I like J.R.'s. The menu is relatively simple, hotdogs, fries and tots are the bulk of it but the quality is where it is at. I tend to come here at least once a week. It is located in the Central Market House in downtown York behind the Strand Theater. The restaurant is open 3 days a week and sometimes a fourth (first Fridays). I work in downtown York so it is a quick walk over here. If you are going to the market anyways, it is a convenient stop. I typically get one of three things here, the Texas Red Hot Weiner (a chili dog with mustard and onions), bacon cheddar fries or bacon cheddar tots. All are very good and well worth a try. I am not sure the brand hot dog they use but it seems to be good quality. The fries and tots are really where this place shines. The fries here are some of the best I have ever had. These blow McDonald's out of the water. The closest comparison to them is really 5 Guys and 5 Guys are not at this level. The cheese used on them is almost like a nacho cheese sauce except not as spicy and the bacon is real bacon bits and lots of them. These are a must try if you come here and they are relatively affordable at five dollars (very large portion). The service is pretty good here and with the quality of the food, I do keep coming back for more.

Pork BBQ and French Fries Pork BBQ and French Fries. I love Pork BBQ and French Fries. You don't find a better combination of either of the two than you will find at J.R's in Central Market. ALSO! The staff/owners are the nicest guys you will ever meet. A hidden favorite among the market stands.

Not only do these guys have the best fries ever, they have the best peanut butter fudge ever and the best customer service ever! If you've never been to Central Market you are missing out on a great experience!

The fries are melt in your mouth delicious. The pork BBQ is bangin', especially when they have their special Guinness pork BBQ. Plus, nicest guys ever. Definitely hit up J.R.'s when you're at the Market.

These guys serve some great French fries, but they're more than just fries. They have numerous sandwhich options to comement their yummy fries. Their counter at Central Market is regularly full of patrons enjoying their meals. A cup of perfectly cooked, fresh cut fries can always hit the spot.
