Oh River Grille. I want to give you a higher rating. I really, really do. The physical location is very convenient, the atmosphere is terrific. The deck, outside bar area and fire pits are all awesome. The food is great. The brunch menu and Bloody Mary bar are simply spectacular. There is no other place in the area that has the potential that River Grille has. So why oh why do you throw it all away with your awful, terrible, horrendous service?? The service at this place is the absolute worst! The servers are slow, inattentive, and far more concerned with chatting with one another and hanging out than waiting on their tables. The bartender at the outside bar was go gruff and standoffish the other day that we actually felt unwelcome, and moved to a table instead. The server I had for brunch last Sunday did not bring the salsa or sour cream that was supposed to come with my breakfast burrito (which happens every time I order it) and brought coffee mugs that were only half full. Our mimosas sat empty for almost 15 minutes before anyone came to offer refills, our food was cold before anyone brought us silverware, and the server scowled at my friend and skulked away without a word when he had the audacity to ask for hot sauce. Needless to say, it never came. We then waited a full 20 minutes for our check and only got it after we flagged the server down while he was bullshitting with another table of pissed off looking people's server. I hear the same complaints about the service here over and over. You would think the management would have addressed this issue by now. If you go, it's so tempting to sit on the deck. But if you want even somewhat decent service (not necessarily friendly) your best bet is to sit at the inside bar.

Beautiful restaurant ! Both the interior and exterior have an upscale feel. We sat on the patio and enjoyed both the breeze and the view of the river . Out server was Mike and was very attentive and kept out drinks filled . The Italian steamers are an excellent appetizer !

This place is very visually appealing. I love the interior, LOVE the deck...and the potential of it is what I love the most. I've actually only ordered food from here about 3x and all 3 times were takeout so this review is based on service. All 3 times that I've been here I felt unwelcomed and unwanted. There was always something missing from what I ordered- either fries, ketchup, or some side dish. I gave them the benefit of the doubt the first 2 times they didn't give me everything I ordered...and I just dealt with it. The 3rd time, however, I decided to go back and ask for what they forgot and I got a look as if I was Hitler. I mean... is it really that bad that I asked for the side dish that I paid for? Okay then. Maybe this is just a flaw they have for their takeout.. but it's enough for me to not have any further interest in being a patron of this venue.

Service is hit or miss, as is the food. Pool tables and darts, and patio bar year-round. Their specials are decent, taco Tuesdays and $3.99/dozen clams on Thursdays. Haven't been for Sunday brunch yet but I may have to check it out.. $3 bloody mary's!

Would never step foot in this place. There are real reasons for this that involve the nearest hospital ER.

i have been here many times over the past few years. the service seems to be hit or miss. you can wait unusually long for drinks but the food will be out faster than expected. the drinks are pretty good and reasonably priced but the food seems to be going downhill ever since this place opened. last time i was there i ordered a quesidilla and the onions on it were really coarse chopped and cold as well as the tomatoes. the loaded fries are greasy and not very 'loaded". maybe you have to be loaded to appreciate them hence the name? there was also one time where my girlfriend and i ordered the spinach and artichoke dip. not only was the dip bland tasting but the bread bowl was stale as well and for some reason they loaded the chips with salt. the best part about this place is the huge deck which is nice when its warm outside and you can relax outside. the atmosphere is good too and the place is clean and modern. theres a lot of tvs on the inside as well. overall, not a bad place to go for drinks and hang out, but dont go there expecting food that will blow you away.

Outdoors year round. One of the few spots for Sunday brunch. Steak & eggs recommended. Build your own Bloody Mary bar optional.

I've noticed that there is never any tp for my bunghole here which almost resulted in me getting caught with my pants down. Came for lunch very hungover and hoping to drink lots of coke. It took forever for someone to acknowledge our existence which I realize now was probably because our waitress was on bath salts. The coke was flat and warm so I told her to get it the f off my bill and she did so one star for that and also because of rogue gatherings of future business d bags. Food is gross too

This place makes me sad. It's like having a son who is brilliant and a star athlete. You know he will do great. All you want for him is to be better than his old man. Then you find out that all his natural potential is wasted because he is heavily involved in drugs and refuses to quit. That is this bar. They have the most natural potential of any bar in the area, but they thoroughly F it up. The drugs in this case? The help. I cringe when I call them that; they don't ever seem to help. The servers are rude and (intentionally?) forgetful- sometimes downright obnoxious. It's a shame bc the owner is a real nice guy. And from what I can tell, so is his wife and son.

I want to give this place a higher rating, but because of the experiences I've had here, they have some work to do. I agree with Ryan W.'s comments about how the River Grille has a lot of potential. The have the largest deck i've ever seen at a restaurant/bar over looking the river. It's an awesome view. They have a covered and non-covered section with patio umbrellas. During the summer months this place is a great location to spend your time outside having a good time with friends. The menu changed since the last time I've been here. Since it was Wednesday, it was Mexican night. The chicken fajitas and enchiladas were great. Wish the enchiladas were served with a side though because it wasn't filling enough. Unfortunately, if we got out appetizer, it would have been enough. Overall, the service needs more attention. I'll probably be back again. Give it another go around.

I think this place has a lot of potential. I was back in my home town recently and about to head to the woodlands for a drink when my friend said "don't go there, you will probably get stabbed!" So i guess in the past year or so the crime has gotten pretty bad, instead he suggested the River Grille! Definitely a good spot right on the river to eat or drink outside! Surprisingly cheap, big blue moons were only $2.50 and the food was also rather inexpensive. Great setting lots of space (if its daytime, you will bake on at the table with the umbrellas in the sun so sit at one of the tables closer to the outdoor bar with the fans to stay cool! The inside is well decorated its a pretty cool spot! i could see myself hanging out here a bit more if I still lived in the area. Downfalls included the food was just so so... We got some cheese fries and it was a giant plate of just decent fries covered in what looked like a about a tablespoon full of cheese that managed to cover about 3 or 4 fries... fail... Also when you are on the balcony you can look down over a big courtyard that you know gets packed at night and would be a great spot to drink and mingle only to find out you cant even go down there, its only for banquets / parties... Fail #2... All in all - very good setting inside and out, surprisingly cheap, food is decent, not too bad!

I stopped here to meet some family for happy hour. They have drink speciials nightly, Friday was long island iced teas. They were fair, a bit too tart for me. I ordered the southwestern egg rolls which were very southwestern, they got the spice right, although the dipping sauce was a bit to thin for me, yet tasty. We sat forever before a waitress would even look at us, which was bothersome, however, later in the night we dealt with a great, and attentive waitress. A nice atmosphere over looking the river, music, dj, the coors light girls were handing out door prizes as well.

Went there today for our brunch. There were 9 of us. We had an indoor reservation as they do not allow outdoor ones. However they had a set up for us outside. That was great. They failed to mention when we made our reservation that they didn't open until 11:30. The server was pleasant and efficient and so nicely gave us all individual checks. I ordered one of their versions of eggs Benedict which came with order of tater tots. The tots were out of the bag frozen tots with no seasoning or anything special. That being said...they were tater tots. The hollandaise sauce was incredibly bland. The peppered bacon was tasty...but the spinach was too wet and too flavorless for this dish. The eggs were cooked a bit harder than I'd Like. The bloody Mary was good.....and plentiful. I would have liked to see more meats or olives...but it was quite a good bargain for only 4.00. I'd go back for the atmosphere and bloody Marys but....the dish was altogether lacking. Price of the meal was good @ around 8.00

Went here 8/18 2015 and would never go back. Waitress was not at all helpful, not informing us of any specials. Ordered the grouper which said was grilled, it was more like deep fried and microwaved. The only good things were the potatoes, beer and view. Will not be going back!

This place quickly became one of our new favorites. Wednesday is the day to go so that we get the awesome waitress we like. The food and the service is great. Plus, they have a craft beer night, which is a big draw for my husband.

The food was really, really good and I want to like this place more, especially after our college daughter raved about it. Lunch on the patio was great with the sun and a river view, BUT the wait staff was extremely surly, as was the host when we came in. They acted as if they were doing us a huge favor by even allowing us to be in their restaurant. We probably won't be back.

Good drink specials, delicious mac & cheese! I also had blackened chicken that was pretty tasty. I dig their Cajun wing sauce, but I'm not a fan of the hot - I don't get the "sweet-hot" wing sauce trend that seems to have taken over the valley. I want a tangy, vinegar-laden, tooth-melting sauce with not a bit of sugar, thank you. I was here a few times for "rhythm & brunch" last summer; the tunes were great, the service was very much not. Otherwise, I would have given this place four stars.

Attempted to go to River Street Jazz Cafe for dinner, but upon our arrival at 7:45pm, they had yet to even open; we ended up here. Light crowd in their dining area and moderate crowd in their bar and patio areas. There was an obnoxious prom going on outside below the waterfront patio where we were seated, which belongs to another business (we ended up moving inside after a while due to the chilly May evening breeze). Four dollar Long Island Iced Teas were big, but kind of weak (this is the Friday drink special). The regular drink prices were overall pretty good for a restaurant like this. Ordered a number of different dishes: - wing bites (in their unique "Polynesian" rosemary soy preparation) - "pizza" flatbread - crabcake sandwich & pasta salad - "signature" burger & sweet potato fries - oyster po' boy & coleslaw - banana bread french toast PB&J with ice cream Everything was at least OK. The rolls for each of the sandwiches left much to be desired. Cranberry mayo was undetectable on the burger, which was cooked exactly medium as requested. Pasta salad and coleslaw were very plain. Oyster po' boy... oil-saturated ocean-flavored tidbits. The real highlights of the meal were: - the rosemary soy sauce (though adding pineapple and making it more of a saucy glaze would have made it better), - the crabcake by itself (all lump, minimal filler, but begging for a zesty remoulade), - sweet potato fries (make sure you ask for them un-sugared, as the dipping sauce is more than sweet enough) The banana bread french toast PB&J deserves a standalone mention since it was so unique and unexpected. The french vanilla ice cream it was served with wasn't so great, a little icy and generic tasting, but the rest of it was fantastic. I wouldn't have ever dreamed of making a dish like this. The service was friendly and attentive - we were never left wanting for anything. Overall, I was surprised this place was so quiet on a Friday night. The food is OK or better, depending on what you order (they really need to find better sandwich buns) and certain things sound much better on the menu than they actually taste. There is definitely some creativity in the kitchen, but some extra attention to execution and a few higher quality ingredients would go a long way. They have a nice location right off the Cross Valley, and once you're inside, you forget you're in an office park. The patio is spacious & offers something to look at - even if it is the Susquehanna.

We ate here as a fun date! The view was beautiful! The staff was so kind & friendly. It did take our server almost 10 minutes to greet us, but that's no big deal. I was a waitress before, you get overwhelmed & busy. She was so sweet & kind. As well as the manager. We had an issue with our steak. My husband ordered a filet which is $26 so I told him we had the right to send it back. He wanted it medium & it came out medium well. That happens, it's okay! 20 minutes later the new steak came out... Still a little medium well but we weren't going to be "those guests." The sides were wonderful & so were the drinks. But I'm only giving 3 stars because of our steak experience.

Don't waste your time or money! I attended the 1st annual BeatTek BBQ event at this place. They made me pay a cover to get into their falsely advertised event. Then we get there and all the previous reviews about the waitress being nasty are all TRUE.. We had an encounter with one particular jerk of a waitress Jennifer. Customer service is obviously something they don't teach the server/ wanna be bartender ! On top of it, I was super excited that this event was going to have BBQ. They claimed it would be a special menu and I was really excited until I got there and saw the menu literally had two items, chicken and I think brisket, which was ridiculously overpriced! This was an absolute nightmare and a waste of my time and money!
