Tasty Pastries and Sandwiches for the Afternoons. Panera Bread has a great location for the students of Penn State - Abington and the community. It is a great place to have a meeting, hang out with friends for lunch, or simply study with access to free wireless. The atmosphere is quiet and cozy. The food there is fresh, tasty and affordable. No complaints. There is a You-Pick-Two Deal there (if you want to be able to watch how much you eat), which is where you can choose 2 of the following: 1/2 of a salad or 1/2 of a soup or 1/2 of a sandwich. There is bit of a wait, but just a perfect amount of time to make your food taste warm and perfect. There is no preference for any specific food to get, because they are all almost great. However, broccoli chedder soup is amazing and deserves to be recognized. It is made perfect for a bowl of soup. All of the salads there are also very creative and delicious! There is also a Mango smoothie. A bit sweet, so if you are a diabetic, I prefer you not to get it. For others who enjoy frozen smoothies, it is very, very good. There is a squeeze of raspberry sauce, with a topping of whip cream. It's full of flavor!

Panera is, more often than not, a pretty solid choice for chain food. You usually know what you're going to get, it usually tastes good, and you usually are mostly satisfied on the way out. Panera in Willow Grove has an issue. They are not your typical Panera. I've visited several times. First visit: -They put my salad from a You Pick Two into a (small) to-go soup container. -My friend asked for the Mediterranean Veg sandwich with tuna. He received a tuna sandwich with 4 red peppers on it and nothing else. To their credit, the manager remade his sandwich with a full selection of veggies and apologized. I didn't complain about the (small) to-go soup bowl. Second visit: -All four of us ordered the Fuji Apple Chicken Salad. None of us received the Fuju apple chips on the salad. When I asked about it, they said, "Oh, we ran out of those." Well, now we just have a salad with chicken on top. A (different) manager refunded the price of two of our salads, which was a decent enough response. She also explained to their cashiers that they need to tell people that they are out of the Fuji apple chips. My biggest issue with this is that someone (presumably a manager) is doing the ordering for them. How do you let a main ingredient in a dish that you have plastered all over your windows and columns to run out? That's poor execution. And there is no excuse. Third visit: Finally some good stuff (and the reason they scored a second star) here. -My dad is big on monitoring his sodium intake and he asked for the nutritional information for a couple soups and the cashier brought a huge 5 inch binder of all of their food. It took a few minutes, but she went through the binder with my dad to find what he was looking for. But it wasn't to last...my dad ordered a salad with a different dressing on the side and he got the wrong dressing. I ordered the Fuji Apple Chicken salad (glutton for punishment, I guess) and didn't get any dressing on it, which is the second best part of that salad. When I went back up to get dressing, the guy behind the counter didn't see/acknowledge me for two minutes even though he was facing my direction. I don't need to be helped right away, but at least tell me that you'll be right with me. It's a shame that this Panera is consistently disappointing. I like Panera. I'll probably go again since the third visit wasn't as bad as the first two had been. But I'll go begrudgingly and only if there isn't a better option or I'm too lazy to come up with a better option. Incidentally, I noticed that they had spare bags of apple chips in the prep area during the last visit.

I usually like panera bread...but this one seems to save money buy filling up the salad bowls less than halfway. At first I thought it was an honest mistake. Then I looked around and saw that other diners' portions were small too. Also server asked if she could take my plate away while my plate still had an un-eaten sandwich and apple!

Completely dissatisfied with the customer service as well as products of this particular location. I am an avid Panera Bread customer but not this location. I love their soups and salads and again frequent the chain often. I have recently moved to the Philadelphia area and this happens to be the closest chain to me which isn't tremendously close..it's about a 20 minute drive but because I love Panera...I don't mind the drive. However, I have been to this location three times and can say I will NEVER come here again. First Experience I was greeted properly and ordered a Fuji Apple salad. The fuji apple salad comes with onions, chicken, apple chips, walnuts, and feta cheese. I think tomatoes too but can't remember with a raspberry vinigarette dressing. I had my mouth prepared for the mouth watering salad and all the flavors it encompasses to only open a salad with iceberg lettuce and chicken. That is all my salad had. It had nothing else. I was very upset but ate it any way because it is a 20 minute drive from me. So, going back wasn't an option. Second Experience I arrived at 7:30 pm on a Tuesday night. I was craving some soup badly. I walk into the store to teenagers who work there, clowning around behind the register. Throwing things at one another, play fighting and what have you. I stood there for about a minute or so before being acknowledged. I asked for brocolli cheddar soup and the cashier stated they were out. I then asked for chicken noodle and she again stated they were out. I then asked for french onion soup and she stated they were out! I am now a little annoyed at this point because the signs on the "soup" board indicates that all of these soups are still available which was misleading. I mentioned this to the cashier and she then had one of the employees remove the soups they were out of from the wall. I then proceeded to ask her what soups they did have because maybe that would be easier. She replied, "tomato soup"...my least favorite. I asked what time do they close? She responded, "9 pm". I looked at my watch which read 7:24...So I then proceeded to ask if they planned on making anymore of the soups, being that it was a couple hours before closing time and one of the teenagers snickered in the background and she told me that once they were out...they were out. So, I said thanks and walked out. This should've been my last time here you'd think right? Well, I was in the area and decided to try it one more time. Third and LAST experience I arrived at 7:55 pm this time and again asked for brocolli cheddar soup, they had it but didn't have any dipping baguette bread only sliced bread. So, I canceled my order and walked out. The management here really needs to get a handle on this place quickly because I am not the only dissatisfied customer! Panera Bread is not being represented well here! At all....

I am a sucker for a good bagel. I should have reviewed Panera last year when I tried their bagels for the first time but it just slipped my mind. Went to Panera today, got the bakers dozen. 3 Everything, 2 Sweet Onion & Poppy, 4 Whole Grain, 2 Asiago Cheese and 2 Cherry Vanilla. Soft, fresh and awesome. The whole bagel ordering process can be timely, but the good thing is that they have this nifty bagel slicing machine to make things move smoother if you decide to have your bagels sliced. While waiting on line, I noticed the teas on the counter. The prices for tea were not listed, so I asked how much a tea bag was. I didn't want a cup of hot tea, I just wanted to try the Orange Ginger Mint Tea. The young man said if I wanted to try it, I can take a tea bag. I thought that was cool of him. I have yet to try the tea, though, but I did google it and was happy to discover that it was available online. I can't review the other side of Panera, as I have yet to order a salad, soup or sandwich, but seeing these reviews, it doesn't make me really want to! Hope they've made improvements over on that side! I think the price range is pricey, as the bagels are $1.59 (although I did notice that the whole grain bagels were $1.05).

Delicious!!! And such great customer service. Jerry (?) was so great, even let us try a taste of a new soup. I had tuna & the squash soup, my husband had chicken apple sandwich & broccoli cheddar soup. The squash soup ruled! Their tuna had always been my favorite. Will definitely be back!

I must agree with most of the reviews- if you've ever been to another Panera location, you will be disappointed here. The service and portions are no comparison, even to the Jenkintown Fairway location down the street. I'll only stop for take out items like bread or bagels.
I've enjoyed my fair share of Panera over the years, at lots of different locations. I generally love my experiences, but I didn't enjoy this one. This Panera has one nasty cashier. She doesn't seem happy at all to be there, talks down on people, and holds out her hand for the money as she tells you the total price. She was so rude and so impatient. Mind you, it was 10am on a Friday morning, so it was quite empty, but when it took me some time to get the cash out, she seemed to get more and more frustrated with me. For the first time, I also got a breakfast sandwich, which I now know, I will never ever ever get ever again. It tasted so processed and soggy. Stick with the salads and paninis and go to the Conshohocken location.

The food is ok at this panera bread. The atmosphere not so much (past 7:30 PM). Loud employees just socializing away. Feel bad for the manager, he really seems to be working hard. Anyway, I suggest getting takeout or eating in your car.

This location is a little larger than the average Panera Bread store. The few times I've been here, service has always been friendly and quick. As with all Paneras, the soups are delicious! My favorite sandwiches involve their french bread. And you can't help but be amazed by some of their salad combinations.

Panera Bread in Willow Grove feat. suburban nightmare. This place is massive and was jam packed with weirdos the day I went. Service- The food came out fast. The people at the registers were zombies but what do you expect. Atmosphere- Terrifying. One table was totally covered in old food and spillage, the next table was by a drafty window, the next one we almost got attacked by a family while sitting down. There's nothing quite as scary as people turning into barbarians and chomping (mouth open chewing of course) on bread bowls when their soup is gone. That's a good way to kill your appetite. So many cretins. Food- Being a chain, you know that the food will be consistent. I enjoy a bowl of soup and some multi grain bread once or twice a year. It was decent. This whole experience ended with my friend and I walking to my car in the parking lot and coming about 3 inches away from being hit by a crazy lady's car! She then proceeded to back up, try to turn again, SMASH her car on the curb, and drive away quickly like nothing happened while never once making eye contact. Would I go back? Nah. Take me back to the city. I'm scared.

I love Cosi and Corner Bakery, and I want to love Panera, but at heart I'm a salad girl. I know Panera has good soup/bread/sandwiches (or I assume the sandwiches are good), but I have yet to experience a decent salad here. This time I ordered the Cobb salad without chicken. They did not have honey mustard, but I rolled with it. I asked for extra cheese since they do NOT lower the salad price even if you cut out the expensive chicken (which is really the biggest single cost of the salad). I was very surprised by the following: 1. NOTHING on the salad was chopped except for the tomatoes. It was literally a bowl of lettuce with a hard boiled egg cut in HALF (not even fours) and an avocado split in two (yes, I said, two) sitting on top. I have absolutely not idea how you are supposed to eat a salad like this without cutting them up? And, I have ordered hundreds of salads and never seen them served like this. Eat the egg and avocado, then nibble on naked lettuce?....no thanks. So, as I did not have a knife, I spent my salad eating time cutting little pieces of everything with my fork to join together in one cohesive bite. Silly. 2. They cannot seem to get with the times and actually charge a fair price for a salad without meat, even though a salad is exactly what most vegetarians would order. They do not offer a salad without meat (except the house salad), so you are forced to pay extra for meat you don't get. 3. They gave me a TINY cup of extra cheese, about the volume of a tablespoon to make up of the price discrepancy. Sad, sad. 4. The dressing they serve with the Cobb is a herb vinaigrette, and it is far too herby and not sweet enough. In my humble (extensive) salad eating experience, the herb dressing did not go with the Cobb flavors at all. I found it very odd. They need a fancy ranch, or blue cheese, or honey mustard for this profile. All in all, I'm probably done here. My friends keep wanting to meet at Panera, but the last 2 times were a bust as well for me. First time, I got a watery salad, which was overpriced without meat, and the ingredients were not very fresh. The next time, I ordered a shrimp salad, and the shrimp was incredibly watery and flavorless, and I actually got sick when I came home. I don't know for sure if it was the shrimp, but it was a few hours after.....so I've always been suspicious. Since that time I have not been able to have shrimp on a salad at all without being grossed out. At least those salads were chopped though....

I like Panera, but this location skimps on portions. If you've been to other Panera's you will understand. I assume this on is run by a cheap manager. Sad because it isn't a cheap meal, but I am willing to pay at other Panera's because the quality is there, but not here.

Service at this Panera Bread was especially slow. The workers were unprofessional, giggling, and flirting while I waited for my food. I watched two other orders in front of me turn cold over the course of 15 minutes. I also watched, unfortunately, one of the workers mop sweat from her brow as she prepared my salad.

I generally like Panera Bread, but not this one. The only reason why I eat at this one is because I work full time at the Hand and Stone in the same strip mall. Today I just went over and got a bowl of tomato soup. for a BOWL of soup, they gave me 4 croutons with it, 4. The cashier asked me if I wanted chips, a roll, or an apple with that. I said chips. This was a to go order. I should have looked in the bag before I left, because they did not give me chips or anything with the soup. I also feel that for the bowl of soup, you should get double the amount of croutons, especially when you are paying almost $6 for it. I have eaten at other Paneras and this one as the lowest quality of food and the most inconsistent. I only eat here cause I work right there, but now that they opened a Zoes and a Grub Burger and a WAWA across the street, I will very rarely if ever be eating at this Panera anymore. It just is not worth it.

Large location. Always good, quality food. Better option than fast food, but not as super healthy as one might think. Sandwiches are amazing and have so much flavor. Soups in a bread bowl can't be beat. Smoothies are great. Pastries are perfect way to start the day or finish a meal. Great place to stop in for a quick bite without all the regret.

Panera's food is not all that. They try to seem natural and healthy, but they skimp on quality. I like the Republic of Tea brand that they carry, and some of their baked goods are quite yummy, particularly their scones. But their entrées? Methinks not. They advertise "Free wifi", but I came to find out that meant a 30 min limit. Literally, they disconnect your internet after 30 mins. They want you in and out, don't hang around and work or read or enjoy yourself.

The next time, I ordered a shrimp salad, and the shrimp was incredibly watery and flavorless, and I actually got sick when I came home. I don't know for sure if it was the shrimp, but it was a few hours after.....so I've always been suspicious. Since that time I have not been able to have shrimp on a salad at all without being grossed out. At least those salads were chopped though....

The food was good. Although it was a bit confusing where to order lunch. One area had a breakfast menu, the other had the lunch menu. Maybe it just me. Otherwise it was pretty good

I like Panera, but this location skimps on portions. If you've been to other Panera's you will understand. I assume this on is run by a cheap manager. Sad because it isn't a cheap meal, but I am willing to pay at other Panera's because the quality is there, but not here.

Service at this Panera Bread was especially slow. The workers were unprofessional, giggling, and flirting while I waited for my food. I watched two other orders in front of me turn cold over the course of 15 minutes. I also watched, unfortunately, one of the workers mop sweat from her brow as she prepared my salad.

I generally like Panera Bread, but not this one. The only reason why I eat at this one is because I work full time at the Hand and Stone in the same strip mall. Today I just went over and got a bowl of tomato soup. for a BOWL of soup, they gave me 4 croutons with it, 4. The cashier asked me if I wanted chips, a roll, or an apple with that. I said chips. This was a to go order. I should have looked in the bag before I left, because they did not give me chips or anything with the soup. I also feel that for the bowl of soup, you should get double the amount of croutons, especially when you are paying almost $6 for it. I have eaten at other Paneras and this one as the lowest quality of food and the most inconsistent. I only eat here cause I work right there, but now that they opened a Zoes and a Grub Burger and a WAWA across the street, I will very rarely if ever be eating at this Panera anymore. It just is not worth it.

Large location. Always good, quality food. Better option than fast food, but not as super healthy as one might think. Sandwiches are amazing and have so much flavor. Soups in a bread bowl can't be beat. Smoothies are great. Pastries are perfect way to start the day or finish a meal. Great place to stop in for a quick bite without all the regret.
