The only reason I give Aroogas 4 stars instead of 5 is there are just too many TVs, it is very weird. Otherwise it is awesome here! There are so many pages and items on the menu there is definitely something for everyone. There are specials all day, every day for 6$ pitchers of various beers and boozes. They have a huge beer list of drafts and bottles also.

I placed an order for take out. The hostess was friendly as well as the bartender. The menu has a variety of choices. A huge selection of wing sauces. My order was ready when I arrived within the quoted time frame. I received the correct items. We love the grilled chicken on a pretzel roll. Great Food, Reasonably Priced, Friendly Staff.

Update! After the last "bad" planning visit, I gave it another try.. Great crab legs! Nearly perfect when paired with your favorite beer! This time I had them with Troegg's IPA, and they were GREAT! Fast service, great crab legs!

Food is AMAZING. And amazing selection of wing sauces! However, service was slowwwww. Took a while to even get seated and then forever for our food come out. And the place was far from packed. Once our food did make it to the table (over 30 mins after we ordered) our bleu cheese fries were missing and the server forgot my silverware. Our waiter was very nice and gave us the fries on the house due to the wait. I hope the service we got was just a bad day and not a typical event.

We stopped in to watch the Women's World Cup and had a good time. We each got a salad, a burger, and a beer. Our server was friendly, but the hosts were a bit confused about seating people. My only issue was that they gave me a Smoked Gouda Burger with nothing on it except the Gouda. I had to remind them that it's supposed to have bacon, which they did revise for me. The picture in the menu showed it with lettuce, tomato, and a white sauce as well but I decided not to raise that issue. I do recommend that burger, though, because the smoked Gouda was delicious. Their fries are very good, too.

I love Arooga's, I think they have the best old Bay wings in York. I've never gotten anything from here that didn't taste good. Beer is well priced and service is quick.

Had the urge for some wings and decided to go to Arooga's. Arrived around 5:45 PM on a Saturday evening. The place was not busy. We were seated and ordered drinks. This is where everything went down hill. It took almost 10minutes to get my first beer. The waitress stating the bar was backed up (I ordered a draft!). Ordered the pepper jack app special. Came out right away but the cheese center was still frozen. They got us anther order quickly. Good news there. The wings came as we ordered....good overall. The salad we ordered was missing the cheese so the waitress gave us a plate with cheese on it. We ordered flatbread and a cheesesteak and they must have taken 30 to get to the table. The staff apologized for the delay and have me a free beer. Overall poor service. Even with the free beer, the manager never visited any tablespoon check out the visit. Good okay, but I can get that anywhere. Not a good experience.

Pretty good sports bar with excellent wings. Boneless wings not so much. They were similar to chicken nuggets. The huge array of sauces was awesome. They have daily beer specials, and Wednesday or Thursday wing nights. Recommended.

Arrived a little after 4:30pm and was seated right away. I've never seen such a huge assortment of sauces in my life... My husband and I couldn't choose so we asked the server... We picked what she liked which was ragin Cajun 20 wings for 18.00 they were AMAZING. Not so spicy you can't breath but spicy enough... They arrived quick.. Also ordered loaded frys and they were equally amazing!! Everything was brought out quick and tasted great.. I will defiantly be coming here again!! Our server was absolutely amazing she's funny and talkative.. Helped us decide what to get with never being here before..

OK, so I have noticed a ridiculous amount of food snobs reviewing Aroogas and doing nothing but crabbing about the "poor service and horrid food". I just need to say... People, please find a life. You are in York PA. Not a 5 star downtown Chicago restaurant. I am from there, and had average culinary expectations at Aroogas. I was surprised and delighted by the array of options and the friendly(if not speedy) service. They were pretty busy but still on the ball. I was with a party of 4 and the only legitimate complaint was about the trivia that 2of our party came out for. It had been rescheduled and no one was told. Aside from that(being that it was of very little importance) we proceeded to have a great time. Someone said there were too many t.v.'s? Are you serious? How is that EVER something to crab about at a SPORTS BAR? Sorry, Aroogas, that there are such horrible, snobby reviewers out there. Believe me, you are all better off without them all. Leave a decent place to us decent folk.

Where do I start. We had never tried Arooga's before and decided to pick up an order to take home for the NFL playoff Sunday. We call in at 1:00, they tell us an hour so I show up just before 2:00. I pull into the parking lot, still covered in ice (way to consider your liabilities) and walk inside. Ask where to pick up my take out order. I am met with "Not here" and nothing more than a point to the bar. Great start! Now, over at the bar, it takes me almost 10 full minutes to have anyone ask me if I need service. All the while three servers are huddled around an old drunk in the corner, laughing it up and ignoring customers. (Two walked out with some expletive laden calls to the servers) Finally, I pay for the order and get told it will be right up. While I wait at the bar I watch three separate people behind the bar. Each one of the three would put their foot on the cooler while chatting with customers. Disgusting! Next, I watch them pour from the taps. First they put the still wet glass right on the tap itself. Then they let the beer flow until the tap in submerged. Hello bacteria! Now it is about 2:30 and I am informed that they are out of fries. Are you kidding me?!? How do you run out of fried at 2PM on a playoff Sunday. Finally at nearly 3:00 my food comes out. Two hours after being ordered. I was thrilled to leave the obnoxiously loud bar and head home. It did not get any better. From the critique of my group: The burger was less than average. The nachos are basically chips in a box with some cheese goo in a cup. The "home made chips" were fair. The crab pretzel was the saving grace, it was average at best. The sliders were an embarrassment. I will never set foot in that food poison factory again. Good riddance.

We came to Arooga's as a suggestion from my neighbors who are huge fans. They suggested we go here because the gluten-free selection is huge. They were right, huge selection of g-free items! We came on a Sunday (39 cent wings!) and tried all kinds. I had their traditional "everything" wing and they were outstanding! So good! My kids all ordered boneless wings but they were out of them... so we got traditional for them also. Super messy for three young kids but they loved them. They ordered the sweet BBQ and the general tso flavors. We ordered the seafood nachos as an appetizer and they were awesome too. They gave the kids some kind of game tablet and of course they thought that was awesome. We will be going back!

I like to say something good first. The all-you-can-eat crab legs were excellent, and our server was a delight who kept on top of everything. But . . . The wait for a table was one hour, even though we got there at 5:15 and were third in line. The dining room wasn't large enough for a sports-bar theme, nor was it attractive. The TV at our table was filthy--stomach-churning filthy. The pretzels that came with our crab dip were overbaked (in fact, black on the bottoms), and the hush puppies and cole slaw were average at best. I hope things improve with managing the building and crowds--there's some really nice folks working there and I'd like to see the place operating successfully. One more thing--watch the mixed drinks. There is very little alcohol in them. I mean "miniscule"! Go for the beer specials instead.

Yet another dumpy sports bar chain restaurant that doesn't get it. 1 1/3rds stars Food ordered - Fried Pickles ..........terrible Long Bomb Burger ..........good Fries ..........poor Rogue Dead Guy Ale..........excellent, however see note below French Dip ..........fair Coleslaw ...........phenomenally disgusting Pros: -Menu seems to have a good variety of options -They carry a couple good craft selections -Sandwich buns are pretty good Cons: -Sadly aprrox 50% of the draft beers and 66% of the bottled beers are garbage BMC. Kind of embarrassing. -My beer was brought out without a glass. Craft should always be served w/ a glass or at least ask me if I want one. -When I received a glass it was all wet..another no no. -Fried pickles were overcooked and the breading would fall all off as soon as you touched them -Fries were soggy and unsalted -Salt shakers are an adjustable grinder type permanently set to the Broken setting -Coleslaw was just some hard dry cabbage in a cup..?? I don't get it. Worst ever. -Portion sizes are small -Staff does not seem to be very well trained at all. I blame management. -Cheesy waitress uniforms -There is an annoying number of TVs in this place. I would rather have about 30 less TVs if it meant better service and/or food -Decor is cheap -Parking lot is hilly Update 05/28 Onion Rings are just like the fried pickles.. tiny portion, fried in old oil, breading falls off - terrible Kangarooga Quesidilla - just really bland Oskar Blues Deviant Dales on tap - good beer but $6.50?! Hahaha yeah right. I'm officially done with this place. Update Gee thanks yelp for filtering out my review. So glad I wasted the time giving an honest critique. Reminds me of a Hooters/Fridays/typical American sports bar/restaurant kinda place. Food is good. Drinks are good, not strong enough for me but eh. Service has always been good when I go. Hasn't exactly knocked my socks off, but they are friendly and attentive. Big plus, they play ALL the UFC pay per view fights and it's usually less crowded than hooters on fight night.

I'll start by saying I do like Arooga's, however it is not my first choice if I am looking to get wings. I mention the wings, because that seems to be what they are known for. While their wings(traditional & boneless) are perfectly fine, there is a certain chain restaurant in the area who's sauces I like a little better. I've had other food here as well, and I have yet to be disappointed. I've only ever been on the bar side, but the service has been friendly and the food good. They have good happy hour specials on domestic beer and on Monday's they do all you can eat wings and fries for about $12. I think they have great fries here. The beer selection is not too bad either, as they usually have a few smaller microbrews on tap. They also have quite a few TV's so that you don't miss your game. They DO NOT allow smoking here which is also nice. This is definitely a place I will return to.

My husband and I went yesterday for an early dinner/late lunch. What a mistake. We sat down and waited about 10 minutes to be approached for a drink order. We were then approached by two more servers within five minutes....could go either way. It turned out to be a bad sign. The place wasn't nearly full and it took 10 more minutes to get two bottled beers. We placed our food order; 10 wings, nachos and a salad. Now, we waited 30 more minutes for our food and it all came out at the same time. The service was awful, the food was just ok. The wings were good, but the salad was ALL lettuce (maybe 2 ounces of chicken and a couple of tomatoes) and the nachos were nothing to write home about. Mostly they were pre-packaged ingredients. We won't be going back any time soon.

I wasn't impressed at all with my first visit here. We sat on the bar side at a tall table which I did like allot. I like the taller tables, they work better for me and are more comfortable. The waitress did take our drink orders soon after we were seated but it took 15 to 20 minutes to actually get our drinks, strike 1. I was trying to figure out why it was taking so long to get our drinks because we were sitting basically right in front of the bar and it wasn't really all that busy. I took notice that the bar tender/beer pourer was way more interested in flirting with a dude sitting at the bar and putting on lip stick than actually pouring anyones beers. They did have a very nice tap selection there, however almost half of them were still corporate beers. I have to laugh when I see that and especially when someone (sitting behind us) asks for the beer list and then still orders a Coors Light? We were there on Saturday 2/25/12 for lunch so we put in for a appetizer, I believe it was the crab pretzel. And then ordered our sandwiches for lunch. They have it set up that another person brings the meal out for the waitress and they missed our appetizer all together. So that was pretty much strike 2 for us and strike 3 was the food wasn't all that good. I had the Pittsburger which is a egg over easy on top of a bacon cheeseburger. Well what they brought me was a broken yoke egg fried hard on a over cooked bacon cheeseburger. Here is the thing, and please take note Aroogas. if your going to have a extensive tap list don't have 50% of them be corporate beer. And have staff that knows what beers are so they can help your patrons make beer decision that go well with the food. I was having a hard time understanding why they had such a extensive tap system but they were not pouring many beers. I was shocked at that because every tap room we've ever been at that has a extensive tap system in it you always see a pint being filled. Thats the point of having all those taps. And please cut your menu down a few pages. There is no reason to have that large of a menu in a "sports bar". It is way better to coot and serve 10 different meals that taste fantastic than serve 30 that are just ok. Take it from a fat guy that loves to eat, cook, and drink beer....I know what I'm talking about. I'll give them a few weeks to get there heads out of there a$$es before we try it again. i hope it will be better results the next time.

After 3 months of being open, I finally get out to the infamous Arooga's. I have heard great things about Arooga's, but have also read some bad things too. You know what, though? I had to check it out myself. We had a large party of 8, which was nothing compared to the 16-top, and the 10-top that had apparently already been there. This forced us to eat in the bar area. This definatly wasn't my first choice, but, it wasn't horrible. Let me tell you though, if you are reading the reviews, someone mention the abnoxioius amount of TV's. He is right, just to many TV's. It is unnecessary. The ad on the table stated that from anywhere in the restaurant, you could view all the TV's. They weren't kidding, but let me tell you, its not a good thing. As we waited for everyone to arrive we ordered drinks and viewed the menu. There was a ton of information in the menu. I was overwhelmed. So, we finally did order. A bunch of appetizers, and I got the wings (kangaroo-something or other), and some kind of blues chips. First, the appetizers come out, and there was much hype about the crab pretzel. PHENOMENAL! It was everything I expected it to be. Seafood Nacho's were good... OH, forgot to mention, got a lager, during happy hour. $2.00 Not bad! So, the entree...wings, you know that kangaroo flavor. The wings were very good. Only downfall was that by the time they got to me, I was basically filled up on the apps that came earlier. Then there were the chips, not as good as I wanted them to be. I won't be ordering those again. Atmosphere was annoyingly loud. I guess that was to be expected considering the number of TV's and such. Service was good.. Our server seemed busy and rushed, but she was very accomodating. We even sent back a margarita, which she replaced. She gets a A for effort. Arooga's was just okay. If anything I would just come back for the crab pretzels, and the several different flavor wings, which I feel like I have to try.

I love Arooga's. I've never ordered anything (food) that I didn't like. The drinks are good. The service is pretty good; and they show all the big sporting events, INCLUDING UFC fights. If there is a fight, it can get pretty crowded; otherwise, it's quiet and you don't have to wait forever (you don't have to wait at all) to be seated.

I don't typically go for the "Cookie Cutter" Sports Bars but I've got a soft spot for Arooga's. Their Beer & Liquor selection is fantastic, a great mix of Craft and 'Big' Beers. Their food is good, it isn't anything new or exciting, just your typical pup fare at reasonable prices. The atmosphere of the restaurant is what will bring me back. It's just a cool, fun place to hang out and watch a game. What can I say... I'm a fan.

This was the first time I ever been to Aroogas and won't be the last. They had Troegs Nugget Nectar on tap and an awesome menu that would satisfy the pickiest eaters. The place was jumping with over 100 flat panels and bumpen music on the bar side. I had some wings , carribean jerk and buffalo blue, they were cooked to perfection. The service was on point and very friendly. I also had some ghost face killer shrimp , Shew made with ghost chilies , damn the hottest thing on the planet. I think this place is gonna do great in York, there was plenty of parking and the prices were very reasonable. A fun night out for sure!

Tried this sports restaurant/bar twice because I really like to support locally owned businesses over the big out of town corporations . Their beer menu and drink menus have no prices. The waitresses are told to not quote prices. They tell you they have to go ask the bartender for anything you want to order, pressuring you to order blind, or they make you wait while they go about their business and come back later with a price. I wound up ordering a cheap special to avoid waiting for the price of a premium beer I would have preferred. Their prices are a little high and the fishbowls are totally full of ice. You are lucky to have 3 ounces of drink for $8. The waitresses are nice. The food was ok, the wings are good, but the rest of their food is average. The meat in the sliders 3/$9 are about 2 inches in diameter. Upcharge for the crab cake slider which seriously maybe had 1 tablespoonful of a dry patty, no tartar sauce, etc. even if ordered. The kitchen misses items on the orders, happened both times we went. Overall, I like the physical facility itself and the wait staff was nice, I have a good time going out with my friends wherever we go. However we will go somewhere else unless I hear that the product and menus have improved. Also, for those who require healthy choices, they have nothing to speak of on the menu. Even Burger King right next door serves a veggie burger and has decent salads.
