I really haven't dined at Olive Garden for years although I recall it being a decent experience and it must be said I was a little buzzed on merlot. I recently got take out from there which wasn't bad and not too pricey either. Their bread sticks and salads are really my incentive to dine in or order from there again. We got their mozzarella fondue & the chicken parm. The fondue was really good & the entree was ok but nothing to write home about. That's really all I can say since we didn't dine in. It was convenient and satisfying.

NO BUS PARKING. NO COMPLIMENTARY MEAL FOR BUS DRIVERS. If you are bringing a large group, plan to drop off and park in the plaza across the street. Otherwise be sure to lift the rear to back into the lot.

Olive Garden is one of my favorite chain restaurants, but NOT the one in Williamsport. I ate there 2x last week. The first night, I sat down at the bar and ordered at the exact same time a young man ordered his meal. I was eating in, and he was taking it to go. We ordered similar meals, but not exactly the same. I received my meal, ate the whole thing, drank 2 glasses of beer, and was paying my check, when his meal finally arrived. Not a real bad experience for me, but it was for the young gentleman that sat next to me for 45 minutes, watching me eat. I came back 2 nights later, and enjoyed the same extremely slow service that I watched 2 nights before. I was able to watch my bartender joke and have a great time, while my beer sat empty for a good 5 minutes. I actually had to interrupt the non-work related conversation, just to get another drink. After 45 minutes of waiting for my food, I finally asked them to box it up, I would just eat it at my hotel. They lost my business for good!

So, this is the world's most overdue review. Please note this happened to me all the way back in 2004 and the offending staff member is very likely no longer present at this location. But I ordered a Spaghetti dish of some sort and the waiter brought me a spoon along with my meal. I chuckled and politely said "Ah, I don't need this." The waitress looked at me and said "Oh well someones not Italian." Needless to say, as a half Barese half Sicilian mix I've sworn off the Olive Garden for life. Despite it not reflecting on anyone that presently works for the company, the experience has stuck with me and always will. P.S. The food wasn't very good but I was raised on home cooked Italian meals. It didn't have a chance and I won't judge it because of that.

The best thing at Olive Garden are their soups, which are absolutely delicious. I'd probably rank them from most to least favorite: Minestrone, Chicken and Gnocchi, Pasta Fagiole, and Zuppa. For their main dishes, there's nothing amazing, but you can find a few tasty things. They do have a penchant for taking away your favorite dish though, as they change their menu a lot. There's usually a long wait especially on weekends, and unlike other restaurants they don't offer call ahead seating. Their wait staff is ok, and their kitchen can at times be inconsistent. I go to the Olive Garden probably once every 2-3 months, and don't really see a need to eat there more frequently.

Since I started using Yelp, I try to avoid eating at chain places like Olive Garden but we were just passing through Williamsport on the Sunday before Memorial day around 8PM, so a chain place is pretty much all that's going to be open. That being said, It wasn't too bad. The place looked freshly designed, everything was clean and newer looking. The bathrooms were clean which is always a good sign. Our server was very attentive and friendly, although if anything she was too attentive. She must have asked us if we had decided on what to order five times in the five minutes after we sat down. Not a big deal though. The food was decent. It came out in a timely manner and I had no complaints. I will say the breadsticks seemed really kind of bland compared to what I remember from past visits. I haven't been to Olive Garden in years and that was the one thing I was looking forward to and was a tad let down. Overall, good, friendly service. I would come back again if I was in town when nothing else happened to be open lol.

We eat here few times a year when visiting friends. The staff is always friendly. The food is pretty consistent and decent. Overall it's a reliable dining experience when you're not in the mood for surprises.

To be honest, i don't know why people like to go here in this town. For Italian food, I'd rather go to other better Italian restaurants in town. Their food taste so normal, nothing I had was so tasty. They look so busy all the time, and make people waiting, but I always saw lots of empty tables in there, just wonder it they hold those tables to make them look so busy.BTW, every time I went there was just because I had free gift card of there, and tired to use it up.

I really like the food at the Olive Garden and I eat here often enough. I have had really good service at times and I have also had really bad service at times. The bad times were not having drinks refilled or salad and breadsticks I mean at a table of 10 did they think one bowl of salad and four breadsticks were gonna cut it? And one of the group found a hair not matching their own intheir food. Again my good expereinces do outweigh the bad but it is the bad that tend to stick with you more.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
