oh fiesta mexico...been here several times, most recently for a friend's bday. she swears by this place and comes here frequently so maybe it is just that we have different tastes in mexican food but i think this place is subpar! the dishes are oversalted and underflavored. i had the appetizer chicken quesidilla (the only quesidilla on the menu that comes with salsa and gauc for free, otherwise you are going to pay over a $1 for each) and 1 soft chicken taco. it was OK. not inedible but it was just kind of blah - very bland and watery. i feel like i could have (and have) made this better in my own kitchen using a mccormick taco seasoning packet. partner had three hard tacos and felt like he got skimpy portions. others at our table were not very impressed - when you order burritos grande you would think it would be a large portion? but not here. i have a pretty bad sweet tooth so i split the churros with a friend. this was the only thing that i would come back for. while others might think it makes it more "authentic" i for one am not impressed by having a server who has such a tenuous grasp of the english language that you can't even ask them if you were delivered the correct dish. 4/5 staff that we interacted with that night were non-english speakers. moral of the story: save up your pesos and go to the only slightly more expensive (but vastly superior) mexican/peruvian el serrano just down the street.

OK....I've upgraded from the chicken chimichanga to the chicken fajita (it's much more calorie friendly) and delicious! We still come about once a week. So if someone finds out this meal is high in calories... please don't tell me! It's a great place to get a great meal for a very reasonable price!

First time for "Mexican", big deal.Taco Bell(yet not a real restaurant) is cheaper and the same wait,....better...how can that be?...waitress did not care if I exsisted smile please? at least lie about it.....menu taken right away? I would have ordered more food....taquitos way overcooked......kids in next booth should be tied up and left in car.....dark corner, thanxx anyways....the experience pretty much sucked.....not going back....

One of our favorite places to go. I usually get a Chambord margarita and the chicken fajitas, my fiance gets the enchiladas. The food is great, the service is good, the prices are reasonable.

I was not impressed with Fiesta Mexico. The first time eating here was for a lunch meeting, I had the chicken fajitas. The chicken was ok, and the onions and peppers were dripping with grease. The decor is cliche, our waitress was rather inattentive, and the food was not impressive. If you want authentic Mexican cuisine, book your flight to Mexico now.

The original Fiesta Mexico in Harrisburg is better than this place overall, quality, service, atmosphere but still a good alternative to the only other Mexican restaurant I like in York, El Rodeo

Good Mexican food for a good price. They keep the chips and salsa coming. Great choice, all around.

This place was excellent!! I lived in Phoenix, Arizona for 4 yrs so I Picky when it comes to Mexican. I ordered the carne asada tacos and my boyfriend the Hawaiian fajitas both were fresh made to order delicious food! My steak (carne asada) was tender just like the menu said and the refried beans very good!! My boyfriend who is very picky actually liked it and said he would come back! As would I, I will be taking advantage of their lunch specials! So happy I found good Mexican food in central PA!

We have been here tons of times and each time consistently amazing. Restaurant is clean, service amazing. Food on point each time. Our favorite thing that we have to order every time regardless is the chillie rellenous - beef amazing !! If you want a grander affair they do have one located right on Bass Pro Drive in Harrisburg. That is a really nice setting, much grander but same greatness !!!

So on food alone, Fiesta Mexico rates a 3-- however, their service is so fantastic that I have to bump them up to a 4. They have the friendliest servers who are super patient, attentive, and helpful. The food is good, not the best Mexican I've ever had but surely not the worst. I'm pretty boring when it comes to ordering at these kinds of places (tacos + beans, por favor), but I've dined with others who have enjoyed slightly more sophisticated options. I would definitely say Fiesta Mexico is the best Mexican joint in York. Does it compare to something you'd eat in South Texas? Heck no. But I certainly don't expect it to. Fiesta Mexico also offers a lot of promotions/discounts-- most recently a $4.99 lunch deal. Their beers are also incredibly inexpensive, at least compared to the price tag I'm used to seeing for Dos Equis. I've been there more than once where a group of 3 has dined, with beers, for less than $45. That, in my book, is a deal.

My first time here was over the weekend and it was the second time for my wife. The restaurant is pretty spacious despite looking small from the outside. The decor is what I consider to be the usual set up for a Tex-Mex establishment. The service was fast and prompt in that we were greeted and seated within a couple of minutes. We got our basket of chips and salsa shortly after sitting and had our drinks shortly after the server greeted us. I got the beef fajitas and my wife got a platter with all sorts of stuff on it. There were several things on it and I am sorry but I can't remember anything other than the beef taco with the re-fried beans and rice. As for me, I remember the beef fajitas which came with three flour tortilla wraps, a plate of rice, re-fried beans, guacamole, sour cream, a little bit of salsa and a handful of iceberg lettuce. The beef was flavorful and had some grilled onions, peppers and tomato. I don't know if it's a growing trend or if it is the new/old cooking style for fajitas but the beef is cut into smaller pieces and cooked well done. It takes getting used to since I am accustomed to the thicker sliced beef and medium cooked meat. It was still good despite being cooked well. I like the fact that this place serves it's fajita the way it's suppose to be which is on a hot iron skillet. I know some places have stopped doing that because people have been getting burned from touching the hot skillet. Seriously, people need to wake up and remember that their food is on a hot skillet. Why should we fajita eaters have to suffer and have it served on a plate due to the fact that there are morons that have burned themselves off of a hot skillet? So, if you are looking for some Mexican food to try, give this place a chance. Portion sizes are good, the staff is friendly and attentive and the price is just right. Thanks for reading my review. This review is based off of my personal experience and opinion.

The moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a good meal. From the smell, I knew the food was good. I'm from Chicago and we have plenty of good and authentic Mexican, so I am picky and know quality when I smell it and taste it, and this place is awesome. I was a little disappointed that they were out of lengua, so I went with the crane asada tacos and beef enchilada on the side with a strawberry margarita. Service was prompt and the food came out quickly. The enchilada was good and so were the tacos. The asada was tender and not diced up into tiny pieces. Good bite size chunks, the way it is supposed to be. If I have to come back to York for work, this place will get another visit from me

I have been to this location twice now - the first time was after I got married at the District Magistrate and with a group of family. This past weekend My wife and I decided to avoid fast food and stopped in. They had signs up with specials for cinco de mayo. The two listed that we decided to were Crab Enchiladas and Fish Tacos - both were reasonably priced - 8.95 and 6.75 respectively. I ordered a Tecate and it came with a lime in the bottle neck, so I asked for a glass and they returned promptly with a mug. Before I go on I will mention that I was told the owner also owns El Rodeo on RT 30, which is the place I was using as point of reference for comparison. I like the layout - it seems mor spacious with a few separate seating areas -booths, tables for two and long group tables with a nice window with view of half the parking lot. They have a small bar in the back toward the kitchen area too. There was a server that appeared to be receiving training, but it did not delay anything our food came out hot within minutes. I asked for hot sauce and was handed two bottles -one pepper sauce and one habanero sauce which was nice for the choice. I tasted my wife's crab enchilada which tasted like a crab cake sliced up, put into a tortilla and covered with cheese sauce. It tastes better than it sounds, but the filler (breading, red pepper) was an unnecessary addition. I enjoyed the cold beer and fish tacos with some habanero sauce mixed in to the rice which was cooked very well - nice and fluffy with great texure. We picked up a gift card for my father in law's birthday too, so it was very convenient. I prefer Fiesta Mexico slightly to El Rodeo, but have considered both to be better than average service wise and the food is good too.

Went on a Wednesday night and it was empty. The server was attentive without being overbearing, and nice, his English was just fine, and the food was delicious, plentiful, and reasonably priced. Dining partner said that this was the closest he's had to "real" Mexican food since his travels to Mexico while living in Southern California. Will definitely be back!

Went Saturday night and was happy to be seated immediately. The tortillas were warm and perfectly seasoned when they were brought to the table. The beef in my chimichanga and my hubby's fajitas was tender and flavorful. Cheap beer, good food, great service...we enjoyed it!

This has got to be one of the best Mexican restaurants I have been to in the States. The chorizo is amazingly authentic and the portions are hefty, yeah I said hefty. "The Good" -The prices are very reasonable for both the quality and amount of food. -All the food was very high quality and very different then the cookie cutter Mexican restaurant that exists throughout the States... Although some of the menu items have the same names you can always taste when there is love and pride in the food. -This is the first time I ever saw advertising on a Pint Glass... kinda similar to the old advertising on the place mat but on the pint. -Queso Fundido. Please, just order it... do not think about it or what it will do. This would be one of the last meal dishes everyone thinks about. It is simply amazing -Jarritos (What soda is supposed to be) "The Meh" The limit of two baskets of chips. Yeah you need to save room for the fantastic food, but with the people I hang with those chips will not stand a chance. "The Bad" The fact that there will be no room for desert unless your portion control and will power are at their best.

We've passed Fiesta Mexico plenty of times and finally got to try it out this week. The decor looks pretty similar to El Rodero's, which makes perfect sense if they're owned by the same person as the other review indicates. We were greeted warmly and seated right away. I'm personally on again, off again about Mexico food and usually need to be in the mood to dig in. Sadly this mood only comes around once in a long, long time. At Fiesta Mexico I finally found something that I can always eat - the fish tacos. I've been to Fiesta Mexico twice so far and had it both times, I just couldn't resist it. The fish, according to a friend, is a battered and fried haddock. The taco is very simply done - a bit of lettuce and loaded with fish and pico de gallo. My boyfriend had the Chile Colorado and Chile Verde and said both were good, although the Colorado won out. The rest of the menu looks pretty interesting as well and I hope to have many trips back to sample them all!

This restaurant is new to York, PA, but I believe they're also in Harrisburg. We wanted to check it out as soon as it opened, right across from the Super Wal-Mart. So, last weekend, we did! First off, the menu is nearly identical to El Rodeo's, but, I think the food tasted better. Maybe I wanted it to, I dunno. I ordered the shrimp enchiladas and was very pleased. I also ordered an avocado salad on the side, which I think they should just include because it is very small. I had a pina colada and it was portioned correctly, no overkill on any ingredient, which was nice. My husband ordered the vegetarian special and said it was exactly the same as El Rodeo's, which he enjoys, so he was a happy camper. Our waiter was kind and cheerful, but he did take awhile to bring us the white cheese queso dip that we requested to go with our complimentary tortilla chips. The bathroom was tiny, but clean as far as small ladies' rooms go, nonetheless. We sat at our table with our friends for nearly 2 hours on a Saturday at their busiest time and were perfectly content with the atmosphere. The music was low enough that it didn't interrupt our conversation. All in all, I like the place! I will definitely go back. In fact, I like it better than El Rodeo, which is good because it's closer to my house!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization.
