Bartenders here are great, and the cocktail menu is A+...I'm a fan of the Sazerac. Beer selection is good as well, and there is a nice choice of bottled soda for non drinkers. Food is good, but limited for vegetarians. Hope to see this expanded perhaps.

Beautiful location and bar. Staff was very down to earth and connected well with patrons and helped in directing me towards items that I would enjoy. I had the hot pretzel app which was great hot, but average as it cooled(hint - eat it when it comes out) and the Pickle Bites(recommendation from the bartender). Very good - crispy, lots of flavor and just the right amount of breading and flavor. For dinner I had the Guinness Stew and it was just ok. I was steered towards the Shepherds pie and decided against it - I should have a listened. The Guinness Stew could have come from a Progresso can. Morgan was the bartender and did a good job sharing what "was good vs what was popular". Staff is half your experience and they didn't disappoint on food or service! Only reason for 4 stars - it is bar food. I would go back for a great atmosphere, bartenders and really good bar food. Listen to your bartender if you want great food.

Best place in Williamsport to grab a beer and something to eat. Staff is friendly and knowledgable about the drink offerings and what's coming out of the kitchen. Environment is the best you will find around as well. Mai Fun salad, Bavarian barbarian, nachos and pretzel are some of the go-to's.

Good beer, good food. Especially, pretzel is a must try appertizer, board options of dipping sauce as well, but the waiting for a waitress to serve your table may take a long time.

We were here a few months ago. There was approximately 20 people in the bar with only one bartender working along with the "co-owner" who stated he was not a bartender and could not make drinks. We waited 25 minutes at the bar before being acknowledged and were not received well. The "co-owner" as he called himself was snippy, understaffed, and rude as a result of his negligent staffing. We brought out friends from the city here to experience something different and ended up being embarrassed and gravely disappointed.

The food was delicious, authentic Pub atmosphere, great selection of beer, attentive & friendly waitstaff and spotless restrooms! What's not to love? We'll be back

New restaurant in my hometown so naturally I had to try it on a visit. It started out with a very long wait in a very cold hallway. My waitress was about as friendly as a flu shot and literally just dropped stuff off at the table. She seriously said maybe 6 words to me the entire time. What I'm really wondering is why the staff/owner are drinking at and behind the bar? Otherwise the food was good. Pretzels were good but the Fries were the highlight of the meal. Drinks other than beer are limited and cost money to refill. Would I come back? Probably not when the Bullfrog is a block away.

Had a date here with my Husband last week... Very neat and unique place! The style and decor is very cool. Laid back vibe. Little bit of a wait on a Saturday night but no biggie, plenty to do to bide the time. If you can get one of the tables in the front of the restaurant there are two huge windows that open completely to the street. Pretty cool. Food was good and came in a timely fashion. My Husband enjoyed the beer. Good iced tea. We would certainly go back again.

I've been here for cocktails before, but this was the first time eating. We had a party of 4 and I got to try other dishes, which is always a treat. My husband and I both ordered the fish n' chips, really love that they have different portion options. Fish n' chips were satisfying. Had some of the veggie sandwich a member of our party ordered and it was very tasty. The 4th person at our table enjoyed the Shepard's pie. I will say that the coleslaw did not blow up my skirt, but it's a after thought of a side dish, so I wasn't put off by it. The salad section of the menu looked uninspiring, but I don't think this is the place to get a salad. I would be interesting in trying their burger next time around. The decor/atmosphere plays into the Vicotrian history of Williamsport, while also being trendy and "of the moment". Overall, I would definitely come back here for dinner, and I'm curious to check out their brunch next time I'm in town. My husband was not overly impressed with the beer list. My wine was fine, but I'm no sommelier, if it's wet and is alcohol I'll drink it!

The Moon and Raven has a great atmosphere and an excellent selection of beer. Unfortunately, that is where the pleasantries end. Nearly every time I've visited, the service has been awful. If you can get a beer, good luck getting a 2nd one. The food takes forever and the waitresses always seem to be miserable. On one occasion, an out-of-town friend and I were 2 out of the 3 people sitting at the bar. Upon consumption of our beverages, we looked for the bartender to have another. She was at the opposite end of the bar, talking to the only other person there (who wasn't even drinking) and appeared to be an off duty staffer. We tried to get her attention for nearly a half hour while we caught up on conversation, waving at her anytime she would almost look our way. Finally, she returned to our side of the bar to check on us. We ordered two more beers. Almost immediately, the owner came out from the back and told us to quickly finish our drinks and leave as they are closing. We could barely get service and once we do, you basically kick us out. Unbelievable. On another occasion, I tried to buy bulk gift cards to give away at my company xmas party as gifts. The bartender told me I would need to speak with the owner who was currently sitting at a booth, talking to patrons. She then left to inform him. We waited for 20 minutes, having the bartender go over and remind him once more. He just continued talking and never came over to help, so we left. We were going give them money AND introduce numerous patrons to their new establishment. Apparently, the poor service and bad business sense start at the top and trickles down to the rest of the staff. Until they make the customer a priority, I will be steering my friends and family away from this place.

Food and beer was excellent. The server wasn't exactly astute on which brews were ambers or not, but good atmosphere, beer and food nonetheless.

We love the Moon and Raven. It's our go-to spot in the greater W-port area - and for good reason. The food is consistently good. The beer list is just about the best anywhere within a 30 mile radius, and the environment is very welcoming. Perhaps our favorite features are 1) the lack of TVs and 2) the propensity for people to get up, move around, and visit - probably due in no small way to #1. It's so nice to be able to go somewhere to eat and have a few drinks and hear the people across the table from you - yet so many places have chosen to drown out conversations with useless music or distractions. Sports bar this is not. Pub in the UK sense more like it. If you want to go somewhere lively, enjoy some good food and drink, and you like to be in pleasant surroundings, this is the place in Williamsport to find those things.

Stopped in here for a late lunch on the way through town. They are GF friendly. There is a GF bakery right next door, so I was very hopeful when walking to the place. Place was not busy when we got there and there were several people working. I didn't feel very welcome, it seemed like one of those places where they couldn't care either way if you ate there or not. Several of the menu items looked really good. I settled on the American Burger and asked if I could get a GF bun for it. I was told yes and they even have GF mentioned on the menu. I figured it would be really good. Our food FINALLY came out. I have no idea why it took so long. But when I got my burger it was on GF sandwich bread slices?!?!? WHY would you do that??? I wasn't happy but bread looked OK and I was hungry so I figured that I would give it a try. I was really looking forward to a buffalo burger, but it didn't impress me at all. I actually had trouble eating it. It was really very greasy. I imagine it was mostly cheap fatty beef and two tablespoons of buffalo meat in it, if that much. I couldn't even tell it was buffalo. So it greased all over my GF sandwich bread (NOT BUN) and my plate and it fell apart and was a mess. I ate some of the burger and left the rest. The wait staff came back once during the meal to refill drinks (which they charge for btw) and that was it. My family said the Caesar salad and club sandwich was just OK except for the shepherds pie, I was told it was good. But I wouldn't go out of my way to go back to this place for any reason. Oh and parking anywhere near the place is a real pain.

Okay, it's been well over a year now and the M&R is still our go-to place for dinner. They have expanded the menu having added various salads (the Thai is my favorite), a steak, catfish, etc. The food never disappoints. My favorite has become the creole, though I get it made with chicken as I don't eat shrimp. One of the best additions is that they are now open for Sunday brunch. The menu is small but interesting. One must-try is the colcannon. I had never had it before and found it to be very tasty. It seems that the negatives in other reviews are centered around the service and wait times. It's true you may have to wait a while but that is due to the atmosphere encouraging people to linger. The kitchen's ticket times have definitely gotten better over time. As we have been there many times we have gotten to know most of the servers and some are definitely better than others. But all are friendly if you engage them. Overall, the M&R is a place you should definitely try. And, as with all restaurants, if you have a bad experience let the owners know. Then give them another try. I suspect you will have a better experience.

Cool atmosphere, great staff, and awesome food. Love that they offer artisan sodas in place of your typical Coke or Pepsi products.

If you're in hurry this is the place to go. I received my starter my salad and my entrée all together. My friend and I barely had room on the table to put everything. I never felt so rushed in my life. The waiter never came back to see if we needed a drink, which We did, but another kind waitress took care of us. I'm not going to complain about the food which was okay, but the service definitely could be better.

This place was such a disappointment. We were looking forward to having some comfort food and ended up with nothing but disappointment. The menu is deceptive, the poetry on parchment does make the food sound interesting however it seemed no matter what we ordered it either came burnt, or way too salty. 25 minutes to get service after being seated. 15 minutes to get our beverages. 30 minutes to get our food. The fastest service here is table bussing, they took plates away before we were finished.

Small menu, but everything is perfectly executed every single time. A bit of a twist on Irish and English fare. Some of the tastiest sauces I've ever experienced. Wonderful beer selection, some of the cocktails leave something to be desired. Very cool atmosphere and space, I love the use of upcycled materials!

It's basically another overly priced restaurant bar down town that fails to distinguish itself from the rest of the establishments in downtown Williamsport.

Been here once so far. Highlights are the french fries - when they say hand cut they aren't kidding - those things taste exactly like home made. Speaking of home made, as part of my meal I had a side salad (not on the menu, but they will make you one) and the dressing tasted home made as well - very fresh and tasty. My friends got the guiness stew (thumbs up for taste and presentation), the ham and cheese on a pretzel roll (nice and soft, not too salty) and I got a cup of chili (which for being labeled 8 oz on the menu, was at least that much). So, kuddos on food for sure. Service was responsive - probably better than town average, but not blow your mind speedy. We did not have a problem with it. The only thing that's weird is the building itself - since it's narrow and deep, they don't fit as many tables in as I would have expected for the floor area. The bar is huge though, for those looking for bevs only. Definitely will go back for another try. Happy to find out about the Moon and Raven as a new addition to Williamsport.

Ok, so I've been to the pub 4 times, each time starving - on business - on somebody else's credit card that I carry myself. For NEPA/central northern PA, this is a pretty cool watering hole. Average, anywhere but MI or PA, but apparently held in very high esteem is this area of the country. 1. Good beer select on tap 2. Interesting menu - try the lamb n beef burger, order it a couple temps more rare than u would normally. I tried it twice, MR both times, it came out MW both times. 3. Management cares if u enjoyed ur meal, only as far as the cash register. 4. The owners circle the bar like hawks - can't blame them lol 5. Quirky, cute female bartenders. All in all, for the area is pretty good. 3/5 score is nationwide. For the area prob 4-5/5!

Classic Irish Pub, was there on a Thursday for an after dinner cocktail - live Irish folk music and bartenders were great. Highly recommend. Must have the Irish coffee with bailey's infused whipped cream.

The decor is really cool. Everything in the restaurant is repurposed or recycled and it looks amazing. I could spend half a day just looking at the details and thought that went into the interior design. The food was amazing as well! Everything is made fresh with local ingredients and you can tell when you taste your meal. We had a large hot pretzel for an appetizer, yum! I wasn't very hungry so I only ordered an onion soup, but it was soo good. You have to try their fries and aioli sauce. They twice fry their fries so that they are extra crispy. Even their lemonade is made fresh daily. I can't wait to go back and try more. Definitely a great addition to Williamsport!

Bar service is terrible. Took 15 minutes to get drinks and there were three people behind the bar. I love the atmosphere and the decor but the wait and annoyance makes for an unpleasant experience.

Absolutely fantastic attention to every detail! From the menu to the atmosphere it's very obvious that a great deal of thought and effort were put into every aspect of this restaurant. The food was delicious, the waitstaff friendly and the music perfect (cool, laid back & not too loud). I really cannot remember the last time I enjoyed a restaurant as much as this one. I had the Buffalo Chili with a side of Frites (fries) and my wife had the Buffalo Tom (delicious sandwich) with a fresh lemon aid. We both loved our meals. Can't wait to go back again!

I left an earlier review when the Moon and Raven first opened, and the day I was looking forward to came: I can give this a five star rating now. The service has come a long way, and they know a number of the regulars by first name now. They've expanded their menu, and denoted the items that take less time, so that you can get in and out in a hurry if you need to. The beer list is still impressive, and has been expanded- and they haven't run low on anything yet tonight! Most importantly, the reason why I can now give these guys a higher rating is this: they're listening. They saw the reviews, listened to the customers, and adjusted their business without compromising on the good food and drinks they serve. Welcome to the neighborhood, ladies and gentlemen! You're going to see a lot of me!

First time in on 11/21/13 in the evening. It was crowded so I will cut them some slack but our table of 8 was served our salads and entree at varying times. I was done eating before some even got their meal.they are new so I assume it will improve. Beer selection is good as they say they will not buy from the big boys.therefore no bud, Miller, or Coors on tap. Wine was pricey. I will goto the liquor store and just buy the 13$ bottle of malbec for myself rather than pay$7 for a glass. I would return.

  • Jen C.

Wonderful atmosphere and beer selection. The fries were great too. Had the fish and chips and it was pretty tasty. I will be going back to try other menu items, as I had a hard time narrowing it down to only one item the first time. Service was great too.

This place is completely under-rated and under the radar in Williamsport. Great selection of draft beer and good music. I don't know why more people come here.

Came for lunch--excellent beer selection, great service and love the ambiance. Try the Reuben--perfectly sliced pastrami, tangy sauerkraut on marble rye. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town!

Been there twice and the food and service were excellent. Cottage pie was delicious as were the fish and chips. I recommend trying the Crabbies Ginger beer if you like ginger.

Outstanding food! We had the home made potato chips, French onion soup, the Asian Thai salad and the chicken pie. All of the food was great!! Service was a little slow which is the only reason it gets 4 stars. Come expecting to spend a little time and you won't be disappointed.

I am assuming that they will at some point be putting up signage outside announcing the restaurant. Although, they may not need to considering the decent sized crowd that is either in the know or recognizes that Edison light bulbs signifies a food forward, craft beer destination. Be curious or adventurous and check it out. There were about 20 good beers on tap - a combination of good local brews and global standards (Guiness, Hoegaarden). The menu is eminently affordable. The reuben sandwich was substantial, with good sauerkraut, which had an interesting sweetness. The fries were overcooked however. The real winner though was the mustard, which had a terrific smokiness and was the crowd's favorite. I believe they have only been open about a week at this point, so they're still working out service kinks.

Really great place, been several times for lunch and dinner and drinks. Food is one of a kind. Beer selection is always rotating and fresh. Service is fast and friendly and the guy in the kilts is the head chief and an owner. Atmosphere is irish pub like and whimsical. All around great place

I haven't had this great a brunch in a long time. We were here for brunch on a Sunday. The atmosphere is really bright and sunny and seating is plentiful. The server was friendly although she forgot to come around and fill us up with fluids until we asked but other than that she was still polite and accommodating. The menu was very diverse and really prides itself with authentic Irish dishes. The servings were larger portions so come hungry! They do serve gluten free toast (thanks to the gluten free bakery right beside it) and you can even have the rum french toast with the gf bread! I highly recommend the broiled grapefruit doused in brown sugar and the bangers, mash and beans dish. The local Amish bangers were "bangin" ;) Local coffee is served and as I didn't indulge in the Sunday cocktails they did have Irish coffee and mimosas that looked worth it.
