The sushi was fantastic. I didn't try anything else yet, but I'm glad to see that there is a wide variety of Japanese food instead of just sushi. The service was a little slow, but there was a larger groups that ordered before us so it wasn't really their fault. We came in at 5:15, ordered at 5:40, and got our meal at about 6:30. The woman came over and apologized for it taking so long. They do take out, so those were made before too. But honestly, that's a NORMAL time for waiting on sushi. It Really wasn't a big deal. The food was definitely worth it. My friend says it was the Best sushi he's ever had, and it was probably the best I've had in PA. The restaurant is cozy, and I hope they're able to expand soon.

Hands down, this is the best sushi restaurant in the York county area. The quality of the food is top notch and fresh and is always consistent. This is a small family owned business and you can tell they take a lot of pride in the food preparation and presentation as well as overall experience. I would highly recommend this without any hesitation.

This place is hands down the best place in York to try sushi. This place was the first time I ever ate sushi and I look forward to it whenever I visit the area. High quality sushi at a great price. They can be a bit slow sometimes, but it is worth the wait. The place is BYOB, which can be forgivable... definitely get the Japanese soda drinks, always good for a laugh.

I've been to this place many times, so I'm a little confused when people say the service isn't good. Every time I've gone service has been quick and attentive. That's not even mentioning the sushi, which is phenomenal. Compared to the sushi places that I've been to in Lancaster and Baltimore, this place wins hands-down. It's York PA's little hidden treasure.

What can I say...I love sushi! This place was great, clean and nice decor. Sushi was freah, loved the scallops. Will go back many times. I have clients in York and will make this a regular stop.

The food is very good but the service is very poor. If you are like many that enjoy sitting for hours wasting time then by all means this is the place to go. The food is excellent. The sushi chef is great. I will return but will need to bring war and peace next time I come in.

Server friendly. Received the most bland tasting sushi I have ever had. Requested to pay for the soup, salad and 2 pieces I ate because I didn't like it (I know everyone that has worked the food industry has experienced guests who eat their whole dinner and then try to send it back, so if I do send something back I offer to pay for what I consumed) and was told that I had to pay for the whole book require less of whether I liked or ate the food. Chef insisted that we were insulting him because we did not like the sushi. The sushi was bland, extra dry and actually tasted worse than the sushi I buy from chain grocery stores. So, my fiance and I ended up paying $35 for food we didn't consume and were told we were the problem. That everyone else liked it, that "thousands of other people" so "you all are wrong". Ended up at a diner on the same block with a blt and decent cheap coffee while fuming over the loss of my $35.

Nothing compared to the California coast sushi where we just moved from, but it was a pleasant surpise to find some good sushi all the way out in York.

I ordered the sashimi combo and found it quite bland and tasteless compared to what I get at home. And I can't revall another Japanese place that charges for refills on hot tea. Poor value for $30.

I've been here twice now, and I have to say my second experience was lots better than the first time. My first experience with Kissho would have earned 3, maybe 4 stars. For my second experience, I had possibly the best sushi I've had in York. The fish was as fresh and tasty as any other place in York has to offer. The food was very well prepared, which always makes the sushi experience that much better. I've only ever had takeout here, and I have to say I'd now like to try eating there just to see how artistic the sushi chefs are. I view a plate of sushi like a work of art and I would like to see a set up a little different than sushi stuffed into a to go box. The calamari was also excellent here. It was still crispy even after getting the to go order home. The atmosphere also seems nice for a small little place. The staff is very friendly too. Prices are on par with other local sushi restaurants. This is quite the gem for York. I can remember growing up in York when there probably was not even one sushi restaurant. Now there are numerous places to get sushi, and this one gets my vote as the best place to get it. Give it a try if you find yourself in the area.

I've had many people tell me that their favorite sushi in York is "that place by the hospital." I've been to Kissho four times and once for carryout. I will say that their sushi is good - thorough menu, tasty rolls. However, every time I've been there the service was so s-l-o-w. During each visit, they only had one server on staff and everything took forever to come out. For my carryout order, I waited 30 minutes before driving in and then sat there for 20 additional minutes. Luckily when I've gone, I've BYOB'ed so the wait wasn't a huge deal, but I wouldn't rank Kissho as my favorite sushi place in York (I prefer Mitsuru Ya, Wild Ginger or even Masa)

Came here for Valentine's Day this year and enjoyed the sushi, but the service was slow since they were understaffed. It's BYOB, but no corking fee. Sushi was good and the atmosphere was quiet and romantic, which was great for Valentine's Day, but not really my style for a sushi place... The sushi bar only had room for two seats, the chefs were slow and quiet and didn't yell out anything when we arrived and there wasn't any music playing. Nevertheless, it's still pretty good sushi, though not as good as Fujihana or Mitzuru ya.

Sushi was excellent. Nice ambiance and clean. Nicely priced as well. Will definitely be back.

Outstanding! Best sushi in York and so reasonably priced. Incredibly kind staff and nice atmosphere considering its in a little strip mall. It is very clean and well maintained. I won't go anywhere else in York, and Tsunsmi is my favorite in Lancaster. Stop in and try Kissho today, you won't be disappointed!

Best sushi in the area. I work 5 minutes away and find myself here at least 2-4 times a week. The only downfall is when I eat sushi anywhere else I'm always disappointed.

Sushi wise I really enjoyed my meal, the leanest Salmon I have ever had in this area, carefully prepped with a nice presentation. Squash roll was sweet and interesting find on the menu. There were about five other tables full when we ordered. They apologized about the 20 so minute wait on the order but I did not mind much, they even tied us over with some edamame on the house. I had a Salmon combo which was perfect for me. Small order of salmon rolls, 3 pieces of salmon sashmi, 2 nigiri. and a nice spicy salmon hand roll. $17.95 in the end and at first glance the menu seemed a bit pricey, maybe a dollar over what you pay elsewhere but then all their simple sushi rolls are roughly the same price. The fish seems to be high quality, lots of variety on the sushi menu and presentation is spot on. The look of the place is like a well kept little Japanese cafe, nice decor but to too cheesy, fresh paint on the walls and nice tables. The place is small and I imagine its not ideal for big parties unless they have more chairs hidden some where and more than one person making the sushi. Other things on the menu include: Teriyaki, Rice Bowls, Tempura entrees, Katsu, Yakisoba, Udon and Ramen.... haven't tried any of them but I am sure I will be back soon for a nice wintery udon soup soon. So will keep you posted.

Kissho's is definitely my favorite sushi place so far. I keep trying new places, hoping to find somewhere I like more, but nothing really compares. The sushi is fresh, flavorful, and the best temperature. I've had sushi too cold or too warm, and Kissho's does it right. The prices are decent in comparison for the area, but you pay for quality.

This is in the strip mall across from York Hospital, and while I was sad to see that great bistro that was there before leave, Kissho is a great replacement. The waitress always greats me with a smile and is happy to see us, and suggest something new. There signiture soup is great. The Sushi chef always has the freshest fish, and I've been there 10+ time for in house or to go and they have never gotten a order wrong. The prices are a little higher than traditional york prices, but worth every penny. If its one or two of you sit at the sushi bar and you can watch the master at work. And all the deserts are great!
