyful, especially for the price and every ingredient is fresh. Also, I have speak about the owners. The husband & wife team, who are genuinely nice & accomidating to me every time I visit. I like how my food is quickly prepared & neatly packaged. The restaurant itself is nice and clean enough for a sit down meal, so the next visit will be with the hubby for dinner.

We just moved to York, and we were pleasantly surprised at how many sushi options we found here!! By far, Oyako is our favorite. Their rolls are fresh and delicious, and they offer all you can eat sushi for $18.95 Monday - Thursday. BYOB by the way!

I feel this is the best sushi place in York. I don't care what anyone else says. I eat here about twice a week. I live minutes away. I always do take out, mind you. The prices are really good. The rolls are always bigger than any other place. The quality is superb. The people are extremely nice. Almost too nice. It's hard to believe. They remember my order when I call. They have never messed up my order or have done anything to dissatisfy me as a customer. They go out of their way. And hours you say? They are open till 10pm m-Thursday. How freakin awesome is that. And Friday sat till 11! This is great for those late night sushi cravings. They are closed Sundays. Understandable. That's how everything used to be anyway. I only get basic rolls. Tuna, Yellow tail, and Alaska.. But goodness they are great. One time, I almost thought I forgot my wallet ..And they even gave me the option of paying next time I came. Who does that? Just awesome. I've been going here for at least 4 months or more regularly. Please, try it.
