Dinner with friends. Food was fresh and delicious. Salad dressings and salads were awesome! Dinner was also excellent. Several vegetarian options too. Each entree comes with your choice of 2 sides. Beautifully restored building. Service was also good. York needs more restaurants like this!

Poor experience starting with reservations. Did them online ( for V day) and I had to call to confirm because no one responded then was told they would take care of it. They Called the next day left a message on my phone to call and confirm. Ate upstairs nice room. Friendly staff. Husbands meal was good. Beef medallions were very good. Risotto very salty. Everything was brought to the wrong tables our salads, our entrees. Right food on the wrong plate. Not just us but others in the room We had water in stemless wine glasses and the table next to us had wine in water goblets. Never told the specials. Didn't know there were specials until the 3rd couple came in. Pear salad had wilted and rotten arugula. 'Lobster' Ravioli were folded over lasagna noodles with 2 less than bite sized pieces of lobster in each. Not a speck of cheese. Showed the waiter he agreed they weren't right and returned them. The manger boxed them up and sent them back to me viA the waiter telling me "That's the way they are supposed to be!" And that I could eat them later. I would be charged. I told the waiter I wasn't taking them and definitely not paying for them. Another couple ordered the ravioli and one of the ravioli had about 1 with a teaspoon of cheese as well as the tiny morsel of lobster but the other two were bare Their sides were on the wrong plate and the waiter was getting plates for THEM to fix it and after 15 minutes of waiting they started to eat off of each other's plates. When he complained about the 'ravioli' waiter said "I'll take off the entree but I'm charging you for the sides!" I asked to see the manager and was told "he's too busy" Everything took toooo long List of excuses Have to bring the food up 2 flights of stairs We have a new cook They keep putting the wrong table numbers on the slip We are very busy. Finally ran into the manager as we were leaving and he stood with his hands in his pockets leaning against the wall as he listened and thanked us for our feedback. Don't think I'll be back. It's a shame we were really looking forward to a nice dinner

5 of us stopped here one weekday evening for supper. 4 out 5 got freshly prepared tasty meals. However, one salmon entree was badly burned on the "bottom". The cook had to know, sent it to the table anyway. It was sent back so the four of us ended up watching the 5th person rush to finish. Not a great situation. They comp that meal. We'd eat here again... But they cannot allow that type of shoddy kitchen help.

I brought my girlfriend here for a nice lunch. The lunch was delicious and our server Dan was great would recommend to anyone.

Tea and breakfast was a-okay. Cheeseplate needs non-deli cheese options and more choices with tea please. I'd love to try their dinner one day, but breakfast/brunch needs a bit more paying attention to.

The atmosphere is charming, the food is delicious and the service is equally amazing. This is a must try, for the foodies of York county. Reservations are preferred

Not many quality BYOBs in York, so I'm glad this restaurant opened. I had their crab cakes tonight and they were amazing. $20 for 2 large lump crab cakes is a fair price as well. The decor is great, and the atmosphere is better that 99% of the eateries in York. The restaurant is handicap accessible, the food was great, and the staff was very professional. I will definitely recommend the restaurant to other friends that are looking for a quality restaurant that has the feel of a Philadelphia BYOB.

I absolutely loved this place! The food was incredible, and the service was great. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I recommend the sugar cookies for dessert!

Horrible service from Jordan. Food was great. Loved the building . He has no personality and rude. He rolled his eyes at us!

My girlfriend and I had dinner at your restaurant a few weeks ago and were pretty pleased with the food but extremely disappointed in the service. Our server got us our soup/salad and entrees quickly but everything was downhill after that. We were told our options for desert were blueberry cobbler or cheesecake. We both enthusiastically said cheesecake and were really upset when we were told that they just gave the last slice of cheesecake to the table beside us. We were shocked that a popular restaurant would run out of something like cheesecake during Restaurant Week. We reluctantly took the blueberry cobblers and I only ate the ice cream since I hate blueberries and my girlfriend ate the very bland cobbler. We finished eating our desert around 7:00. We didn't get our check until 7:45 and that was after asking the waitress for it and waiting 10 minutes for her to "come right back." While we were waiting to get our check, your manager was standing in the room having some small talk with another person, completely oblivious to everything going on around him. One of the members of our group saw our frustration and was kind enough to get the manager to help us at last. As we were about to leave, the same gentleman who got the manger to help us asked for cheesecake for desert. I started laughing because I expected the waitress to say that they were out unfortunately. I was shocked when she said that they just had some come up and that it would be right out. I asked 45 minutes earlier and was told that you were totally out. Another diner in the same room asks 45 minutes later and all of a sudden you have an entire cheesecake. To say that I was a livid was an understatement. It's not the cheesecake that I care about. It's the principle and business practices of the Front Porch Cafe. You don't offer something to diners in the same room that you denied to one just a table away. I'm not sure that we will ever return to the Front Porch Cafe which is sad because we love to support local businesses like yours.

I have been here several times and it is very inconsistent - both food and service. It seems like you are a bother to them rather then feeling welcomed. When it first opened the food was better and lower priced. Hours are also inconsistent.

Ate here for breakfast and the food was fresh and delicious. We will definitely go back. We r anxious to try the dinner menu. Great atmosphere, friendly service, great food!!!

The kids took us here for a Christmas gift. All four of us thought the dinner food was top notch and reasonable prices. They have several different rooms so it is more intimate. They plan on adding art and music soon. The selections were limited but they just opened and with such good food I'm sure the crowd and menu will both pick up quickly. Have to try breakfast soon. Owner was very friendly.

Finally got to go for dinner...special occasion :) 5/30/15 As you may know it's BYOB, they provide an ice bucket with ice water to chill your bottle quickly. To eat.... Maryland crab cakes with whipped (says puree on menu) sweet potato and I decided on zucchini. The crab cakes were {{fabulous}} and I'm very picky in fact....the fact I even tried the crab cakes shows a certain trust in this resturant. They did good. :) Obvious butter flavor in the sweet potato puree and zucchini which was grilled. Sea Bass Special.....He doesn't remember beyond....It was good. hehehehe Over all I think the staff was young and a bit unpolished, nothing particularly wrong just....a bit off. We checked out the second floor and one of the rooms look disheveled most likely a party cleared out and the room wasn't put back properly....no one was up there we were just checking it out but I think it should have been tiddied up Double checked.....Saturday night piano player with a vocalist.

Very nice atmosphere with pictures of Paris throughout the downstairs room. The potato soup special was wonderful. Just the right consistency with chicks of potatoes and minced bacon. My seared scallops with farro was delightful. The scallops were seasoned well and the farro was cooked perfectly. My husband was not as lucky. His tomato bacon soup was extremely thick. It almost seemed like it had been sitting on the stove too long. His swordfish was cooked well but underseasoned. Dessert however was sublime. I would highly recommend the creme brulee. I would have given this restaurant 4 starts but my husband needs more convincing.

We used Front Porch Cafe for a staff appreciation event for 100 people. Food and service was excellent. The chef is passionate about his trade and skilled at what he does. The price was very reasonable considering that we had a cheese tray, appetizers, soup, multiple choices for the main entree and dessert. I was blown away by the accommodations that were made for us. The atmosphere is warm and a wonderful repurpose of a historic home.

We two chaperones and five high school seniors stopped for dinner as we returned home from Baltimore. At first look, the menu was pricier than what we wanted. Some ordered appetizers, others, burgers. All of us were VERY pleased with our selections. Our server was very good. The bus boys were attentive, too. Linen tablecloths and napkins, were an indication of the fine creations from the kitchen. Best wishes as you celebrate your first year!

We came for restaurant week. A great time to find and try new places. When we came in we where ignored and after a while asked by two different members of staff if we had a reservation. They had trouble finding our reservation. A server complained about not wanting us in her section because there where only two of us and she wanted more so that she could make more tips. In front of us! I had tomato soup. Bland and I have made better from can and the same goes with the vegetable grain soup that my friend had. I had a chicken pesto sandwich also bland. Couldn't taste the pesto and the chicken was dry and over cooked. Friends sandwich was braised short ribs. All it tasted like was nasty fat. We had long waits for our food and our water ran out. It was clear from the tables next to ours that we were not the only ones not enjoying our meal or lack of service. The unprofessional icing on the cake for me was a man who appeared to be at least shift manage calling out to us as we where leaving (half way out the door) thank you for coming. New and claiming to be upscale I expect more. Haven't been back and won't good back.
